BOMBBBBB!! The boo/I were in Reno for the lantern festival weekend, AND after a magical night - we were hoping for a yummy morning after BRUNCH to complete our trip...and came upon this tasty place! Two Chicks is a relatively medium size, cute, local joint that seems often jam packed with people. We settled for outdoor seating and waited probably no more than 15 minutes, but def. knew others waited longer than us for indoor seating. Service was nice and fast overall, even while sitting outside. Let's dig in: (1) Steak breakfast with hash browns and eggs - the steak was a tad bit overcooked, but still very tasty, well seasoned, and juicy AF + standard yummy sunny side eggs and hash brown were perfect in completing the meal. (2) Biscuits and gravy with sausage and eggs - homemade and highly recommended - it was so damn good! The biscuit was nice and soft, easy to cut through with a fork but still substantial enough to hold up all of that rich, thick, and tasty gravy! Perfectly cooked sunny side eggs and a side of sausage BC more meat is always a must... (3) Side of veggie fritters - this was a house favorite and was well worth the hype! All the string veggies are compacted and panfried to a beautiful crispy fritter. Def. unique and very tasty!!! (4) Mimosa is a brunch necessity and this one was so good and refreshing, their house squeezed OJ was perfectly cold and even had light pulp + champagne = the perfect morning wake me up! We decided to try this place based on the yelp reviews. We arrived about 11am on a Sunday and the place was hopping. We were told it would be a 25 minute wait for a table for 2. We decided to stick around because it looked interesting. My wife loves the decor and the locacation is in mid-town which is experiencing a revitalization. As we waited the wait time got up to 40 minutes. They eventually called our name and we were seated. We perused the menu which kind of has a hip and urban feel to it, traditional with a twist. I am not much of a hipster when it comes to food and therefore I would have had to ask for quite a few modifications so I decided to keep it simple and ordered the biscuits and gravy. My wife ventured out a bit and got pancakes stuffed with bacon and ordered them "king style" which adds bananas and peanut butter syrup. The table next to us was seated after us and received their meals. A few minutes later the server came to us and said their system had updated and our order was not sent to the kitchen but that she put a rush on it. Our orders were brought out shortly after. The biscuits were homemade, very dense and chewy. The sausage gravy is slightly spicy. When we received the check, she said she was able to discount it a bit. They took off 30% which was nice. My wife really enjoyed her pancakes, she said the peanut butter syrup was yummy!!! Overall I really wanted to like it but it just wasn't for me. Seems to be very popular so the menu offerings must appeal to a lot of people. When we left there was at least a 30 minute wait based on the number of people. read more

The food was really good, i got the biscuits and gravy (it was delicious.) and my husband got the caprese bene he got the veggie fritter instead of the English muffin (only thing was a little too much sauce for the Hollandaise and balsamic) we also topped it off with mimosas with freshly squeezed orange juice. Technically this rating is an off-the-chart-10-star!!! We can't say enough great things about our experience here! The service was very friendly & fast. The ambiance was very inviting, casual, & cheerful. And, the food! Oh the food! We ordered glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice & grapefruit juice & both were the best we've ever had! The bacon was thick, crispy, & delicious! The biscuits & gravy were very comforting, flavorful, fluffy, & amazing! I really love this place and need to come here more often. Both times I have been here has been for breakfast - once for a Breakfast Club UYE, and most recently all by myself because I deserve it. The overall standout for this place is the great food, fixed to perfection. The ingredients are fresh and nicely presented. The hash browns are amazing. They are crunchy and tender and very flavorful with cheese added in which gives it a buttery richness. Amazing. My eggs over easy were just the way I like them - runny yoke and solid white. The strawberry cream cheese spread for the toast (in place of butter) was just the right touch of sweetness to make the whole grain toast special. To top it all off, they serve fresh squeezed orange juice and a huge mug of most excellent coffee. Service was the only miss here. It was seat yourself, so I sat and was brought a menu and an offer of drink right away. I got my coffee and OJ and then waited, and waited, and waited. I finally got the attention of another server and she took my order. All worked out fine, but I felt like I got forgotten. This place is so cute and is a must try if you're in Reno. We had breakfast there and the food was yummy and reasonably priced and the service was great. I ordered some egg Benedict dish on sourdough but I was steaming my man's chorizo chilaquiles. I'll def get that next time. I came back to try the cocktails with a friend. We both don't do dairy and wanted some coffee so we got the Morning Glory- which was a cold brew, coffee liqueur and coconut milk concoction. While it was pretty good and strong, we both wanted more cold brew in it to start our morning. This cocktail used coffee more as flavoring than function. For food, I got one of the skillets that had fries, eggs, raw jalapeños and bacon. Took off the bacon to make it vegetarian, and I hate to say it, but the skillet was pretty bland and could have used more seasoning. My friend got the chicken fried steak, which he said was very good, but their veggie fritters were bland for him as well. Overall, I'm less impressed than I was the first time I came. Still a great place, but some dishes are better than others and this might not be your favorite place if you're looking to avoid meat, dairy or cheese, as the options are more limited (only seems to be one vegan dish on the menu). read more

We landed here for breakfast and were able to get seated right away. We weren't sure what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised! The Red Chick scramble...scrambled eggs served over white sweet potatoes (those were amazing!) with cream cheese and spinach. It was delicious and filling. The coffee was hot and flavorful. The chicken fried steak was tasty and the biscuits and gravy were better than expected. The pancake dippers were ok. It comes with this weird concoction of peanut butter and syrup. The consistency of that concoction was a little off putting. We'd rather just had a dollop of peanut butter to smear on and then be able to dunk in maple syrup. The sourdough pancakes were really good. I like sourdough but I didn't notice a different flavor, so don't let the sourdough scare you. (Sourdough is a thing in CA where I live now, but not the Midwest where I'm originally from. My mom and sister (Midwest) wanted nothing to do with the sourdough pancakes.). Came here once , about 2 months ago with my sister and her mansss lol who were visiting from cali. We headed down to midtown to look for something to eat, I'm new to the Reno area so it's nice to explore. We couldn't make up our minds about where to eat. So we said, "yelp it!" Lol ( that's basically my decision making for food) After much deliberation , we made the executive decision. We walked inn about 11 am , they close early I think a few hrs after midday. We were seated quickly , someone just told us to pick a table, nice place very cute decor. The 3 of us, got menus and coffee. We didn't know what to order so we asked our server for suggestions. I was kinda thinking about getting the chilaquiles, and after she reassured me they were good , that's what I went with. My sis got I think some kind of eggs which came with toast & butter , my in law a breakfast sandwich and Parmesan fries. Our food came in good time, and my chilaquiles were actually pretty fucking good, a little different form what I'm used to ( being Mexican and all lol) ,but familiar enough to remind me of flavors I've grown up with. we all tried each other's food. Everything thing was on point. But what really stood out to us were those Parmesan fries and the blueberry butter. they were bloody good! I think they change the butter to strawberry every now and then, idk. But anyway that stuff was delicious. Once we were done with our meals our server who was very attentive through out our visit , came by and talked to us, as if we had known each other prior to that moment, which I know sounds weird, but it made me want to come back. It felt familiar. She also asked me about the chilaquiles , and said there's Latinos cooking , lmao , I told her they tasted familiar, and how that made sense! You know that saying, "Loaction, location, location"? Two Chicks is located in the heart of Midtown Reno, which draws visits and locals alike. I was invited here by my son on a Sunday morning, who lives near the university and he knew mama would pickup the tab. LOL. We didn't have reservations (COVID times) but we were luckily able to get seated at one of their several tables outside. We figured it's a nice sunny and warm morning, why not? Big mistake. We failed to realize that their seating is 100% in the shade, and they provide no outdoor heating lamps (you know the kind that restaurants have for their outdoor seating areas). Since this restaurant's core business is breakfast and brunch, investing in heaters for their customers would have been expected. As for the food. My son ordered the Breakfast Tacos and I got the 2 Eggs and Ham. I tasted the tacos and they were good. Plate came with 3 tacos w/ salsa and a side of potatoes. Hash brown were chosen. My 2 eggs and ham came with toast and potatoes. I ordered the home fries. My ham was fairly small and the potatoes appeared to be pre-frozen and precut, and fried with onion and peppers. For a simple breakfast I was disappointed and left unsatisfied. Two Chicks by no means is bad but it was average, and I'm sure many visitors enjoy their breakfasts/brunches here. read more

The eggs Benedict tasted pretty good but I ended up needing more hollandaise sauce which our server didn't tell me it was $1.99 extra so we had to adjust that. I wanted potatoes but by looking at the pictures, I knew they weren't going to be cooked all the way so I ordered half potatoes and half hash browns and sure enough the potatoes were cold and half cooked. They tasted like they came from a frozen bag and there was literally no seasoning. The hash browns didn't taste all that great either. The restaurant and their serving plates were cute. Don't know what all the hype is but I guess for Reno residents it's major for them. Yes, I'm from SF so call me spoiled from all the good restaurants we have. Be prepared for the long wait. One more thing, their chorizo patties was gross and the apple cinnamon french toast was alright but I'm not a fan of apples. A funky lil place with great service and ambiance. I ate here in 8-20-24 and the food was amazing. I had the salmon bene (Benedict) that came with grilled salmon, sautéed onions. I added spinach and avocado over some home made biscuits. The Biscuits were light fluffy and not filling at all. This will be my go to breakfast spot when in Reno. Amazing vegan breakfast!! Got the loaded sweet potatoes add vegan egg and the blueberry pancake stack (already vegan, just ask for no butter). Totally hit the spot for a classic diner-style breakfast. Appreciate that you can make reservations and they have plenty of booths. We went on a Saturday and they were busy but we were able to get in a little before our reservation time. Overall prices were reasonable. The hash was great as I ordered it but would have been great without the egg too, vegan add-ons are pricey (I think it was $6 for sausage and $4 for the egg) but understandable given how expensive they are in the grocery store. Service was friendly and helpful but a little rushed- they brought out our check before we had even finished eating which I'm not the biggest fan of, but given their short hours I guess they need to turn over as many tables as they can.
