Ivory Coast was up on Curaçao 2-0 and Germany was tied up with Ecuador 1-1 in a close and better elimination game. The audio for the bar was for the CIV v CUW. I was interested in the Germany v Ecuador game so I asked, "can we get the audio to the GvE game?" "No, those two ladies (only two other patrons in the bar) are watching the game being played/heard.". "No problem", I say. Meanwhile the women are talking super fast and weren't even taking breathes enough to hear the broadcast nor looking at the TVs. In my head I thought, man I don't write reviews often but this would be an epic one star. But decided chill out, and not. I finish my burger and beer and about with :15 mins left in the match the bartender changes the audio (to GvE) which is met with applause by the women, and an inner smile by me. Ecuador scores almost instantly as they pound on the table and stand on their stools, as if they were on Bourbon Street and things could get very interesting. Hmmm, I think to myself. These damn women are Ecuadorian. So what's with thinking they were Curaçaoian? Or am I to believe they didn't give two about looking at the Curaçao game and suddenly became super fans when the Ecuador game was turned on audio. Honestly. Did he miss the mark that much? Sure did. Anywho, the check arrives at the burger menu priced at $13 comes up as $13.83 and the pints are also like $9.odd amount like $9.81 or something. The total is $33.blah blah. I hand over my card but ask, "what's with the strange pricing? The menu says $8 for each item." "Oh let me check...oh yeah it because the menu lists cash prices and so if you pay cash, you get that price, if not you pay this price." WTH!!! Maybe that's listed on the menu. But a 10% service charge on beer to cover a what 3-4% Visa fee. Man, please be overcharging to buy some fly swatters or hanging stank away bags. So yeah, 1-star. Just skip this place and go sit on a Port-a-potty instead.

I went in for a late lunch on a Wednesday and there were only a handfull of people so I cant comment much on the vibe but its spacious and looks like it could be a fun place to hang out. I decided in the Guinness burger paired with a Guinness. It was deliciuos. Perfectly cooked, juicy and flavorful. The fries had a nice seasoning and I loved the Sriracha ketchup. I hope to come back soon to try another delicious burger.

Would like to start off by saying we usually love this restaurant and location in Lubbock because we live close by and service during the day is always great! However this is the second time me and my family has gone in to eat in the evening and it has been a shit show. The bartender has pulled us out of line to seat us and take our order at the table which is nice instead of having to wait in a long line to order. Both times she has reeked of alcohol and acted like she was under the influence of something slurring and stumbling around. I usually wouldn't mind or say anything to get anyone in trouble but after last night I am fed up with the very poor and incompetent service we receive. We went in to eat before our movie and waited over 30 minutes just for them to tell us they had no knowledge of our food order or name card we were given being placed. The manager was super apologetic and nice trying to find and figure out what happened with our order but had no luck and my husband was pissed and we had to leave without our kids eating dinner before our movie. This is not what we know or expected out of this place and do not look forward to going back if this is the service and treatment we get with drunk staff not taking care of us or able to do their jobs properly allowed to be working under the influence like that. read more

Let me begin with I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. We came in for lunch with a group of about 8 today, all fairly new to twisted root. When you first walk in, you're welcomed in by all of the employees in the front. They were pretty busy so I could tell this was a good spot to be. I love the options they have for meats. I noticed they had different game and I was feeling curious so I had the Venison burger. Kudos to the person who cooked my burger! The guy on the register (Kamren is what it said on the receipt) was so helpful and gave many suggestions for us first timers. I had asked to speak to a manager to let them know how amazing they did and to my surprise I was able to speak with Kim the General manager of the restaurant. She was a very lovely person. Her and her employees made this a wonderful first time experience. We will be coming back for sure. read more

Was looking for a good burger joint and was recommended this place. When you walk in, staff are very friendly and welcome you in. Guy at the register was very helpful with many suggestions. The manager was also great as I witnessed her bartending, helping up front and bussing. Dining room was very clean as well. She also visited our table to see how everything was. Great customer service I've never felt more welcome in an establishment. Now to the food. I got the Millionaire and wow!!! The burger was cooked exactly how it should be, can't tell you how many times I've had a dry burger. Here was not the case!! The tower of onion strings on top of this thing was something I've never seen before. So good!!! The fries were great as well. All in all 10/10 for me. Will definitely be back! What a great experience we had. Came in with my family for lunch and first thing we noticed is they had the windows open. Extremely cool vibe and it opened up the restaurant. The food was fantastic with great flavor. I don't know what it is but the gosh jam it is where it's at. We decided to sit outside on the patio since we had a dog, the sun did start beaming down on us, cool thing is the manager noticed and her and an employee brought us an umbrella for the table. Outstanding service! The pickle bar is always amazing and part of my favorite thing when we come here. Twisted Root will always be my burger place in Lubbock no doubt. read more

I mean absolutely amazing. This will be our Friday night spot when we want a good date night burger. The Gosh jam it was the burger for sure. My wife had the tenders. She's a stickler when it comes to tenders and turns out she loved them. I tried the banana pudding shake and boy can I say it was really good. The manager was really nice as well. Now I like to get in and out in a timely manner. We didn't have wait over 10 min for our food, everything was fresh and service was friendly. I've been coming to this place for 3 years now and it's all you can ask for in a pub with TVs, a jukebox and an outdoor patio. It's a great spot to catch a Warriors game or just grab drinks with friends. Never been a huge Bloody Mary fan, but after watching the bartender make a few here I had to try one and... wow. They're legit. The Spicy Mule also gets the job done. Tons of beer on tap, which just adds to the appeal. Head to the back deck and you can kill a whole day before you even realize it. read more

Can we talk and tell you what we wanna order that's the first thing that made us upset we asked for a new server. Second server was fine. She did a good job, but the food was absolutely atrocious. My daughter got the zinger's tossed and barbecue sauce, but they did not toss them. They drenched them just poured barbecue sauce over the zingers. I got the Californian chicken. It was dry. It was not even hot. The only thing that was hot. Was the Papas I won't return to this establishment anytime soon.

Their buns have such a sweetness to them mixed with a sharp and well-cooked patty, American cheese (a must in a cheeseburger), and their haus sauce that is like a thousand island style sauce that all combines into a delight. It always has a hefty weight to it and a well balanced amount of tomatoes, lettuce, and onions. How do you explain the concept of a burger? It's really just something special. I like coming here for lunch. It's a bar at the end of the day, but their burgers are what make me want to come back. Many times in college, a friend would suggest Bierhaus, and I would tell them yes only if we got there before their kitchen closed because I needed a burger. They also give you a ton of fries. More fries than you'll ever need with a burger. That's awesome. Being in Texas, you see a lot of places offer a patty melt similar to the ones at Whataburger. A lot of places try to make a higher version dupe of a patty melt, and I think it always falls flat, but Bierhaus's does a pretty good job of being its own thing. Thank you for good food, Bierhaus. RIYL: Boorger II. Bierhaus is a great starter bar for a night out as a college kid in Lubbock. I don't think it's a place to end up if you're hitting multiple spots, but I find it endearing as a warm up spot or a one and done on a chill night. The two story indoor space can be loud, but there's a lot of booths for hanging around and chatting, with plenty of TVs. The outdoor patio has a different energy with swings, large tables, and a DJ. They always have a great selection of beers and good deals to go around. It was one of the few bars in Lubbock to offer cans of peebers (PBRs), which was always exciting for me.
