If I could rate this restaurant more than five stars, I would. My husband and I are visiting from Scottsdale Arizona when we looked up the reviews for places near us and this one had the best reviews and I understand why. We ordered Birria tacos, the Cardinal burger, chicken nachos, brussels sprouts and when I say every single dish was the best dish I've ever had for each of those categories I'm not kidding. I am also a lemon drop martini connoisseur and sarah made the best lemon martini I've ever had in my life and was so kind and personable she really made the experience great. I cannot rave enough about how amazing this food and atmosphere is and if you're visiting and you don't try this place you're absolutely missing out.
We were in WS for an event that evening and decided to have a late lunch/early dinner. After finding this place online it looked like it would do the job and we are glad we came in. Due to being in between the two meal rushes it was empty and we had great service immediately. We both got the chicken tinga tacos, which were good aside from a couple things. 1. They lacked salt, the flavor was great but it needed some extra saltiness and 2. The guac was a little suspect. It was very creamy avocado and brownish. Other than that the food was hot and delicious. The sweet potato fries were awesome. Definitely check it out
Allie was THE BEST SERVER EVER!!!! She was accommodating, honest, patient and helpful!!! My chicken fajita wrap was very flavorful! I'm not a fan of tomatoes so I had to pick those out but it was really good!! I tried the soy ginger dressing on my side salad. Yummy!!!! The fries were a little salty so we got them remade without salt. Overall, I'd visit again, only if Allie was my server!!
Went here after work with a co worker and after a long day at work, Twisted Pine absolutely hit the spot! They had a lot of options for vegetarians and great drinks and amazing service too. I got their veggie burger and Mac and cheese both were great, and the drink I got was amazing too. Twisted Pine also offers various THC cocktails as well!
This place haas been on my bucket list for a while now, and finally made it happen. I had read a great many of the reviews, the detailed ones at least, and I had focused on two items, the peppers and the chicken sandwich. I ordered both! The Shishito Peppers were exceptional, and made even better by the flavorful dipping sauce. These Japanese peppers are usually mild, though like any pepper, a rogue can sneak through. The peppers are mild and a bit sweet, and when cooked develop some very nice smokiness, which the dipping sauce builds on. On two other visits, I ordered the Shishito Peppers and the Spicy Lo Mein Salad once and Brussels Sprouts the other, for take out. When at home, put mayo in two small bowls and added Sriracha sauce to one and Frank's Original Hot sauce to the other. Now I had three sauces for the peppers, and all worked well - the heat really added to the flavor. The salad was very tasty as well, and the sprouts were excellent, not overcooked! The chicken sandwich is a busy sucker - a thick filet with a crispy breading, pimento cheese, sharp pickles, and bacon! As I often do with sauces I've not had before, especially if there is a sweet element, I ask for the honey based sauce on the side, and was accommodated! The chicken was very tasty, and a small bit of the honey sauce was fine, but with so much going on with this sandwich, the tastes and textures became all tangled up for me. The pimento cheese in particular seemed to contribute little, but taken by itself it was very nice. The bacon was fine, but then bacon almost always is fine! I basically deconstructed the sandwich and pretty much attack the components separately, combining bites along the way, adding and subtracting with some combos working better than others. You can either work with what you have, or you can rework what you have - done both! As they say, sometimes more is less. Cool place, good service. As with all restaurants, it's a matter of finding out they do that you like - be careful, the staff likes everything here apparently!
I came back with a little bit larger group. We sat outside on the patio, which is a nice space, but they do need some kind of screen toward the street so that the sun doesn't blast people right before dusk. We ordered the Szechuan shishito Peppers for an app again. They are quite good. We also had chips and salsa + guacamole + queso on the table. Good stuff. I'm only reviewing what my family had: I ordered the smoked bologna sandwich with crispy brussels in a balsamic sauce. The brussels are very good, and healthy too. The sandwich is fried bologna and an egg and cheese on sourdough toast. Decent flavors, but the bread was barely toasted and begging to be butter fried just a touch. Missed opportunity there. My wife had a patty melt and hers was about the same, barely toasted. There was a plain burger that was good and shrimp tacos that was also good. There were also a couple orders of waffle fries which were not cooked long enough. Just another minute or two in the frier would have done the trick. Overall for the food, it was a few great things brought down by a few not great things. Maybe it was the time of day (dinner), but these details make the difference. We had Millie as our server, and she was amazing. Very friendly and despite the busy hour, we never had to wonder where things were. She deserves an award!
Yum!!!! My family stayed in Winston-Salem on the way to the beach and we stopped here for dinner. Everything was delish!! Good portion sizes, great service, and yummy margaritas. Will definitely be back if we are in town again.
I went to Twisted Pine for the first time to catch up with a friend. Pros: The location is in the perfect location and walking distance to everything downtown and on a happening street with abundant outdoor and indoor seating. I loved the casual but elevated ambiance of the restaurant. I went on a Wednesday evening and it was pretty busy during dinner time. They have daily specials on weekdays. The service was also pretty quick! This chicken fajita wrap was also decent. Cons: the Brussels sprouts were overdone and pretty charred. The food was pretty good but nothing special, and honestly the portions did not meet the price. I felt like I was still a little hungry even after I left. Would I go back? Given how expensive it was compared to the amount of food you get and that the food was nothing special, I'd only go back if maybe a group of friends wanted to come here because the ambiance is so great.
Service was solid and friendly. The ambience is fine. It is loud on a Saturday night. The food was a disappointment. I had a burger and fries which seemed like they had been sitting out a while. The margarita was good-appreciate the blackberry purée.
The tacos were okay. For the price, I expected more flavor,there is hot sauce but they dont carry the traditional green or red sauce eaten with tacos. We got greeted right away but it took them around 40 minutes to serve us what we ordered and one drink. I ordered 1 order of tacos which came with 3 shrimp tacos, side brussel spouts and one drink.
Lots of great food and service in downtown Winston Salem this past weekend. Mackenzie at Twisted Pine (very nice and attentive): House Margaritas with salt and Tahin rims, Hot Honey Chicken sandwich with waffle fries, The Patty Melt with sweet potato waffle fries and we took home two Country Cobb Salads. We sat outside and we were lucky to get a parking space in their shared lot.
I'm a little torn at this rating the place is very nice well laid out nice and clean, and bright. The 2 bartenders our servers were very good attentive and helpful. My wife had shrimp tacos which she said were very good. I had the Birria this is where my disappoint come in very blah Birria under seasoned. Plenty of food, brushes are great. I do prefer some spice and heat in my Birria.
They've been on my list to try for a while now, but on my first occasion stopping in on a stroll I was turned off by those prices. You can see for yourself on the menu I posted, the prices are obscene. I know prices are crazy everywhere but find a way to get these prices down. $17 for fried chicken and mac and cheese on a taco is wild. Prices on the smash burgers are also unacceptable for me. I ended up getting a beer on tap and leaving. If I hear the prices come down to earth, maybe I'll give another try to eat. I did like the vibe inside, and the server behind the bar was fast and friendly - at least as fast and friendly as you can be to serve someone a beer and a menu, I guess.

Finally made it to Twisted Pine and I'm so glad we did, the food was amazing. We sat outside since it was an usually warm night for fall. Our server was meh, he wasn't friendly, but did his job. The manager was great and very accommodating. I had the Birria Tacos with chips and pico de gallo, it was delicious, the pico was so fresh. My sis had the bologna sandwich and she loved it. My husband had the shrimpy tacos with greens (the greens were great) and he loved the tacos. The servings were plentiful especially for tacos. I can't wait to go back to try the Mushroom Punch smash burger on the menu looked amazing. I'll definitely be back. read more

Love this spot! We sat outside and it was the perfect little out door area. My husband and I split the Fumo tacos and the El Guapo burger. The tacos were good but the El Guapo burger took the prize this time! The flavor combo went together so well and the burger was cooked perfectly. I liked the tacos, which were STUFFED with lots of ingredients, but I did feel like they were a little dry. I would probably ask to add avocado and ask for extra of the chipotle ranch next time. Both our sides were tasty and I also got a raspberry margarita which aa so fresh and delicious! I love the variety of options on this menu ESPECIALLY the appetizers. We didn't get any this time since we went for lunch and didn't want to get too stuffed but will definitely be back to try out that smoked corn and chorizo dip! Parking can be tricky around here so make sure to check out the little parking area next to the restaurant which is designated for people that dine here! read more
I finally made it in to the Twisted Pine which is one of the restaurants owned by veteran restaurateur Adam Andrews, a well known name in the Winston food community. Listen, when I give 4 stars that's a solid vote of approval. I found Twisted Pine to be a fun place to go for a casual but creative meal. They offer an eclectic mix of burgers, sandwiches, salads and tacos along with hot honey chicken, Mac and cheese and and even a curry dish. We decided to try burgers on this trip but will return soon because I want to try the street corn and chorizo dip, birria tacos and their signature wedge salad. As a bonus, a lot of the produce is grown on the Andrew's farm, can't get more local than that! We also liked that they give you an option when choosing your sides. I recommend popping in when you want a great drink (we watched the bartender creating drinks with skill), and some fun, fresh food. read more
We arrived shortly after 4pm on a Saturday afternoon in late July. The parking lot was full when we arrived but we were able to find a spot on the same block easily. We walked through the door and were immediately impressed with the overall feel and décor. Rustic and industrial which is something both my wife and I gravitate towards. The hostess immediately greeted us and took us to a small table close to the bar area. There were only a few tables seated when we arrived and our server stopped in right away and took our drink orders. We asked him about some of their most popular items as well as his favorites. He mentioned the birria tacos, shrimp tacos and ribs among the most popular. He also left a short list of daily specials with us while we got familiar with the menu. Ultimately, I decided to try the birria tacos with mac and cheese as my side. My wife chose the Southern Bell sandwich, with fried green tomatoes, bacon and lettuce sandwich (minus the red pepper aioli) on grilled sourdough bread and waffle fries from the daily specials menu. My wife inquired with our server asking if they were connected to the Young Cardinal Café. Our server told us that yes, they were connected. In addition, they also have the Trophy Room and Dogwood Hops & Crops just down the block. He also mentioned Jeffrey Adams which is not a restaurant we are familiar with most likely because we are not fine dining people. Our food arrived in a timely manner and looked delicious. I immediately dug into the mac and cheese and thought it was very good! The birria tacos were oozing with juicy meat, cheese, cilantro and onion and also tasted very yummy. My wife enjoyed her sandwich as well, the bacon was thick and the fried green tomatoes were fried to perfection. She was disappointed that the lettuce on the sandwich was shredded versus big and leafy which would have been her preference. They have a beautiful space with an elevated menu, in our opinion, the menu items should have crisp, beautiful lettuce, not shredded iceberg. Our server checked on us throughout our meal and brought us to go containers when I needed to pack up the remaining tacos and mac and cheese. I am looking forward to leftovers! Overall, this was a great stop and we would recommend to others, we will be back! read more
I can't understand why this place isn't packed! The food was delicious, the drinks made just right, and the service was amazing. Seating was immediate on a Friday evening and although the place was nearly empty, we chose to sit at the bar. The bartender was very attentive (can't remember his name!). I had the birria tacos at his suggestion, and my husband, the shrimp tacos. We started off with the queso and chorizo dip. Everything was so good!! The pineapple-jalapeño margaritas were so good that I had two! Twisted Pine will definitely be added to our rotation of restaurants to visit in the Winston Salem area! read more

I was sadly disappointed for my first visit in the quality and taste of the food other than the cheese curds. My wife had the wrap and was unimpressed and felt there was a bit too much Smokey taste especially with the dark meat. I had the El Guopo smash burger and while the description sounded incredibly, it lacked flavor beyond the lettuce. The meat also tasted like it was cooked a few hours early and was being kept warm on the flattop. Later in the night I had the worse heartburn imaginable. Leanne was an amazing server! The food was delicious from the cheese curds to the burgers and fries. I had the young cardinal - I just wish the egg was a bit more runny. Other than that this was pretty much perfect! The cheese curds are delish but they are pretty much a big glob so a fork is necessary. read more

We had an absolutely wonderful meal at Twisted Pine for cinco de Mayo! Firstly, the service was great and the interior is such a vibe. I loves the athletic. The space was also super clean. The food and drink I was very pleased with. Probably one of the best margaritas I've had and the shishito peppers were the best I've had. The sauce that came with them was phenomenal. I got the build your own tacos with pork belly as my entree and because I could build my own, I had all my favorite things on there. Plus a huge portion so I had dinner for another night when I took my leftovers home. The lo mein noodle salad was a great, fresh accompaniment. We also had the birria tacos which were delightful. The birria was extremely flavorful. I've heard the birria tacos, mac and cheese, and cheese curds are great so I cant wait to come back for another visit! read more
I've been to Twisted Pine several times since it opened. The first couple visits were a little iffy but as time goes on they are getting into the groove. Twisted Pine is a great bistro. I knew that would happen. The owners have a couple of other places around downtown and I love each of them. Twisted Pine has great appetizers. The burgers are as good as you would get in fancy burger resturant in a big city. The entrees and tacos are always great. There is a garden next to the parking lot. They grow some of the ingredients in that garden so you know they are fresh. They like to try new things and change the menu up a little now and again, so you will never get board if you come back often. I just hope they don't take the cheese curds off the menu. read more
My son treated us to dinner on Wednesday at Twisted Pine, he had been there before and said it was really good. Parking is on the street and in a lot next to it. The space itself was well-lit and open and full of pine and good seating, both in a bar area and with tables. We were seated right away and the menu choices all looked good with decent prices. I choose the Birria Tacos, three and a choice of sides, for me it was the grilled Shishito peppers. The food came out fairly quickly and my plate looked awesome. The peppers had a dipping sauce that was a combination of teriyaki and smoked flavors. The tacos were excellent as well as the dipping sauce that went with them, that dish was $14.00 yesterday which was a great price and I couldn't finish the tacos because of the richness but wish I could have and my son was eager to help out...well he paid so enjoy...lol read more

House salad with grilled chicken was really good. First time venturing away from the southwest Caesar and it didnt disappoint. Service is always great here. Fairly quiet on a wednesday night only a few other diners inside. read more
A friend recommended Twisted Pine so downtown we headed! First- When we walked in the door, the hostess was on the phone taking an order. Because she could not properly greet us, David jumped right in and welcomed us! Immediately, you could feel the teamwork vibe! Very cool! Immediately after getting us settled in the veranda, David was there to take our drink orders. In a flash, he was back! So much enthusiasm! Single-handedly, David is the reason we will be back! You can get good food anywhere-it is hard to find good help!!! Especially help that genuinely understands customer service and attention to all of the details at once! I ordered the El Guapo burger. If you like a really flavorful burger dripping with glorious fixings, this is your burger! My daughter ordered the Golden Curry Delight bowl. If you love curry, you will love this bowl! You can order it with Crispy Tofu, Grilled Chicken, Flank Steak, Pork Belly, or Shrimp. See you again soon! Definitely earned 10 stars today!!! read more
This week I tried this restaurant because my son highly recommended it and it was every bit the hype. I got the avocado hummus and red pepper sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries that came with a delicious dipping sauce. The sandwich was on the thin side but I still really enjoyed it, it had a great flavor to it. My husband got birria tacos and said it was great. My son's smash burger looked very satisfying. Prices were pretty decent and the restaurant was so cool looking decked out in Pine and modern touches. Parking was easy too since it's not only on the street but they also have their own side parking lot. Staff was so nice. I'll definitely come back. read more

I'm giving this place 5 stars and here's why. The atmosphere was great and our server was amazing as well. There was a large party inside and it took us forever to get our food. When I ordered my second beer, they comped it since our food was taking too long. I got the chicken fajita wrap and my chicken was undercooked. They comped that as well and gave us a $25 gift card. They were very apologetic. My husband's meal was great and my son enjoyed his. Yes my food was under cooked but the way they handled it was very professional. We'll be back. read more

Would you believe it if I said that the twisted pine has the best margaritas in downtown Winston Salem. No kidding- it is delicious and for a great price. We had the nachos with shredded beef which was good with fresh ingredients. Jalapeños or a spicy cheese would have set it apart for sure. The shrimps tacos were very good. Would have loved if they came with Mexican rice (flavored) instead of jasmine rice. Overall an experience that we will go back to experience again. read more

Okay, so this spot was really exciting for me. The menu was really creative and different, there were so many things we wanted to try. My family went for lunch on a Saturday. Our waitress was great, Nikki! She was super helpful and very friendly. We sat outside in their patio. I ordered the Tinga Chicken Tacos (per Nikki's recommendation) with a side salad. I love that they make their dressings and they have their own garden behind their parking lot- in downtown Winston!! My husband ordered the Bbq Burger and our kids had chicken tenders, sides and special drinks. The food was good, but it was not hot. Our waitress was busy bc she was bartending inside, also, so I think it sat longer than it should have. If the food would have been hot, it would have been great and five stars! We WILL definitely be back for a second try bc the sanitation grade is a 98.0 A, the service was great, the menu is different and they try to locally source or grow their own ingredients. It's in a good location, too. Will update my review at our next visit. Do ask for Nikki, she was a great personality and knowledgeable of the menu. It's a neat, funny spot. read more
Truly enjoyed our dinner at Twisted Pine. We didn't exactly know what to expect going in, which is always pretty fun. Come to find we were met with a very well executed fusion menu, and we left with happy taste buds and full bellies. The Michelada was as good or better than any we have had out in California. Perfection! El Guapo, a chorizo burger, was delicious. With the side of the chilled lo mein, it was great blend of flavors you wouldn't expect. 10/10. The Birria was also good, needed a bit more queso, but still was delicious. Our waitress recommended the shishito peppers and they were incredible. Can't wait to go back and try more things on the menu - well done on this concept. read more
Okay let's dive into this brand-spanking new restaurant. First off, the service was spectacular. Our server was so sweet and pleasurable. He recommended the soup - caramelized onion with bacon and crispy Brussels sprouts. AMAZING!!!!! I wish I could put this soup in my veins. The crispy sprouts were the star of the show. Perfect with the creaminess of the soup. Next, I ordered the Liberty Blitz cocktail with vodka rather than gin. I asked for the equivalent level of vodka yet they still had to up charge me $2, making this a $12 drink. A little ridiculous. It was good - but $12 good? Gotta blow me away for that. The Mac n cheese with pulled pork and caramelized onions was my main course and it was delish! I was concerned when I first saw it because the pork didn't have any sauce or glaze. But it wasn't dry and it even had crispy little bits that added texture and flavor. The Mac was cheesy and I love the twisty noodles! The onions added on saved the dish too because I'm obsessed with onions. I'd recommend adding hot sauce or asking for a BBQ sauce for a bit more flavor. Considering they're two days old, I was satisfied and will likely visit again. Even if just to see their soup special lol. read more

: Raspberry margarita 1,000/10 : Fried chicken sandwich with jalapeño pimento cheese fried pickles and bacon 9/10 + house potato chips (they could use more salt + a seasoning) 7/10 : Nick's Pick burger with gorgonzola, pork belly, caramelized onions 8/10 + spicy, chilled lo mein salad 10/10 We enjoyed every bite of our meal and the service was great! Next time I want to try the Mac and cheese with pulled pork! The inside of the restaurant is very clean and has a fun modern vibe. read more
I was downtown last night to see a play at the local theater and decided to try this place for dinner ahead of time. I had heard of this place but had never had the opportunity to go and was happy that I was able to. We got there and we're seated pretty immediately, the waiter was super attentive and got our drinks really quick. The food was really good. I'm very picky but was able to easily find something I liked. I forgot what it was called but it was a hot honey chicken taco with macaroni and cheese on the taco. It will look so good that I started eating before I thought to take a picture. I will definitely be back and recommend anyone in the area to check it out. read more

Twisted Pine offers a cozy dining experience with fast and friendly service in a clean environment. We started with the dip trio appetizer, which was underwhelming, particularly given the $14 price tag for a small portion. I had the birria tacos, which were just okay; they lacked the robust flavor I was expecting. However, the prime rib steak and cheese that my mother-in-law ordered was a hit--she found it very good and satisfying. Overall, while some dishes fell short, the excellent service and cleanliness make Twisted Pine worth a visit. read more
Food was just okay. Service was great, had a really nice server who was on top of everything. The food was reasonably priced, $17 for 3 tacos that are mahi mahi isn't terrible. The corn tortillas were my favorite part because they were nice and thing and not overpowering to the components of the taco. The birria nachos definitely lacked flavor and the weird queso that was poured on top of them kind of tasted like it came out of a can. The birria meat was dry and I was shocked that some consomme wouldn't have been served on the side or something. The queso just really threw us all off and took over the flavor of the already dry birria. My southwest caesar was actually really good and I loved the taste of the chicken. Dressing had a nice kick to it and the romaine lettuce was crunchy and fresh. Always a good sign. Mahi tacos were great, but they literally put the smallest cube of mahi on there that I've ever seen. It was rather confusing, wish there was more granted the profit on that and the size of an actual piece of mahi you would buy at the store. Smashburgers were great and the fries were awesome. Who doesn't love waffle fries? Perfect for dipping. The inside was decorated really unique and there was lots of hand painted artwork on the wall which gave it an edgy vibe. The bar lacked variety for sure and had a rather small selection and even our server said, "we don't have much." I guess this place was alright, could definitely improve in some areas, but I probably won't come back. read more
Came for lunch on a Saturday. Was able to sit outside because it was perfect out. Love they remodeled the outside seating to have a covered area!!! Service was great! Have you ever tried a place and you just know it's going to be a regular on your restaurant rotation? That was my experience recently with Twisted Pine. I've heard a lot of buzz around Twisted Pine lately so naturally I had to check it out myself. I used stop by pretty regularly when this restaurant was Crafted (RIP Winston location) and I love this area, so I was excited to see that this spot has been given a new opportunity. We stopped by on a Friday evening right before the crowds came in. The inside looks really nice and clean but it was beautiful out so we opted to sit outside in the patio area. We started with the dip trio appetizer which we devoured while we decide what meals to get. The waiter was patient with us while we made our decision and also gave great advice on what to go with. When I say everything on the menu sounds delicious, I mean everything. It was a tough choice but we both wanted to try the tacos so we went with the birria tacos (because, duh) and the shrimp tacos, with sides of cheesy grits and spicy lo mien. The birria tacos were honestly some of the best I've ever had. Super flavorful yet simple. The shrimp tacos were also amazing. They were sweet, tangy, and incredibly fresh. Don't even get me started on the spicy lo mien salad. I was hesitant to get that as a side with tacos, but it was delicious and it just works. Trust me. We wanted to get dessert but we were way too full since each taco order comes with 3 tacos. Next time though, which I'm sure will be soon. read more
Coming in, I'm gonna say I had low expectations. I'm not a huge Jeffrey Adams fan-I know, it's gonna get me kicked out of Winston! But my friend wanted to try Twisted Pine and I was ready. This shows how good the food was: I went in, fully intending to review and take photos. And I ATE FIRST, no lies. 1) Cheese curds. As a Wisconsinite, I'm picky picky picky. These were AMAZING! Good cheese, little squeak when you bite in, but the fry was so light and not greasy. 10/10, would order again 2) Shrimpy tacos. The only reason these are getting a slightly lower score (8/10) was the overwhelming 'fishy' smell from the tacos, and the dull note of too sweet from pico and not enough other flavors. The shrimp was cooked well, seasoned fine, but the tacos definitely needed a bit of something SPICY to liven them up. I hit them with some Texas Pete and they were pretty nice! 3) Mac and cheese side. Good, and, I couldn't imagine having a dish of this! Super rich and great cheese to noodle ratio, but again just one note-nothing a little pepper and hot sauce couldn't shape up. Am I a Jeffrey Adams restaurant convert? Not completely. Will I try others again and give another shot because if Twisted Pine? Yes! Service was great, timely, and not too much. Good work! read more

I'm rounding this up to a 4! The food was good and it's got a great nice ambiance/decor, but service was just a bit slow (not unfriendly though). I came here with a friend on a Monday and it was a lot busier than I expected. We were seated at a 6-person high top and given menus right away. Our waiter brought us some water and then returned later to take our orders. I got the birriaquesadilla with mac and cheese and my friend went with the chicken tinga tacos and sweet potato fries. It took awhile to come out, but again, it was pretty busy, but it was worth the wait. We both really enjoyed our dishes. The quesadilla was a good portion. The meat was very tender/juicy, I would have liked some dip/sauce options though, or even just a cup of the broth. The mac and cheese was alright, but nothing spectacular. My friend enjoyed her tacos and fries too. I'm not big on fries, but I did try one, and with the sauce, it was pretty good. I do think it's just borderline on the pricy side, but overall a good experience. I think I saw a margarita flight being delivered to another table, so I would definitely come back to try that! read more

Highly recommend Twisted Pine! Great service, great food, cool atmosphere and clean restrooms. We came in for lunch and throughly enjoyed ourselves. We ordered a chicken wrap, Philly cheese sandwich and shrimp tacos. Yum! read more

I feel it's necessary to update my review from 5 stars to... 5 stars! I can't stop eating here. They are probably my favorite spot in Winston-Salem right now. They have such an amazing menu, where genuinely everything sounds appealing. Centered around burgers and tacos - this is a winning combination. I been just around a year, maybe less that they've been open, but it really took no time to get their footing. Twisted Pine comes from the same owners that brought you Jeffrey Adams and Young Cardinal Cafe, so they're no strangers to delicious food and excellent service. It's worth noting the sheer consistency of greatness here. They're not missing a beat. I have had great service and great food at every visit. They switched a few items on the menu recently (time of this review - 8/3/23) with the rollout of the summer menu. They kept classics like the birria tacos and the Young Cardinal burger, but added some changes and new items. My favorite of the new items is the shrimpy tacos! YUM!!! One of the best shrimp tacos I've had. The shrimp are so succulent and well seasoned. All the toppings are cohesive and it was just a downright awesome bite every time. One of my friends ordered them this time but without the tortillas, basically like a bowl. They were happy to accommodate and it looked delicious! I finally tried a burger on this visit and went with the Young Cardinal burger. Ummmm, whoa! This smash burger was still juicy AF, cheesy to boot, loaded with thick bacon and a fried egg - the addition of hash browns rounded out the breakfast flavor and added a great texture. Overall just a great burger! I'm always super impressed with their appetizers as well! 2 items that thankfully stayed from the first menu are the shishito peppers and the cheese curds. Both of these are absolute winners! I also continue to be appreciative of their portion sizes! Their prices are around par for similar restaurants in the area, but the portion sizes definitely exceed the average. I also ordered the appetizer special on this visit, which was jalapeño poppers. These were the best poppers I've had! The peppers were so fresh, you could taste it. Great crunchy breading, and full of melty cheese. A quite perfect execution in my opinion. Let's not forget their super delicious and very reasonably priced margaritas! My personal favorite is classic Margarita with the tajin rim, but they have fun flavors like raspberry, strawberry, blackberry and pomegranate. These are flavorful but not syrupy. They pack just the right punch and they have drink specials daily! Also they are open on Mondays which is nice if you're looking for a Monday option! They have also recently opened a spacious patio with giant fans! I imagine they would probably have heaters in the winter? Super spacious. Twisted Pine is not just a new kid on the block- they're serving up seriously delicious eats with expertise that will thrive in downtown Winston-Salem! read more

I grabbed a late dinner with a friend last Thursday and to our surprise it wasn't busy at all. If Birria tacos are on the menu that's always what I'll order. They were good but a bit dry for my taste. The sauce was absolutely delicious though! I ordered waffle fries for the side and honestly-they were so plain. I should've chosen differently. However, my friend ordered the hot honey chicken that came with greens + Mac and cheese and it was absolutely fantastic! I'll definitely order differently next time. read more

First time and will definitely be coming back!! It was nice atmosphere and was very clean and inviting. It has outdoor seating options as well. We had the smoked bologna sandwich, shrimp tacos and birria tacos and the dip trio nachos appetizer. The food was delicious, hot, and fresh!! The menu has a nice variety of food from tacos to hamburgers to fresh salads and more so it's easy to accommodate any palate. Our server David was incredible!! He kept our glasses full and was so very pleasant!! They have a private parking lot as well as other parking options all around. I would highly recommend! read more
