Boulevardier and a Citrus & Sun
    Tanya R.

Came to Winston for a lunch date at The Old 4th Street Filling Station and left with another great experience at Joyner's. Joyner's has a great selection of bourbons and whiskeys and that's exactly what I was in the mood for! My partner ordered a gin bevvy from their new cocktail menu and I chose the classic Boulevardier. Both drinks were made quickly and were perfectly crafted by the mixologist. My boulevardier was served on large cubes and was boozy and bitter, just like I like it. My partner's drink was light, refreshing, citrus forward, and served up. Now, where to sit and relax with your delicious cocktail? There's a quirky room located in the back (giving speakeasy vibes), large booths, a few small tables by the windows, and tables outside. This time, we decided to take our cocktails and sit by the window so we could watch the locals pass by with their pups. We felt so comfortable and relaxed-it's hard to have just one! Joyner's is always our go-to spot for a cocktail when we are downtown WS. I missed out on snapping a photo of their new cocktail menu, so go check it out for yourself!

Perfect combo of cozy and classy. Ordered an espresso martini and it was excellent - smooth and balanced, and just the right kick of coffee without being overly sweet. You can tell they know their cocktails here! Service was friendly and attentive, the space itself feels warm and inviting with a relaxed, lounge type vibe. It's the kind of spot that works just as well for a casual drink as it does for a more dressed up night out. Great find for cocktails!

We met some friends here for pre-dinner drinks and this was the perfect place! Pros: We got there around 5pm on a Saturday and got a pretty big booth to fit all of us! They had a great cocktail menu, but the bartenders were also very accommodating to other requests (like my dirty martini). I personally liked that there wasn't loud music at this bar during our visit so that it was still easy to talk to our friends. I've seen on their board outside that sometimes on weekdays they even have fun events happening, which I'd love to try someday. Cons: all of our drinks took a little longer to make, which didn't bother me because we were there for a while, but I'd make sure you take that into account if going with a bigger group or need to account for time. Would I go back? Yes, absolutely! They made great drinks and is also in a great location to walk to nearby restaurant afterwards.

The drinks are amazing and very high end! The service is great and the bartenders are very attentive! The vibes are classy and it feels like a speakeasy as soon as you walk in!

What a wonderful bar to come in with friends and enjoy a very chill time. The eclectic decor and comfortable seating helps to make your time there to be memorable. A definite stop for those looking for a unique place to have an evening out.

Such a great evening tonight. Perfect speak easy vibe here. They had different cozy rooms and so much comfortable seating. You are truly transported to the past, you have to come here to fully appreciate it. Drinks are great and so are the staff.

I usually love their Mocktail but I did order the one on the menu this time vs having the bartender use their own creativity. The Mocktail in my opinion was lacking flavor and really just tasted like sparkling water. The drinks are always so pretty and I love the environment. A few more Na options would be great though!

Had a great time at Joyner's bar and for the special event they hosted with Yelp!! Service was amazing, drinks were amazing, and atmosphere and friends were fun all night!!

Great cozy atmosphere for an after work drink! Love the vibe of this place with soft leather chairs and warm lighting. You can also tuck into a little booth for something more intimate. If you prefer outdoor seating there are a few spots out on the sidewalk. If you sit up front by the windows the music can be a little loud...but that's offset by the great people watching! Nice seasonal selection of craft cocktails plus your standard offerings plus beer and wine. Bartenders are friendly and obviously enjoy their craft.

We just came for drinks but LOVED it, it's such a vibe, the drinks were delicious and the perfect amount of alcohol. The decor is really cool, I loved the books and brick. We didn't go upstairs but with the right company it's still fun!

I really didn't care for this bar. It was tight in there and the free drink they had tasted a mess, it was nasty and gross. Walked up the long steps you go to the upstairs bar, it's right up there as well with big chairs. Once it gets crowded it gets hot. It needs more air circulation up there. I did like the sink tho. The event itself was great.

It's giving speakeasy--but once you're inside, good luck making it to the bathroom without dodging a full-blown dance party. Not totally sure if it's a lounge or a club at this point. The Riesling is my favorite wine to get here, and the bartenders are always on point. That said, not sure if I'll be back--I'm really looking for more chill vibes these days.

Drinks were fine, but the bar tender was not helpful. The prices were too high for poor service.

The day I came in was my very first visit and it was pretty quiet and not busy at all. So if you need a quiet place to chill try to arrive around 5:30 or thereabouts. This place serves very unique beverages and appetizers. I'm told some of the wines are organic as well. It is perfect for a person who wants just a beverage and small plate food. Perfect to start out your adventure for the evening or if you need just a late night snack. They stay open till 10pm but check first as I may not be correct on that. I really like that its open later after most restaurants stop serving food around 9pm. Its kinda dark in there illuminated in low overhead lights and candles on the tables. So perfect for an intimate get together. I will return again to try some different beverages, they have nonalcoholic creative drinks as well as unique beer and wine choices. I would also like to try some more of those small plate appetizers. It all looked good! Friendly service here so a comfortable place to settle in for a bit.

We sampled a little bit of everything: the hot vanilla lattes, the Cubano, the cortado, and an almond croissant that tasted like it floated straight down from pastry heaven. It was excellent. I ordered the usual coffee shop, staple: and oat milk iced mocha latte. I asked for about half of the usual mocha they put in it, but I don't think that it was enough because I could barely taste the chocolate. When I go back, I will get the full serving of chocolate. Other than that, the coffee was delicious and satisfying. My friend got a cappuccino that he said was excellent as well. The place had the most beautiful aroma of freshly roasted coffee. Neither of us got anything to eat, but they did have a couple of options. I'm pretty sure one of them was a croissant of some sort and we will have to try that when we go back.

It was standing room only this evening, and we had to park it near the door near the food truck. Being near the door in February, my daughter was getting cold. A woman came over, propped the door OPEN, and proceeded to video the band from half way out the door. She said something to my daughter about her being cold, which my daughter was honest about, but was ignored as she continued to video. As any father would do, I stepped in and asked to close the door as my family is cold, and went back to where I was standing. She proceeded to get in my face and say, "I'm the OWNER here and I'm getting a video" and went back to what she was doing. No I'm sorry, no recognition of her patron's needs. Just complete dismissal and rudeness. Needless to say, we didn't spend another nickel there, and never will. We left and will never be back as long as someone with that view of their patrons is still in charge. Zero stars for service and ownership regardless of how good their product may be. No thanks, Karen.
