Hence not tried their food yet but this was the second time we visited this venue. Bobby was freaking fantastic serving everyone in the building. I noticed two other people cleaning up but he did all the drinks with NO HELP! Dude was sweating like crazy with a smile on his face! He made our drinks each time perfectly! We also enjoyed the entertainment of Megan Doss and Alex Ottaway. We will follow them anywhere they sing!! The venue is super cute and well decorated. Their drinks are creative also.

Love the New Orleans vibes. Always have NOLA staples + seasonal cocktails. Fun events as well. Check it out after dinner at the Porch!

One of my favorite bars to visit when I'm in Winston. It's a neat little New Orleans themed Tap House and Venue.

Stopped here for a nightcap. I love the location and the staff is always a lot of fun and friendly. They also have great music, which makes me happy and different games you can play such as putt-putt, Jenga, checkers, etc. I also noticed they offer pizza which is newer since the last time I was there at the end of last year.

Too many good things happening but I'll try to hit the 5 star highlights. Service- some of THE nicest and most accommodating bar tenders we have encountered. Always great attitude, amazing customer service- not sure how they do it day in and out but they do. Hats off. Great vibe. Chill inside with the AC In Summer if you need to. Sit outside In Their beautiful outdoor area if it's not too hot- Lots of shade! Ping pong back and forth as weather dictates- up to you. Enjoy pool or a table board game inside. Dog friendly- tons of well behaved doggos lounging inside. Drinks- wow. They know craft beer. Follow them on untapped. If you are a liquor drinker they have those too- frozen or on the rocks complete with plastic alligators. And drink specials- whoa- some of the BEST in WS really unheard of In these LGB times . No food - but you can easily carry in from West End Poke, Hops or order online from The Porch literally 5 steps away- they also offer various food trucks so follow follow follow on social media and support them. Love BN- we are becoming super fans quickly and for good reason.

I don't know much about New Orleans culture, but seemed pretty authentic. It was definitely fun! The inside looks great. We went on a Sunday afternoon and they had live music in the middle of the day. While it was a little loud inside for a Sunday funday hang out, the band was great. For drinks I had a couple beers and my wife went In for a mixed drink. The beer choices were pretty diverse and included plenty of local brews along with some Nola craft beer. My wife's came with an alligator in it! We noticed a basket later where people were throwing the plastic gators in like mixed drink gator basketball. Fun stuff. I can't wait to go back and try a sazarec. They didn't have food, but it's next door to the Porch for a meal. Overall great new place in Winston and I can't wait to get back!

Yes. Yes. Yes. This was the kind of place we wish we knew about when we had friends come visit. So chill, so fun, great music, even better beer. My husband chatted with the owner some and he was a genuine guy. We really look forward to coming back here! (Plus we had our baby and people weren't weird about it)

This is a great New Orleans themed bar! It's just what Winston-Salem needed to add to the bar scene. We stopped in on a Friday night. There wasn't any seating available, but we found a cocktail barrel table to stand at, and it worked just fine. We ordered a Hurricane and a VooDoo Punch. Both were delicious! I wasn't expecting the punch to be frozen but I still enjoyed it. Next time I'll go for the Swamp Water so I can get the alligator in my drink! I think that's so fun. The decor is perfect. They really did the theming right! There's also beers on draft and other drinks in cans available in case you aren't in the mood for a signature drink. I highly recommend you stop in. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is space which I realize they don't have much control over, but some extra tables and seating in general would be really nice for peak hours. Nicely done, Bar Nola!

Very cool vibe at this new Bar in town, nice huge space, very much capturing the New Orleans bar look. Great bar area, and plenty of seating around the space, all spaced well apart. Great chalk board menu board of specials and cocktails. They have a great selection of beers and wine, and a full bar. Owned by a husband and wife team, I think they've done a fabulous job of introducing something new and in a great area, where there wasn't anything like this. The husband was tending bar the night we went, and is a great super friendly guy. I wish them all the success with this venture! My friend had a couple of vodka sodas, and I had a gin and tonic, not bad prices too. No food here it's strictly a bar, but The porch is across the way which is where we headed after. The music was also great here I have to say, huge variety of different stuff. Also impressed with how clean it was. Very important! Will definitely be back here and I hope you all go check it out. Nice new spot to hang out or just grab a drink. Bar Nola welcome to Winston!

Sangria fizz and Hurricane
Elizabeth R.

This place has a lot of hype. You will be sorely disappointed if you expect to feel like you are in New Orleans except for the singular wall with a NOLA mural and menu of drinks. The sangria fizz was good for a one drink limit but too much with more than one. I was told the Hurricane is incredibly sweet. There was a live band the night we were there which was overwhelmingly loud and led to tons of shouting and sore throats by the end of the night. The staff was good and the bouncer necessary later in the night. Try it out and make your own decision.

Today, I went to Oasis at the Mill for a delicious Velvet Fog chaga- & kava-infused drink. I also booked a Vibro-Acoustic Therapy session for the first time! I was asked what I was feeling to experience energetically out of the various programs available and I chose "Release". I didn't know what to expect and it turned out to be quite profound and healing on many levels so I want to share my experience. I was taken to a beautiful dark teal room with Tibetan prayer flags overhead...tranquil and inviting. I put on some padded headphones while the program was being initiated, and made myself comfortable on my back on an ergonomically sculpted bed. Resonant music came through the headphones as the bed began to vibrate and undulate, my back and legs receiving a massage-like experience as my entire body felt the resonance of sound healing. My first impression was feeling I was a garden being tilled...old stagnant energy was being lifted and shaken and I felt a renewed energy pouring through me. In time, I connected my experience with the elements, grounding energy of Earth, sinking and flowing as Water, lifting and moving in spirals as Air, and the warmth and blaze of Fire...as these blended into Spirit I began to journey and fell into what felt like a sleep state. I came out of the sleep state as the resonance shifted, and it gently brought me to stillness over several minutes, softening and slowing until the program ended. I felt refreshed and renewed and was already deciding that "Oh, I have to do this on a regular basis!" And, the fact that there are programs to access many energetic states is so exciting! I can say from the bottom of my freshly renewed heart, DO try this new healing opportunity at Oasis at the Mill! It is truly extraordinary!

Chosen family- John has been family to the brides side since before she was born. We arrived at 3pm on a cool, fall Saturday in November. The grounds beg to be explored, the history of the house has secrets in her stairwells and rooms. The architecture breathtaking. We waited by the koi pond until it was time to take our seats in the lower garden for the ceremony. Cocktail hour was outside as well and the temperature was dropping. We couldn't wait to get inside for dinner. Well- it wasn't much warmer indoors. The dining area was split between two rooms, one of which was a sun room- all glass doors around the room. The interior room had a giant fireplace blazing in the center. We sat in the outer room- my shawl stayed on throughout dinner. I wore fleece leggings under my gown because I am always cold, but even that wasn't enough. The staff! They wowed me- from escorting guest to the powder rooms (clear on the other side of the house), to the bartenders making drinks the whole night, to the servers working our side of the dining room. Every member of the staff was beyond helpful and friendly. Amanda and Katherine worked the bar & were fantastic! And the servers I encountered all hustled while helping the guests- Christian, Dylan & Kelton were on our dining room team. Special shout out to all of them, they made a great impression. Food- fresh salad and warm dinner rolls were set down first. Wine glasses filled & water glass too. John and I both opted for steak as our main- cooked perfectly and I know that's not easy when catering an event. The whipped potatoes and green beans perfection. The table were set beautifully. The dance floor was in the pool room, the put the floor down right over it! Which was comical because of the bounce in the floors once the dancing began. Being cold the whole time, I couldn't wait for the dj to turn it up. They had the doors open for the dance floor room leading out to the lower gardens where the nuptials were earlier. At this point the sun had set and all of the guest were cold. That was my only complaint- we needed heat for cocktail hour and definitely heat for dinner. Once the dancing began, I warmed up quickly & even had to take 10 outside, without my shawl, to cool down! The festivities were to go on till 10:30pm, but some of us more seasoned guests departed before that. I really hope to come back and explore the estate in the future.
