If I could rate this restaurant more than five stars, I would. My husband and I are visiting from Scottsdale Arizona when we looked up the reviews for places near us and this one had the best reviews and I understand why. We ordered Birria tacos, the Cardinal burger, chicken nachos, brussels sprouts and when I say every single dish was the best dish I've ever had for each of those categories I'm not kidding. I am also a lemon drop martini connoisseur and sarah made the best lemon martini I've ever had in my life and was so kind and personable she really made the experience great. I cannot rave enough about how amazing this food and atmosphere is and if you're visiting and you don't try this place you're absolutely missing out.
We were in WS for an event that evening and decided to have a late lunch/early dinner. After finding this place online it looked like it would do the job and we are glad we came in. Due to being in between the two meal rushes it was empty and we had great service immediately. We both got the chicken tinga tacos, which were good aside from a couple things. 1. They lacked salt, the flavor was great but it needed some extra saltiness and 2. The guac was a little suspect. It was very creamy avocado and brownish. Other than that the food was hot and delicious. The sweet potato fries were awesome. Definitely check it out
Allie was THE BEST SERVER EVER!!!! She was accommodating, honest, patient and helpful!!! My chicken fajita wrap was very flavorful! I'm not a fan of tomatoes so I had to pick those out but it was really good!! I tried the soy ginger dressing on my side salad. Yummy!!!! The fries were a little salty so we got them remade without salt. Overall, I'd visit again, only if Allie was my server!!
Went here after work with a co worker and after a long day at work, Twisted Pine absolutely hit the spot! They had a lot of options for vegetarians and great drinks and amazing service too. I got their veggie burger and Mac and cheese both were great, and the drink I got was amazing too. Twisted Pine also offers various THC cocktails as well!
This place haas been on my bucket list for a while now, and finally made it happen. I had read a great many of the reviews, the detailed ones at least, and I had focused on two items, the peppers and the chicken sandwich. I ordered both! The Shishito Peppers were exceptional, and made even better by the flavorful dipping sauce. These Japanese peppers are usually mild, though like any pepper, a rogue can sneak through. The peppers are mild and a bit sweet, and when cooked develop some very nice smokiness, which the dipping sauce builds on. On two other visits, I ordered the Shishito Peppers and the Spicy Lo Mein Salad once and Brussels Sprouts the other, for take out. When at home, put mayo in two small bowls and added Sriracha sauce to one and Frank's Original Hot sauce to the other. Now I had three sauces for the peppers, and all worked well - the heat really added to the flavor. The salad was very tasty as well, and the sprouts were excellent, not overcooked! The chicken sandwich is a busy sucker - a thick filet with a crispy breading, pimento cheese, sharp pickles, and bacon! As I often do with sauces I've not had before, especially if there is a sweet element, I ask for the honey based sauce on the side, and was accommodated! The chicken was very tasty, and a small bit of the honey sauce was fine, but with so much going on with this sandwich, the tastes and textures became all tangled up for me. The pimento cheese in particular seemed to contribute little, but taken by itself it was very nice. The bacon was fine, but then bacon almost always is fine! I basically deconstructed the sandwich and pretty much attack the components separately, combining bites along the way, adding and subtracting with some combos working better than others. You can either work with what you have, or you can rework what you have - done both! As they say, sometimes more is less. Cool place, good service. As with all restaurants, it's a matter of finding out they do that you like - be careful, the staff likes everything here apparently!
I came back with a little bit larger group. We sat outside on the patio, which is a nice space, but they do need some kind of screen toward the street so that the sun doesn't blast people right before dusk. We ordered the Szechuan shishito Peppers for an app again. They are quite good. We also had chips and salsa + guacamole + queso on the table. Good stuff. I'm only reviewing what my family had: I ordered the smoked bologna sandwich with crispy brussels in a balsamic sauce. The brussels are very good, and healthy too. The sandwich is fried bologna and an egg and cheese on sourdough toast. Decent flavors, but the bread was barely toasted and begging to be butter fried just a touch. Missed opportunity there. My wife had a patty melt and hers was about the same, barely toasted. There was a plain burger that was good and shrimp tacos that was also good. There were also a couple orders of waffle fries which were not cooked long enough. Just another minute or two in the frier would have done the trick. Overall for the food, it was a few great things brought down by a few not great things. Maybe it was the time of day (dinner), but these details make the difference. We had Millie as our server, and she was amazing. Very friendly and despite the busy hour, we never had to wonder where things were. She deserves an award!
Yum!!!! My family stayed in Winston-Salem on the way to the beach and we stopped here for dinner. Everything was delish!! Good portion sizes, great service, and yummy margaritas. Will definitely be back if we are in town again.
I went to Twisted Pine for the first time to catch up with a friend. Pros: The location is in the perfect location and walking distance to everything downtown and on a happening street with abundant outdoor and indoor seating. I loved the casual but elevated ambiance of the restaurant. I went on a Wednesday evening and it was pretty busy during dinner time. They have daily specials on weekdays. The service was also pretty quick! This chicken fajita wrap was also decent. Cons: the Brussels sprouts were overdone and pretty charred. The food was pretty good but nothing special, and honestly the portions did not meet the price. I felt like I was still a little hungry even after I left. Would I go back? Given how expensive it was compared to the amount of food you get and that the food was nothing special, I'd only go back if maybe a group of friends wanted to come here because the ambiance is so great.
Service was solid and friendly. The ambience is fine. It is loud on a Saturday night. The food was a disappointment. I had a burger and fries which seemed like they had been sitting out a while. The margarita was good-appreciate the blackberry purée.
The tacos were okay. For the price, I expected more flavor, there is hot sauce but they dont carry the traditional green or red sauce eaten with tacos. We got greeted right away but it took them around 40 minutes to serve us what we ordered and one drink. I ordered 1 order of tacos which came with 3 shrimp tacos, side brussel spouts and one drink.
Lots of great food and service in downtown Winston Salem this past weekend. Mackenzie at Twisted Pine (very nice and attentive): House Margaritas with salt and Tahin rims, Hot Honey Chicken sandwich with waffle fries, The Patty Melt with sweet potato waffle fries and we took home two Country Cobb Salads. We sat outside and we were lucky to get a parking space in their shared lot.
I'm a little torn at this rating the place is very nice well laid out nice and clean, and bright. The 2 bartenders our servers were very good attentive and helpful. My wife had shrimp tacos which she said were very good. I had the Birria this is where my disappoint come in very blah Birria under seasoned. Plenty of food, brushes are great. I do prefer some spice and heat in my Birria.
They've been on my list to try for a while now, but on my first occasion stopping in on a stroll I was turned off by those prices. You can see for yourself on the menu I posted, the prices are obscene. I know prices are crazy everywhere but find a way to get these prices down. $17 for fried chicken and mac and cheese on a taco is wild. Prices on the smash burgers are also unacceptable for me. I ended up getting a beer on tap and leaving. If I hear the prices come down to earth, maybe I'll give another try to eat. I did like the vibe inside, and the server behind the bar was fast and friendly - at least as fast and friendly as you can be to serve someone a beer and a menu, I guess.
It's been a while since we have been to Twisted Pine. It did not disappoint! Our server was very friendly and the food was outstanding! I had them Philly Cheese Steak and waffle fries with the Burial Surf Wax Hazy IPA. Twisted Pine does have their own parking lot and there is street parking available. They have two TVs at the bar where you can watch sports etc. read more

We stopped in early on Saturday for lunch. We sat outside since we had our pups and found the fans very helpful!Service was very friendly and attentive. They made sure our pups had water and were so kind to them. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were sizable and delicious. There were so many fun sides and I choose the Brussels which were crispy and tasty. Hubs did the chicken wrap and shishito peppers and they fit the bill. Good spot in downtown Winston. We were also able to find parking fairly easy. read more

We had lunch at Twisted Pine on a Thursday afternoon and everything was excellent! We were seated right away and the service was great. I had the mushroom smash burger and it was absolutely delicious, with a phenomenal pepper side. The nachos were a hit too, and the kid-friendly vibe made it a great spot for the whole family. We'll definitely be back! read more
Houston, we've got a review update! Previously visited here in the summer and gave 3/5 stars solely based on service deficits, but now, it's definitely 5/5 stars!! Went here on a Saturday for lunch and had the best experience! Our waitress was AMAZING. Service was quick, kind and so polite. We had our two kids with us and she made sure they got their food first and warned us it was hot! Also, she put our to go boxes in bags as well. I got the same chicken sandwich as last time, the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich and I'll say it now, I think it's the best chicken sandwich in the triad!! Also the sweet potato fries and dipping sauce are chefs kiss. My kids enjoyed their meals too! Lemon drop martini was on point. Glad we gave this place a second chance and can't wait to go back! read more

I've never visited this location after it took over one of my favorite restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it has a similar welcoming feel with a focus on craft tacos. The menu offers plenty of great options, but I went with the tacos and a side salad. The salad was fresh and flavorful, and the tacos were perfectly seasoned with great depth of flavor. The only downside was that the prices felt a bit high, but that seems to be the norm these days. That said, the quality and taste made it worth it, and I'd definitely come back again! read more
Back here after a long time. Food is always better than I think it'll be. We did drinks first, blackberry margarita and a bottle of bubbles. $2 off cocktails on Thursday ! Then we went with the crispy Brussels app. This is a great sharing plate. We finished it all. Perfectly cooked. Three of us ordered tacos and then shared one with each other so we had 3 different ones. I do wish you could order different ones but you can't on one order. I got the chicken Tinga. My friends had the blackened mahi and the birria . All were really good, mahi being my fave. The tinga could have used more flavor. Birria is really good but a heavier richer taco. Sides we had, waffle fries , sweet potato fries and chips and pico. All excellent. Paige our server was really sweet and good with anything we asked for. Food and drink service was slow though I thought. We sat outside on a balmy warm day but it was freezing inside! Fun casual place . Good food . Funtime! read more

My Honey Coco Loco cocktail was delicious and refreshing! I really enjoyed our Brussels sprouts appetizer - very flavorful. The Hot Honey Chicken sandwich and waffle fries were tasty, too, especially with the suggested addition, by our waitress, of a side of honey for the fries - Yummy! My husband enjoyed his tacos and waffle fries, as well. Our waitress was very friendly, funny, and helpful. In the area and looking for a casual place with some tasty food and refreshing drinks? Check Them Out! read more
Had a one-night stay in Winston-Salem and found ourself at Twisted Pine. There is a small parking lot attached with a few designated spots; otherwise you'll need to find street parking. The brewery is modern and clean. I enjoyed the passion fruit-guava cider and the El Guapo smash burger. It has a bit of a kick, so you gotta like spice. The sweet potato waffle fries do contain a hint of cinnamon, which I enjoyed (a friend did not). There were delicious apps & tacos, and I wish I could have eaten more! Our server was delightfully friendly and helped me narrow down my three entree possibilities. read more

Holy cow! So delicious. My mom is a really picky eater and if she gives the stamp of approval - it's good! Outside park bench style seating that's covered with fans but not heaters. Doggo friendly. Spacious indoor with booths and long shared tables. We got nachos to share on corn tortillas with chicken - chicken was so juicy! You can definitely go wrong if you make nachos too soggy but this was perfect. Tacos were totally portioned well and sides are big! We each got different tacos and shared so i got to taste the birria, shrimp and fish. I'll say birria was good, shrimp was good (had coconut rice IN IT and separately would've been better ), and the mahi was a bit dry but overall tasty. Dad has a spicy margarita that was actually spicy and super tasty. Totally recommend. Affordable big portions! Chips and tacos were gluten free but they do not have gluten free buns for burgers but will do lettuce wraps **** read more
The restaurant itself is well designed. I love the bar area. There is plenty of tables indoor and outdoor. The service was really awesome. Our hostess sat us in a great spot. Our waitress was very attentive. She visited our table at the right time to refill our drinks and to remove trash and plates. I had a very hard time choosing my meal, because everything looked tasty. I have a good feeling that it doesn't matter what you get from here, you are going to score big. I absolutely love tacos and burgers. I chose the Bare Bones burger because a burger will always be my first choice. The burger was cooked to perfection and the toppings were fresh and tasty. The special sauce is just smart. My friend's tacos looked divine. I can't wait to visit this location again. read more

So good!! The hot honey chicken sandwich was A+++ Fried cheese!! Yummy!! I ordered way too much food, but it was hard to make a choice. The service was great. Definitely will be back! read more
We sat at the window and enjoyed some excellent people watching while dining. The drinks were phenomenal! We had the blackberry margarita and the Dozing Damsel... both were strong but not in an overpowering alcohol taste. The mac and cheese was everything!! The spiral noodles held onto the gooey extra cheesy sauce and it was seasoned so well! I had to place a 2nd order. The hot fudge brownie was so fudgy it melted in your mouth. I cant wait to go back and try more items... they all have unique flavor profiles not just your average finds. The bologna sandwich and the hot honey fried chicken tacos are next on my list. read more

We visited Twisted Pine to dine-in for the first time on a Saturday evening around 6:00pm (we'd previously done take-out once). We were glad to be sat pretty immediately, and we enjoyed sitting on the outdoor patio. Our server was very friendly and helpful, but as it was very busy, we didn't see her too much (which was okay, since we didn't have any issues). We did notice a table or two around us have issues with their servers and/or orders being incorrect, but we didn't have this happen to us. I think it was just a busy weekend night for them. We ordered the Holy Cluck tacos with sweet potato waffle fries, and the Patty Melt (subbed with Pimento Cheese) and regular waffle fries. The food was pretty good. I thought the chicken tenders in the tacos were cooked to perfection, and I really enjoyed the pimento cheese that I added to the patty melt. The fries were okay, but not very hot or crispy. Overall, enjoyed the food and the vibes! I'll be back! read more

Finally ready to make my ruling on this place, having been twice and enjoying it both times. 5! Ultimately, I've had a bite or two of things that I think could use just a bit of improvement, but I have bitten into way more things that I think are just perfect the way they are, so in the end, it deserves a high rating as a place I'd come back to repeatedly. As others said, the ambiance is very good. This place will work for a date, evening with friends, spot to drink, really anything. It hasn't changed much since it was Crafted, and that's a good thing vibe wise. The shishito peppers is something we've had as an appetizer both times here. love their texture and the tangy sauce they come with for dipping. This is a nice option as an appetizer that is a bit lighter. The Chorizo corn dip is another we tried on the first time, and while I enjoyed it, didn't feel it was worth the price tag. The absolute, bar none, thing I would come back for each time and total star of the show here... is their chicken sandwich. It is the perfect combination of thick chicken with a nice crispy breading, the sour flavor of a fried pickle, the rich flavor of pimento cheese, and the savory bacon. A few dabs of the nearby Texas Pete kicks this thing to the moon. Don't change anything about it. I'm gonna have a hard time ordering other things to be honest. That said, I did order birria tacos the first time, and they were excellent as well... but I got a bite of my wife's chicken sandwich and knew I needed that for the second visit. Honestly, just a great addition to Trade street and the downtown food scene in general. Hope to see this place continue to add interesting menu items (like they have at their other restaurants) and thrive. read more
