I had high hopes for this place cause of the many good reviews. Friendly host but that was pretty much the only good thing here. I ordered an eggs benny with mushrooms and caramelized onions and an orange juice. I was hoping for a nice savoury brunch but ended up with a plate of bland food. Everything on the plate tasted like no salt was used at all. I could barely get through my plate as I was dreading each bite. The orange juice was the highlight of my meal. I'd probably come back just to have drinks on the patio but that's pretty much it. read more

Today was our second time attending the twisted fork and it was just as good both times. The stuffed French toast was soooo good. We had excellent service. The cafe has a great atmosphere. We will definitely be back next time we are visiting Vancouver. read more

After a disaster of a visit to L'Crap-attoir (L'Abattoir .... see what I did there? ) I had to make it up to my wife for her birthday. I decided that this was a place to redeem myself and it was close to the four seasons where we were staying. This place had a great atmosphere and was free of hipster-douche waitresses which was a great start. The food was good and we even bought some of the fig-jam they made and sell in bottles at the restaurant. Overall a nice evening in a great little spot where they can stand on the quality of food along with great service. read more

My gf really liked this place but I hated it. If you asked a person whats an eggs benny, I hope they'll tell you it's eggs on an English muffin. But this place puts it on corn bread, so should it be called an eggs benny? My opinion is no. It's trying to be different but I'm not liking it. The menu is so limited and it is expensive AF. $17 for soup and salad? Holy. Their scones taste like the ones you can buy at super store. The restaurant itself is small, dark and grimy. I'm sorry but I strongly believe this place is not worth your time and money. read more

Great spot for a really delicious breakfast. We had the banana brioche French toast and pulled pork benny. Both were perfect.

Probably one of the best places in terms of food and service. I got the banana french toast and it was amazing. I would totally go again next time I go to Vancouver. read more

Went there on Sunday around noon time and waited for 20 mins. The restaurant is cozy. We ordered the French toast and frittata. They are both big portions and very delicious. read more

It was our Saturday dinner night and we come across this place near my neighborhood. First impression for this place, it's a pretty good place to hang out on Granville street and I did expected a classy restaurant. Also I did not expected the great staffs that they have. I was delighted on how attentive and polite to the customer (we questions on everything on the menu). At the end, we made our decision on ordering the Cured BC Duck Breast and Pan Sear Halibut. Both dishes was good, simple cooking with a twisted in favor. The halibut was fresh and tasty and it's a great dish for the hot summer day. The Cured BC duck dish was unique to my tastings. It's my first time tasting cure duck and I founded the texture of the meat was smoother than any duck dishes that I had. Overall, the dishes were good for a simple French cooking with an affordable price. I definitely want to come back for their brunch. read more

Great small place. Without Yelp you would just pass by. We've been there 2 times always getting a table right away. Definitely a place to go in Vancouver for brunch. read more

I loves this place...great vibe! Scones are scrumptious, Banana stuffed brioche and scrambled eggs with spinach and zuccuni are great!

This is the first place I stopped in Vancouver to grab some delicious breakfast. I had to go with the Eggs Benny (stuffed with smoked salmon) which was pretty delicious along with a local brew. This spot is conveniently located next to a hostel if you're into that. The service was great and the atmosphere was quaint but trendy. I highly recommend this joint for a great meal. read more

I'm from NYC and brunch fare is pretty much a staple on Saturday and Sunday mornings...but Twisted Fork makes brunch a thing 7 days a week. The place is cute, not too big, so it has that bistro feel. You can see the chefs busily working from the dining area which is nice. They serve french press coffee which is a treat. They are known for their eggs benny which you can get with a variety of toppings and not just the standard canadian bacon. My boyfriend got the eggs benny with pork sausage and thoroughly enjoyed it. I got the gruyere baked eggs which were also really delicious. The eggs while cooked throughly still remained light and fluffy and not too dense. The homemade sourdough bread made for great toast. I would highly recommend this place for brunch/breakfast any day of the week. read more

Brunch. Yes Please! I was back in town visiting from my new home of Miami for my birthday weekend. My besties took me here for my birthday brunch, and I all have to say is WOW! I had the banana stuffed french toast, and it was incredible. Just the right amount of sweet, they totally don't overdo it. The service was pretty decent, although it could have been a little quicker, our server was pretty attentive. I love that brunch is not *just* on Saturdays and Sundays, as my birthday was on a Friday this year! I've tried to replicate this at home, but I haven't been able to quite get it, it's THAT good! Coming back into town in a week, and I can't wait to get my hungry little paws all over this brunch again! Also looking forward to hopefully trying dinner! read more

surprisingly slow on a tuesday (slow meaning there was no one waiting ahead of us) so we got a table in decent time and ordered. Round of mussels right off the bat. For those not in the know, Twisted Fork has half priced mussels on Tuesdays which is awesome because their mussels are AMAZING. Seriously, they are steamed to perfection and then doused in an amazing cream sauce with french fries to soak. They usually have fresh bread to dip as well. A plate of mussels, any of their smaller forks, and then a dessert is more than enough to fill you and a friend! Service is awesome, the staff is super nice and helpful, and the drinks are delish! If you haven't been, go! If you have, go again! Love! read more

Came here during brunch hours, oh boy it was really packed! Waitress told me it was about a 30 minute wait for a table but there were open seats at the bar and we decided to take those. Service was a bit on the slow side took about 20 minutes to get our dishes it was also a busy day so it is what it is. I really liked the coffee served in a fresh hot french press. read more

Very unaccommodating and extremely rude staff!!! It took us 40 minutes to get in. once we sat down they were very unaccommodating with us switching the bread out instead of sourdough giving us the focaccia bread and also would not add a splash of 7-Up to an a beverage we purchased. staff was extremely rude about everything and would not serve us another beverage due to the fact that we did not purchase food there, the staff also were talking about us because they would constantly walk by and stare at us. Did not purchase food because they wouldn't accommodate us with any of our request! read more

Had an amazing brunch here! But, I'm not the only one who eats brunch at Twisted Fork ... it gets freakin' busy! We arrived 10 minutes before opening and there was already a line of probably 20 people. When the restaurant opened, we were all led in and promptly seated. Within 5 minutes, every table was taken and the line outside started to form again. I had the brie frittata which was incredible - the corn salsa was the right amount of acidity for the rich egg dish. I also sampled the tower of french toast my partner ordered -- also good! French press coffee -- great!. Price is surprisingly low -- around $12 per dish. The quality of food is high, not a greasy spoon. Will be back soon! read more

We loved this place. It's small, dark, cozy and intimate, which is unusual for a breakfast place. We ordered the banana bread and the salmon Benedict. Both were very good. Would return next time we visit Vancouver read more

Awesome first meal in Vancouver... Eggs Benedict with a perfect, brilliant orange yolks that melted into the brioche and caramelized onions and mushrooms. Delicious. French press coffee was good. Banana stuffed French toast was ok, too. read more

This brunch restaurant is amazing... exceeded expectations that were already high. Very generous portions so come ready to eat!

We went in for brunch and we are extremely pleased with this place! The service was amazing, the food was delicious. 5 stars well deserved.

I'm still keeping the 4 stars even though my dinner experience was only 3 star calibre yesterday night. I had been so excited to try their early-bird dinner special, three course meal for $25 and while the overall experience was good, I was disappointed since breakfast was sooo amazing. First of all when we walked in, both my friend and I were hit with the overpowering smell of searing lamb. It was actually quiet unpleasant. The smell of meat stayed with us the entire dinner. We were going for the blue fence dinner special, and I was surprised that you could only choose from two of the dinners from their entire menu. My friend asked if she could have another choice because of dietary restrictions and they said it would be an extra $5. I was disappointed that they weren't more accommodating. I was expecting more from my halibut which was a only ok. The asparagus was so overcooked they were shrivelled beyond recognition, the halibut a bit over done, and the potatoes were also so overcooked I actually wasn't even sure if they were potatoes. I skipped the potatoes and loved ever bit of the homemade bread they serve. In fact, I thought about the ball of doughy bread all day today! My friend did not have the blue fence menu and had the chicken stuffed with brie (how can you go wrong with that?!). She said she enjoyed her dinner. Dessert made up for any misfortunes of my dinner. The flourless chocolate cake was a definite 5 start treat! Even after my 3 star dinner, I can't wait to go back for breakfast and looking forward to trying the mussels and a LOT of the homemade bread! read more

Had drinks and small bites here on Sunday night. They had a $25 prix fix that sounded good, but we just weren't hungry enough. We had two bottles of wine, some beer, fernie frites, smoked beef tartar, tuna nicoise salad, the cheese plate, and organic oxtail soup - all tasty and just well prepared with beautiful presentation. I definitely want to come to try having an actual meal next time. I enjoyed the cool ambiance, the warm service, and the whole experience was relaxed and comforting, while still being trendy in a cool-not-trying-super-hard way. Will be back. read more

I've been to Twisted Fork a few times, and I get the appeal. Kinda. The food is your typical brunch fare; twice I've had the eggs benny (once with smoked salmon and once with bacon). Having it on brioche instead of an English muffin adds some flair, but overall, it's just above average. French press coffee is a nice touch as well. The ambience and decor make the setting intimate. They don't take reservations and there is usually a bit of a wait at prime brunch times; but I've only had to wait on average 20-30 mins, so it wasn't too too bad. That said, the service is really great (if it weren't this would likely be a 3 star rating); super friendly, from the moment you walk in the door until the moment you walk out. I would give it a chance for dinner. read more

Friendly service, great brunch options with simple pricing. I got asparagus scrambled eggs and it came with a hash brown, two slices of super spongy bread, a small pile of cooked spinach, and fig jam (I think the jam changes frequently and is house made). Friend had Eggs Benny and other friend told the waitress to surprise him - he got a spicy Italian sausage dish. I tried both and liked them! Everything is so fresh and clean. We also had the scones, based on foursquare reviews. Though I don't like cheese, the scones were made very fluffily and fresh. I asked for some ketchup for my eggs and they handed me a little container of the most delicious house made ketchup!! Would recommend and come back. read more

The few times we've eaten here the food has been really good. The problem is actually getting in. The wait breakfast is crazy and the staff takes their time acknowledging you. You're supposed to be able to see the wait time on their website so you're not so surprised when you get there, but their website hasn't worked in months (at least) and nobody answers the phone (it's an automated voice telling you to check their website)! Too bad. We'd eat there a lot more if things were better organized. read more

4 stars, maybe as low as 3.5 just because of the wait. I had baked eggs and the Gruyere was a bit much maybe. The hash browns were tasteless, but were a cool looking garnish. The baked bean were surprisingly tasty, as was the bacon. My lady ordered the eggs benny and was a little disappointed. The sausage was dry, and she just didn't like the flavor. The bloody mary's looked pretty great, but I wasn't in that kind of mood. You might wonder why it gets rated a 4 if I'm complaining so much, and I think the baked beans save it from being a 3 star. The food overall wasn't bad, but I would bet there are much better places you could go instead of standing outside for 45 minutes waiting for your table. read more

Recommended this place to a friend of mine to go for brunch today and I thought, hey why not review it? I've only been here a handful of times and each visit was for brunch (I've yet to return for dinner - hopefully I will try soon). There are certain foods I taste and I keep ordering them even though I want to try other stuff. The banana stuffed french toast brioche is one of those things. I don't even like bananas all that much but, man this thing is like crack! I got a friend who hates - actually ABHORS - bananas and even he was a huge fan. Given all of that I think it speaks huge volumes about this french toast. The only gripe I have about this place is that no matter what you will have to wait in line. Even if you get there early you will have to wait. I guess that's just the way brunch goes for a popular spot... Did I mention that you should get the banana stuffed french toast brioche? Yeah get that. read more

I got the Green onion, mixed bell peppers and zucchini Scrambled Eggs served with toasted sourdough and housemade jam, roasted roma tomatoes, rosti and sauteed spinach. It wasn't too bad but still would I return? Not really. Especially since I have a favourite diner already. The atmosphere was cool though and I liked the literal twisted forks. Unfortunately, the tea was Twinings Earl Grey, which is fine if you're into that. I'm not. read more

This was such a good find! Me and a few friends are in the area for the weekend and found the Twisted fork. When we got there they had speedy and friendly service (ask for Jessica she was great) and our food came out fairly fast. I got the eggs Benedict with bacon and it was AMAZING! My friends got the scrambled eggs and pulled pork sandwich which were also delicious, and we all gave the mimosas a try. To say the least we were beyond pleased with our experience and probably will be back tomorrow to try something new on the menu! read more

Authentic. Eclectic. Vibrant. Atmosphere: lively vibe, dim lighting, and unique detail (menus detailed with twisted forks, ornaments hanging from the ceiling, and an interesting door hanging from the ceiling as you enter (look to your right)). Food/menu: Fun and delish! We had the Lamb Shank for our main dish and the Caramel Napoleon for dessert. The Lamb Shank was good, but the Caramel Napoleon was the highlight of our dining experience. Not only was it fun to eat, but it was absolutely delish. The wait staff will give you a few fun tips when you order this dessert. Service: our waitress was wonderful! We also met one of the owners- he was very helpful and informative. We have this place marked for a visit whenever we're in town. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Vancouver B.C. It's the perfect spot for romantic dining or dinner with a group of friends. read more

Hour long wait for a table for brunch (which eventually turned out to be linner)...and another 30 min wait for food, which made for a ravenously hungry me. But it was so worth the wait. Lots of people and long waits usually means great food, no? Absolutely! I've heard a little here and there about this little French restaurant and a friend had mentioned that she tried to get a table at one time, but didn't want to wait an hour long. Well this time we decided to prolong our hunger and save some room for the delicious meal. Granted, even though the wait was long, they do give a very honest account of the wait times and also that there are only two chefs on site, so don't go expecting food on your table within 20 min of being seated. For my late lunch I had the Eggs Benny with Prosciutto. It came with a toasted brioche bun, two poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, prosciutto, a little cup of beans, spinach and a hash brown. It was delicious! Simple, tasty and rich food that satisfies and makes one happy i.e. French food. My friend had ordered the brie frittata which was just as satisfying. When I first walked into this restaurant, the first thing that struck me was the aroma of smoked salmon. It wasn't over powering or obscene in any way, it was homely. I kind of regret not trying the smoked salmon dish on my first visit here, but there is always next time! Just gotta figure out how to beat the big brunch crowd. St3Fin read more

If you are coming for Brunch, get there early and wait in line or the wait will seem like it is forever. The host quoted about 40 minutes, clearly underestimating. We lined up without knowing this information, so I am gladly providing this warning to everyone. They opened the gates right on time and mooo, I mean the people went bustling in to the tables for their brunch. The line stopped 3 people in front of us, ugh. So we put our name on the list and grabbed We had a long day of market sampling ahead of us, so we limited ourselves to banana bread and the Bacon, Caramelized Onion and Brie Frittata filled with plum tomatoes and fresh Basil, served with fresh greens and sweet corn relish. Say that all three times fast! It was pretty darn delish! Friendly and efficient service and the quirky twisted fork and decor will keep us coming back for brunch and maybe even try the other menu items. read more

silver spoon Twisted Fork has been on my radar since my first walk down Vancouver's infamous Granville Street. It's known for it's bright lights, concert halls/venues, family un-friendly shops, as well as it's fair share of the city's colourful. But as I made this walk, a few restaurants stood out for one of several reasons - their name, their signage, their menu. For Twisted Fork, it was sign. After I took a mental picture, I went home and looked it up. Twisted Fork was promising on all fronts - Urbanspoon, Yelp, Tripadvisor, DineHere, Zagat...and now, Yours Truly. I made it to brunch last weekend with my ma and sister and it was quite the wait. The good thing is, my mother's patience balanced my sister's angry hunger. They gave us an estimated wait time of 45 minutes, and since they don't make calls you have one of three options. Option 1, wait. Option 2, take a walk and come back and wait. Option 3, go somewhere else. My sister took Option 2, my mom and I took Option 1. More or less 45 minutes later we got seated and served. Service was instant and friendly. French press coffee spells great coffee ($3 per person) and we paired that with the scones. If you must know, I gave them a 3 (1 is the day-old kind from the grocery store, 10 is the Windsor Arms in Toronto). The brunch plates were fabulous at an affordable price ($13.50): Momma GG enjoyed her Spicy Italian Sausage and Poached Eggs with Ratatouille. My sister thoroughly enjoyed her Eggs Benny and me, my baked eggs. Delicious. All three were hearty, rustic bistro brunch fare. We especially liked the wilted spinach and the baked beans. Both were full of great flavour and a side of sweetness. Their theme is clearly translated onto their plates - simple comfort. We enjoyed the casual vibe and I can see why this place is a repeat for many, including myself. Congratulations, Twisted Fork, you're my first brunch find as an official Vancouver citizen. I will be coming for dinner. read more
