A beautiful awesome day, amazing people of the world. Today we are at Twisted Fork in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia. We're coming in for some good brunch cause you know, me and the crew gotta eat before heading up to whistler for some shred sesh. I ordered the shakshuka which was an ovolacto vegetarian option. Something that I usually gravitate to whenever I see it on the menu. A play of sweet, savory and acidic paired up with the pita bread is destruction my friend. Then there's the French toast which was perfect. The fruits were spot on with the ripeness and the toast had great flavor and texture. Not overly sweet as well. Anywho, we had an awesome time smashing away at the food here. I highly recommend coming here for brunch if you guys are in the area. If you like discovering new spots to smash, hit that follow button, gimme that UFN as well. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps you with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day! I love you!
Great little breakfast place in Gastown with seating inside and out. Breakfast cocktails, strong breakfast options, people watching and a friendly waitstaff make it a worthwhile destination. The stuffed French toast serving size was too much for this mere mortal but every bite was scrumptious. My companions cleared their plates too. The only sorta suggestion I would levy would be to offer some sort of protein to counter all the sweetness in the French toast.
Uniquely designed brunch recipes are amazing in taste. Both sweet & savoury options are available. Menu is not so vast but serves the purpose of a brunch restaurant. Both alcoholic & non alcoholic drinks are available but in coffee only French press option is available. Atmosphere of this place is unmatchable. Most desiring location under the sun and in the city's most happening area. There is indoor seating as well. Staff is great too. We ordered French toast which was definitely a big portion served with some fruits n maple syrup but so delicious. Our other dish was savoury topped with perfectly poached eggs served with a naan bread , olives & some hummus.
Grabbing brunch and saw this had high ratings so we slipped in. This is located in the Gastown district which means street parking. The area is very walkable and a high tourist area as well. Seating is limited but they do a great job with the space they have. The menu is limited and the main dishes are a little pricey but I will tell you they are worth it. I was more than full when I left. I ordered the Eggs Benny with bacon and it also comes with spinach, hash browns and baked beans. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and creamy alarmist buttery on the inside. Great flavor. The beans have a Smokey BBQ flavor to them. I not normally a baked bean person but I definitely ate about half of theses. The main portion was amazing. Perfectly toasted Brioche with length of perfectly cooked bacon topped with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. The yolk break was so satisfying and the bread to dip-ability was perfect. My boyfriend ordered the French toast and I took a couple bites and it yelled bananas. It was so tasty. Also the French press coffee was so smooth. The staff was quick and polite. Fast to turn over tables as people finished up which was needed for the line that was starting to form. We will be recommending this place to friends who visit here for sure! The decor is super cute and it he place of very clean.
Amazing ambience and food.very cute design and good food; highly recommend. The was food was delicious and definitely made with love.
Sad I wasted a meal in Canada on this place. I decided to check this place out due to the high yelp and google reviews, but I regret it. There are 4 brunch options for $25 CAD. Not worth it. The service is good, but the cooks handling of the food makes me want to gag. I think this food gave me the runs. The cooks are sweating, wiping their sweat, and making your food. Wish I could go back in time and skip this place.
This is an amazing spot for brunch! Tasty food and really cute and cozy vibe. My friends and I arrived with a party of six and it took less than ten minutes to get us seated... not sure if we lucked out but the wait never looked very long! I got the Eggs Benny with salmon and it was amazing and the Asiago scones are a MUST! If you order coffee, it comes to your table in a French press which you get to press & my tea drinkers got a cute little tea pot! You've gotta check out this spot when you're in Vancouver!
I've only been to Twisted Fork for dinner at their old location on Granville so I was excited to try their brunch. I love the space here! It's so bright and the decor is very interesting. The Banana stuffed brioche French toast came with 3 giant pieces of bread! The vanilla whipped cream was really good! The bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The Shakshuka was a flavourful mixture of eggplant, tomato and onion. It came with house made pita bread, tahini and salad. All their brunch items are $23.50.
We found Twisted Fork in Yelp since we wanted to do brunch today. It's located at the end of Gastown, and at about 10:30am, we had to wait for just a little bit (5-ish minutes) for a table. We drinks we had the mimosa, Frenchie's Lemonade and the white Sangria. Honestly they were okay - next time I could get the drinks, or pass on them. For our meal my husband ordered the Croque Monsier. It was really good - savory and warm. But it is a very heavy dish - but he still ate most of it! I took a chance on a new dish for me - the Shakshuka. I loved it! The tomato base has a tiny bit of a kick and all the produce in it was very tasty. The poached eggs were perfectly made and a beautiful marigold color. My son ordered the Smoked Salmon Benny, and he ate the entire dish. It also had the perfectly poached and beautiful eggs. This was a great brunch, and I know on our next trip to Vancouver we'll have this one the list to go to.
Visited Twisted Fork for brunch with a few of my girlfriends and we enjoyed our visit. The food was delicious and the coffee was amazing. There's usually a long line up but because we went 5 minutes after opening we were able to skip the crowd. The Shakshuka $18.50 Bacon Eggs Benny $18.50 French Press Coffee $4.00 **Prices include applicable taxes Service was 10/10 Food was 10/10 Parking was 6/10 (It's really hard to find parking)
One of the best breakfast restaurants near the edge of Gastown and Chinatown. We stumbled on this popular eatery on our way to Vancouver's Chinatown. Best time to go just before 9am otherwise there can be a long lineup. Order their organic pancakes...a lot of vegan choices! Limited seating. $-$$. No reservations, parking in the streets.
Quaint little place in Gastown. Came in on our last morning in town for breakfast. Started with a pot of French Press coffee. That was kinda neat, as I've never had coffee that way before. Ordered the baked eggs and Gruyère cheese, It was good, but came to life when the waiter brought over a bottle of their O's hot sauce. Ended up buying a bottle of that stuff to take home! Can't remember the name of the dish my daughter had, but it was very Mediterranean, and very good. All-in-all, very well done.
First time at twisted fork and had the best brunch experience. Servers were attentive and friendly. The portions were huge, very filling and delicious. I love me some condiments and twisted fork's homemade MANGO jam and homemade hot sauce....was amazing.
Great customer service. Food was delicious. My only issue is how tiny this place was. It was so small & busy that it was uncomfortable. I ordered the wild mushroom scrambled eggs which were delicious & the hash brown was amazing... there just wasn't enough of it. read more

Twisted Fork has been on my list of places to try for quite some time now and I finally made a visit last Friday afternoon. Lucky for us, we picked the right day, right time to come because there was no wait at all :D Within the first few moments that I spent inside the bistro, I was already charmed by their rustic decor - all the twisted forks spruced up the feel of the place, the bartenders looked like they knew exactly what they were doing and prepared cocktails with contemporary procedures that I was unfamiliar with. They serve a range of brunch dishes for $13.50 each - everything sounded really wonderful so I had a hard time committing to a choice. I ended up with the bacon, caramelized onion, feta frittata hoping to satisfy my love for eggs. However, I was quite disappointed with the dish. You know when eggs are overcooked and they have that bubbly texture? That's kind of how my frittata tasted like, it was dry and it just wasn't that enjoyable. Also, I noticed that they changed the cheese of this dish; they now bake it with feta instead of brie? Whyyy? I know I would've enjoyed my eggs with ooey gooey melted brie over the sparsely sprinkled feta that I was served. Although my personal food experience didn't shine, my bite into my companion's lentil stew and prosciutto open faced sandwich was tasty so maybe their frittata just wasn't my thing. read more

Came here for an early weeknight dinner before tickets to a show at Venue. After all of the delicious food and several glasses of wine, we didn't even end up making it to the concert - oops! My friend (a veggie) and I both ordered the blue fence special and made our selections so that all could be shared. First up was the roasted beet salad and the carmelized onion tart. Both were delicious and had lovely combinations of flavours and textures. Our seconds were both fish entrees and although they are not currently on the menu, they were both cooked perfectly and were well enjoyed. For dessert we selected the chocolate terrine (SO RICH) and the seasonal creme brulee - as an afficionado of the latter I will say that theirs was light, delicious and definitely worthy. All in all, this was a very nice meal in a small and cozy restaurant and I would say it was well worth the price paid. I can't wait to try their brunch. read more

If you're looking for a place with ONLY a great atmosphere or cool patio then this isn't the place for you. However, if you're looking for a great place to get a drink or have a great meal with generous portions then Twisted Fork is for you. Arrive early because there can be a bit of a wait on weekends for brunch, they will text you when your table is ready though. My wife and I had the bottomless French Press Coffee and we both agreed it was delicious, Not burnt like some many places (caused by water being too hot). We followed the advice of other reviewers and tried the Eggs Benny but we added bacon and avocado also, it didn't disappoint! We also appreciated the friendliness of the staff and visited with whom I guessed to be the owner from our seats at the bar. If we're here again, we'll be sure Twisted Fork is on the list of places to visit! read more
The wife found this gem on Yelp and we were so happy she did. It's quaint, located in a really busy area and highly popular with locals and tourists alike. The menu is pretty focused and only serves brunch. Everything is excellent here, including the smallest items like the jam. Poached eggs with veggie hash was really excellent. Strawberry jam was house made and really a perfect balance between tangy and sweet. Coffee was excellent as well and served in a large French press. Service is really friendly and they welcome you immediately. A must if you want a good breakfast/brunch in Vancouver. read more
Upfront: I am super biased by my *one* visit to Twisted Fork. So, take my review with a grain of salt. I went for brunch around noon on a week day (they do brunch every day until 2PM). There was no wait at all for a table, though I'm told there can be a long line on the weekend. Service was very friendly and prompt. I'd originally been thinking of getting a mimosa but after talking to the bartender, I decided to go with the "Absinthe Pie" cocktail. Prosecco and absinthe and schnapps in a brunch drink? Who am I to say no. I normally don't care for the taste of absinthe at all, but this was delicious and did really taste like apple pie. All of these good things did not properly prepare me for the best breakfast ever though. My wild mushroom egg scramble had SO many mushrooms, so many types of mushrooms. It was delicious, as were the accompanying rosti, spinach and tomatoes. I'm not normally a fan of roasted tomatoes (love tomatoes, but roasted ones served in breakfasts are usually an off-putting texture). These were fantastic. The portion was so large that it really needed nothing else, but it also came with some large slices of sourdough that were good with a homemade jam. Had I seen the portion size before ordering, I probably would have skipped my side order of an asiago scone. I actually only ordered one but two showed up at my table. That was fortuitous because the scones were freaking delicious, and the HOMEMADE PUMPKIN JAM they were served with was seriously the best thing I've ever buttered my bread with. I couldn't finish my entree, yet left it, and asked for a box for just that remaining scone and pumpkin jam. I almost ended up going back the next day specifically for the scones and pumpkin jam. And now am kicking myself for not finding out if they sell the pumpkin jam. read more

Service - 5/5 No complaints. Fast service, waiters were friendly without hovering. Food - 3/5 Ordered the bacon eggs benny. Hash was dry and cold. It tasted like it had been made 30 minutes prior to serving. Spinach was good, and the benny itself was pretty good too. The beans, I hated. It was too sweet for breakfast not to mention too heavy. Cost - 3/5 It's $15 after tax with the most filling part being the Beans. Yes there is a lot of food, but considering I didn't like half of the plate, I probably wouldn't come back. Yolks has better breakfast with amazing truffle lemon potatoes at around the same cost. read more

We came on a Sunday afternoon around 1ish during my short vacation to Vancouver. There was a small wait, of course. We weren't in a rush and judging by the Yelp reviews I had a feeling it was going to be worth it. I'm glad we did. We were seated in the back near the kitchen. Great ambiance, very low key and relaxed. Our waiter was a trip. The food was fantastic. I don't think I have a single bad thing to say about the place. The other yelp reviewers were on point. This might be the first place I'd return to the next time I'm in Vancouver. I take brunch very seriously since it's one of my favorite meals ever. Fresh ingredients. Homemade jam. Fresh bread. I support all places that use organic, cage free, free range meats & eggs. I had: Asparagus scrambled eggs served with toasted sourdough & homemade jam, roasted roma tomatoes, rosti & sauteed spinach. It was simple and fresh. The eggs were perfectly cooked. The rosti was salty and fried deliciousness that complimented the eggs perfectly. The jam was outstanding. I should have bought a jar. The Boy had Eggs Benny with toasted brioche, poached eggs, hollandaise and served with sauteed spinach, rosti and baked beans w/ smoked salmon. It was fantastic. The baked beans were obviously homemade. The hollandaise was spectacular. Our friend had: Bacon & brie frittata (he spied this on the way to our seat & it was love at first sight for him) served with fresh greens & sweet corn relish. It was delicious & a monstrosity. I didn't try it because of the bacon but it looked great. I had the french press coffee pot. Yes, just me alone. I think I made it of the way through. We were there for awhile, me buzzing on a caffeine high, talking about life and politics. The coffee was not just large but it was the smoothest french press I've ever had. We left very happy. Great prices for such huge portions. Great ambiance. Just can't say enough good things about this place. What a great experience! read more

Arrived fully prepared to wait in a long time...Thankfully, it wasn't raining either.... But only had to wait for maybe 30 minutes (which flew by in the company of a lovely friend:) and jumped at the offer of the seats at the bar. I asked the waitress for a coffee and the French press arrived to our delight. The coffee was fantastic. I ordered the Eggs Benny with salmon and my friend wanted to try the baked beans on toast. Both were very large portions! My Eggs Benny came with lots of salmon on thick pieces of toast with a side of baked beans and sauteed spinach. Friend's was toast smothered in baked beans with poached eggs on top served with a side salad. The food was delicious but the highlight was sitting at the bar where we chatted with the servers and watched them make amazing drinks. Next time, I will definitely have to try the tequila float or caesar made with crushed herbs and topped with pickled brussel sprout. Amazing brunch spot. read more

Came here for brunch with friends, be prepared to wait. We were a group of 3 who got there at 1:10ish and we had a 40-45 minute wait. Good thing we were downtown so we strolled off to a nearby coffee shop. Once we got our table, everything was pretty quick. The server was able to help us answer any questions that we had about the menu. I ordered the Guyere Baked Eggs. It comes with 3 baked eggs which was unexpecyted at first since most places serve 2. It was pretty tasty and I would come back for this again! The beans were pretty good as well, not a huge fan of beans but I am convinced. My friend ordered a scone and I thought the portion was small. I'm pretty sure there was more jam/butter than was really needed for spread. The eggs benedict is on par, what you would expect from an eggs benedict. read more

Busy in the mornings, but the owner was super friendly and quick at making sure we had everything we needed and the check when the waitress was busy. They have bottomless french press coffee which is how I like my coffee, and they give me all the cream and sugar I want We had the eggs benny with ham. Some of the best hollandaise sauce I've had in a long time, perfectly poached eggs and perfect ham, plus a tasty tiny lil side of hashbrowns and spinach. You also get baked beans but they taste more like they should be in chili then served as a side. The bread is really good but a little thicker then I like, throws the balance off a touch. But delicious all the same. We also got the french toast stuffed with banana. Very thick bread so I needed some extra syrup, but so good we had to make ourselves stop eating it. It's so filling. Definitely be back. read more

The Twisted Fork is well known as a brunch place in downtown Van City. Overall, pretty darn good. I had the Croque Monsieur. It's kind of a cheesy ham sandwich on French toast. It was pretty good. The first few bites I found juicy but it kind of dried up. Lucky they had a tomato paste dip to moisten things up. Portions are generous and I left pretty full. Service is very causal and friendly. Maybe a bit too causal for my tastes. Overall, the Twisted Fork is a pretty good brunch joint. Certainly worth trying at least once. read more

Great place for breakfast. I love the atmosphere at this restaurant. We had to wait to be seated (30 minutes and it was a Monday around 10:30am). When you come here you must order their asiago scones!! Wish I had more... Their smoked salmon eggs benedict is good also, so is their soup and sandwich :). Will definitely come back for more! read more

I tried this restaurant based on the good reviews I read. The restaurant is small and does not take reservation. The best time to go for dinner is when they open at 6 pm unless you like waiting out in the drizzle. For appetizer, we tried the mussels and they were good. The three course meal for $25 is a good bargain and includes several choices of appetizers, main courses and desert. The food is good and I would highly recommend this restaurant. read more
The good: The service. They greeted us at the door and sat us pretty quickly. The ambiance. Hipsters, small tables, modern deco. The food. A small menu that packs a lot of punch! The coffee. Bottomless French press for $4. The hash browns. Yummy and crispy! We ordered the Eggs Benny and the Gruyere Baked Eggs. I chose the turkey sausage and it was mouth watering delicious! The only thing I didn't gobble up on the plate was the out of place nasty beans. The Gruyere Baked Eggs we fluffy, the bacon was crisp, and the toast came with savory jam. The bad: A good place for 2-3 people otherwise you'll be bumping elbows. Oh and the beans, yuck. Overall: I'd go again for sure but ask for a replacement side for the beans. And to say hello to the great people who work there! read more

The place is rather small & I recommend you book in advance on the weekends as they tend to have 40min waiting time but once you get to your table, just relax, everything is going to be delicious! The only 'con' is the size of the plates a bit too small, which makes you order many more, all delicious but it might end up a bit pricy. The setting is very cosy/romantic and the staff super friendly, I would definitely go back! read more
