These precious cookies are Small little pies. Not as sweet and not as much filling. Much better than a traditional cookie , it's a small tart. Power packed flavors and very enjoyable. I cut my cookie into 4 pcs, to try several flavors. The pecan pie, apple pie & very berry . These are Perfect for Thanksgiving. Can't believe they were not sold out. Delicious. Must try and will return to try the chocolate flavors next time. Ty

I won't knock it as once upon a time I came a few years and the cookies were warm. Unfortunately now the cookies are cold and fridged up. I was rather disappointed, also as my friends stated how different the cookies were now. Don't get me wrong, I still like them, just not going to go out of my way (as we did tonight) to come purchase them. Years ago though we would get them warm and still oozing, now they seem to just sit in a cold fridge and not warmed up. I think it took something away from the experience for me anyway. All in all it's still a good cookie, but i think warming them up first is the best deal vs the cookies being seriously cold and hard. Service was good and the look of the place still looks the same, trust me it's a very pretty location. So I give them props on that. But again, without the warmed up cookies, they are just average now.

First things first, round of applause for our Latina woman owned establishment in forest park! Sis did that. This is not your average sugar factory, candy shop. No - the owner surpasses where your mind can go when you think of a sweet tooth. She took sweets and upped the level by 1000. From sundaes, milkshakes, cookies to cupcakes, she had it all. I choose to get the chocolate chip cheesecake cookie. Yes you read that right - all in one. Told you sis is creative. I paid close to $4.00 including tax for one decently sized cookie and I believe it was worth it. In every bite, you got exactly what you were supposed too. I'd definitely return. Should you find yourself in the area or see this on social media, MAKE. THAT. MOVE.

Alyssa S.

I kept seeing posts about this on social media so I had to check it out. Its a cozy spot with different types of cookies, ice cream sundaes, shakes, and even frozen lemonade. I ordered a turtle cupcake cookie, an apple pie cookie and a pecan pie cookie. They offered to warm the apple and pecan pie cookies and you can get them ala mode. Since I wasn't eating them right away I didn't get them warmed. I ate the turtle cupcake cookie first. I failed to take a picture before devouring it but it was very good. The apple pie and pecan pie cookies were fantastic! They gave you a taste of pie in a cookie form. I warmed the apple pie cooke and had it with vanilla ice cream which was really good! I'll definitely be returning to try more items and to get more pie cookies.

I love this place way too much lol the pie cookies have a hold on me. They're amazing! With a little ice cream on top and warmed up (which they offer) is just *chef's kiss* Also the cheesecake cookies. Amazing. Everyone here is so nice too

(giving an extra star because the staff is very nice and patient) I went with my partner and got 2 cupcake cookies, a milkshake and vanilla soft serve. I was really excited about the idea of a cupcake cookie but realized it's not the type of dessert for me. If you're really into cookies and icing, you'll probably love it! The cookies are between soft and firm, kind of thin and have a helpful amount of icing on top. They're kind of expensive in my personal opinion, but if you like them, maybe they're worth the cost? The milkshake and soft serve were okay, nothing really stood out. I probably won't come back because there wasn't anything else I wanted to try BUT I would suggest checking out this bakery at least once!! Maybe you'll love the cupcake cookies?! Parking was very easy, there are plenty of street parking options and it was only a quick walk over.

Chocolate chip cookie cheesecake cookie, berry berry pie cookie, apple pie cookie, Oreo cheesecake cookie.

Edwin W.

These are not cookies, they are mini pies the Oreo cheesecake cookie was good, apple pie cookie was good, the berry berry pie cookie was lacking flavor, the chocolate chip cookie cheesecake cookie lacking flavor. But flavor is in the mouth of the beholder. Try them out.

COVID precautions are keenly observed. Thank you!

Open on Sundays!! I didn't realize so many bakeries are closed on Sundays, until I needed to make a surprise delivery of baked treats this Sunday morning. Thankfully, I'd heard about Twisted Cookie through a new program called "Takeout 25 Oak Park" whose aim is to increase spending at Oak Park (and adjacent towns) restaurants and bakeries, in order to help businesses survive the COVID crisis. We each commit to spending at least $25 a week on take-out and/or delivery. Then we post photos of our purchases in the Facebook group. The photos from this place looked so good!! I had no problem finding $25+ in fresh-baked cookies at Twisted Cookie!! I took a photo of the 4 remaining cookies, but there were 10 on the plate at the start. They were each quickly claimed and eaten! I also picked up a pound of Philosophy coffee beans. They also sell soft serve ice cream, shakes, and malts! The staff was super nice. COVID precautions are in place and carefully observed by all. Street parking was a breeze. I will definitely be back. What a cool shop!!

Turtle Brownie Sundae - after being smooshed by the lid

Chandrika R.

This place is always such a treat! And today I needed a serious pick me up. The turtle brownie sundae is soooo decadent! I had mine made with chocolate soft serve and hot fudge, and it definitely hit the spot. I keep meaning to try the twirls, but this sundae is always calling me. The staff is super friendly, and the cookie sundaes are a hit for a gift or a party! Can't go wrong here, and I'm glad they're so close to me!

Carol T.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The turtle sundae was huge. The brownie is dipped in chocolate and then topped with ice cream, whipped cream with caramel and fudge sauce. It was good!

Riley C.

The cookies are decent, but did not really stand out In flavor. Would eat them again, but not make a special trip.

We watched the show Chicago's Best and the Twisted Cookie was featured and we immediately made the trip the very next day! The minute you walk in it smells fantastic! The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable about all their products they sell. We tried a few cupcake cookies while there and took home plenty more for the Holidays and family. You won't be disappointed in anything you select. I want to try their homemade Hot Chocolate with homemade marshmallows next visit. Believe me, there will be a next visit. Items are made fresh daily. read more

Super cute place. My fiance had a traditional chocolate chip cookie and a hot chocolate. Both were very good. The customer behind us got 4 or 5 brownies, so you know they've gotta be out of this world! The brownies were dipped in chocolate, yum. Tons of very creative cookies. They had cookies with cheesecake on them, stuffed cookies, traditional cookies like sugar, and black & white, and cupcake cookies. There are also shakes which look delicious, but since it was 10° outside it wasn't something that my guy was willing to endure. The staff was very welcoming and patient, and incredibly sweet. I will definitely be returning again. It would be wonderful to have a vegan option (I break my vegan diet for baked goods once a month, but would prefer to keep vegan if given the option). read more

LOVED the butterfinger milkshake. My friend tried the espresso milkshake and said it was a little too strong, and she would've added chocolate syrup or something in the future to bring it down. The cookie was okay. They are all very cute but the customer service is what sucked! It's really too bad that someone left there business to those two to run unsupervised. They were not friendly or welcoming. Plus they wanted to take our drivers license to use a fifty or hundred dollar bill! Who the hell does that? I've seen signs in other businesses that said, no bills larger than a twenty, which makes since. So that was also ridiculous! Whatever, The Brown Cow Ice Cream Parlor, a couple doors down, was hopping with business and we were greeted right way and had all of our questions answered by a smiling face. So, we will be there tomorrow evening. We won't be back. read more

An addicting twist on your average sugar cookie. After going here I get the name. Imagine a smooth-as-silk, not-too-sweet cream frosting sandwiched between two super buttery, melt-in-your-mouth sugar cookies then topped with even more of that creamy frosting and a delicious garnish representing the unique flavor, i.e. dried banana slice for banana cream, caramel and nuts for the turtle, etc. Imagine that and you have Twisted Cookies. I bought one in every flavor, except coconut, for my first trip and I'm glad I did. They're inexpensive enough to grab a dozen for a gathering (or yourself) and worth it to experience the full, balanced flavors of each and discover your favorite. Though that may be difficult! I also got the more "traditional" blueberry pie, salted caramel and stuffed chocolate peanut butter pretzel cookies. They were all just as good. But the salted caramel was a can't miss! read more

Finally had a chance to stop in the other day. Great selection of treats displayed and what looked to be a good amount of coffees, hot chocolate, etc on the menu. When I walked in I mentioned that it was my 1st time there. Usually I'd expect a warm greeting, maybe a suggestion of popular choices or their specialty, but I got nothing but a blank look and zero enthusiasm. Anyways, I made my selections quick even though I was the only patron there. The apple pie cookie and iced coffee were amazing!!! I look forward to picking up some other treats and sharing with some friends. I just hope for a more welcoming experience next time, hence why only 4 stars were given. read more

This place has amazing gluten-free cookies! On the day I was there, they had two types of flourless peanut butter cookies: one plain, one dipped in chocolate. They also had a giant gluten free sugar cookie with sprinkles. Don't worry, there are plenty of guten-y treats too! They have amazing brownies that are stuffed (think salted caramel), then dipped in chocolate. They also have assorted other cookies and a cookie cupcake hybrid. Additionally, there are also a variety of ice cream based desserts. This is a new business in Forest Park and I highly recommend that everyone gets out to support it. The desserts are amazing and you won't regret it! It's a new favorite! read more

Absolutely the best cookies you can get. Cupcake cookies, stuffed cookies, pie cookies, dipped cookies. All of them phenomenal, all of them great portion sizes. Then there are the stuffed and dipped brownies, as if my heart wasn't already sold on the cookies, ah the brownies. Plus a great vanilla softserve ice cream and toppings to boot. And a coffee bar. Wonderfully finished interior, great location, nice employees and a lovely owner. Must be a sweet treat heaven. Update: They keep adding menu items and each and everything is fantastic. And a great selection of ice cream to choose from. We were a bit in a hurry and I didn't want to mess with ice cream and a toddler on the move, so I got a hot chocolate for us to share. It's unlike any hot chocolate I've ever had--it's hot, but they make it with ice cream so that first sip or two is both hot and cold. It is delicious and delightful and may be my new favorite hot chocolate. As the weather warms up and we head out here for swim lessons and whatnot, I'll look forward to stopping by for ice cream, which is my favorite. And I'm definitely checking out their ice cream cakes because I'll bet the little ones would love it!

If you're in the Oak Park area and have a late-night craving for something sweet, you need to check out Twisted Cookie! This spot is a dessert lover's paradise, offering unique treats like cookie cupcakes, brownie sundaes, and their signature "decision desserts." We ordered turtle brownie sundaes, and they were absolutely divine! Each bite was a decadent mix of rich chocolate, gooey caramel, and crunchy pecans, topped with creamy ice cream that tied everything together perfectly. It's a dessert that hits all the right notes--sweet, indulgent, and completely satisfying--pure bliss! The menu is packed with creative options that make choosing almost impossible (hence, "decision desserts"). Their cookie cupcakes are a standout--a delightful mashup of soft, chewy cookies baked in cupcake form. Whether you're in the mood for brownies, cookies, or something adventurous, Twisted Cookie has something to tempt your taste buds! read more

We tried a range of flavors and my family liked what they tasted, but no one was that interested in running out again the following weekend to try them again, even driving by the location to remind them of the place we had visited. Silverland is the kind of place I like having near the highway so that I can pick up treats on the way to work or a social engagement if I've forgotten to make something at home. It's also a small shop with just a table or two off to the side, so I don't think it's a place I would stop to dine in. There's also parking nearby, assuming you are not on foot for a visit here!

We arrived late morning, and the coffee shop wasn't crowded, but had a few patrons. It was a Sunday morning. It was really hot and humid outside, so we appreciated the air conditioning. We chose to sit at a table inside. I looked at the menu. I did feel that the coffee menu wasn't extravagant, as most of the items were pretty basic. My husband chose an iced chai, and I chose an iced coffee with nonfat milk. I appreciate places that carry nonfat milk, as several do not. The bakery menu was quite a bit more extravagant. My husband chose the banana cake, and I chose a parmesan truffle roll. Later, I noticed that they had an Italian Beef roll (a true Chicago specialty), but I had already ordered the parmasean truffle roll. Honestly the pastries were amazing. Service was fast and the coffee and chai were good. We sat inside and had some interesting chats with some of the customers. I think that that though the coffee menu is basic, the products are good. The bakery items are delicious, and it seems to be a real community hub where locals enjoy spending time.

'C' IS FOR CUPCAKE CATASTROPHE…read more I'm glad to support this Puerto Rican bakery, even if a few things badly missed the mark. Borinken Cakes is a small restaurant and baked goods shop on Archer Ave, just east of Cicero in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood of Chicago. My wife insisted on coming here to try their 'tripleta' (a meat-heavy sandwich) as well as buy a few beloved pastries. The Cubano ($13) was better than average: roast pork, ham, pickles, mustard, and swiss cheese on lightly buttered 'pan sobao' (soft sweet bread). The sandwich itself was dry, a splash of hot sauce helped. Sadly, it doesn't come with chips or Yuca fries. The specialty coquito ($6) was a lot of fun, an eggnog-like drink with blue matcha powder and strawberry drizzle added to emulate the Puerto Rican flag. My wife got a fresh mango juice ($3.75) and a Puerto Rican coffee ($3) she said was "like a weak Keurig". Unfortunately, the cupcakes--which are supposed to be soaked--had all sorts of issues. Our experience with half a dozen cupcakes was brutal; either they were bone dry or had a troubling gritty texture, like wet sand. At least 1 went straight in the trash. Funny enough, our 3yo (a sweets lover) took one bite and spit it out, which we amounted to her being a picky eater. Later on, I tried a spoonful of the same cupcake and damn near had the same reaction! Turns out, little miss was right....and at $5/ea these weren't cheap blunders, either. They had magna-tiles and crayons to keep kids entertained, which we appreciated. The girl behind the counter wasn't very friendly, and though my interactions with her were brief, my wife detected an attitude while she placed an order. Ooof, not your finest hour mi gente. * TL;DR * Though I'm no expert baker, I can't imagine bungling a cupcake as badly as they did here. The quesitos were fine, but the acclaimed cupcakes had us shaking our heads in disappointment. One was drier than Death Valley, the next was like faceplanting into wet sand. It's one thing to be lacking flavor, but a poor texture is an immediate 'no'. Cuban was tasty if a little pricey; for $13 it oughta come with something more than air. Employees could benefit from some customer service re-training and the house coffee tasted like a K-cup pod (wife's words, not mine). It pains me to leave a lukewarm review for a Boricua business, but cupcakes priced at $5/ea need to be high quality and the ones at Borinken Cakes fell way short of expectations.
