It's a donut shop in the morning and a dinner spot in the evening, which I thought was such a fun concept. The service was excellent, and the restaurant is big, spacious, and inviting. Had this place on my list to try. It shares the same space as a lunch spot for Korean rice bowls I believe. I guess the donut side will still sell until they run out. I tried a few things. Our favs were the cronuts Espec the chocolate one and the Korean milk bun. It was lighter sweet if you're looking for that and very soft. The cake donut was okay as well as the regular donuts. I really wanted to try their fig donut, but it wasn't available the day I went. Instead, I ordered the vegetable quiche and the creme brulee donut and both were delicious! The quiche was served as a flaky pastry filled with tomato, egg, cheese, and rosemary. The creme brulee donut was especially unique: creamy on the inside with a perfectly crunchy sugar coating on the outside. It wasn't too sweet (a compliment). This place did not disappoint. Stopped in during a visit to Dallas area and I will definitely go back the next time we are in the area. A hidden gem that's easy to miss, but absolutely worth finding. A friend recommended this spot while we were in Frisco, The outside says The Rice Bar, but they serve incredible donuts in the morning. We tried the matcha, blueberry, glazed, and some specialty donuts. And their chai tea and dirty chai were fantastic as well. Met the owner and she was saying that it's two businesses owned by her but the county doesn't allow two signs on the building. I've been going to this donut shop since they started making donuts. I don't like donuts, but these are not your average donuts. They're cake-y and moist and delicious. So they will always get 5 stars from me. However, you never know if you're going to walk into a full display of donuts or just a few flavors, even if you show up super early. We stopped by Twinkle Donuts, which actually shares the same storefront with the Rice Bar. As soon as you walk in, there's a full display of donuts though they're not covered/protected in case someone sneezes, just roped off with a sign that says "look but don't touch." A staff member was working that day and seemed to be on her first shift. She couldn't understand what we were saying, but communication was rocky, maybe because of a language barrier or just the loud background music. Another staff member stepped in to help a bit. We decided to try the crème brûlée donut (which everyone raves about) and a cronut. The total came to $8.99, with a $2.50 minimum for credit card payments. The crème brûlée donut had a nice bittersweet caramelized top, and the cream filling was generous. The cronut was good, but not the flakiest I've had. Overall, it's a cute little boutique donut spot, but $5 for a single crème brûlée donut feels pretty steep. read more

Saw a photo of their breakfast sandwich this AM and decided to check it out. Twinkle Donuts is inside the Rice Box restaurant. I guess in the AM they do donuts and then around noon they flip it to Korean food. My son and I split the Everything Toasty Sandwich which is loaded with ham, bacon, sausage, egg and cheese on a soft brioche bread. THIS IS HUGE. It comes with a zesty mayo/pesto sauce which I tried but opted out of putting on the sandwich. Not needed. Recommend sharing the beast of a sandwich with a friend. You need to leave room for some donuts. 5 - Stars They make the sandwich in back, which took about 5-6 minutes and they bring it out to the table. Snack on a donut hole or cronut. (They tossed a few in our bag. The cronut holes are great 5 - star) We also ordered a Sour Cream Old Fashioned which was dense, sweet, and had the traditional crusty outer crust. 5 - stars. This is regarding donuts. We did not try their Korean food. We arrived about mid-morning. My husband wanted an apple fritter, and they didn't have any. We decided to wait until the following day and come earlier. We arrived about 15 minutes after opening. They had just a few varieties of donuts and savory items out, and all were from the previous day. They were finishing up with apple fritters, so we waited for that. I just got the sausage roll and mini cronuts. The bread for the sausage roll was a bit hard, obviously having been sitting for a while. The apple fritter was good. Crunchy and full of apple pieces. What a pleasant surprise! My friends and I ordered coffee and breakfast with some donuts, of course. The donuts were so fresh they were hot and the croissant and "toasties" we got were incredible and a bargain for the size! Also, the sauce for the toastie is to die for. We went to four different coffee places in four days and this was our second favorite place so the coffee was very good! Wow what a hidden gym, tucked inside a Korean restaurant (also amazing). The donuts here are top quality and some of the best In town. Not overly sweet (as is the Korean style of bakeries/pastries) so you don't feel too guilty for indulging, but it's so good you keep eating more lol. Two outstanding donuts for me here is 1) the Cronuts. I've had these at Dominque Ansal's in nyc (the man that invented the Cronut) and this place is nowhere near that but, amazing nonetheless and I'd argue, a true croissant donut. Crispy, flaky, airy. The only reason I don't come as often as I'd like is the service speed. There's usually just one cashier, and if you order coffee as well, it can slow things down quite a while; even though the donuts are already made. It's not the easiest spot for a quick grab-and-go before work, as waits can easily be 15 minutes or more. I requested latte without flavor and the initial sip tasted better than with the syrup. About five to ten minutes after I left I realized that I tasted less of the espresso and more of the oat milk that is not as creamy as Planet Oat Milk Creamer. Food: Kids perspectives: the glazed donut is fresh and tastes like it should. Small donuts are too sweet. Chocolate icing on the donuts did not like the taste. My perspective: Toaster is fresh and a portion big enough to share. I love the hash brown in it Lemon blueberry donut tad too sweet. My favorite donut place in DFW. I've ordered from them regular doughnuts a few times and I've been happy with their service and flavor every time. Nice thing about Twinkle is that they also custom make doughnuts for different occasions so I got doughnuts for two of my coworker's baby showers and they came out great. Doughnuts are so soft in texture and I like that they're not overly sweet. They also have a ton of varieties of doughnuts that you can choose from. Their cronuts are so good!!! Those are quite hard to authenticate. No Angel Cream here but Red Velvet was still here when I arrived & it was killer! I also missed out on cronuts.
