Master Donut was the third and last stop on mini donut tour. It's located in what looks like a part of a small shopping center. The area didn't feel particularly safe at first glance, but we decided to go in anyway. The place gave me a bit of a Shipley Donuts vibe, the donuts here are smaller compared to the ones we had at Twinkle and Ernest. We ordered a maple bacon donut and a feta spinach tart. They also had kolaches, though we didn't try any this time. There were two registers, so checkout was quick, and the staff were kind enough to heat up the spinach tart, which was a nice touch. Overall, this spot offers a wider variety of items and much more affordable prices than the other two donut shops we visited. Plus, there's plenty of parking, which is always a bonus. read more

BEST LITTLE DONUT PLACE IN THE COLONY. Donuts are always fresh. The customer service is amazing. The ladies here all chip in when the line gets long. They are very welcoming. My favorite: 2 kolache, and the chocolate eclair is always fresh and delicious. I love that they have mixed donut holes. Highly recommended. I lived here for 17 years, and this location is safe. Excellent first experience here. Like others have said, fresh and tasty AND at a great value. First of all, it's a pretty lackluster, dated strip mall. This joint - marked by a stereotypical and generic DONUTS sign - is not really visibly from the road. It faces north. Just keep cruising around the parking lot and you'll find it. Next, it's clearly pretty popular. That being said, they're efficient and keep things moving. While some of the trendy and pricey new donut joints (which strike me as ... well, just not worth my time or money) make you wait forever and then charge you a small fortune... for donuts... DONUTS... this place doesn't make you wait long (if at all) and they serve up fresh, affordable, and *classic* donuts. Score. They're not fancy. They're not trendy. They're classic, solid, and they don't try to be something they're not. I paid $8 and change for a dozen donuts. And they went fast - much faster than the sad, inferior competition that others brought to church that day. Winning! read more

... Horrible place... They were out of custard, donuts, so they sliced one open and spread custard onto it like mayonnaise... Their egg tacos are greasy and tasteless... The dounts here are good. I wont complain about the product. But the service sucks. I placed my order only to be ignored by the two people behind me who only spoke spanish. The cashier decided to help them as i waited. Of course the proceeded to order the same as i had so when it came time to fill my order oh sorry we are out Too many other places to go with good donuts master is no better than 7 11 or qt at lunch time how sad read more

Their CAFE DE OLLA coffee took me back to sitting in my grandmas kitchen :) I think the brand is Boyd's, but I might be wrong. Still, it's good stuff, and in my experience, not very common! We have plenty of donut places near us but we choose to drive to Master Donut in The Colony. Hands down - they have the best glazed donuts. We use to like the donut place by us in the Tom Thumb shopping center at 423 and Lebanon but their donuts started tasting strange like they were using old oil. Had a strange after taste. read more

Back before she had the tap to pay machine, she'd print out the receipt that DID NOT REQUIRE A SIGNATURE only to try to get you to tip. Now that she has the tap to pay Chase machine, it's deceptive. You press 1 to tip and 2 for no tip except the 1 is underneath a red X which makes it appear you press 1 to skip the tip. Fine, blame the machine for the terrible UI, but the fact that she called me out for tipping too little pisses me off.

Pablo is wrong 100%. Couple of points to prove it, Pablo said "the guy behind the counter"...well, there is an all female staff. Has been that way for as long as I've been going...about 7-8 years. Another point, there is I think there is only 1 Hispanic who works there. Maybe one other, but she works in the back. The others are Asian. He makes it sound like the staff is made up of Hispanics. This was my donut shop as a kid, my dad would take me before tests and ask me if I was ready? Tell me they didn't matter and to do my best anyways. I didn't know these were the best donuts I would ever have. read more

Now a senior in college I still come by early and pick up a dozen (donuts-and snacks) for the fam when I visit from uni to give my parents a break from picking up donuts themselves.
