The Chicken and Cabbage potstickers are a recommended starter. The "meatiest" potsticker that you'll ever have. The Mar Far Chicken with a side of Sweet and Sour trumps any sort of Popcorn Chicken that you've had to date. The Chinese Style Lo Mein with Chicken is my go-to. The Twin Dragon may be the best family owned Chinese restaurants in Eugene. They do everything right from customer service, to their quality food. Their pot stickers are home made and first rate. I felt guilty with the amount of food they served us at lunch for the price. Their portions are very generous. It was lovely to see three generations working and playing in the same room with smiles all around. My only disappointment was the egg flower soup, too thick with corn starch. Tasty, but too thick for my liking. A previous reviewer described Twin Dragon as "shady". Perhaps it was just a poor choice of words on their part, but we did not find this place "shady". It is not fancy, but not shady, nor would I call it a "hole in the wall". That term is best reserved for places where you actually order through a window, and eat on the sidewalk. I was excited to try it because it was touted to be so good via this app! But I must say, I was not a fan. The service and friendliness of the staff are really the reason I've put 2 stars. The food, on the other hand, not a fan. I pride myself in being a pot sticker connoisseur and it is my favorite dish to try at various locales...but these pot stickers (chicken and chive) had an odd, bulky texture and an odd flavor. I'm not typically a fan of Chinese food- it all kinda tastes the same like soggy flaccid frozen veggies reheated and covered in a slimy syrupy sauce. This place was AWESOME. My boyfriend and I shared the pot stickers, moo shoo chicken, and Kung Bo scallops- and ALL of it was excellent. Great flavors, fresh crisp veggies, beautifully cooked scallops and nothing was too saucy. We had an early dinner so there weren't a ton of other customers there and the service was top-notch. Twin Dragon is the best Chinese food I have found in Eugene. I grew up in Hawaii eating authentic Asian foods and this place is close when you order the correct food. If you eat Americanized Chinese such as sweet and sour chicken with fried rice and order that here you may be disappointed, however, if you order off the authentic Chinese menu you may be pleased and surprised. There are also a few items not on the menu that can be found on the white board. This place is family run and they are really friendly. Occasionally there children will be there in the seating area watching TV or playing on a computer. Pot stickers were very good! We had the chicken and chive. One side really crispy which was enjoyed. We added hot peppers and soy to the sauce they came with. Beef Lo Mein was really good. Sauce was light and delicious. Noodles had a little crispness to them with was a yummy surprise. Beef was cooked nicely, not overdone. Overall everything we tried so far was really good and fresh. Will be coming back especially for pot stickers :-) we love Lok Yaun (portion size and always yummy) but this place is different flavored and way closer to where we live. read more

Not to sure what other reviewers ordered...but mine was by far the worst tasting chinese food I've had. To be fair, the wait staff was very kind and welcoming, and I could tell they cared about their business. But the food... I ordered the pork fried rice, pork chow mein and a sesame chicken dish that were all bad. The fried rice was basically white rice with few veggies and not much pork, the chow mein was doused in an unappetizing sauce with pieces of ham sliced on top, and the chicken was chewy. I normally devour chinese food, nothing left on the plate. I called it quits about a 1/4 the way in. Pretty disappointed and still hungry :( Oh well... read more

Twin Dragons restaurant is a decent place for Chinese food. It's not authentic and it's basically an American version of Chinese but it's a decent meal. The staff is very friendly but somewhat inattentive. The environment is extremely hot and stuffy, it felt like a hot day in the middle of summer. The restaurant itself is very small so I wouldn't bring a large party of people there. Something that's not a huge deal but definitely off putting, there was an ant crawling on the table. There's real plants inside on the windowsills so I guess bugs inside makes sense. It should really be taken care of though, especially in an establishment where people are eating. Overall it's a three star rating because the food wasn't that great, the environment was so so but the staff is very friendly. If you need someone to give you an authentic smile and cheerful service, then definitely stop in! Otherwise, skip it and try out another place. read more

I will probably never eat here again unless I am taking it to go. I will start off by saying the food was good. I can't complain about that, but the service was horrible. The only time our waiter came to our table was to take or order, and drop off our food. We even had to go up to the counter to pay. My girlfriend and I didn't think we wanted to have a drink other than the tea, but we decided shortly after that we would like a soda. Unfortunately when our food was dropped off he was too busy taking with the other customers about how apple products are over priced, and how they should just get a chrome book. This is the best Chinese food I've had since I moved to town and it reminds me [in the best way] of the little Chinese food restaurants I loved in my hometown. The restaurant is small, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the menu is just big enough to give you good variety without overwhelming you with choices. We came here last night with a party of seven, were able to get seated right away, and everyone's food was above their expectations. Since I now live close to this restaurant, I have a feeling it's going to be a somewhat regular go-to spot for takeout. I'm looking forward to trying everything on the menu. Tips: 1. If you're one of those people who worries about the food being spicy enough, have no fear. The spiciness levels aren't designed for tourists with bland palates. 2. Simply amazing. I had the vegetable fried rice and sweet & sour tofu and it tasted heavenly. My husband had sweet & sour chicken and chow mein and it was to die for. Only so-so Chinese food with our one-and-only visit for take-out here. The Chinese-style chow mein was overly salty and didn't have many of the advertised vegetables or BBQ pork, and the Pineapple chicken, which supposedly had chunks of pineapple, onion and bell pepper, in reality had only *bits* of these items. Hardly any sweet and sour sauce, so the dish was pretty dry. And instead of the pint-sized box of steamed rice that most Chinese restaurants provide, there was only about a cup full of rice in a very small box. Prices were also a little on the high side. We won't be going back. Our favorite Chinese restaurant, the Jade Palace, closed a couple of years ago when the couple who had run it so well for years decided to retire. There's a reason why Twin Dragon is a local institution for many native Eugeneans: many of us consider it to be the best Chinese food in town. Many of us grew up going to Twin Dragon and have fond memories of food an family in this tiny restaurant. Family owned and operated, this place has not changed for over 30 years. I'd be hard pressed to say I've ever had anything from Twin Dragon that I disliked, and the quality and freshness of the food has never wavered. Try anything on the menu, but my personal favorites are: Special Chinese Chow Mein with Noodles: your choice of protein with generous mixed vegetables, special sauce, and perfectly pan cooked noodles. Mar Far Chicken: Chinese restaurant classic, but they add sesame seeds to the batter for extra crunch and nuttiness. Curries: Not always offered in Chinese-American restaurants, they actually make some really delicious curry dishes. Your choice of protein and generous veggies. Garlic sauce: It's wonderful. I highly recommend any of their dishes that uses this sauce. Also, please ask the staff for recommendations if you have a hard time navigating the menu choices. They are always helpful and thoughtful and can guide you to the dish that has the right combination of ingredients for you. They have special menu items that are not explained on the menu. Go ahead and ask for a recommendation and let them delight you with something new and wonderful! Lastly, I have to say that the family who runs this place are some of the sweetest people you'd ever want to meet. They will greet you with a smile and a laugh and treat you as family every time, even if it's your first visit. Awesome LITTLE restaurant staffed by fabulous people (I believe to be the owners & family). The man that handled my order was exceedingly accommodating to all the items I wanted as "custom" add-ons to his menu items. I think the mar far chicken may be the best I've had yet. In terms of service, I don't think it gets any better... provided the same couple are always there. The food quality (not excessively greasy or overly breaded) was top notch. The price was ballpark. I think I spent $30 for 2 dinners/teas, plus tip. I definitely will be going back, just to see how yummy the rest of the menu is. The only possible negative that someone should know, is that they only have something like 10 tables. So given it's clear quality and great service, I'm sure a large group would need to phone ahead for group seating. read more

You could drive past this place every day and never realize that inside is a multi-generational Chinese family business that makes amazing food! This is not bland, sweet, cabbage overload American Chinese! For an American Chinese restaurant, this is much closer to the real thing that I learned to love in Taipei. The specialty is their dumplings, but everything we had was excellent. Entrees had plenty of vegetables, sauces were not "American sweet", and service is fast. I can only wish we had Chinese food like this in Virginia. One warning: an order of dumplings and one entree will easily feed three people. These are Chinese family style portions! They make pork chow mein with OYSTER sauce, it tastes like fish...I wanted the taste of pork, no fish. The sweet amd sour chicken was actually fried chicken with a strange crust seemed to be fried in fish oil and the sweet and sour sauce was on the side. To be honest I asked if it was my order because every thing tasted fishy even the rice, they said they cook everything in just oyster sauce. Twin Dragons was a bit of a let down. After reading great reviews, I was ready for some good American Chinese food. What I received did not resemble the Chinese food of my childhood, and in an unwelcome way. I got one of the cheap dinner specials that came with soup, fried rice, egg roll, and chicken and veggie stirfry over crunchy chow mein noodles. The fried rice was pretty good--it was tender and had some good flavor from the pork. The egg roll was giant, which at first was off-putting. I got through most of it, however, because the flavor was alright and the shell was crispy. The thing that I really was not impressed with was the chicken and veggie crispy chow mein. While the veggies were fresh, the flavor was bland and the crunchy chow mein noodles were not doing it for me. The saving grace of the experience that brought the dinner from 2-stars to 3-stars was the friendly, attentive staff taking care of me. Everyone working was engaging yet not pushy. If I do come back, I will try the pan fried noodles as they looked better than the crunchy ones I had. read more
