Amazing service and staff. Very helpful and knowledgable. I was able to come in and get my stuck battery out of my Camera. Thanks Tuttle! Definitely coming back read more

I needed a PC sync cord for my Speedlite and trigger, so I decided to visit Tuttle to find one. They did not have a PC to 3.5 mm cord i needed but had a used PC to PC sync cord. I used my camera and flash to test the cord and decided to buy it ($3). They had other new ones but they were much too long. The salesman Bernie was great and showed me several used and new lenses for my Canon T2i for my next vacation . Overall they are good and professional and run a well organized shop. They are retail and some of the pricing was moderate to high. But i came here for the service and needed a part. Bonus: they are close to my work place. read more

I'm always a fan of using local businesses, especially ones I can remember from my childhood! Came in here yesterday with, what I thought was, a broken lens. Turns out, I had purchased a protective filter so I just had to get a new one of those. Both Sam and the owner, Eric, were very helpful in demonstrating a JIVE wireless speaker for my phone - a product I'd never heard of. I am using it today and it is amazing! If they hadn't gone out of their way to show me, I would not have known about it. Since I work remotely - from various locations - and spend a lot of time in my car, this tool will quickly become my best friend. The service at Tuttle was wonderful and nobody was in too much of a hurry - a nice change. read more

Eric from Tuttle Cameras just called me (in addition to the reply he had posted on Yelp), and explained the situation which turned out to be human error, I will get credited for the additional cost. We all make mistakes and I accept that. I am now a big fan of Tuttle Cameras and will be back. A simple call back with an explanation can make a huge difference, thank you Eric for your follow up and perseverence. Here's the issue which happened a few weeks ago. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = I took a roll of black and white film, 24 exposures, I asked for negatives only, a few days later I went to pick up the negatives and paid for them. While at the store I chose which exposures to print, I was quoted $0.79 for each 4x6 print, so I decided to print the whole roll, a few days later I received a call telling me that my prints were ready however the price was going to be "a little more" $2.10 per print instead of the quoted $0.79. I went to pick up the prints and I ended up paying $69.36 ( $75.60 including tax), that's not $2.10 per print. I thought that maybe the gentlemen mistakenly added the cost of the negatives, I did some quick mental calculation but still the prints would be more than $2.10 and definitely way more than $0.79, I said nothing and left the store. You might think well it's my fault for not saying anything, I don't think so, I think it's the store's responsibility to make sure that the information given to customers is accurate and that customer has a good experience so they come back the second time around. In essence Tuttle Cameras charged me $69.36 for printing 24 4x6 exposures, that's $2.89 per print. Whether this is the market price or not is irrelevant, I was quoted $0.79 per print and it was based on that price that I decided to print them at Tuttle Cameras. The staff is very knowledgeable in photography, which is a plus, and they do give you some good advice and recommendations, they are also very friendly and professional. I recommend that Tuttle camera invest into a more accurate price quoting system, computerized maybe, in order to rule out human error. Your experience may be different and I don't discourage anyone from going there, however I personally will not be back again. read more

I went there for a passport picture, was in and out in less than 15 minutes. The man who took my picture was very nice and comical. I had on no makeup so I didn't look great but who cares, It wasn't a headshot and I can always go back again. Customer service was excellent and that is most important for me! read more

This place has every type of camera-related equipment you could ask for (bags, frames, batteries, film, tripods, albums etc), but the selection is limited. But they have decent service and moderate prices. They even offer classes. I hope they don't close like Terry's. read more

I recently bought a camera on ebay and no had no idea wasn't even sure I if the camera worked. I came in and I was greeted very politely. All the employees are very nice and are there for you if you have any questions. They told me how to use the camera, how to put in the film, what kind of film I need to buy and much more with free of charge. I really enjoyed my experience here and will definitely be back! read more

Went in to get my camera fixed, walked out in 5minutes with everything resolved thanks y'all!

Very decent prices and knowledgeable staff! I'm nee to photography and they have been more than helpful with suggestions.

This place is awesome! Everyone is very helpful and it's right here in the heart of bixby knolls, I love coming here after shopping at the better half boutique (another favorite) read more

The first time I went to this store, I will admit, I didn't know to much about camera's. The employee Kyle took his time and was explaining different lenses and lights to achieve my desired photos. He was very supportive, and very knowledgable. After deciding what I wanted, I asked if they provided any military discount. He stated although it wasn't company policy, he offered a 10% discount (on misc. items, not the lenses). Unfortunately he forgot to put it in place after I made my purchase. Which wasn't too big of a deal since it I only would've saved $3, $4. (now this is what sold me to the company) Once he realized it, he contacted me, apologized and offered to make it up to me next time I came in. Which he did at a later date. Fact is, this employee, Kyle, was not only very supportive, he had a level of integrity that is often not found in other stores or online. And the rest of the employees there seem just as knowledgable, just as supportive and respectful as this man. I don't normally rave about any company nor brand, but this is an exception. Never have I been so impressed by customer service that I had create a yelp account, just to write this review. Great job you guys, keep it up! Hooah! read more

Just went in for a lens and another accessories for my Nikon D5100. Great staff and good prices. Will return

Great camera store. Just made my first purchase here. Chris and the rest of the staff here were more than helpful. They were very friendly and professional. They quickly answered all my questions and made a great effort with requests that I had in regards to the item purchased. I know some prices may be cheaper on line, but you don't have the service and knowledge readily available on line as you do in the store. I will definitely shop here again to make future purchases. read more

I am a photography student. Let me warn anybody, student or anyone who doesn't like to pay more than he/she should. This store marks their prices 50% higher than Freestyle. 5 rolls of Kodak costs you 47 plus tax. At Freestyle? 30.xx plus tax. If you order online it will still only cost you 38 and you will get it within 3 days. Some of their staff are really nice and obviously are lovable people, but not their manager. He was invited to our school one year to talk about plastic cameras. He didn't know sh!t at all! He is just a regular salesman who doesn't know anything about what he's selling. Seriously, bring your business to elsewhere. Repair? Go to Samys. Buy anything you need at a good price? Go to Freestyle. If it's too far for you, order online from Freestyle. Even with shipping, the total cost will still be 20% less than what you have to pay for at Tuttle! And they are not well-stocked. Whatever you need to buy they are out. I remember one time I wanted to buy an extra box of black and white paper for back up. I went there every week for one whole month and they were still out of stock. I had to eventually go to Freestyle (my first trip ever to Freestyle) to buy it. Even our teachers asked us not to go to Tuttle to buy stuff. If you want to learn how to shoot or use a camera, go take a class at any community college. Take class with people with MFA, not those self claimed "professional photographers" salesmen who only know how hold a camera and press the button. read more

Charley E. My sister and I brought in a case of old cameras and film that had not been developed. We were helped by a very nice young lady named Kimberly who was professional, and had pretty good knowledge about the cameras and film. Very dry personalty wise. Took my Canon DSLR in for repairs. After the sales guy used a pencil eraser on the lens contacts (a strict no no on Canon's site) he pronounced that it needed to be sent out and there was a $10 fee for this. I would receive an estimate inside of 2 weeks. After 2+ weeks I called and was told the repair was not possible according to the repair facility and to come in and get it when it got back to the store. Given this was around the July 4th weekend there was an acceptable delay. I went in and retrieved the camera and there was no explanation whatsoever as to why the camera was beyond repair. It was like here -- take it, no suggestions as to another option and no suggestion to look at a replacement. Totally disinterested in my dilemma. So I bought a new camera body elsewhere that replaces what I had. Update: I got my new camera and it's great. But the old camera still works in Manual Mode. Works great too. All I have to do is know a bit about what I'm doing to get great shots. Tuttle folks never bothered to mention that there is an afterlife for a camera that looses its auto function. Heck, I can work around that. I had a film camera before, didn't you? These guys really suck. Reduced to 1 star. read more

Recently my Fuji X-T2, went berserk on me! Took it too Tuttle Camera and within a few days it was back in my hands all clean and working perfectly. I had confidence in purchasing things from this store as well as in their employees. Apparently my thoughts were wrong. This past Saturday at their back of the store sale, I purchased an exterior flash for a camera. I was hesitant in purchasing it because it was for an old 35mm film canon. The employee, who seemed to be a teenager, guaranteed me that if it doesn't work with the camera, to bring it back, no problem. Well I was hoping it would work. However as it turns out, it was not compatible with the camera. So I called to let them know I was going to return it. The person who answered the phone, Richard, told me that "all sales are final" at that sale. I told him I was never told that and mentioned too, what this kid had told me about returning it if it wasn't compatible. He said there was nothing hey can do about it. I told him that maybe they should clue in all their employees, juveniles or adults, about their policies before they speak to customers. The purchase was only $25 but it is the principle. I am very disappointed with this store. I love this store, but apparently they let anyone say anything just to sell something. I have been referring so many of my fellow photography acquaintances and friends to them. I will go else where for all my photography needs. read more

Nice place with a helpful staff. Plus it's a family owned place. There really isn't anymore family owned camera shop.

Great store. Great staff. Took a 1 hour "basic" camera class and it was very beneficial. We rent lenses from them. Very reasonable prices and friendly service. Totally recommend Tuttle Cameras! read more

Had never been before, but looked up a local place to do some camera work and it seemed like a good shop to try. I paid $65 for a sensor cleaning on my Canon 5D MKII. Price seemed about right, but I got my camera back and took a few test photos right away. Sensor isn't clean. It is cleaner than before, but by no means clean. Still a bunch of spots on the photos. Tested different freshly cleaned lenses to make sure it wasn't the lens, and it's definitely the sensor. I don't know if they don't test them after they clean them, or if they just aren't that thorough, but it boils down to the job not getting done and a waste of $65. Also, they either swapped one of my Canon batteries for one that's scratched up....or they just scratched mine up somehow? Either way, kinda weird and sucks. Definitely won't ever return here. I wanted to leave 1 star, but the staff I dealt with both dropping off and picking up my camera were nice, so I figured I'd bump it up one star. read more

Its not like Samy's or Ritz its much better. Instead of saving a couple bucks on B&H online and you will get more for your money with the great customer service they offer at Tuttle. They have everything you need and offer it in a local camera shop. read more

Unfortunately I had a horrible experience with Tuttle Camera. I brought in a lens to get fixed. I thought they had fixed it and didn't think I had to test it to make sure they did it right. I few months went by before I had to use the lens. When I went to use it the pictures came out blurry. I took the lens back to Tuttle and they agreed that the repair had not been done correctly but that I was out of luck because 90 days had past. Almost $300 down the drain. I tried to do "the right thing" and patronize my local businesses and ended up getting screwed. :( read more

I honestly don't know where to start. My boyfriend told me about this place and I've came here about twice already. Both times were with a doubt pleasant trips. The workers are very helpful and friendly. I went in with my boyfriend the second to sell his camera and we were being helped by the store manager and I have to say that he's the nicest person I've ever met. He really helped us out and made us feel welcomed. He bought my boyfriend's camera for $30 and when my boyfriend asked if they sold anything for a Canon A-1 like lens, the store manager told us to hold on a second and went to the back. When he came back he brought out a Telephoto Lens and passed it to us. When I was taking a look at it and asked for how much it was, he pretty much gave us a pretty good deal I could not refuse! Most definitely going to come here more often to develop my film and buy more lens, film, & accessories here from now on! Also, if you have any questions, they tell you exactly what you want to hear. They develop any film and sell pretty much everything you need. This place is a must go if you're a photographer of any kind. If you want to buy a camera, you should come here because they give you a reasonable price for it. You won't be disappointed at all! read more

If I could pick one word to describe the workers here it would be pretentious. They are all pretentious and stuck up photo snobs who are too busy trying to make you feel stupid rather than help you out. Also, their customer service skills suck. If I come in enthusiastic and ready to spend my hard earned on your establishment then I expect the same from your end. I think I'll have better luck with amazon. Maybe that's why amazon is winning, because they have good customer skills. Think about it. read more

I liked this camera store for a couple of reasons. The staff is friendly, professional. Prices of equipment are competitive when they have a sale. However, when it comes to camera repair, in this case, my Nikon zoom lens, they won't step up for the customer when needed. I dropped my zoom lens, and noticed it would "stick" while zooming and brought it to Tuttle repair. After paying the $25 service charge, it was sent out for repair. I waited 2 weeks before I called the store for the estimate. They apologized for not calling and within a couple of weeks, I had my lens back with a new lens barrel, and it seemed fine. About 3 months of very little use, I picked up my camera to shoot a family event and the zoom slowly began to "stick" again. I only used the camera 3 other times during this period, maybe a hundred exposures, it was not dropped. Unfortunately, it was a couple weeks past the 90 days warranty period. Tuttle did send it back for another estimate free of charge. It was going to cost me another $250 to replace the lens barrel again. How could the barrel break if the lens was not dropped? I suspected they missed something on the initial repair. Tuttle did not offer any help or would not inquire with the repair service for a better explanation for the barrel replacement. I lost almost $300. Tuttle lost a customer. read more

I came into the store the other day, I have been coming into Tuttle's Cameras for YEARS, I always had Bernie help me out, then Alex and then Blanca when I went there the other day, I was ignored and finally when someone helped me, it was a like I was talking to a kids instead of talking to an experienced adult. The guy kept forcing me to buy more than what I needed, and while I was waiting there I overheard two coworkers talking about Bernie and Blanca, I was so disgusted of how they badmouth two people that I held in very high standards. If they talked about them, who is to say what they thought about their customers. If you have a problem with a coworker keep it behind close doors. I was so upset that I left and drove all the way to Torrance to Paul's Camera and will now buy my supplies there. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. Poor, horrible customer service. Let's be more adult and leave high school where it belongs, in HIGH SCHOOL! read more

Could not have been nicer. I had to call with one of those "dumb questions I should have known" about an older camera. This is a very nice store... it appears to have a great selection and be very clean. What I was MOST impressed with, however, were the EMPLOYEES!!. GREAT!! I went in with my camera that honestly I have not been able to use for like a year no joke... because I had been told that I would have to send it in to Cannon. It was a more expensive powershot cannon model and the Lens was frozen in the open position but it would not take photos. Expecting 100$ at cannon just to diagnose the problem much less fix it.... I had Not sent it in. I was needing my camera and decided on a lark to look on Yelp for a camera store hoping that they may be able to at least tell me what was wrong and if it was worth it to send it off or just buy a new one... OR if I was realllllllllly blessed mayyyyyyybe it was just frozen because of dirt or something as the last thing I had done before it broke was go for a day at the beach. Tuttle had GREAT marks on yelp so I took a chance. THEY EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS!! as they were able to in like 5 minutes tell me it WAS just dirt and not only that FIX the problem. Then they did some added cleaning with their brush tools and double checked that the problem was solved. When I asked how much I owed they said NOTHING :)) super nice of them. I tried to insist but that is just how they roll there. So I have nothing but great things to say. They know what they are doing and they are very nice to deal with. read more

Very disappointed in the customer service today but I guess anyone can have a bad day. I have had very old photos printed before with excellent results. My order this time was delayed by three weeks due to the contracted printer getting ill according to the employee who was willing to redo the poor quality photos i received but I guess the other employee told him he couldn't while I was out of their presence. Great customer service and I didn't experience any of the snootiness you might find at other camera shops. I came in last month to get my camera cleaned after I saw a lot of lint in the viewfinder. The staff (I think it was Rory) took the time to double check the inside of the camera and explain that it wouldn't show up on my photos. Being a complete newbie to photography I didn't realize this, and the lint isn't that distracting so I was able to save my money. Plus I got a student discount on several rolls of film. I'll definitely check them out again if I need another camera or supplies in the future. read more
