We got great service from Daniel to get our passport photos taken! He was really nice, took them quickly, printed them while we waited, and he got all four of us done in about 8 minutes out the door. He charged the same price as CVS to take and print the photos but did not charge us extra for digital files to my email. Plus his antique camera collection was pretty cool to look at!. Planning to return another day to get some old negatives digitized and will update my review when I do. read more

I went in for passport photos. Daniel was on his lunch break and did not mind at all. He took my photo right away and did the finishing touch up on his computer. He took one shot and the photo turned out great. He definitely knows what he is doing. I know you can take your passport photos with your phone with a white background but the photo is going to stay on your passport for 10 ten years so I would just use a professional to do it. It was a reasonable price at $15 + tax. I received two photos and one electronic copy emailed to me. I renewed my passport online with no issues with the photo. Easy!! By the way, he is moving a few doors down (closer to Subway). read more

I came here because I needed a passport picture. The passport picture I taken 4 days prior did not come out well. I went to a notary shop which offered passport photos. I was very unhappy with the pic so I had to go to more of a professional. I found this place surfing the internet. The reviews were awesome, so I decided to give it a try. This place is great becaise they are very honest and quality in their services. I first called them to ask if they still develop APS films and surprisingly he said yes. First and foremost, I called and went to many photo shops and none of them develop APS anymore. It was a really hard find, but I guess that just leads to a better opportunity to go to thia guy's shop. It was clean and showed alot of the products and services that he did. For example, printing on shirts, phone cases, framing, of course printing from digital or film, and he also does DVD transfer from VHS. So after I brought in my APS film he said that he is not sure if he can do it because it may not fit his machine. And so he tried and said that it won't fit, bit he said there was another way. It was to take it out of the crarridgeand print it out manually. Most stores/shops won't go through all that trouble and just say that they can't do it, but at least this guy suggested and tried it. He was also very informing about what vintage SLR camera is good for a beginning film photographer like me. And I asked around before him too and he gave about the same answer, so I know he was being honest. His shop is pretty cool, he has alot of vintage cameras on display but is not for sale. It just shows that this guy is the real deal and knows about cameras. Oh and they also develop 135mm black and white and print for 8.99 and it's a bit expensive because they do everything manually. Color is cheaper because they can just use the machine. This person was really nice and I highly recommend this place for your photo needs. read more

For a recent job we gave him, we only had an old, low quality image that we wanted blowing up. My family and I having been customers for many years for all our photo/video needs, passport photos, and more. As I was planning a surprise for my parents anniversary, I unfortunately got their wedding VHS stuck in the VHS player. I was so distraught and frantically called the store. Daniel suggested I bring the machine over with the tape, and he was able to get the tape out super quick and without damage! I was so grateful! Having a local place that develops film is a blessing, in any religion. It doesn't seem like anyone takes the time to continue taking care of film machines anymore, which used to be all over. The best part about Fotoby is that everyone working there is really nice and helpful. They know what they are talking about. I was able to have an old 110 roll developed, while places like the 1 hour photo, on Western and Park Western, could not do it. Great service, very helpful, wide variety of services, and a wall of vintage cameras..which would earn any respectable institution 5 stars. read more

I brought 35mm color film to be developed and scanned to digital copy and 120 color color film just to be developed. It was done by the time he told me it would be and the digital images were ok but after i scanned in my medium format film, i noticed how dirty the film was. I cleaned my scanned and film before scanning and now looking back at the negatives i see the dirt was dried onto the emulsion after the development process. With that being said I will take the drive out to weho to get my film taken care of by my old photo lab or spend the extra money to send it out to a professional company. read more

Great place to get your Passport photos, or any of your other photo needs. I came for my passport photo, he had a mirror to check your hair etc and he even advised me I needed a little lipstick(which I really did), he went over the first photo with me and then we redid it. I liked that you got to see what kind of picture you'll be carrying for the next ten years. Often times we end up with awful pictures we'd rather not show anyone (passport/license) but he takes the time to go over the picture and make any necessary adjustments . So I was very happy. Only took maybe ten minutes. For $20 I got four pictures, which is a good deal. I needed two extra for a visa. I like the shop, lots of cool old cameras to look at, chairs while you wait. They also do 1hour photo if you're still developing film. Great shop, great service read more

I took a roll of film in to see how well the scans would be and came out really disappointed seeing them all be blue. I was worried that my film was exposed incorrectly, but after taking them to another shop, they were just fine. I won't be back. read more
