I love John Paul designs and will not go anywhere else for my framing needs. The selection is so extensive and Paul has such an artistic eye that he helps you pick the best mat, glass, and frame for whatever artwork you have. I also asked him to frame corkboard for me to hold my earrings. He's creative; anything that could use a frame, contact him! read more

Excellent consultation with exciting choices and on-point artistic input. I spent a few hours with John today working through a collection of fine-art prints I've owned for years, yet they never made it out of their shipping tubes. Lol, I called them posters, John informed me they were much more than posters and deserving of high quality framing - thank you, John. What excited me most was each print got its own attention. John treated each work like an old friend and shared his expertise on what they needed to look amazing and gave me options on looks, vibes and how to avoid looking like chain-framing pedestrian pieces. I can't wait to see the final products, of which I'll share photographic results. And, I'd be remiss if I didn't add that John was a really nice guy, so easygoing and kind - who doesn't love that in today's crazy world?! 5 stars. Thank you, John Paul's Designs! read more

We reached out to get a framing quote and had a great experience! Communication was clear and timely, and John Paul was really helpful throughout the process. I've never gotten anything professionally framed and to be honest, I was a little nervous at first because I had no idea what to expect. Thankfully, working with John Paul's Designs made everything a breeze. John was super knowledgeable and had a wide selection of frames and glass options for us to look at. He was patient with us and answered all our questions --however silly! What I loved most was that he was able to bring our vision to life and recommend the best woods/textures/colors to match what was already hanging in our house. We highly recommend working with John, he's great and will take great care to make what you choose to frame an heirloom that will last generations. read more

First of all found this place based on reviews alone. Was not disappointed at all. Glad I had an opportunity to come here and work with Paul. He did an amazing job bringing back a memorable piece of my military pass. He made a perfect custom frame to hold up a very heavy piece of art work that was made for me when I was getting ready to leave the military. He is a veteran, a friend, and a true American worker. He is honest in his works and he has an amazing passion for his work of arts. Thank you for helping me show off some thing that means a lot to me in an amazing case with museum glass. Can't wait to bring more stuff for him to create. He is a master of his craft and it shows on everything he touches. read more

I couldn't be more pleased with the way my Louis Vuitton silk scarf turned out. I initially went to two different framers to get a quote and get insight on their mounting process--pinning or tucking it on the foam board losing some of the edges of the scarf. Those processes didn't sit well with me. Paul suggested sewing it on using a nylon thread and wow the result was nothing short of amazing. I'm so glad I decided with John Paul's Designs. Went to have my parents' 25th wedding anniversary photo framed for my mom's birthday. Had the kindest, most professional and best experience here. There were so many frame and mate options to choose from and ended up with the most beautiful end product. Money more than well spent on the beautiful craftsmanship here!! Amazing framer. I am extremely picky and have always used a framing company on the west side until I found John Paul's Designs. Don't be fooled by the unassuming store front. This designer has a massive inventory of frames and has an impeccable eye. I am highly impressed! read more

Eureka! I found a gold mine! It's JOHN PAUL'S DESIGNS right here in Torrance. I had two pieces of art to be framed--one would be a simple matter of selecting a plain black frame and a white mat, and the other involved mounting a trio of special tiles. Paul took one look at the tiles and, understanding how meaningful they were to me, instantly showed me the perfect presentation. As he has a very large inventory, I expected to spend at least an hour hemming and hawing over various ways the tiles could be displayed. But, because Paul is a true artist and he knows his inventory so well, I was spared that precious hour. Thank you, Paul! I'm so pleased with my picture and I love my tiles. Each time I look at the tiles, I am happily transported to the place they represent. You are my absolute choice when someone asks me for a recommendation to have high quality framing done. Paul, you are indeed a master! Shirley M read more

Paul has done several projects for us and we have been very happy with his work. His design suggestions, craftsmanship, attention to detail, work ethic and more are all execellent and top of the line! He has done wainscoting; created a custom built-in media cabinet (see picture); custom dining room cabinets and entry casing, and an incredibly beautiful dining room table and eight chairs! (see pictures) They are spectacular, beyond words, heirlooms! We were not able to find anything close the quality of workmanship he has put into all the projects here at our house. On top of that he is honest, trustworthy and easy to work with. We can't say enough good things about Paul and his work. You will not be disappointed. read more

Highly recommend! I needed a very special floating frame for a large metallic print. I brought the art to six frame stores in the South Bay to see if they could do the job. Four of them had no idea how to do a floating frame. One said they could do it but were ridiculously overpriced. Thank goodness someone referred me to John Paul's Designs! Paul knew exactly what to do and his prices are very reasonable. He also delivered and installed the artwork in our home, again for a very good price. Best of all, Paul is a very nice person and easy to communicate with during the process. I'm happy to support a local, family-owned brick and mortar business and will use him for all my frame and art installation needs. read more

When my first, best kitty Murphy suddenly passed earlier this year, I knew we had to display her remains prominently, along with at least a picture. After scouring Yelp, I really liked the reviews for John John Paul's Designs, so I drove over there to talk to Paul about what I needed. Paul was a delight, and as a fellow cat person, he totally understood what I was going for. When the idea for a picture changed to a portrait commissioned by my wife's sister, Paul didn't flinch. I left Murphy's remains, including the fragile pawprints in clay, for over a month with Paul, and he couldn't have treated them better. As you can see, the end result is glorious. The custom frames, especially for the ashes box, are sturdy and well-made, and they were easily hung with the supplied nails. Thank you so much Paul for the wonderful memorial to the best cat ever. You did a wonderful job, and now she'll always be looking down on us, just like she always wanted. ;) read more

Brought in rare photo to frame. John Paul in addition to sharing an admiration for the image gave excellent advice on how to frame the image. I found John Paul's Designs on google maps when I was looking for a local frame shop to help me with securing an illustration to a vintage frame I bought for a gift. I'm glad I didn't try to do this myself or I wouldn't have found this true craftsman. John is sincere with a wealth of knowledge and experience. He replaced the glass with a superior UV protected glass to help maintain color, fixed in the illustration to the frame, wrapped the back cleanly, added feet and a hanging wire ready for use, and even put the artist information in a protective sleeve to secure to the back as I requested. Best of all it only cost me $10. After this experience I'm trying to see what else I can bring in to have framed or hunt for new art to get the magic finishing touch. Thank you John for your passion and talents! P.s. The location is in the Skypark business center all the way in the back. If you are circling around the Sam's club parking lot trying to figure out how to get there like I did, its on the other side of the wall via Skypark Dr. read more

All I can say is WOW! I needed something rushed and Martin completed it right away. Took the time to make it look beautiful. EXCELLENT!

I found John Paul on yelp. I've framed a number artwork, diplomas and photographs in the past. But by far John's work is the best. His prices are good and he has great suggestions. I recently got an artwork reframed by John. I didn't know but it was an original piece by a South Korean painter who passed away. With th e new frame by John the artwork looks much more contemporary and it really compliments the work. I have it hung up by my staircase and I can't wait to show it off. read more

Did I have fun w/ John Paul or what. I spent a couple hours with this low-key, talented, framer who has spent the last couple decades developing his craft. His passion for music was infectious. I met a kindred spirit as we discussed the state of the music industry, the over commercialization of it all and the dying breed of musicians who not only know how to play an actual instrument, but can development "movements" akin to what you might find in classical music. Of course we were 1/2 way talking out of our asses but did our best to emulate rock critics who know a thing or two. To start, I took my new officially stamped (#63/#500) Alex Grey/TOOL, (signed by all members ) print to get baptized and decorated appropriately. It's a beauty. I can't wait to see the finished product. To boot, the guy pulls out a signed Eddie Van Halen 'signature' guitar he's also working on mounting for a client. Van Halen was MY band growing up. My time there felt destined. My passions were all on display...literally, and I felt like what I was doing was ME. read more

I'm so pleased with the work done by Paul for my husband's Christmas gift.
