I've used Andersen's to both repair, and buy new, window coverings and I am very happy with their service. - Originally, I bought Hunter Douglas roller shades (through a different company) and after being installed, had many problems. They were infuriating to deal with and couldn't get fixes right, so I called Andersen's. Luis found ways to fix the shades that Hunter Douglas couldn't!! - When it was time to put new blinds on two windows, I called Andersen's. Ended up buying Hunter Douglas again, but with Luis helping with the decision and his team installing, the blinds are great. We installed motorized because they are hard for us to reach and Luis helped with Hunter Douglas app. They're always professional, helpful, arrive on time, are extremely organized and leave the house clean when they leave. We have some Hunter Douglas blinds. One of them is above a sliding glass door and is supported by three brackets. It is large and has been in place for over 20 years and subjected to much use. Two of the brackets cracked. I called Andersen's Decorating Center in Lomita; they were quite busy and could not arrange an immediate service call. I went to the store and Cindy and Isiah were incredibly great. They showed me the parts and options I needed to repair it and explained in great detail how to do it. I will not recommend this place the worst place and worst customer service ever...if I can give zero star I will.. I brought my 3 blinds because their was a problem with the string and I was told by Cindy and the other guy that I will be charge for 35 dollars each blinds and the guy said that they can fix the string but they won't be able to clean my blinds so I said ok..and they said I will get called once it's ready and said that they have to charged me right away and I was like why are you charging me you haven't even fix it yet and Cindy said yes we have to she said so I got charged for $105 dollars then I called after 3 days then I was told by Cindy that I have to pay $195 dollars more and I was like why I'm paying $195 dollars more you told me that I will pay only $105 and she said no you have to pay in order to fix it...so I said you told me that I will only pay $105 dollars and Cindy said I can't do anything she said so do you want us to fix? But you have to pay $195 dollars more and I said I will not pay $195 dollars more I will just pick up my blinds and I want my money back that you charged me and Cindy said no because that's for the inspection payment to check for the blinds and I told Cindy that you and the guy told me I will be charged for 35 dollars each to fix for the string and now you are charging me more and she said that I can't do anything we can't return your money back she said.. if you want to pick up your blinds you can pick up.. then I was trying explain what I was told and Cindy said DO YOU WANNA PICK YOUR BLINDS OR.NOT!!!!!??? She started yelling and I said you don't have to yell at me. And she repeated ARE you GONNA PICK UP OR NOT!!!!!??? So I picked up my blinds and they didn't give my money back... this store is MONEY HUNGRY...they tells you to pay first before they fix your blinds which didn't happen they didn't fix it at all and the charged that was made is only for Inspection which they didn't explain. Or didn't specifically told me about it because I was told that they are gonna fix it because it just a string and the guy said that they have the parts already and later on they asked for more money..ridiculous ridiculous ridiculous... read more

Upon their recommendation several years ago we installed a certain style of Hunter Douglas blinds. There is a pull-down draw string mechanism that keeps breaking on our large windows. They may be great for small windows but never should have been installed for large heavy shades. Bottom line I was told "sorry you're going to have to pay for repairs or you can call Hunter Douglas yourself". These never should have been recommended in the first place. I believe in standing behind a product that I sell and doing my best to make the customer happy. Unfortunately not everyone shares my philosophy. Oh well. read more

This place has been around for many years and must be doing something right. I called and asked if my wife and I could swing by to look at and discuss some customs shutters. They discouraged this as they didn't have their expert there and we should talk with him. So we have our number and waited for a call, and waited, and waited. Still waiting BTW. Sounds like business has been good as it has been for many contractors during COVID and I am happy for them but being responsive when busy and flush with work says something about that business. Good luck to this place. I'm sure they are also more expensive than many options available thru Yelp. I suggest reaching out to Eric at Superior Blinds and shutters. The process was truly a pleasure and outstanding in every regard. Andersen met every deadline, fulfilled every promise and the beautiful results exceeded our expectations. The team is professional, knowledgeable, and really cares about their clients. Louie is excellent at design and installation and is involved from start to finish. Vanessa and Paola who work in the showroom are so helpful and great to work with. To decrease the UV light in our home, Louie installed 1% UV roller shades for our kitchen/bathroom, and a room darkening shade for a large skylight. We are thrilled with the quality/beauty of the Hunter Douglas materials. The shades not only beautify our home, but also protect us from harmful UV. Couldn't be happier with Luis at Andersen's Decorating Center. Luis' background in design was invaluable and the pride he takes in his work really shows. We recently worked with him to select and install shades in our home. After a brief discussion about what we were looking for in shades, Luis came out with some samples, helped us select colors/materials, and took measurements. He was great about keeping us informed, during manufacture and delivery, and was on hand participating in the installation. His crew was efficient and clean, and really paid attention to detail with things like routing of wiring for powered mechanisms and ensuring that everything lined up and worked correctly. Luis didn't leave until he had confirmed that everything was installed correctly and functioning perfectly. In addition to to installing the shades, Luis gave us some great ideas on how to further enhance the look of our rooms with ideas like color-matched, wooden valences. I wrote this review on 6/6/15 but I posted to AndersOn's instead of here - AndersEn's. We were "in a jam" ... one of our vertical blinds broke in our master bedroom on a Saturday. The BIG issue was that our 2 yr. old twin grand kiddies were visiting and napped in our bedroom because the blinds keep it dark. I brought the blind here and Patty "cleared the decks" ... somehow ... she was able to have the blind repaired that day ... so the naps would not be a problem. WOW ... what customer service! Other retail businesses could learn much about "the care and feeding" of customers and building customer loyalty here Today, 7/15/16 - Ivan made a "house call" to repair and adjust some other blinds. Ivan is GREAT. He's nice, "knows his stuff" and has a wonderful sense of humor. WE can't buy this excellent service on the internet ... We hired Andersen's for a house full of Hunter Douglas shades, some are motorized. The owner is so professional, so helpful, and very responsive. The showroom is large and made it easier to decide on what would look best, plus his trips out to our home to measure and decide on products. His recommendations were perfect. I ordered about 30 shades from them. The order process and every step till installation were easy and smooth. On the installation day which was in March, Louis came with 2 other installers. They were so organized and clean. They install all the shades and left. But since there were too many shades to install for 1 day, they didn't have time to steam the creases and fix the issues. Louis said he will come back another day to steam the shades and fix the shade which has an installation problem. It is Mid October now ad 7 months passed and he didn't come back yet. I contacted him too many times and every time he said he is short in staff and he will come next week. So, if you order through them make sure you solve the issues on the installation day since they won't come back again. Their customer service after installation and getting the money is so bad. I was about to order shades for the rest of my windows but I will go with another company. I spent lots of money to install Hunter Douglas Shades on my window but they don't look as nice as they should be. read more

I feel compelled to write a review because Andersen's has been wonderful to work with and they did a fabulous job installing our shades. We were initially going to use an interior decorator that was recommended to us by a friend, but after weeks of phone tag and waiting, we decided to call Andersen' on a Saturday after frustration with the decorator's responsiveness. Patty answered the phone at Andersen's and was very friendly and helpful. She arranged to have Hal come to our house the same day to do measurements. He arrived on time, tape measure and books in hand. He spent an hour with us measuring and talking over our options. When he left, he told us Patty would call us Monday with a quote and sure enough, Monday afternoon, Patty called us with a quote that was slightly less than the decorator. They were able to place the order the same day and 3 weeks later Hal called to tell us our shades were in and asked if we were available to do the install the same day. One thing to note that I found very assuring was that Hal did the initial measurements AND also did the install. I've heard from friends and I read in a lot of other reviews that it's common for miscommunication to happen when the measurer and installer aren't the same person. Two thumbs up! Had my Hunter Douglas shades installed through Andersen's. Louie M. is very experienced in his line of work and is extremely helpful in giving decorating advice. He was very knowledgeable about shades/window blinds and was willing to spend time to answer my questions. He kept me posted about my order and also accommodated to my schedule when installation was ready. Even though I live 40 miles away from the store (I am from Arcadia), he was willing to drive there with his guys to remove the old shades and install the new ones on different occasions. Andersen's Decorating provided and installed our Hunter Douglas vertical blinds. From ordering to keeping us informed of the install everyone at the Center made it a headache free experience. Wonderful experience all around! I walked in the show room on PVDN and received a warm welcome! The staff was helpful, but not pushy. They understood my needs and scheduled something right away. I never felt pushed into working with them at all. Louis called me within a couple of days and was out for a measurement in no time! I had difficulty narrowing down what I thought would look good and be functional and Louis guided me through the entire process. He definitely has an eye for decor and color! Some years ago I purchased new sliding glass doors for my condo. My old custom-made blinds would not work with my new windows. After many hours of trying to make something work I stumbled upon Andersen's. The clerk there suggested that perhaps "spacers" between the wall and the blind hinge might do the trick. It did. Cost to me: $5.00. Sales for Andersen's: $0 Some months later they fixed a custom-made blind. He said it was the best money I ever spent and it should last a while. He was right. Three years later all is well. Cost: $25. My savings? About $500 and more work than I wanted to do. This is my payback and an honest recommendation. read more

Excellent customer service. We were greeted by Patti who was very friendly, helpful and efficient. I brought in two wood blinds, under warranty, to be fixed. Patti quickly got all the necessary information and explained to us how everything is handled and would be given a call when the blinds were ready. We had problem with the tilting device the in the blinds.The blinds would totally open and close properly. We brought them to Patty at Andersen's Decorating Center since they do expert repairs on blinds. Patty took good care of us having the blinds repaired back to normal operation again. Patty is a special person who really cares about the customer. I had to drive from Culver City to drop it off and return a few days later to pick it up. Patty made sure all the repairs were done properly and it would be ready when I needed to pick it up. I really appreciate her dedication to pleasing the customer. Just picked up one of the two blinds I had brought in two months ago. When I dropped them off, they took my charge card and told me the inspection cost of $35 per shade would be applied to the service. After not hearing from them for about a month, I went in to see if the blinds were ready. They told me one could not be restrung and the other still wasn't fixed. I took the "unfixable" one home. They said they would call me when the other was ready. In the meantime, I was charged $70 on my card. I called again two days ago and the remaining shade still had not been repaired. I called again today and was told the shade was ready. It only required a clip that held the strings in place when opening and closing the blinds. Then I was told I needed to pay another $40. When I objected, they finally let me take my shade home without another charge of $40. This after waiting two months for a repair. read more

Wow!! Where do I start!! This company is fantastic. From Patti that answers the phones, works to get your paperwork together and make sure everything goes smoothly, to Louis who is fantastic at measuring, ordering, installing and ensuring everything is perfect, and everyone else in between that helped with measuring and installing. When we had valances made to cover the mechanics of the shades, Luis came out to meet with our contractor to go over designs and discuss how best to install the valances. He has quite the eye for decorating. Once the valances were ready, he came out, removed all the blinds, then returned to reinstall them all for a second time once the valances were up .... even making sure everything was perfect on Dec 23rd before company arrived for Christmas. This was no easy feat as I have 25 very large blinds. Can't say enough about the quality of customer service and punctuality of everyone. It today's corporate environment where customer service is a dying breed, these people have it figured out. Have already recommended them to a friend who was also a pleased as I am. This was a Hunter Douglas warranty claim on items purchased trough Costco. LOUIE and Ivan came to my house with a tall ladder to take down the shade. Ivan returned the next day with the repaired product. Patti did a great job dealing with the warranty repair through Hunter Douglas. A very pleasant experience. Louie Martinez, the owner of the business, was extremely helpful in all aspects of the job. He patiently assisted us in coming up with just the right window coverings for the house and our western sun exposure. He personally came to the island to measure every window, and followed up with the installation and and rechecking once the job was done. I was stuck in traffic and and was dangerously close to closing time, so I called to ask if they could wait for me - no problem! Not only did they wait for me, but Francisco repaired my blinds as I waited, to save my another pick up trip! It was 5 pm on Sat, I'm sure they were looking forward to going home, but ended up keeping the store open for another half hour for me! I recently had Hunter Douglas window treatment (Luminette) installed by Andersen. I was actually referred by my neighbor friend, she was happy with her purchase with Andersen. After receiving a couple of consultations and quotes from other establishments, I've decided to go with Andersen. All and all, I'm happy with the purchase. I had 2 personal consultations (different staffs, one with the owner Louie) with them and both gave me consistent recommendations/suggestions. Staffs were punctual, courteous and patient from start to end. However, one of the windows didn't turn out the way I thought I had ordered. The measurement was off due to what seemed to be a miscommunication but it was rectified nicely by Louie. I had to pay extra for them to replace with a wider width but happy with the outcome. Lesson learned: To avoid any miscommunication and confusion, I highly recommend an order be in WRITING that includes info. such as color, actual measurement, price, warranty etc... a contract if you will. I would have gave it a 5* otherwise! read more

Since my last review, we've continued to use Andersen's to update and improve upon our living space! We ordered Vignette (Hunter Douglas) shades on a variety of doors and windows throughout the house, based on consultations with Louie. In fact, I really appreciate Louie's suggestion to replace some roller shades we had (based on their outdated style and limited function) -- and I find through the seasons, how much better our living space is based on the improved control of light, privacy, not to mention beauty. Can't thank Louie enough for all the time he spent with us (A LOT!) here in-home and in-studio, and my husband and I completely appreciate his professionalism, excellent design ideas, and customer service (he always accommodated our busy schedule!).
