Not too impressed. Came by an hour before closing on a Friday for pick up. The restaurant was completely empty. We took our food home and the chicken Adana was crazy dry. They gave some garlic sauce on the side which I've never heard of at a middle eastern spot and it ran out faster Than I would have wanted, so the meal was super boring. Good size portion though. My husband ordered the lamb moussaka which was untraditional and soggy. Also displeased. Staff was nice but otherwise I wouldn't recommend. read more

Turquoise is so money and it doesn't even know it. The decor is made up of what I believe is classic Turkish tapestry, pottery and art. The authentically ethnic ambiance is topped off with nice and subtle music in the background. The host remembered my father's voice from when he called to make the reservation when we first walked in. Also, he thoroughly answered all of my questions I had about several of the dishes on the menu to ensure I got what I really wanted. Comfortable, casual and welcoming. The best way to describe Turkish food is a cross between Greek and Middle Eastern. I don't know if that's an accurate culinary description but it makes geographical sense to me. Anyway, for appetizers they had the best stuffed grape leaves that I've ever had. Sometimes they can be too bitter and soggy but these are perfect. Also, the falafel was outstanding. Their main courses are comprised of three sections: fish, lamb/ chicken and vegetarian. I had the Doner (classic Turkish dish: thinly sliced and seasoned lamb with rice and grilled vegetables) and Mousaka. Everything was fresh, perfectly seasoned, tender and delicious. Also, the portions were well thought out. No complaints whatsoever. To finish the feast off, try the Turkish coffee. Its like rocket fuel- you'll be sprinting through sheetrock and bench pressing mini coopers in no time. It is no secret that Westchester County is completely over saturated with Italian restaurants that all boast identical menus. I think its easy to get lost in the glut of chicken parm, pasta and pizza. Turquoise is refreshingly different. Give it a shot. read more

I grew up in Larchmont and come back often to visit family. Turquoise is one of my favorite restaurants in Larchmont. Over the years, the food has been consistently fresh and delicious and the staff always helpful and friendly. Whether, I am eating at the restaurant or taking it out, I am never disappointed. Today, for a takeout lunch, we had the Cold Meze Platter which is a little bit of everything and very tasty! We also had an order of the Sigara Borek which is like a delightful crispy spring roll housing a scrumptious mixture of feta and spinach. The pita bread that comes with it all is soft and freshly baked. If you haven't already checked this place out, please do. It's a little piece of Mediterranean heaven. read more

Turquoise is my go-to for family dinners. I almost don't want to review it because I love that we can always get a table, even on a Friday or Saturday night. It's nice and quiet, perfect for a family gathering. The staff is all friendly and doesn't bat an eyelash at my super picky mother's sometimes strange requests. I've had almost everything on the menu and it's very good. The fish is boring, unless what you're looking for is just a simple grilled fish. A friend took me here on a Thursday night. Parking is apparently mostly on the street, and that might be a problem to find, though it helps that the meters are inactive after 6 p.m. (My friend and I didn't have to look too long for a street space.) The wait staff said there is also parking "behind the building" and in the train station parking lot after 6 p.m. I wasn't exactly sure what "behind the building" meant, as I circled it once and didn't see a parking lot per se, but maybe if I were to go back and look, I would find one. I think you're probably better off looking for a spot on the street, even if it's a little ways up or down from Turquoise, and hoofing it to the restaurant. The interior is kind of dim, though I probably could have managed to read if I had been alone. Everyone we encountered, from busboy to wait staff to manager (he chimed in about the parking) was unfailingly polite and friendly. We split the zucchini pancake as an appetizer, and it was tasty. It came with a sauce called cacik (pronounced CADJ-ik) that's akin to the Indian raita. I had the Turquoise Delight, and my friend had the vegetarian kebab, which strangely came sans the actual kebab. My Delight was an artfully arranged melange of broccoli, carrots, zucchini, olives, and pine nuts over hummus. (It also came with mushrooms, but I asked for it without and was promptly accommodated.) The hummus looked like a pancake underneath all the veggies; the broccoli florets were arranged as numbers on a clock dial. Cute presentation. The hummus probably wasn't as thick or quite as tasty as at Hummus Place in Manhattan, but then, Hummus Place doesn't have any veggies on the menu to mix in, so it's probably a fair tradeoff and one that you might not even notice making. Both dishes came with plenty of unlimited pita, which was hot and good and the perfect accompaniment for the meals. When the food arrived, the waiter asked if either of us would like couscous. I accepted, while my friend declined. It, too, was good, and there was no charge for it. There was also no charge for repeated refills of Diet Coke, which was very much appreciated. Our bill was $57 for two, with no alcohol and no dessert. The bathrooms are sort of an adventure to get to; you have to go through the back of the restaurant and then a little ways more before you come to them. But they are clean, undoubtedly a good sign for the cleanliness of the restaurant's kitchen. I felt good that I was eating a meal that was healthful and tasty for a price that wasn't any more than I would have paid in Manhattan. I'd like to go back and try some of the other vegetarian dishes. read more

There were two Turkish spots that came up when we searched for it in my area. Both had great reviews but this place appeared to be the underdog so we wanted to give them a shot. We found parking very easily and were able to walk in and get seated promptly. The place was relatively empty for a Friday night. The decor here was pretty plain but there's nothing wrong with that. We skipped the appetizers and went straight to the entrees. Doner plate with bulgar was nice but the baby lamb chops left a bit to be desired. All said and done its a solid place to have Turkish food. read more

Great food. We ordered the mixed platter as our entree and the zuchinni pancakes for apps. Both were tasty, and my husband and I enjoyed it. The service was quick and efficient. Our waiter was kind and attentive even though it was Valentine's evening and the restaurant was bustling. The biggest downside was that a bus boy came over to clear dishes and banged my husband's Manhattan and spilled a great deal of the drink. He did not seem apologetic and instead cleared the dishes and walked away. The drink was splashed over the table and we weren't at the least offered a clean place setting. We had to ask the same bus boy, who then asked the waiter to clean it up after about 10 minutes. Other than that, the food was yummy and we enjoyed our night. read more

I have been eating here for over 10 years, since their first location on Mamaroneck Avenue. My family is on a first name basis with the owner, who is one of the nicest and warmest people as other reviewers have said. Ambiance is kind of like an upscale Hookah lounge...low tables and lots of colors. My mom's family is Turkish, so I've had a lot of Turkish food and this really is some of the very best! Their salads are always fresh, chicken Adana always moist, and babaganoush is delicious. If you like dolmas (grape leaves), they are the best here!!! Try some baklava or souvlak for dessert. I've only been here once when driving to LGA and our party only tried chicken and lamb dishes. That said, the food was good. The hummus was a bit bland, but that is more personal taste. The shawarma was decent, more like gyro lamb meat with minimal seasoning. I tend to like chicken better. The moussaka was very tasty, as was the chicken Adana. My main issue was the "hot sauce" was not hot. The decor is really nice and the owner talked with us numerous times while we were there. We've eaten at Turquoise a few times, but there had been a hiatus of a couple of years since the last time. Generally, in the past I believed it performed well above expectations. Simple, delicious, authentic Turkish food. Between the last time we were there and this evening, something happened -- something bad. This is a restaurant that has cratered. The food has become really disappointing. One can only conclude that the people in the kitchen are not Turkish. And don't know how to cook Turkish food. And have never tasted Turkish food. It's my first time to try Turkish meals. But that first time is really great. I came here with my friends and i was amazed with the ambiance. :)The crews and waiters are very friendly. The servings of the food are so awesome. It taste good also. For appetizer, I tried the grilled calamari! Best calamari ever! It's well cooked and it was very tasty! I m spoiled with Turkish in the city and Brooklyn i guess which makes this place look bad. The mixed appetizer which is my favorite bites of everything was nothing special and the presentation wasnt there. You expect the service in Turkish places to be okay but here there was hardly any service...the waitress said that they didnt expect a crowd so the owner had to help which was nice but i feel like everything was late and the the atmosphere wasnt turkish at all. I am late writing this review as I was there on July 15. I had called and made reservations. When we arrived the Manager (or owner, I am not sure) was extra friendly as if I was a guest that is always there. The 2 friends I was with asked me I go there often. It was only the second time. I had been there 4 years ago for a quick drink. We sat outside and it was an awesome time. A bus knocked the umbrella and almost gave me a scare but still it didn't damp the fun we had. Everything was delicious. We had the saffron shrimp appetizer ( I don't eat shrimp but was told it was delicious), the zucchini pancakes (we ordered it again as an entree because we liked so much). We had the fish and lamb with rice and spinach. Every single dish was delicious, including the warm pita that was brought to the table at the beginning. For drinks we had cocktails and wine, and all was as expected. We will definitely return and tell friends about it!! read more

Great atmosphere with some traditional turkish lighting, host was very friendly. Falafels and Cucumber kofte were impressive. Chicken Kebab platter was pretty good, but I still think Turkish Meze in Mamaroneck is some of the best Turkish food I've had(and I've been to Turkey). Turqouise has been my home away from home for over 12 years. I eat out almost every day with clients and colleagues, but there is nowhere I feel more at home and welcome than at Turquoise. I grew up on middle eastern food, and choose it above all else no matter where my travels take me, but no where do I enjoy a meal more than here. Sorry, not a fan. Bad start when you order the Sea Bass and are told they only have Salmon and I think it was Branzino... when they have about 10 fish dishes on the menu. Don't put items on the menu that you are not going to offer daily! Mushy kind of falafels with no flavor and didn't seem fresh. Grilled octopus that somehow was also mushy with a strange texture that I've never had in a grilled octopus. My friend had the cold meze platter, which she did enjoy most of, so that's why they get the 2 stars. Un-bookmarking. read more

Great location on Palmer Avenue with outdoor seating - great ambience for a date but also family friendly. The food was amazing! Turquoise is one of our favorite local restaurants. I had my usual Turquoise Chicken. Perfectly tender grilled chicken over a bed of creamy hummus. Delicious! Always have trouble deciding between that and the Falafel. My husband tried the Seafood Couscous for the first time. Excellent light sauce cooked to perfection. ok ... so i had reservations at turkish meze in mamaroneck but we went here instead because the decor looks so pretty that i thought it might be a bit more fun. When you walk in - to the right is the bar lounge area which is very cool looking. We didnt spend anytime there (unfortunately) because we went right into eat. We were approached quickly... I will say that the drink menu is very good. We all had dfferent martinis (even the husbands) and enjoyed. The bartender who is a really cool guy brought over the drinks himself. The second round he made "special" for us- they were extra tasty and not weak! Thats my kind of drink! The platter of dips was tasty and we asked for extra pita like 4 times:) The service was friendly- fast without making you feel rushed in anyway. The food was good- light fair. Everyone enjoyed their lamb and chicken dishes. No complaints. I will say I dont know if turkish food is just not as tasty as greek food but nothing I ate made me salivate. Pricey entrees but so delicious and the servings are generous. I had the seafood couscous which was plated beautifully and topped with a delicious tomato-based broth. The seafood tasted fresh and was cooked just right and like I said--they weren't stingy. My fiance had the lamb chops. They didn't stay long on the plate but I did manage to get a bite and thought they were marinated/seasoned just right. They were served with a char-grilled pepper and tomato, the perfect touch. Falafel and soup tasted like somebody's grandma made it. The drinks were yummy and strong. My favorite part, I think, was the atmosphere. On a Monday it was almost completely empty and my fiance and I were able to literally curl up in the lounge area and gaze up at the latern chandelier.
