This spot has shawarma, kebabs, hummus, tabouleh, meat and vegetable pies, tons of fresh salads (some vegetarian, some with meat), falafel, gyro, and more. We had: The chicken kebab--huge, juicy pieces of chicken full of fragrant spice. It comes with a side of your choice--I had the grilled zucchini, which was just the right level of firm and well seasoned. The shawafel--something we've never seen before (and we eat a lot of this type of food). It's a wrap chocked full of shawarma and falafel. Crispy falafel, moist chicken, tons of spice and fresh veggies. My husband loved it. We also got their spicy hummus with jalapeño and cilantro. It was good, but wasn't as spicy or flavorful as I thought it would be. We got the fried cauliflower with tomato and garlic. It wasn't heavy or greasy and they veggies really brightened it up. Delish. We also had their bread pudding and kunafah. The bread pudding was silky and creamy inside with a mild crisp on the outside. The kunafah is a Palestinian cheese pastry in syrup, so a little sweet and a little savory. Great spot with an expensive menu. Will definitely try more from them. read more

We happened upon this place after a midday movie and it was perfect. It was freezing outside and nice and warm within. The decor is fun and the ceiling a treat for the eye. The tea was hot, the service was quick and the food was good. I've never had such fluffy falafel. The split pea soup had big chunks of fresh veggies which was lovely. My husband had lamb with was juicy and delicious. The bread looked homemade too. If I lived anywhere nearby I'd definitely be back again! read more

Food is amazing. Very flavorful and at least our dishes were not spicy. My kids 7, 5 y/o had the lamb kabob and ate it all. Not spicy. They even ate half of my lamb! It was that good. Brought my wife here for a simple birthday dinner and I ordered the mix dish and, what she ordered escaped me right now lol. What I can say is, both our orders were fresh & excellent. Went here with my husband and toddler, food was well seasoned and large portions, very impressed with the 3 pieces of lamb kabob that came with my meal. Also ordered the veggie mousaka/halloumi and zucchini pancakes that were very yummy. The owner and waiters were so nice and accommodating!! It's been some years since I last ate in this restaurant on the Ave, but after the fantastic dinner I just had, I will have to put it back in the rotation. The menu here is ambitious, boasting an unusually diverse blend of Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, North African, and decidedly "Jewish" fare (see potato pancakes, made with matzo meal and served with applesauce) and yet they somehow manage to pull it all off -- fusion at its best. We ordered several dishes -- free delivery through Grubhub -- and would be hard pressed to say which was our favorite. Some highlights: fattoush salad, foul mudammas, and tabouleh. The most remarkable bite though was the latke -- seriously special, one of the best latkes I've ever eaten. Just try it and thank me later. Hummus was not the best I've had in the area but still very good, and they had a lot of different flavors which I'd be excited to try. Kebabs were tasty and portions were generous, sized to share. Even the rice that came on the side was flavorful and memorable -- almost like a biryani. The food came quickly and traveled extremely well, despite dishes being dressed and fried. The whole meal was like eating delicious home cooking, but from several different homes in several different countries. Dinner for three with plenty of leftovers was 60-70 total, which is really reasonable given the quality and quantity of food. A real treat! Hash-O-Nash, is off-the-beaten-path and one of the few- if not the only Middle Eastern restaurant you'll find in these neck of the woods between White Plains and Mamaroneck. Kind of picky falafel and feel not all falafel taste the same. So I use an old NYC, Egyptian spot as my base test, Hash-O-Nash didn't give off a truly classic, falafel taste, that I've grown to love. As I was told all their dishes are prepared from scratch and menu offers a wide selection of traditional Middle Eastern foods, beverages and sweets. Prices are very affordable, considering the location. Service was hospitable, even though it was for my grab and go. It'll be a nice return. read more

This place has fallen a long way since my first review in 2013. The first few times we stopped in, Hash and Nash was pretty good, and we were genuinely interested to try more of their dishes based on the diverse menu and quality meals we had. Our final 2 or 3 visits however...sheer failure. We recently stopped in and got the chicken shish kebab, lamb burger, fries, rice, salads, falafel, soup, and hummus for our party to share. We were 1 of 2 tables in the place, so we expected to be served in short order. Unfortunately, except for the soup, we waited nearly 40 minutes to get our food and it wasn't even remotely worth the wait. Almost everything we were served was horrible quality, even disgusting. I heard their in house microwave doing a lot of beeping in the back as they got everything ready. I can only assume that they were reheating everything which is really disappointing. Who the hell wants microwaved Middle Eastern food when you are expecting fresh meat off the grill? I can't even begin to tell you how disappointed I was to bite into those rubbery chicken kebab pieces. It was terrible. Same for the lamb. Cooked to death. The non meat dishes were equally bad; the falafel was stale, the rice was oversalted, and the fries were a combination of burnt to a crisp and underdone. Just awful all around. We left at least 75% of the food on our table and the waiter didn't even care to ask how our meal was or if there was a problem when giving us the check. Actually, that leads me to the service which was amongst the worst that I have ever had in the Westchester area. The staff as a whole seemed disinterested, lackadaisical, and aloof. Our waiter was largely MIA the entire time, and when we did see him, he put out the vibe that he didn't want to be there or deal with us. Any time we needed something, a drink, a napkin, etc, there was nobody to be found. After getting up to find him a few times, we realized that the 3 or 4 workers who were on the job were constantly congregating in the far corner of the kitchen. For what reason, I have no idea. But I couldn't help to think; shouldn't you guys be going out of your way to give good service to the 2 full tables you have? The restaurant was 90% empty on a Thursday at peak dinner time. Maybe crappy service coupled with the disgusting microwaved food isn't the way to keep people coming back. I certainly won't be heading back here any time soon. One star and they don't even deserve that. read more

My husband, brother and I had an early dinner here yesterday. I had no previous knowledge of the eatery; we were here for an exhibition at the art gallery. I've been here a few times and have enjoyed every meal I've had. The stand out dish was the vegetable couscous! On top of the plentiful veggies in the dish, it comes with two other veggies on the side. I highly recommend getting the salad, it's so fresh and delish! We tried their hummus and it was pretty good, wouldn't get it again as their other dips taste much better but it was pretty good. Wow, really delicious, fresh, tasty food. The Fattoush Salad is huge, (as is my friend George so that worked out well). The Hash O Nash Platter is outstanding. Not only do you get a large variety of different dishes, but everything is great. The lamb, chicken and beef were well seasoned and juicy, falafels fresh and eggplant tender and tasty. One of the worst experiences I ever had living here in Westchester county. First of all, I want to say that this place was highly recommended. I've been to many Arabic cuisine's tri-state and this was by far top 10 worst on one of my list of the worst foods in Westchester County. It was four of us that went just recently on Friday to have what we thought was going to be authentic Arabic food. The waiter was a weirdo! Not only was he a weirdo but very rude! We made the order specifically CLEAR, because we are Arabs and we know the food! We asked for appetizers and our entrées. One of the dishes that we ordered was Incorrect. Ok, no problem. I gave you the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was miscommunication. But YOU were very rude and unprofessional. This waiter seemed very annoyed by it, but I told him to not worry about it. To return it back, and that I would pay for both dishes. After he returns the dish back to the kitchen, I'm assuming that somebody bitch-slapped him, because he returns to the table with a horrible attitude. He literally lashed out at us! Accusing us that we ordered the wrong thing! NOT OUR FAULT! And HOW DARE YOU?!? YOU DO NOT KNOW US! It's your job to take orders and repeat them to make certain that you got it right you idiot! Let me tell you something you moron. You were addressing four persons that understand the culture, because some of us are from different parts of the Middle East and we knew exactly what we ordered. Just wow! I had gone there years ago but went today and was very pleasantly surprised by how nicely they did up the interior. With black table cloths and Moroccan lamps and other decorative items, with wooden walls, it really has been significantly upgraded, but that was just the starter. My tongue is still dancing from the Lebanese dumplings and Toum (garlic and yoghurt dip). Finally found a decent place for gyro, shawarma and other middle eastern favorites for lunch near the office. Decent prices also for lunch, chicken shawarma sandwich for $6 and sandwich platters (w/ fries & salad) for $10.95. Their menu is HUGE and I'm going to have to try the kafta and other kabobs off the real charcoal grill next time. I spot Moroccan, Greek, Lebanese, Armenian, Jordanian and even Israeli dishes. A real tour of the Meditarrenean. There's even Hungarian beef goulash?!? The name of the place really is a Hash (though not for smoking) and the O'Nash part makes you think Irish (but they do have corned beef on the menu). It'll take time, but I'll have to try everything before I can pronounce everything is good, but what I've had so far is worth going back. read more

Camel shrimp is so good that I will routinely drive down to have the same dish with the best hummus I've ever had. The shrimp are jumbo, the portion size is excellent but the sauce is what brings me back. Family owned...with everything prepared to order. Chef owner always says hello from open kitchen. We came to this place one random night, and we were impressed. The wings were very good. We love wings. I think my bf had the lamb shawarma and really enjoyed it. The service was cool, nothing special, Regular stuff. Masks on, clean tables, toilet flusher is a wrench (possible violation?) but I kinda liked the weird decor. Anyway, we come back a few nights later craving those wings! So we get seated, same waiter same vibe. On this day, the wings weren't as magical. Maybe a bit soggy or less flavor? My bf orders a chicken shawarma this time I believe. While eating, he finds a nice long hair in his food. One of the things we find most disgusting, as most would! We brought this to the attention of our waiter and he didn't really give attention to it. My bf had to ask for a new one as opposed to the waiter offering. The waiter agreed to getting a new one but states that it's not under his control because the women in the kitchen don't wear hairnets BECAUSE IT'S TOO HOT INSIDE!!! Wtf?! We couldn't believe he casually shared that information. Is that a violation? So, while we're waiting for a new one, a woman from the restaurant comes out and obviously stares at us and then goes back inside.. odd. The waiter comes out with the new plate, and you can literally tell that it was the same exact meat placed on a different plate. We brought this to his attention and the waiter fought it at first, saying they definitely made a whole new plate. When we brought up the woman that stared at us, the waiter laughed and said "what? That lady works in the kitchen. She doesn't even understand English because she only speaks Spanish so she doesn't know what was talked about in the kitchen". Disbelief at what he said- We continued to argue that a new plate wasn't made and that it was the same meat. And finally the waiter admitted that it in fact was the same meat and all they did was re-plate it. At this point we were completely over it and asked for the check. In most cases, restaurants take the lead and say they'll remove the item from the bill, but we had to ask. We could've MAYBE moved past the hair in food thing, but the lack of professionalism and the carelessness is what will keep us away. This place is always empty- there's no reason they should act as if they don't need us and they're meeting a daily quota, because I guarantee you they're not. Oh, our first night here we witnessed a couple with their two kids arguing with the same waiter. Apparently the last time they were there they paid in cash and the waiter never brought them their change. The couple called him out on it and whatever other mistake he made this time and told him they wouldn't be coming back. My bf and I thought the couple was being rude at first, but after our second experience, we realized it's not us- it's the restaurant! So, we too ended our visit by stating we'd never be returning as well. read more

Went in on Saturday evening for our wedding anniversary. Great layout and very friendly staff. My husband and I were the only people in the place which I didnt mind and were seated in the corner which made it feel so cozy. Firstly, to call this restaurant "Lebanese" it's a complete insult to Lebanese authentic cuisine. Food it's disgustingly over seasoned and more of a Indian/south Asian taste than Mediterranean. Got the hash o Nash platter ( $28) and it was absolutely embarrassing to tell my friend it only brought ONE grape leaf . Had to throw food out right away because it started smelling horribly, I'm still in disbelief that there are restaurants out there giving Lebanese cuisine a bad name. Poor resemblance to Mediterranean food... cooked food for this place means grape leaves right from the can and warmed up... the gyro must have been at least a week old. Antithesis of Mediterranean food , which has to be fresh and cooked well. And Smashburger may have a better GREEK salad! read more
