The two times I've been in, they've brought out samples of thier menu items to try. I've ordered various things on the menu: hummus, lebneh, falafel wraps, falafel platters, baked kibbe platters, the green bean side, etc. All have been amongst the best Lebanese food I've tried. I want to expand and try more things, like the chicken and beef kafta. If you have questions just ask. Certain platters come with different items. Some rice, some salad, etc. Thier pita is fresh and delicious, and comes in different sizes. They have a decent sized dining area for dine-in, and the take-out area is right as you walk in the side door. Here you will also find a grocery area with Lebanese essentials. The selection is sizable, and offers items you won't find in a regular grocery store. I stocked up on spices, and coffee. Prices are reasonable, and portions are generous. I will return every opportunity I get.

They used to use a flour wrap which I think they changed to something akin to cardboard. The scwafel wrap was also very dry. The seating area is small but the workers are very nice and keep it relatively clean. Prices have crept up, as they have everywhere. Given the decline in taste and quality and increase in price, I cannot justify going back to Layla's. The end of an era. I wish they would bring the previous owners/or at least teach the new crew how to make a proper kebab.

This food tasted nothing like the food my Sittu (Lebanese for grandmother) or my aunts made... or even my mom, who learned to cook Lebanese food from my Sittu and from her sisters-in-law. The "Lebanese" food was very disappointing. Get a Lebanese chef and stop getting good reviews because of your French fries, for goodness sake! You're making Lebanese food look bad! STOP IT!

The refrigerated display case this time was packed with Lebanese edibles, but I showed a modicum or restraint by only ordering 4 spinach and feta fatayers (pies). What I had forgotten was how large these were so my wife and I ended up having them for lunch twice at an all-in cost of $5.60 which (grabs calculator) works out to be $1.40 per fatayer. Though flavorful, it might be a few more years before I return, then again, maybe it will be sooner so I can try something different - I will let you know. :)

So delicious, I am a person of many falafel's as I make it apart of my journey to find the best falafel out there weather if that's in Helsinki Finland or right here in Connecticut. As always I get a side of hummus with my falafel and I found it absolutely delightful, so flavorful, crisp and made with love. It felt like I was apart of a family that encompasses this restaurant. I even asked to meet the chef and they introduced me to Chef Bala. He made an unforgettable haleem that truly tasted like the original Hyderabadi Nizami haleem. I asked him how he made it and he told me he's from Hyderabad and does this work with passion not just for money. You could really feel that in the food. The prices were surprisingly affordable but the food was high-end. The quality, the people, the taste everything was superb. Honestly, this was one of my best experiences in years. I'm definitely coming back again, at least for the haleem! Their biryani was also incredibly flavorful it felt like I was eating back home in Hyderabad, India. You guys are number one! Please maintain the same quality and standards you're well on your way to being the best in North America. I was in Norwalk, Connecticut for three days and I wholeheartedly enjoyed your food.
