The staff were personable, friendly, and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations that made the experience even better. You can tell there's a lot of pride and care in both the food and the service. If the rumors about them closing are true, I'm genuinely bummed I didn't discover this place sooner. I came in for lunch today. The restaurant is cozy and service is friendly. Not only is the food very good, but it is a great value. I had the number 4 combo which had falafel, hummus, tabouli and stuffed grape leaves. All of that was less than $13! I don't think you will find a better tasting deal out there. The falafel was not hard like some falafel can get and the hummus was thick and creamy. The tabouli was fresh and the grape leaves had a nice lemon accent to the flavor. Discovered Hanna's one day through the amazing doordash during a "hangry"/middle eastern food craving while stuck at work. I absolutely loved it then but I loved it even more NOW when going physically to the market side of Hanna's. John and the team were absolutely amazing and helpful. Love that you can walk into the little market side and pick up local flavors like hummus, baba ghanoush, bread, spices, grape leaves, anything and everything really! You can also do pickup, takeout or even dine in right next door. Did a big order of falafel, grape leaves, baba ghanoush (the S M O K E Y ness hereeeeeee!) and some other little sides for a little dinner with friends and we were all amazed and in love with everything. I feel everytime I come here, I'm dining in someone's home and they're feeding me incredible food. On the weekends, Lena is usually the hostess and she makes you feel right at home. My go to is the lamb chops (pictured). Another of my options is the branzini. My wife will get a vegetarian dish of her choosing, and there have been many over the years. Wow! What a find! This unassuming strip-mall restaurant was amazingly good. Huge menu, great soups and the usual Middle Eastern classic dishes.... Many also sold in Hanna's market next door. I went to Hanna's for the first time last night and had an amazing experience. Lina greeted my party as we walked in and had us sat in seconds. She gave us ample amount of time to peruse the menu before asking if we had questions. She knew it was our first time so she gave recommendations and even showed us the "right" way to eat the falafel appetizer (it was so good I forgot to take a picture and next thing I knew, the food was gone). I got the mixed grill entree and I was extremely impressed! The chicken was juicy, the lamb melted like butter in my mouth, and the spices in the kafta were perfect. If you like garlic, ask for the whipped garlic....my mouth is watering just thinking about it. One of my coworkers ordered from here because she likes trying different places to eat. I decided to get an order. It was my first time also, and I loved it. They have a large selection, and everything looks and sounds good. I had a hard time choosing what to get. I ended up getting Naan bread, grilled chicken, tomatoes, onions, and tzatzaki sauce. I was greeted by Mr. Hannah, who guided me through their well thought out menu. This restaurant caters to Lebanese food and they easily handled my Celiac (gluten-free) diet. Service and food is excellent.

Basically everything I have had off their menu was prepared well. Felt like it was fresh made with fresh ingredients, nothing imitation or processed here!! The Hanna Salad is awesome , tabouleh is one of the best I have had. The Chicken Tawook is unique and delish as are their falafel! Speaking of falafel, theirs is the perfect combination of crisp not overly crunchy and soft inside packed with flavor. They have a market with refrigerated and shelved goods and some specialty middle eastern bakery items. Try the labne spread on toast! I am so happy I was told about Hanna's as it is a gem. Oh yeah if I want tahini I would go there it is the best. Any other pales in comparison. One of the only things I have not had is Mousakaa entrée because it is different to the Greek version and I am very partial to the Greek variation. But I will eventually give it a try and am sure it will be delicious. The first think my husband had when I picked up dinner after work a while ago was the Chicken Tawook with lettuce and tomato sandwich and he was sold. Now it's on our take out list in the #2 spot. Be prepared to feast if you get a dinner entrée and do not hesitate to try the mezzas, sides, and desserts. read more

Talk about a return to some of the best Lebanese food in Connecticut! Hanna's Middle Eastern Restaurant at 72 Lake Ave in Danbury was our restaurant of choice tonight and we were extremely happy with their delicious food. As some of you might know, one of us Old Chick's is Lebanese and Hanna's has always been our go-to for Lebanese recipe ingredients on the store side. But the restaurant side! Wow! We ordered the Mezza with 12 different and delightful plates including Spinach pies, Kibbee, Mousakaa, Hommous, Grape leaves, Baba ghanoush, Syrian cheese and olives, Stuffed Cabbage Rolls, Falafel, Taboulie, Moujadara, and Labne. There was so much food, I thought I was at my Sittoo's (grandmother's) again! Our mother's would have been proud to know there is a Lebanese restaurant that is so authentic to the foods she grew up on, the same way she cooked them, and the way she taught her children. The Mousakaa, which is an eggplant based dish, was perfectly simmered in a tomato sauce with the most delicious flavors cooked into it. The Spinach Pies were stuffed to the brim with a slight hint of lemon and onion and One Old Chick said she could eat them all day because the bread dough was outstanding. The Kibbee, which is made from lamb, was tender, perfectly formed, and had pine nuts to add to the flavor. And the hommous was better than anything you can ever buy at the store, which we would never do anyway. The Vegetarian Grape Leaves were stuffed with rice, chick peas, tomatoes and onions. I think John (the owner) has his own garden because the eggplant in the baba ghanoush tasted like it was freshly made with a slight hint of garlic. The Stuffed Cabbage Rolls are perfectly sized with lamb, rice and garlic and a smidgeon of lemon. Delicious. The Falafel was fresh and tender, and a vegetarian's dream of a great dish. Sometimes we save the best for last, and one of them was the Moujadara, a lentil dish with rice and Lebanese seasonings, topped with fried onions. OMG! But then, folks, came dessert. And if you want the most delicious desserts this side of Lebanon, you better head over to Hanna's. The baklawa melted in your mouth and the Knafe (pronounced "Kanafee") which is a warm cheese pastry soaked in a sugar based syrup is enough to send your senses into heaven. We are so glad we went early before the tables were all filled! We were so impressed with the food at Hanna's we decided that it's time we visit Lebanon next year. It's no wonder they were voted Best of the Best Restaurants by Connecticut Magazine! read more
