Good Turkish food at a very high price point On the hunt for some unique places to try. We happened to be in this area for soccer and found this highly rated gem. So why not go try some Turkish fare? Place is small. Pretty much in an urban shopping district with lots of shops crammed together. This specific place was being a Valero gas station. If you're not looking for it, then you can easily miss it. The place is small, and it's clear they retrofitted a dining space. But they wear their country and soccer pride all over their space. We ordered the dumplings, the mixed grill, and cold app sampler. We also get two baklava to try while we wait. Food takes a little bit to come out, but there was soccer on the TV so plenty to distract. Best bites would be the dorma and the kefte. Seasoned well, cooked well, juicy, meaty, and plentiful. Their bread was also baked fresh and warm with a crusty exterior and a soft and chewy interior. Most of the bites were good but not to our pallet. The dumplings were mostly dough though the filling was good, the chicken was lightly seasoned, the entire cold app sampler was good consistency but nothing wowed us. The tea and coffee were okay. Coffee was strong and the tea was mellow. Small but decent quality. Biggest issue was the price. Everything came out to 80 dollars, which is a bit high for what we got. As an experience I can justify the price, but it's still a lot. Since my experience with Turkish fare is limited, I can only really compare it to other kebabs I have had. In which case it's similar but lacking spice. Given the price, it's good to try and I feel it's a good representation of Turkish food. Not to my taste, pricy, but not bad read more

Excellent place! I highly recommend this place. It's on the back of a gas station, but you don't smell gas or car smoke. It's very clean. There are families and groups of women dining so friendly and comfortable place. Bathroom was clean. They're very popular for take out, but there is a great seating area. I ordered the calf liver. This is my first time being to a Turkish restaurant. This place is a hole in the wall. It is located in the Valero gas station complex and had a tiny dine in area. It clearly looked like their takeouts and catering were the way to go. We got the cold appetizer with bread and lamb shank for entree. It was by far the best Mediterranean food I had. read more

They used to barely have seating, but have in recent years added an tented outdoor seating area which is cute. I've only dined in a couple times, but do takeout multiple times per month. The chicken shish wrap and chicken shish platter are my go-to's, delicious! Depending on the day, the wrap can either be really large or really thin, but the flavor is very consistent. Prices have also increase like crazy, a wrap used to be $10, but now is closer to $15!! Service can be slow, like 25 mins to make a wrap, but it is also because they make everything fresh made to order so can't really complain. They are also closed on Wednesday's, I believe, so check to make sure they're open before you go. Definitely an amazing hole-in-the-wall gem in Bridgeport! read more

This place is honestly a hidden gem of a restaurant; located in Bridgeport with a shared parking lot to a gas station, so the location is a little odd- but trust me their food is bomb!! Excellent grilled meats (I highly recommend getting the mixed grill plate!!), delicious rice, yummy french fries, small side salad, and of course delicious lamb/chicken/whatever meat they have in a shawarma style wrap. Love their cucumber yogurt sauce (similar to tzatziki, but different bc it's a Turkish restaurant. It's called Cacik). Good service. Nice staff. Small restaurant space for eating in, but you can eat there in a party of 4 or less. Their take out is always good, delicious and fresh. Ooh! Also they have delicious baklava too! I've been here a few years ago and decided to return for lunch. The location is odd and the restaurant is a bit run down but I remember the food was good. This time we ordered 2 apps. Stuffed eggplant and Falafel. They were ok but I wouldn't order again. The Falafels were tiny and the eggplant was a cold app which was fine but it had a bunch of oil under it. The bread and lentil soup were good. For my entree I ordered the Churrasco which was delicious. The steak has great flavor. Their rice and French fries are so so yummy. Definitely the best Turkish food you'll find in the back of a gas station! Don't let the location fool you, they are pumping out (pun intended) fantastic food that is a great value. I stop by here any chance I get. I've gotten the pita and the mixed plates too and everything has been great. Even my wife who isn't quite as adventurous for dining out really liked it. As I eat today, I eat in memory of Anthony Bourdain, who took his life yesterday. I am in Connecticut today and after running some errands, I decided to look for food. I think Bourdain would have approved. This is a Turkish restaurant attached to the back of a Valero gas station. There is an area for seating - a rather tacked on patio with awnings to cover the area. Today, the weather was pleasant and so it was nice to be seated. I ordered an eggplant appetizer: Eggplant Sauce. It was served with Turkish bread and the eggplant was so delicious when scooped up with the bread. It was the highlight of my meal and I would return for this dish alone. I should have just added a salad and stopped there. BUT, I ordered the lamb chops - as I always want to compare to my favorites from Natasha's in St Louis. They did not measure up. There were 4 chops. Half were over cooked, while the other two were cooked ok. It was also their seasoning that left me underwhelmed - pretty bland and not even the char flavor from grilling. The rice and salad were on point and I enjoyed them very much. I am unsure why they chose to cover the food with a flour tortilla rather than pita or that delicious bread, but the tortilla did not work for me. The salt yogurt drink enhanced the meal. I think Tony Bourdain would have been proud of this restaurant and the food they serve in this location. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area. If you've never had Turkish food before, be adventurous. Give it a try. Expand your horizons and enjoy. read more

The first time we went as a big group of 7, 5 adults, 2 kids, I got the lamb adana (seasoned ground lamb skewers entree), and it was good. The waitress is a bit pushy. She wants us to order the larger appetizers, which is more expensive. Offered no water, so we all have to order something to drink or drink from our own bottle. I had a good time because my friends have been staying in Turkey before, so that made the experience better. However, 2nd time with my husband is a total fail, he got the shawarma entree, and the meat portion is small and they didn't give him any sauce. I got the falafel entree, and they are tiny little ones... I have never seen such small falafel. When my husband asked for a glass of water, they took a bottle of water out and charged him. He did not ask for bottled water. I think they need to be more generous with their portion and be clear about the water situation. it is a sit-down place, and we didn't order take out. They should provide regular drinking water without charging. It's disappointing and will not return. we both got entree but left the place hungry. read more

Because we were so proud of the place and food. We took our friend and family there this summer one night. We were 6 people and unfortunately we were not small. We asked for a table right by the parking lot but were told to stay with a table so tight for us when all place looked empty. This place is the best! Not sure why it took is so long to come. We've had it bookmarked on Yelp for ages. Many thanks to a Yelper who said BYOB.
