Years ago we installed too few, too shallow…read more We were going to re-do them ourselves, but I thought it would be a treat for my hubby to pay a pro to do this so that he could focus on his other projects (total kitchen remodel simultaneously) I knew Jeff & hoped that trading pro skills would serve all of us nicely. I am filled with remorse that I pushed my fella to pay this company to work in our yard. Each day he came home from work & was immediately angry. The crew were not executing as discussed. Each day my fella felt obligated to become the "general" on this job, outlining concerns, expressing expectations, offering use of OUR lazer level to ensure this is done BETTER than we could have done ourselves. Each following day, instead of relief that we had gotten on the same page, he would find yet another disconnect between expectation/agreed to processes, & further fear that we had made a bad decision here. Jeff is a very nice man. He listens to your concerns. He tells you he will make it right, even if HE PERSONALLY has to come help. However that doesn't actually occur. In the end, after all the funds were spent, we ended up with SEVERAL ugly surface drains (where there used to be none), far less topsoil than agreed to, a hardpan that was never dug down deep enough, nor properly graded & ultimately the job failed... the yard was now WORSE than before SLS started. Add to this, our backyard never got proper topsoil depth, our sand pit was filled with borderline gravel NOT sand, & we did not get the drawings/map for our irrigation system as promised. We hoped that things would "settle" eventually, even waited several months to be sure of drainage failure before expressing upset & insisting on remedy. We were promised that would happen in spring. We waited and heard nothing about starting the job/remedy. At this point, devastated at having thrown huge money away (excess of 10k)& watching my husband's face as he accepted that we are in fact going to have to SPEND more, & do it over again, I went over Jeff's head to the owner. They were ONLY willing to offer SOME dirt, & seed. They would not bring their machines over. They would not refund. As you can imagine, my husband was NOT willing to have the crew come back & attempt to do the work correctly, there was no reason to believe it would go differently. Now, after literally taking a full week off from work, & spending literally over 5k MORE, my fella has the front yard corrected. He did EXACTLY what we asked for, agreed to, & paid for, but NEVER GOT. We have pics to document that this is all true, as well as receipts for all of this. We tried so hard to make this a mutually beneficial experience. We hoped so much to sing SLS praises & continue referring them going forward. Sadly, now I warn against them. I lost a friendly connection that I valued & lost clients DESPITE never dropping the ball on my end of the professional exchange. No Good Deed Goes Un-Punished :(

All Seasons Tree Service got rid of a major problem in my yard. I had an enormous maple tree cut…read moredown about 25 years ago, leaving about a 10 foot high stump. That stump had broken down to the point of splitting down the middle and was in danger of collapsing into my yard. All Seasons Tree Service came out and cut down the 20 foot maple growth that sprouted from the stump and removed the huge stump. All pieces of this project were fed into the chipping machine they brought and they raked and cleaned up everything before leaving. I was extremely pleased with their safety measures, cleanup, and fair price and will gladly hire them again.

The crew was hard-working, professional, and extremely thorough. The job was challenging because the trees were located right next to my house, fence, and greenhouse, but they handled it expertly, even using a crane to lift the trees safely over the house. Cleanup was excellent--you wouldn't know major tree work had just taken place. On top of that, one of my neighbors had a large pile of limbs from a previous storm, and the crew chipped it up for him at no charge, which was incredibly generous. I will definitely use Lefler Tree Service again and highly recommend them to anyone needing tree work done right.

When we setup an appointment, Shannon was late and went into our backyard without us home and left a note of a quote for skirting the trees when we asked for removal. I contacted him and cleared up the "misunderstanding". He came back since we still wanted our trees cut down and were willing to give him another chance. On the second appointment he was over 2 hours late again. Very Frustrating. When we worked out the details we signed papers and scheduled his team to come out. On Tuesday, the big day, no one showed up. I called Shannon. No answer. My husband called. No answer. So I called from my work, ANSWER! I asked for Shannon and he asked who it was and the reason I was calling. He then said it was him and apologized profusely and said one of his workers just flew and he forgot to tell me they were going to start the next day. I was ticked off, but agreed to move forward. Wednesday this team busted out all 7 trees. The team was amazing. Quite a few pieces of my fence broke and wasn't repaired. But the team themselves were hard working and a pleasure to have at my home. 3 small stumps were not grinded down and instead of writing it on the contract, Shannon just upped the price and we missed that while signing. He claims now that grinding those stumps was not in the contract, but he'll come out and do them. He hasn't contacted us since, won't answer our calls. Complete flake from the beginning. Signs were left for over a week in our neighbors yard and eventually they were picked up, but our stumps were left. My Tree Company beat out ever other offer, but you also get what you pay for. My trees are gone thank goodness, but I can't personally recommend this company. If you do use them make sure that contract says everything you verbally agreed on. Lesson Learned.

Paul is an ISA Certified Arborist and it's clear that he cares about his work --- in particular, maintaining the health of the trees. I asked him to do a lot of pruning and he suggested where it made sense and where it might hurt the trees. He wrote up a detailed work order for himself, gave me an estimate, arrived on time to do the work, and (very importantly) cleaned up well. That's all around great customer service! AND he was the low-bidder.
