While inspecting the rodent issue, they also discovered mold in our attic. Alex provided many photos to show us the issue clearly. Alex was very careful to explain the entire process at the start of it so that there were no surprises during the process. They ended up removing all the old, contaminated insulation, thoroughly sanitized the attic, replaced with new insulation and wire mesh around the entire perimeter where any openings might exist. They effectively excluded all rod ents or pests from the attic. Alex came back for a follow up inspection and verified the attic is now vacant. Quality Workmanship: Even our electrician, who went up after they finished to check to see if the rats had damaged any wiring, commented on how clean the attic was and what a great job they had done. Cleanliness: I was worried about dust and debris coming from the attic down into the living areas of the house, but they created a plastic barrier Between where they were working and the living areas that left our home spotless when they were done. I trusted their proposal -- and I regret it. After the job (9/27/2025), I measured insulation depth in multiple locations and found ~8 to 14.5 inches in many areas, uneven coverage, and no depth markers. I shared photos/measurements and asked them to bring the attic up to the promised R-49. Instead, they said the attic was larger than estimated and would only add insulation if I paid ~$1,472 + tax. I obtained a third-party correction bid for $2,917.20 to air-seal and bring the attic to R-49 with depth markers, indicating additional work is needed. Because they would not correct the insulation without extra payment, I withheld final payment while trying to resolve the issue in writing. After that, the situation escalated into a small-claims filing and a mechanic's lien (which I dispute). Regardless of how anyone views the dispute, the result was this: a homeowner raised a documented workmanship concern, asked for correction to what was promised, and ended up dealing with court + a lien. Bottom line: I do not consider this a reliable company and would not hire them again. If you're considering Attic Crawl, protect yourself.

I went up and checked before, during and post work and we are so pleased. We are now properly vented and have airflow, have all areas sealed, vent fans sealed correctly and enough insulation. It took only about an hour for the estimate, including the 1/2 hour the gentleman took to write it up and provide photos, work to be done and costs (in a color pamphlet!). He also reviewed what was found and what work should be done and why. We were really impressed. The actual work was scheduled week later and took 2 days (did not take an entire day each day). They were quick, clean, put up plastic barriers to protect the walls, house and floor. No leakage of any debris or old soiled insulation occurred. 10/10 would hire again. Note: they took care if the PSE rebates and were recommended by PSE.

The proposal itself already included a clause stating the work would be considered partial remediation with no warranty attached, so liability concerns had already been addressed in writing. Based on my experience, be very clear about scope and expectations before requesting a proposal from this company. They will scope creep on you.

Other quotes I received varied in pricing by double and wanted 50% upon signing then 40% day of installation leaving 10% at completion. Also changing the installation date was costly, some $500 just to change a date. WA Evergreen did not charge a fee to change a date, nothing down just pay when completed. Great communication by all involved. I'm very happy that I chose them.

I also found that he was the only one who wasn't "sales"-y in his approach. 2) Financing was an option with 0% interest if paying off in 18 months. 3) Was the most affordable out of all the bids. Don't get me wrong, the pricing was comparable, but this company won by a small margin in costs. 4) They provided the removal of items and trashing it into the costs. A particular company was going to charge an insane additional amount to do this. 5) The workers who came to do the work were all friendly, professional, clean and quick. They did the job of about 1500 sq. ft. of crawlspace in one day. 6) When we inspected the finished product the next day, we were happy and their work exceeded our expectations! No more crazy smell coming from the vents and everything down there has been sealed and re-insulated, so no vermin should be coming in. 7) Plus, they have a 1 year "Rodent protection plan" for someone to come every 3 months to monitor the rodent traps to ensure us that the rats are not coming in. So by these reasons, I highly recommend this company! I will update in a few months or a year to make sure we are completely "rodent-free" down there. Excellent job!

Preventitive traps have been set for the rodents. We've never had a problem with the carpenter ants or rodents - unlike our neighbors. About 2 or so times a year we do have an invasion of "sugar ants" that seem to come in through a kitchen window. Venabales comes out within a few days of my call, sprays outside and has left ant traps. Problem solved! They always call a few days before the scheduled service then the technician calls to letus know he's on his way. All in all, our investment is secure as possible from "invasions". We hired Capitol Duct because they were the only company we called that used a scope (camera) to…read moreexamine the ducts before cleaning. We should have gotten the ducts cleaned before installing an in-duct booster fan, but we didn't think of it, so we needed the cleaners to be extra careful with their rotating brushes in that area. They came out 3-2-26. We asked for photos of the fan. Did not receive them. We asked them not to use the fungicide but they did. Both requests were clearly typed right onto the Case Report. (Once we found out the type, we learned it wasn't as dangerous for sensitive people as we had thought.) The dryer vent was supposed to have a pre- and post-cleaning flow test per the Sales Order, but the results weren't reported. This cost a grand. I wasn't going to write a review at all until I saw what was on our filter only 9 weeks later. Today 5-9-26, we went to change the filter and found piles of crap on it... my husband threw it out before I could get a picture ... but this is some of it. I actually have an old ad that shows the prices charged for this kind of service 10 years ago... I used to get the ducts cleaned yearly back then. Now it is 20x more and far less dependable, obviously. Oh, and they tried to upsell us an Air Scrubber, too.

Pro's - Basic work seemed to be done well and at a price that was competitive with others I contacted at least for the basic service. - Communication was prompt. - After some re-scheduling on their part, the team did the work swiftly and efficiently. - Most of the terms were clear in advance, using Yelp Projects. Con's - This is a fairly shiesty corner of the home maintenance world. Many providers seem to give you a low-ball estimate to get in the door and then upsell significantly. - Envirosmart is not an exception. - The initial quote was $200. This included scoping the ducts and doing the negative pressure clean-out. - Onsite, they then upsold me to $670 for a more thorough brushing of the vents, sanitation, and some other ancillary services. - They were only modestly well-organized. They called the day-of to reschedule because of a conflict with internal training. They also confirmed a different time than I had originally scheduled. It was the difference of a 9 to 11am original window and a 2:30-3pm arrival. - The Yelp Project communication could have been clearer. They did not specify whether they were calling to quote me or coming to do the service! Amid all this and with some clarification and flexibility on our part, we worked it out. I would have appreciated either a discount or additional service for the delay. None was proffered. I did not go ahead with the upsell as I had already gotten quotes for less from other providers with somewhat more transparent pricing. I think the work they did appeared fine. See attached pics. Your guess is as good as mine which are before and which are after! They did not specify when they sent them to me and email took off the timestamp. I'm hoping the cleaner ones. I probably will try another service when I do this again and with a higher rated provider. All in all, though, I had low expectations and those low expectations were met.
