While inspecting the rodent issue, they also discovered mold in our attic. Alex provided many photos to show us the issue clearly. Alex was very careful to explain the entire process at the start of it so that there were no surprises during the process. They ended up removing all the old, contaminated insulation, thoroughly sanitized the attic, replaced with new insulation and wire mesh around the entire perimeter where any openings might exist. They effectively excluded all rod ents or pests from the attic. Alex came back for a follow up inspection and verified the attic is now vacant. Quality Workmanship: Even our electrician, who went up after they finished to check to see if the rats had damaged any wiring, commented on how clean the attic was and what a great job they had done. Cleanliness: I was worried about dust and debris coming from the attic down into the living areas of the house, but they created a plastic barrier Between where they were working and the living areas that left our home spotless when they were done. The crew was courteous and focused throughout the entire process. The price was very reasonable and fair. If you need attic services or pest remediation, my wife and I highly recommend them!

I went up and checked before, during and post work and we are so pleased. We are now properly vented and have airflow, have all areas sealed, vent fans sealed correctly and enough insulation. It took only about an hour for the estimate, including the 1/2 hour the gentleman took to write it up and provide photos, work to be done and costs (in a color pamphlet!). He also reviewed what was found and what work should be done and why. We were really impressed. The actual work was scheduled week later and took 2 days (did not take an entire day each day). They were quick, clean, put up plastic barriers to protect the walls, house and floor. No leakage of any debris or old soiled insulation occurred. 10/10 would hire again. Note: they took care if the PSE rebates and were recommended by PSE.

After the work, I discovered an unusual amount of dust accumulating in my house and tracked it down to the attic intake duct not being sealed and the new blow in cellulose insulation being sucked into my air system. I removed the blow in insulation to seal it and found all the shoddy work done by the Crawl Pros crew: unsealed ducts, horribly sloppy foam spray sealing, wrapped ducts with large gaps where insulation is missing, old rat droppings not cleaned up, sand from blasting not vacuumed, bent blow in depth gauge to mislead about actual insulation depth, old insulation re-used and buried, loose staples from a failed staple gun, and damaged hardwood floor near attic entrance. Whatever you do... look elsewhere for attic or basement work

Our primary reason for choosing Northwest Crawl Space Services was their ability to provide a comprehensive, one‑stop crawl space solution. They offer the full spectrum of crawl space restoration services and can also install a sump pump system. We also used their high‑quality rodent prevention services as part of the project. Among the companies AI recommended to me, Northwest Crawl Space Services stood out with exceptionally strong customer reviews. I also browsed through some customer reviews, including a long, thoughtful one written by an older gentleman. He wrote, "Lior was our lead person for questions and he made it easy to understand, going over everything--I mean everything!" Lior is also the blogger who wrote the educational articles and the detailed, highly informative work logs on the company's website. And as luck would have it, the company assigned Lior to do our estimate. Now we can say the same thing: everything became easier because Lior stepped in with such calm, steadiness, and responsibility. On the day of the estimate, Lior told us they would protect the laundry room and the garage, and that they would do their best to complete the project to a high standard--he even said they would make our crawl space "beautiful." Our only expectation for the crawl space was basic functionality. It is technically part of the house, but the last time I went inside was thirteen years ago. This time, however, when I entered the crawl space to take photos, I had to admit that their attention to detail was truly impressive. I'm posting a few photos here--this is only a small portion of what they accomplished. The quality of the work far exceeded anything we had imagined. Considering the hours they spent in that low, dark, cold, and damp environment only deepened our respect for their perseverance. During those two days, even though the work was physically demanding, we could still feel that they were genuinely happy. This speaks both to their inherently positive mindset and to the healthy, supportive workplace culture within the company. The office staff were equally enthusiastic and provided the same high level of friendly, professional service. NWCSS is a company you can truly trust. A few days later, on a sunny afternoon, I went back into the crawl space. What I saw made me finally understand what "beautiful" truly meant. I sat there quietly, watching the interplay of light and shadow between the new floor insulation and the new vapor barriers, with the new air ducts weaving through the space in graceful lines. In that moment, the present felt eternal. Lior delivered on everything he said he would do. Highly recommend!

They were friendly and professional, but a follow up inspection by another company later revealed that the work was substandard, and things that I'd paid for had not been done. About 14 months after the initial cleaning, an appliance repair company discovered a brush was lodged in the dryer duct. When I called Capitol to address the stuck brush, they denied responsibility for it. They gave excuses for why their air-hose method had not removed it, and were unwilling to do anything about it except charge me for another cleaning. Regardless of whether they left the brush there, it's clear their service did not remove it. In my view, a professional cleaning should have included removing any obstructions like this. It's pathetic that the appliance repair company discovered the probelm that the duct cleaning professionals had missed. I reluctantly made an appointment for another cleaning. The office representative said a manager would call me to discuss the situation. The manager never called. I waited for the technician, who never arrived. When I called to follow up, the office girl told me that she had canceled the appointment, which she did without notifying me. I made another appointment, again agreeing to pay for another cleaning. I sent them a photo of the brush stuck in the vent under the porch, along with details about the tight access (roughly 10 feet in with no crawlspace), and ask them to confirm that they could remove the brush at the agreed price. They did not reply to my email. When I called, the girl in the office assured me that she had seen the email and the photo, and that they could remove the brush for the quoted price. Great, but would it have killed them to acknowledge the email? After waiting two weeks for the appointment, the technicians arrived today--90 minutes early, when I was not ready for them. They had no idea they were there to remove a stuck brush. After wasting about 15 minutes of my time while I was supposed to be working, they determined they could not remove the brush. I told them I would be going with another company and asked them to leave. From start to finish, this company didn't do a single thing they said they were going to do. I don't intend to deal with them again.

They can charge up to 3% for credit cards. Nevertheless, the good folks are the office were very nice about reversing the double-charge. I am waiting to see when it comes through. Pro's - Basic work seemed to be done well and at a price that was competitive with others I contacted at least for the basic service. - Communication was prompt. - After some re-scheduling on their part, the team did the work swiftly and efficiently. - Most of the terms were clear in advance, using Yelp Projects. Con's - This is a fairly shiesty corner of the home maintenance world. Many providers seem to give you a low-ball estimate to get in the door and then upsell significantly. - Envirosmart is not an exception. - The initial quote was $200. This included scoping the ducts and doing the negative pressure clean-out. - Onsite, they then upsold me to $670 for a more thorough brushing of the vents, sanitation, and some other ancillary services. - They were only modestly well-organized. They called the day-of to reschedule because of a conflict with internal training. They also confirmed a different time than I had originally scheduled. It was the difference of a 9 to 11am original window and a 2:30-3pm arrival. - The Yelp Project communication could have been clearer. They did not specify whether they were calling to quote me or coming to do the service! Amid all this and with some clarification and flexibility on our part, we worked it out. I would have appreciated either a discount or additional service for the delay. None was proffered. I did not go ahead with the upsell as I had already gotten quotes for less from other providers with somewhat more transparent pricing. I think the work they did appeared fine. See attached pics. Your guess is as good as mine which are before and which are after! They did not specify when they sent them to me and email took off the timestamp. I'm hoping the cleaner ones. I probably will try another service when I do this again and with a higher rated provider. All in all, though, I had low expectations and those low expectations were met.
