Eibach front sway bar end link
    Dustin H.

The team at the Tuning Gruppe took their time to install sway bars on my M3P today. With my kind of luck, the front Eibach Sway Bar End Links decided to make plenty of clanking noise on my way home. I immediately turned around, and pulled back into the shop area. The guys were immediately open to investigating the issue, they did not turn me away which was very much appreciated. The crew isolated the issue and resolved the clanking (re-installed factory end link). This my friends, is a team that has your back. I do not expect perfection, but I do expect someone that listens, is professional & solution oriented. Well done guys. Thank you for actually caring about your work product, even if the product itself turns out not to be that great.

Run! They are horrible! I had to replace the Turbo in my Mini COOPER in December! after the install I took it to Mini of Tempe to have everything checked out. I had a small leak on the valve cover and ended up having to replace it. After words Mini gave me a clean bill of health and told me the turbo needed to be tuned and the ECU needed to be tuned. they recommended the Tuning Grupe. I took it to them and they said the valve cover needed replacing. I paid for that. then they said the new turbo was bad and it had to be replaced. They said they could not help me with getting a refund from their parts place because I did not get it from them. I told them to get a turbo they could tune and if they could not get it tuned. they promised me if they could not they would refund my money. They could not get it tuned. when they said it was good to go. I took a ride with the owner and it still lagged and was throwing codes. I took it back and told the I need it fixed so I can run it through admissions. they gave it back to me and I ran it through and failed. the reason why is because they took the monitoring off of almost everything. I then told them I had enough after talking to Mini COOPER of Tempe and the master mechanic at Mini of Scottsdale. They recommended me have the shop flash it back to factory and take it to a reputable shop. so that's what I did. The owner reassured me if they found any thing wrong they would reimburse me. Of course after the monitoring was turned back on there were all sorts of fault codes. Note: This was after dealing with them for six months. The new shop emediatly said there was something strange going on. He found that one of the pins on the ECU was bent. I called the Tuning Gupe and let Parker know what he found and to please let the owners know. he said no problem he would let them know. Then the mechanic found the the turbo they put in can not spool up enough to work properly and needed to be replace. I called the Tuning Grupe again but now I just get voice mail. I left a message stating that I need to set an appointment to talk with the owners. No call back. I called back again and got their answering machine right away. I know they were ignoring me. I left another message that I need to get a new ECU and Turbo and needed to get reembursed for what I paid them for the tuning and turbo install. Shocker, no call back. Bottom line stay away. Everytime I picked my car up from them it was not fixed. They broke parts on my car. They put it back together wrong, and almost every time I ether had to put something back together or fix something they broke. They lost all my documentation of the custom parts that were installed on my vehicle and my DMV test records. That brand new valve cover that had to be replace was never retuned so I could get my money back. Save yourself headaches. I would not let these guys tune my lawnmower.

I write this review with no anger or malice intended. Just the facts and the intention to save others from Tuning Gruppe. I am a medical student who started bringing my 2002 Mark IV 1.8T Jetta in to Tuning Gruppe in early 2014 when I moved here from Connecticut. I stopped bringing my car in May 2016. Every time I brought my car in the repairs were not completed, re-broke, or something new broke. I felt like I was cursed until I realized recently they must have been doing it on purpose or negligent, probably both, but I can't prove the sabotage. I have never had so many mechanical issues days AFTER bringing my car into any shop. Hands down the worse shop I have ever been to in my life and I am 51 years old. I checked the reviews from 2014 to 2016 and besides one, one-star review all the other nine reviews were five stars. It would seem that somehow they are stacking the reviews in their favor so if you are thinking of going to Tuning Gruppe based on the their reviews, I do not think the reviews are complete and accurate. Why did it take me 3 years to write this review? I needed to be sure and I just figured all shops here in The Sun Valley were full of idiots. Turns out I was partly right. Walmart Auto Center at Riverview is thick with incompetence. However, I found LeSueur Car Company and Berge Volkswagen. They both have, and I stress this, never returned my car with issues unfixed, re-broke days later, or something new broke. It's time someone made you aware of Eric and David's poor workmanship, poor organization, and possible scamming. I repaired all my cars for three decades. I'm a gear head who likes to heavily modify his rides and enjoys fixing cars. It gives me peace. This place never gave me peace. In all my years, never did things just break on my cars after taking them to a shop five out of six times I brought them in for repairs. Often simple jobs, like replacing the windshield reservoir-to-sprayers tubing, failed three times. My car is back in the shop twice. I had horrible squealing brake pads because they skipped the brake quiet product. My car is back in the shop. Little things mostly and being busy in school I dealt with it due to them being friendly and their reviews. Then I started to believe that these five star reviews were not complete and inaccurate. Next, I had the AC system redone for $857.00 and the car started overheating two weeks after I got it back. My car is back in the shop. They said I needed two new radiator fans. That was not a little thing at $321.00. The last straw was a serious screw up on their part which they denied. They replaced my clutch and offered a cheaper one-sided clutch plate. I heard lighter in weight, cheaper in price, and same exact functioning. It has been three years of "granny shifting" because I cannot shift quickly into second or third gear from the moment I drove it out of Tuning Gruppe. I have to let the engine drop to 1500 rpms at least when accelerating and shifting into second and third gear from a dead stop. It has ruined my love of acceleration in my moded out ride. They test drove it, said the stop synchro is gone, and I needed a new transmission. They completely denied any fault and a replacement to the OEM double-sided clutch plate unless I paid. Yet another "new" thing breaking after one of their repairs. I never went back and I should have taken them to small claims court over the repair it seems. They ruined my transmission. Other aggressive drivers almost hit me accelerating from a traffic light and honk at me now. It is a constant reminder of their incompetence, or at least I thought it was only incompetence until last week. I mentioned the whole "one-sided" clutch/stop synchro fiasco at Berge Volkswagen last week and the service guy listened to the whole story. When I mentioned the "one-sided" clutch plate he said, "That would do it to the transmission." According to the service department at Berge VW, Tuning Gruppe put an incompatible clutch plate in my car. Huh, they sabotaged me or through utter negligence put an incompatible clutch plate in my car and then tried to sell me a used transmission for $800.00. Looks like my car is going back into the shop again because of Tuning Gruppe. I hope if you are reading this and looking for an honest, top workmanship garage you go elsewhere. I love LeSueur Car Company and started going there after the clutch plate fiasco. I have had five repairs now over 3.5 years. Flawless work and I never had to bring it In to be fixed again because something went wrong. They specialize in German cars too. They love Volkswagens. Test drives always offered solo on their used cars. They pick you up and drop you off at home. Coffee with a smile. Hourly rates $90.00. Only draw back is that you cannot drop your car off after hours due to their security gates. I consider that a plus though. Proof of repairs attached

The crew here is amazingly great to work with. They are super honest and will go out of their way anytime to help out, and they have a wealth of knowledge to back it. I no longer live in the valley, but still make the trip back because they are the only ones who I want to touch my car, and have always done right by me. Also have very fair pricing for the very high level of work they do. If you are trying to figure out where to take your German car I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Nice group of people that work for Eric, they did good work on our A4 but not so good on our MK4. Did not go back.

I had an appointment at 9AM on November 4, 2016 and nobody was there. Waited 20 minutes and then left. Punctuality is obviously an issue.

I brought my Audi to Eric and David after getting some rather high estimates for repairs from Chandler Audi.

He was on time, professional, and clearly knew what he was doing. He explained everything in a way that made sense, didn't try to upsell anything unnecessary, and made sure the job was done right. My A/C is now blowing cold again like it should, and the car is running perfectly. You can tell he takes pride in his work and cares about doing a quality job. On top of that, the convenience of him coming to me saved a lot of time and hassle. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone looking for reliable and honest mobile mechanic work.

I am giving two stars because of the only positives: they scheduled my inspection within a few days…read moreof calling and Justin, the technician that arrived, was very nice. However, I am very disappointed with the level of expertise and outcome of the visit. My 2014 Jeep compass has had the check engine light on for a week, steering locked up last week, and has had delayed clicking start. Justin arrived, I gave him the full history of my vehicle (no problems for 10 years) and the issues occurring the last month or so which prompted the call. He started running tests, even drove the car around to see if he could replicate what I had been experiencing. About 30 minutes into the visit he said he couldn't replicate any of the issues; that's okay, as I mentioned it only happened about 50% of the time. But he sat in my car another 20-30 minutes or so, told me he had to call his boss because he was completely stumped. Not really what you want to hear, but even I started making suggestions of what it could be so he could at least do something for me. At the end of the visit he basically just said "sorry I have no idea what's wrong, maybe replace your battery?"... the only thing he found was a sensor on my engine needed replacement, but it's totally unrelated to the other issues. I ended up having to pay $150 for literally no better idea what's wrong with my car and not feeling any safer to drive it. It was a huge waste of my time and now I'm out $150, and I still had to take it to another shop that already figured out the problem not even 24 hours later. Save yourself some money and go to a real auto shop. I understand that some technicians may be learning or lack the knowledge to dive deeper, but someone should be going with them to assist so your customers aren't left feeling robbed and confused.
