Such a beautifully authentic Armenian restaurant in Burbank. I always pass by at night and it always looks so lively and full, so my best friend and I finally stopped in for lunch during the week From the second we walked in, everyone was so warm and welcoming with big smiles, such a genuinely warm family feeling We sat outside on the patio and it was honestly so lovely. Fountain nearby. Gorgeous greenery. Classic Armenian music playing. Hearing Armenian and Russian around us made the whole experience feel even more special, and my best friend was even able to order in Russian with the staff We ordered the lahmajun with cheese and the plain lahmajun. The one with cheese was my favorite. They bring lemon to squeeze on top and it was so, so good. Crispy bread. Melty, stretchy cheese. Perfectly cooked meat. My friend also got borscht for her mom to go Super convenient parking lot adjacent to the restaurant plus plenty of street parking. Such a lovely lunch and such a beautiful atmosphere. I already know I'll be back If you've been thinking about trying this place, absolutely go

Everything that we had here was delicious! This was my first time having lahmajo and I can't wait until I eat it again. The lahmajo with cheese was so good, I saw other tables that had a lahmajo per person. We also got the ker u sus which was good, spas with ishli which was so much lighter than I thought it would be and two drinks. I also really enjoyed the dessert. I normally don't like pakhlava but was very pleasantly surprised by this one because it wasn't too sweet. The interior is very cute with mismatched wooden decor and the exterior has nice outdoor seating. The staff were so friendly and gave lots of great suggestions of food to try. Parking is super easy on the street as well.

During my trip to LA, I had the pleasure of trying Armenian food for the first and second time. Which isn't tough to pull off in Glendale as the suburb of LA has a huge Armenian population. I stopped by for dinner on a Wednesday evening with my sister and her husband at 6:30. The restaurant wasn't too busy when we arrived, but it was at close to capacity by the time we met. Parking is a breeze in their complimentary lot. Ambiance (4/5): The vibe here makes me feel like this would be what it would be like to have a meal in the countryside in Armenia. We're talking lots of wood and old school decor. While we sat inside, they also have a patio with heaters (when the weather's cold). Service (3/5): Not the most friendly and efficient service, but they get the job done. Reminds me of the typical service you get in Europe. The one part that bothers me about this restaurant is their menu. For someone who isn't Armenian (and isn't familiar with the cuisine), the menu is tough to navigate. Menu items don't have descriptions. Even using Google to translate some items leads you to a dead end. They do have a QR code where you can see pictures of the food, which helps, but a description would help to get a better idea. Drinks (3.5/5): They don't have alcohol so that's something to keep in mind if it's important to you. I went with a glass of their lemonade. This is an example where the menu can be confusing. The menu says lemonade so I'm expecting your typical lemonade. Instead I get a purple lemonade as it's actually a berry lemonade. It's one of those situations where a more detailed menu would help. The lemonade was good, so not an issue, but I do like to know what I'm getting before I order it. Food (4/5): I started off with a side of bastirma which is a dried cured beef which is popular in Armenian cuisine. It tastes like salami and it was my first time trying it. I love to try new things and bastirma didn't disappoint. While I didn't order bread, they ended up bringing some anyway. I do recommend you get some bread while you're here. They have a bunch of different types and they have bread ovens, so it's something they're known for. For my main dish, I had a small ajarski (also known as khachapuri), a popular Georgian dish. It's boat-shaped cheese bread with two sunny side up eggs on top. It looks awesome and tastes just as good. And it's a filling meal. The small size was more than enough (they have a large size as well). I haven't had a good khachapuri since I went to a Georgian restaurant several years ago in Tampa. This one wasn't quite as good, as it was slightly overcooked, but it was still very, very solid. A treat for sure and something I can't find in Phoenix. Pro tip: they're known for their lahmajo bread. I typically order what a restaurant is all about, but in this case, I couldn't pass on the ajarski.

The food here was delicious! We did not know much of the food on the menu but the staff were really friendly and recommended us several options. As apps, we got the Blinchik which were good but a bit expensive for 2 small rolls. They were also bit oily for us. We loved the Emergency with Beef dish we got as well as the Lahmacun. They went really well eaten together and these will be what we get when we go back. The Adjarian was a bit too rich and creamy/cheese for me but my boyfriend and friend loved it and ate it up. We also added Basturma which was okay but not needed in the dish.

A gorgeous and truly unique experience in Burbank, this classic Armenian restaurant serves classics such as lahmajo and grilled Armenian chicken with veggies. My favorite dish was their grilled eggplant, which was perfectly seasoned with, crispy and remarkably delicious. The ambiance was incredibly charming, and the service was lovely. Overall, although I am by no means an expert on Armenian food, I highly recommend this eatery!

Tun Lahmojo really is a little taste and feel of Armenia, always a good time and always good food. I love that their menu keeps expanding and somehow just keeps getting better. Sitting here really transports me and makes me feel like I'm eating in Yerevan. I usually grab a couple of lahmajuns to go as a snack for the next day, they're so thin, light, and absolutely delicious. On my last visit, I tried the egg and mushroom omelette, and honestly I didn't expect much when I ordered it... but wow, it was perfect for breakfast. One small heads-up: the omelettes come with nothing on the side, no bread at all. I found that a bit surprising, especially with the tomato omelette since it has a more watery consistency and in Armenian culture it's usually eaten with bread. I just assumed it would come automatically, like it does at most places, so next time I'll know to order it on the side. Overall though, this place is fantastic, authentic flavors, unique dishes, and always something new to try. Definitely one of our go-to spots, and anyone we introduce this place to loves it!

Food was absolutely delicious, so glad we made the choice to try it. Didn't know what to order because it was our first time trying Armenian food so the server gave us a bunch of recommendations and it was perfect. My personal favorite was the Adjarian! Will definitely come back. Loved the vibe they had too.

Tun Lahmajo is a narrow but comfortable patio that plays lively Armenian music. Lahmajo: The oblong-shaped lahmajo is a super thin Armenian pizza. The flatbread is thin as a cloth and crispy as a cracker. There's a light spread made of ground beef, tomatoes, red bell peppers, garlic, and herbs. Squeeze the lemon wedge for extra bright and tangy flavor. Ostri: This is a flavorful soup of stewed beef strips. The stewed tomatoes and red/yellow bell peppers are tantalizingly soft, about to melt into the broth. Dining Area: There's are many tables at the back of the restaurant and many along the side covered patio. Parking: There's a big lot on the side.

*Delayed post from June '25 Tun Lahamajo is a great date night spot for foodies and vibes in general. While there were a few hiccups during our visit, I still recommend trying it out. Before the pandemic, this was a pizza place that has since been taken over by a new owner establishing a second location for a well-known eatery in Glendale with the same name. The outdoor seating was updated to offer more parking spaces, while continuing to provide an intimate space filled with warm wood textures, string lights, and lots of greenery. The inside is also well decorated with an old charm to it and more seating for larger parties. It took a while to be waited on in the beginning, but the food came out rather quickly and in waves that allowed for grazing without our food getting cold. My only major gripe is that they don't serve tap water. I'd read other reviews that said this and assumed it must have been a temporary issue, but it seems like the owners don't trust the Burbank water system, which sounds like a legal issue... but maybe they can clarify with a response as to why they don't offer it? I'd recommend bringing our own water bottle if necessary, or try their citrusy, Sea Buckthorn unsweet tea that comes in a large pot enough for two. Thankfully they do offer their dishes on reusable dishware for those who are looking for a waste conscious dining option. This was my first time trying Lahmajo, an Armenian style flatbread that's thin and crispy, with a little bit of doughiness in the middle and burnt edges that come with baking in a stone oven. The ground beef smeared over the top reminded me of minced sausage with aromatic seasoning similar to fennel. They serve it with a wedge of lemon and the acidity pairs extremely well with the flavors. There is a cheese option, but we went without since we also ordered the Adjarian, similar to an Indian kachapuri, which features large amounts of cheese and an egg in a buttery bread boat. My only criticism with this dish is it needs more seasoning and spice, something like sriracha or spicy peppercorn and a hint of acidity, to break up the large amount of fat and bread. Lastly we ordered the Ker u sus, which reminded me of beef stew in the best way, but with less broth and more sauce. Beef chunks are accompanied by potatoes, sweet peppers, peas, and carrots in a thick tomato sauce. The potatoes are more like fries and are slightly undercooked to give it a bite. The fresh parsley on top pairs really well as expected and we ate it by scooping it up with the Lahmajo.

Home away from home. The flavors and ambiance at Tun Lahmajo truly make you feel like you've gone back to Yerevan. Come here if you want to eat the best lahmajo in Los Angeles. My personal favorite is the Lahmajo with cheese. All the sides we've tried are also amazing. The beef emergency is great. We also ordered the adjarian, another classic that is cooked to perfection. The service is also unbeatable. The servers are always checking up to see how everything is going and everyone is also very friendly. We love coming here and can't wait to be back soon. If you're in Burbank, this is a must try!

We came on a lively weekday evening. They don't do reservations, but we were warmly greeted and quickly seated with lavash and butter on our table immediately. The restaurant has a beautiful and romantic atmosphere, with hybrid indoor/outdoor courtyard dining. Our waiter was attentive and made us feel very welcomed. Their arayes are a must -- it's basically like a lahmajun with two pieces pressed together, and it's insanely good. I usually go all in and order the tabbouleh, babaganoush, a pound of lula kebab, and shish kebab. Honestly, if you're with 2+ people (or even just really hungry), ordering by the pound with sides is way better value than getting individual plates. You get more variety and it just feels like the right way to eat here. Every now and then I'll switch it up and get the liver plate -- it comes with tons of greens and onions, and when you wrap everything in their fresh pita, it's incredible. The food runner was also rude, he dropped the plates on the table without saying a single word. Throughout the entire meal, no one checked on us. No "How is everything?" No "Do you need anything?" Nothing at all. Meanwhile, we noticed that nearby tables were being greeted, checked on, and treated kindly. When we asked for the check, the server literally threw it on the table without saying a word. The experience was so bad that we decided not to leave a tip; Something we never do, especially since we truly value good service and I personally work in the restaurant industry. I don't know if the treatment had anything to do with how we looked or how we were dressed, but I've never felt so ignored and uncomfortable in a restaurant before. The food may be fine, but the service completely ruins the experience. I would not return or recommend this place.

Too much unworthy food! Pictures and reviews from others suggested it would be good, but nope! I've ate at lots of other restaurants of similar, and nothing is like this, rather bland and uneventful. The chicken shish kebab was dry, and not much flavor. The pork ribs were decent. The ribeye steak was not the best. Considering that they state they use Harris Ranch, man I expected a great steak! Uneven cook on it too. I ordered a side onion, wth did they give me, a burnt onion?! Their sumac onions were not made right! Throwing some seasoning on some onions does not make it sumac onions! Things that were right? The roasted tomato, the roasted jalapeño. Possibly the hummus, as I quite liked the consistency and flavor. Wished the food was better. I don't understand their rating. Located right next to the popular and famous Paradise Bakery too.

The Art of the Singular Obsession: Why Zhengyalov Hatz is Glendale's Most Focused Masterpiece…read more------- There's a specific kind of anxiety that comes with opening a menu that reads like a telephone book. When a kitchen tries to make pizza, sushi, and a passable club sandwich all at once, they usually fail at all three. Give me a specialist. Give me someone who wakes up every morning, stares at a single dish, and spends their entire life chasing perfection. Tucked away at 318 E Broadway in Glendale, Zhengyalov Hatz is exactly that kind of sanctuary. They don't have a menu so much as a mission statement. They make one thing. One single, spectacular, fiercely guarded Armenian culinary tradition. And they do it so perfectly that the Michelin Guide had no choice but to take notice. // The Vibe and the Craft // You walk in, and the air hits you immediately--the unmistakable, primal scent of hot griddles and a massive volume of fresh herbs. The clean-lined, minimalist space is centered entirely around a simple walk-up counter, but don't let the efficiency fool you; the greeting you receive the second you step up is instantly warm and genuine. There are no secrets here. You watch as seasoned hands work the dough, rolling out delicate, paper-thin sheets, burying them under an impossibly large mountain of finely chopped greenery, and folding them into tight parcels on the hot griddles. It's a beautiful, well-oiled operation where a steady stream of locals are constantly in and out, clutching take-out boxes filled with their greenly miracles. // The Main Event: The Namesake // The dish is the Zhengyalov Hatz, and when it arrives hot off the griddle, blistered, slightly charred in places, and absolutely steaming, it is a revelation. You bite through that crisp, yielding dough into a dense, vibrant green lining of over a dozen different varietals--spinach, scallions, sorrel, beet leaves, and herbs you probably couldn't name if you tried. It shouldn't be this complex, but it is. It hits every corner of the palate: it's sharp, it's sour, it's earthy, and deeply, viscerally satisfying. Even if you're a devout carnivore, this plant-forward flatbread demands your absolute respect. It's a complete meal wrapped in a charred, unleavened embrace. In fact, the last time I walked through those doors, I had to buy two orders just for myself. It really is that good. (Pro tip: have them slide a pat of butter in there to melt down into the hot greens. Don't overthink it, just do it.) // The Supporting Cast // Because they only make one main dish, deciding what to order takes about three seconds. To wash it down, you get the Okroshka--a cold, tangy yogurt drink punched up with dill and cucumber. It serves as the perfect, refreshing counter-hook to the warm, earthy flatbread. To finish, grab a square of their Paxlava (baklava). It's built with flaky phyllo and ground nuts, offering just a light crust and a sweetness that doesn't overpower the palate. // The Verdict // In a culinary landscape obsessed with "more"--more options, more fusion, more noise--Zhengyalov Hatz is a masterclass in "less." They have bet their entire existence on the power of a single, flawless creation, and they absolutely nail it. It's authentic, it's unpretentious, and it is a mandatory stop. Go early before they sell out, eat it hot, and remember what it tastes like when people actually give a damn about their heritage.

I've come here a few times for their Zhengyalov hats, but once I found out they also make lahmajun, I had to try it. Let me tell you, it is some of my absolute favorite lahmajun. The dough is done perfectly with just the right thinness, the meat is delicious and seasoned so well, and everything about it is exactly to my liking. I definitely recommend it, but be warned, they are massive, so there's no need to over order.
