I recently had dinner at a this Mexican restaurant that absolutely exceeded my expectations. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The decor was vibrant without feeling over-the-top, beautiful hanging lanterns that gave the whole space a cozy, authentic feel. It felt like stepping into a lively cantina, but with a modern, polished touch, but more classy. The service was just as impressive as the setting. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles and made us feel welcome right away. Our server was attentive without hovering, quick with recommendations, and clearly passionate about the menu. The food itself was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care--from the perfectly seasoned tacos to the rich, house-made salsas. Every bite tasted authentic and thoughtfully prepared. If you're looking for a place with fantastic Mexican cuisine, standout service, and a fun, stylish atmosphere, this spot is a must-visit. I'll definitely be coming back to try more dishes.

First time trying cochinita pibil, pretty good

The decor is what brought us in. We were looking for something that was centralized for our family that was coming from all different directions. I found this on yelp and loved the decor pics. The fajitas were super good, our favorite. We can't compare the cochinita pibil as it was our first time trying but we thought it was pretty good. I also tried the sopa azteca but it was so spicy for me. Appetizer tacos were super yummy! Overall, we had a great time and the service was great! We went on a Friday night and were seated right away.

3.5/5 stars. Plenty of parking sharing with the motel next door. They didn't have air conditioning so it was slightly warm inside. It was pretty quiet inside on a weekday for dinner but cute decor overall. They bring over complimentary chips and salsa. We ordered the Birria and the chicken mole. Overall flavors are ok and portions are good for the price. It was one hard working waiter helping all.

We came here for brunch on Valentines Day and enjoyed ourselves. The food was pretty good, and the decor/ambiance was definitely a nice modern feel. Next time, I'd plan on coming in the evening to see how the restaurant livens up a bit! Staff was kind and attentive. (Pepsi products - something to note!)

Wow! I've never been to Tulum, Mexico but I'm pretty sure the ambiance at this restaurant embodies the tasty foodie aspect and accommodating atmosphere. They even have karaoke Friday & Saturday nights in their larger back room! The Spanish aunties & uncles were crooning classic rock tunes, according to my friend. Dance party included =) Jinneth was our lovely waitress and she treated us like family. She was friendly and so genuine. She noticed my friend's phone battery had died and she offered to charge it. Drinks: *White Sangria *Strawberry Margarita *Strawberry Mexican Mule Eats: *Complimentary Chips & two different salsa: rojo y aguacate (avocado) caliente *Choriqueso-- chorizo queso dip with amazing flour tortillas! *Fajita Mar y Tierra *Lobster Enchiladas *Cheese Chile Relleno *Asada Tacos I've been relearning Spanish via Duolingo and Jinneth must've thought I spoke fluently after ordering the fajitas lol! She asked how I wanted the steak cooked. Medium well for me and the grilled trio of chicken, steak, and shrimp comes with fluffy arroz, frijoles, y tortillas de maiz (rice, beans, corn tortillas). So much yum! There's cream sauce under the shrimp. Plump shrimp with just the tail shell on, easy to eat. Choriqueso was so good hot with the yummiest flour tortillas! Seemed housemade and had the perfect chew. My friend was so excited to get the chile relleno and luckily got the last order of the night! Drinks were sweet and refreshing. I'll have to get a mule or mojito next time. Everything looked absolutely amazing and tasted even better! Beautiful ambiance with warm mood lighting and Boheme-style wicker lamps. The tv monitor above the front entrance rotates between vibrant visuals of the Mexican ocean. So serene and relaxing. Take a look out the window for nightly firework views from Disneyland!

This is a romantic, date-night hidden gem. The service here is absolutely wonderful, the food is amazing, and the vibe truly takes you out of reality. I loved everything about this place 10/10 I would definitely come back.

Came here for a lunch meeting and was I amazed at the quality of the food. Definitely worth a nice meal, if it wasn't work hours, I would have definitely gotten a drink as the table next to me had some declisious looking drinks. I got the carnitas de la casa and it was some of the best carnitas I have had in a long while. The flavor, seasoning, were topnotch.

I was very disappointed, the birria plate came extremely greasy, half of the plate was grease. The flavor ok, not great. The beans on the side very salty. They offer salsa and chips, the chips were old, and the salsa had a hair. The plates look really nice, but the flavor and quality not worth it, as it is not cheap. Not going back ever.

Mango Margarita (so yummy) and very enjoyable!!! Not overpowered by liquor just the right equal amount to savor each sip !!!

Seasoned to perfection!! The food is delicious and well seasoned. We ordered the cowboy steak and carnitas. It was delicious and cooked well as we asked. The vibe of the restaurant reminds me of Tulum and the staff is attentive and friendly. First time here and was not disappointed at all. High hopes after seeing such positive reviews on Yelp, but was left slightly disappointed. We dined for lunch on a Saturday, it wasn't too busy though we did make a reservation on Yelp. For starters, the table wasn't ready when we arrived, so we helped push two tables together. The restaurant was not busy, but service was slower than you'd expect. We were in no rush, so this wasn't a problem but it was noticeable. All of the staff were very friendly and attentive. They offer complementary chips and salsa, though both salsas were extremely spicy (this is coming from someone who generally enjoys a little heat). Once the food was ready it did not come out all at once, there was probably close to 10 minutes before everyone in my party received their food. The first few plates to come out were surprisingly cooled down (enchiladas) which was odd seeing as they were the first to arrive. I tried the tostada salad, which was full of lettuce (maybe a little too full) I had to dig for the beans underneath, and they used guacamole to secure the tostada shell to the plate which would have been nice to know before I finished the meal (I feel like this is a waste of good avocado). Overall it didn't live up to the hype for me, though it is worth giving a try for yourself.

A nice restaurant with some interesting interior to make it seem like you're in Tulum. The have a variety of Mexican classics and a touch of their own twist to it. To start off I was craving a nice fresh Guacomole so I ordered that and I was suggested by the server to add crispy pork belly to it and it was a great decision. The pork belly was cooked to a perfect crisp with a chewy inside and just that itself was delicious. The Guacomole was just ok but by adding the pork belly it made it ten times better. For the food I ordered their Carnitas Taco plate which comes with rice and beans. The tacos tasted good but was a little on the dry side for it being carnitas so unless you're drenching it in salsa there was a little dryness to it. Tulum while interestingly decorated, the basic items I chose felt just okay to me. Service and attentiveness by the gentleman serving me was excellent.

What a nice place. The decorations. It was beautiful. The staff was friendly and our server Pedro was great. The food was delicious too. Just the salsa and cheese dip were pretty spicy. Good though. There were 9 of us and I love how they have that huge square table where everyone can see the each other and converse. I highly recommend and we will be back next time we are in OC. read more

Made a reservation for three on a Friday evening. Plenty of seating, lots of parking and pretty ambiance. Ordered a chori queso and tacos al gobernador, they were delicious. The chef came out to greet us which was a nice gesture. Will be coming back on the weekend to try their pozole. read more

My friend recommended this place for our next brunch group date and it was FANTASTIC. Every plate we got looked and tasted so delicious! The staff attending us provided excellent service! Also, shout out to Leo (i believe was his name?) for talking to our table and asking if we had a safe ride home after we had a couple of mimosa glasses. I've driven by this restaurant 1,000 times and finally stopped in. The food is fantastic! It is fresh and tastes authentically homemade. By far the best guacamole I've ever had. The service is what sets this place apart from the generic Mexican restaurant. The staff are genuinely invested in their jobs. We thought our server was the owner because she was so dedicated to her job! Ambiance is great. You feel like you stepped into Tulum!! read more

This authentic Mexican restaurant is a true gem! The lobster enchiladas and chile verde were absolutely delicious! fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The chile verde had just the right amount of spice and came in a generous portion, perfect for sharing. The ambience is beautifully designed, making it ideal for celebrations like a girls night out or a birthday dinner. But honestly, the food speaks for itself-- every bite was outstanding! Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try the food because no staff member could be found. We called out "hello" twice and looked around the restaurant, but no one ever came out. Our reservation was for 10:30 AM, and after waiting a few minutes, we decided to leave. As we were walking out, we noticed a worker peek out from the kitchen and then disappear again. The restaurant itself was beautiful, and I'm disappointed I didn't get to experience the food. read more

If you are in the Disneyland area, this is off the beaten path. Kind of worn decor that was ok to start. Food was only average and nothing stands out reflecting a week later. Sadly, we can't recommend eating here. read more

DON'T DRIVE BY THIS PLACE, if you're looking for an oasis of style and taste with excellent levelled up Mexican food here in the wilds of South Harbor Blvd. Looks plain, but is done up really well inside, charming, music, classy, and comfortable booths for seating. And the food is REALLY good! Mexican specialties (and the basics if you want that, too). It's a higher price point (entrees mostly in the $20-24 range), but absolutely justified by the food. Their mole is fabulous, chile relleno is excellent, tacos are terrific (I had the El Pastor). As we tried everything, we kept wondering, "how did we luck out and find this place with such incredible food?" (Right next to our hotel for Disney) They also have ten different flavors of margaritas (and we tried about six of them because we went twice in our two days staying here!) All made with fresh fruit--no crappy mixes. Please please have yourself a really nice calm, delicious lunch or dinner here. You won't be disappointed. In fact you'll be pleasantly surprised and thrilled. :-) read more

Took forever for someone to come greet us or sit us and the place wasn't packed at all. There were lots of empty tables. It was a pretty place. The food was not that great. My enchiladas had a ton of not melted cheese on the inside. I ordered streak and got chicken. The crepes were good. The ambiance was pretty empty. There was like 25 people in the whole restaurant on a Saturday morning. The waiter took forever to bring the check and to pick it up too. I ended up getting up to pay at the register. read more

Choose this place! You will not regret it. The food is spectacular; fresh and authentic. Don't skip the guacamole. I recommend all of the fajita dishes and the crab enchiladas. The bar tender is a wizard. You have to try the Smoked Pineapple Margaritas. They're tasty and made table-side, flames and all. The service merits it's own review. The restaurant staff went above and beyond to accommodate our large party. They set us up in a semi-private space, accommodating our ever changing number of guests and stayed open late to ensure our party had a wonderful experience. This included making a few special dishes for our vegan and lactose free guests. read more

We had the absolute best time at Tulum Restaurant, and a huge part of that was thanks to Maoyi's incredible service! Despite our group being a bit funny and loud and definitely a bit tipsy, she handled everything with patience, professionalism, and a fantastic attitude. We ordered seven flights of mimosas, and Maoyi made sure we were taken care of every step of the way. She was super attentive, friendly, and so much fun, always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed while keeping the energy light and enjoyable. Her ability to balance professionalism with humor made our experience even better. She was an absolute star--helpful, kind, and unbelievably patient with our group. If you're ever at Tulum Restaurant, ask for Maoyi--she's the best! read more

What an amazing dining experience we went for lunch we had fajitas trio which consisted of steak, chicken, and shrimp. They came out, sizzling, hot with amazing spices, great flavor, tender, and overall delicious. The service was also outstanding. Our server Leonardo was amazing. He checked on us frequently to see if we needed anything. I highly recommend this place. It was our first time, but will not be the last great job. the burritos are huge also. The food was out of this world. I am born and raised in Mexico and their pozole tasted better than anything I have ever tasted. The rib eye taco was very delicious. The meat was tender and the taco had cheese and wacamole were a great addition. The lobster enchiladas tasted very fresh but a little creamy for me. The taste was on point. Their drinks are delicious as well. The service is great! Lauren and Pedro were great very friendly and welcoming. The ambience is casual. They play a mixture of different types of Spanish music. Visited Tulum OC this weekend and was disappointed to find out that they no longer serve their amazing Mexican rice. Also the lobster enchiladas were extremely salty when it the past they were perfection. Unless they go back to their original recipes I don't intend on going back or recommending this place to anyone. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. The slices were on the thinner side, but the quality was still amazing, especially for the price point. Fresh, clean flavors, and you can tell the fish is high quality. I totally wish we could've tried more items, but we had just eaten lunch beforehand. The employees and the owner, I think, was really friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We have been waiting for this place to open since we notice the work they started doing on the building a few months back and found out it was going to be Mexican Cuisine. What a turn out compared to what it was!! We decided to check it out this past Sunday for brunch, since their IG story promoted Bottomless Mimosas at $20 bucks with the purchase of an entrée! (Who doesn't love a bottomless mimosa place and at that price!) We were greeted by Rene (the manager) who let us choose our table. Right away Leonardo showed up and introduced himself as our waiter. Very polite and on point with everything. We each ordered the bottomless mimosas and were happy to see that they are not premixed! They bring it to your table chilled in a champagne bucket, and the bottles just kept coming! 10/10! We ordered the "Birriaquiles" which were so savory and just the right amount Also the Montecristo sandwich which was heaven in my mouth! Delicious We order the chocolate chip pancakes (for the 8 yr old) that was with us and nothing was left on his plate! Over all, we were very happy with this place and let's not forget the ambiance, from the decor to the lighting and the music, it was definitely a Tulum vibe! We started off with the guacamole and chips, which was fresh and perfectly seasoned. For my main dish, I ordered the Cecina tacos, and they were incredible! The meat was tender and flavorful, paired with homemade tortillas and fresh toppings. My friend had the lobster enchiladas, and she raved about the rich, savory sauce. The drink menu was also impressive. I tried their signature margarita, which was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. Also the Margaritas is Organics. Wowwwwwwww. My wife and I stopped in for lunch recently, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. I ordered my steak medium, but it was served overly well done. While I chose not to send it back, it was clearly not prepared as requested. My wife ordered the Tulum Breakfast Plate, and it arrived without the sausage. When we brought this to the server's attention, he told us he was already aware. It was concerning that this was never communicated to us beforehand. Instead, he brought bacon to the table without asking if that substitution would be acceptable. When we explained she did not want additional bacon, he simply took it back without offering any further solution. The lack of communication and overall service left a poor impression, and the food quality did not make up for it. Based on this visit, we would not return. read more

I visited this restaurant for the first time, and it was quite appealing both outside and inside. The waitress was friendly, and I ordered the chilaquiles verdes de lengua. Unfortunately, my experience took a turn for the worse when I discovered a mosquito-like insect in my dish while eating. Given my sensitive stomach, this was especially distressing. I immediately informed the waitress, who apologized and explained that they've been dealing with mosquito issues due to the real plants inside. She offered to remake my dish, but by then, my appetite was gone. Additionally, I noticed a 30% discount on the receipt, yet they still charged me for the food with the mosquito that I couldn't eat, which I find very unprofessional for a high-end restaurant. I ordered the Tamarindo Margarita and was incredibly disappointed -- it tasted more like gasoline than anything resembling tamarindo. Not a hint of the flavor it was supposed to have. I had the Sopa Azteca, which had decent flavor overall, but the queso in it was rubbery and unpleasant. My husband ordered the Tierra y Mar fajitas, and they were completely bland -- no seasoning, no flavor, just disappointing. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, and now I understand why.
