Goes perfectly with tea and I don't think you can find this cake anywhere else in Toronto!

Family-run place on the Danforth with incredible desserts! Been coming here for years but just discovered their homemade yema cakes. They're not super sweet, and they're so fresh and light. The icing is Filipino-style, so not too sugary. Tried the ube-flavoured one and I'll definitely be back for the other flavours! Goes perfectly with tea and I don't think you can find this cake anywhere else in Toronto! Also, since I'm writing this in COVID times, you should know that this small business is really doing things right: they are wearing masks, they have Plexiglass at the counter, and when the weather isn't too cold, they prop the door open to circulate the fresh air. Their tea selection is great, too, of course! They're so friendly and they'll always give the best recommendations. Very recommended!

A small cozy family owned cafe in the heart of the Danforth. We were really excited to try this cafe because of their funnel cake. They offer a variety of different teas and small desserts. We got the funnel cake with ube ice cream and it was very refreshing. The ube ice cream was sweet and complimented the crispy funnel cake well. If you're looking for a quiet place to relax or study then check out this cafe!

How I LOVE little quaint cafes where I can sit in a comfy chair and people watch, while sipping on a hot cup of chocolate/tea/coffee. Tsaa is pronounced "Cha" or "Cha-ah"; it's how Filipinos say tea. This lovely tea shop (which also serves hot chocolate, coffee and other drinks) is run by the hard working Ramos family. Hospitality is first and foremost in their business: you can tell by the way they greet you with a genuine smile, bring your drinks to your table, bake their scones in house (not hard and crumbly but light with the texture of a biscuit), and lovingly create their delicious and fresh food in their small kitchen. There are tempting displays of organic vegan desserts from The Earth Organic and Dufflet Pasteries. Behind the desserts are over 100 different kinds of tea (they can special order a tea for you). Along the opposite wall is a colorful collection of tea pots and coffee presses. There's even an electric fireplace to add to the charm. I had the smoked salmon bagel which turned out to be a full blown sandwich: smoked salmon, cream cheese, tomato, cucumber, avocado, havarti cheese on a toasted bagel. The sandwich was so flavorful and very satisfying. I also had a small butternut squash soup which was thick and savoury. My husband enjoyed his chai tea along with a cheese and chive scone and a tiny bowl of lentil soup; both soups were made in house. I'll have to come back to try their tempting halo halo dessert where they add ube ice cream, pinipig (similar to rice crispies), and leche flan (custard). Full disclaimer - I fell in love with this place before I realized I went to the same church the owners do.

Cute little shop near Chester subway station that my beau have not been to for years. This place is run by a family and I love that they sell Sweets from the Earth products!! I saw the Yelp sticker at the front and immediately checked in and earned a 5% discount! Every bit helps! Great place for groups of 2 to bond over a beverage or sweet treat. There are 10 two-seaters. They kindly gave us a glass of water without being asked. Friendly family! Interesting enough, they also sell this aloe Vera gel that my mom highly recommend for dry skin. Small world. Their butternut squash soup was very good! Warning though, any translation less than $10 will incur a 25 cents charge if you pay with debit or credit card. Paying in cash will save this trouble. Just a bit small and tight space. Otherwise, lovely cute place this is.

By default... I love Tea Shop! So by default I found Tsaa Tea Shop amazing... Loves the armchairs and how I can just chilled out with a chilled tea. Chilled Apple Sencha Tea ($2.95) half sweetened with honey served in a half pint glass made me felt like I am drinking beer. My tea was delivered to my table..while I was busy checking in with my Yelp App using their WIFI..talking about services! Pastries looks delicious... they are from Tokyo Bakery (http://www.yelp.ca/biz/tokyo-bakery-scarborough) in Scarborough. I wish I can stay a little longer... but my Yelp friends were too eager looking for a patio to enjoy a REAL beer!

Tsaa Earl Grey w a vegan Matcha Square

Came here for a pot of tea and a treat on a lazy Sunday ~ It's a small and quaint place. Seating is limited. When we were here, all seats were taken. In spite of its small size, Tsaa offers quite the variety of tea leaves. I had a single pot of Tsaa Earl Grey (which was fantabulous btw ... ) and a matcha square (vegan !). I'm a fan.

Blueberry scone with the texture of a fluffy pancake
    Karmen N.

Came in because we saw the chalk sign outside that said crepes. Ended up getting a scone, since the crepe flavours are pretty standard (ham and cheese, banana, maple syrup etc.). I got the blueberry scone--it's made with all purpose flour (unfortunately no whole wheat options) big blueberries, and some caramelized sugar bits on the bottom. I'm surprised that the texture is as fluffy as a pancake-- it's soft on the inside and crusty on the outside. There's an overwhelming amount of tea choices! Lots of local, organic, fairtrade teas and coffees to choose from. Nice vibe! Place feels very welcoming, with their bright teapots on the shelves for sale, and friendly staff.

    Black tea with rose petals

Such a wonderful shop! Lovely welcoming service and best Bubble tea we've had. Also an extensive selection of fine teas. My black tea with rose petals was to die for :) I highly recommend Tsaa Tea Shop!!!

Came by for tea and desserts. Comfy tea shop on the danforth that has a welcoming environment. Ordered the coconut oolong tea which was aromatic as it tasted. Highly recommend! Also ordered the almonds and berries crepe topped with ube ice cream. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely a good place for a tea and place to catch up with friends.

    London Fog and blueberry scone
    Yumi T.

Came here on a weekday morning. The place was empty so I could enjoy breakfast quietly by myself. I had a London Fog and blueberry scone. The London Fog is made with loose leaf earl grey tea and it was probably the best I've ever had. The flavour of the earl grey was really fragrant and it wasn't too sweet, which I like. The scone was amazing too. They are very generous with their blueberries and the scone was crispy on the outside and soft inside. I'll definitely be coming back!

It's the kind of place that makes you want to settle in, order slowly, and really enjoy the evening. We started with a few appetizers, and the beef tartare was one of my favorite dishes of the night.. beautifully balanced, well seasoned, and rich without feeling too heavy. The foie gras was also very nicely done, smooth and delicate, especially with the toasted bread and the sweetness from the preserve on the side. The risotto was creamy and comforting, with a deep savory flavor that felt very French in the most satisfying way. For the main, the duck dish was especially memorable.. rich, hearty, and full of depth, with the beans and sauce bringing everything together in a way that felt rustic but still refined. What I appreciated most was that nothing felt overly trendy or overcomplicated. The food felt grounded in classic bistro cooking, and that confidence came through in the experience. Overall, this is the kind of restaurant I'd come back to when I want a slower, more intimate dinner in the city. Warm atmosphere, thoughtful food, and the kind of place that leaves a very lasting impression.
