My friends and I rushed in at 10:30PM because we were dying to get our sugary drink craving! We came in here because it was one of the only bubble tea shops open this late. My friends and I ordered the Iced Grapefruit Tea, Passionfruit & Lime tea & the Passionfruit with Pineapple & Mango! We also got the boneless chicken with Soy Garlic. In total it came out to about 29 dollars. I think that the drinks are definitely on the pricey side but I believe that our drinks were still really good and refreshing. I had the Grapefruit with 50% sugar and honestly it was a perfect balance of sweet and tart for me. I also really like icy drinks so because it was in slush form, I liked it even more. The cup also isn't the thin plastic that your normal bubble tea comes in. The cup was thicker and you could definitely reuse it at home if you wanted! The chicken were large pieces and generously coated with the sauce. Because we came in so late, I'm assuming they made it fresh so it did taste really good! There is plenty of seats and outlets for you to do work or catch up with friends. It's really bright and modern, with marble tables and succulents in cute jars! I really like the soy garlic wings and the Cheese dukbokki here and that's the only reason why I keep coming back. But the services here are impossible to deal with, especially when you call in for takeouts. It's always a long wait for someone to pick up and then when someone picks up they leave you to wait on the phone for several minutes. It's doesn't sound that long but trust me if you're on the phone trying to order something that's a really long time. The batter is nice and crispy and the sauce is flavorful but not too overwhelming. The highlight of this place has got to be the cheese dukbokki. Forget vivis, tenren and tbaar. Tsaocaa is my new favorite spot on 8 ave! Not only is it sparkling white and clean, the drinks DO NOT have the powdery taste. I've visited twice already and my favorite drink by far is the cloud mist milk green tea. I had it both cold and hot, I recommend the hot one if you want to warm up. Tsaocaa is located above a Internet cafe so there's always people out front but don't let that deter you from going in! There's PLENTY of seating. Did I mention they also have fried chicken?? Nice new place. They have Korean style fried chicken (menu is from...bbq chicken... ) and bubble tea. The chicken was good; they were crunchy and the meat was quite juicy. Just mentioning... one chili pepper level spicy is not spicy lol, so if you want spicy... maybe try the one with more . Also, there were some disposable gloves available at the front, so you dont have to worry about getting your hands dirty with the chicken . The bubble tea was ok. I got the fragrans oolong milk tea (comes with bubbles)...didnt really taste much of the fragrans tho... but still ok. I feel like I liked the regular tea that my friend got, compared to mine.... The medium/small was around the size of a soda can while a large was taller. Bright interior with lots of seating, but the rose oolong tea with matcha milk foam was disappointing (bland, didn't taste rose, matcha probably best part) and very annoyed that I left here smelling like cigarettes. ~ As soon as I walked into the shop, it smelled like cigarettes. Not sure if it was because someone who worked there/owner(?) was smoking on the steps in front of shop; they walked into the back when they finished. The 5-7 mins I waited for my drink (which felt really long) was enough to make my hair smell like smoke. Their menu is a bit different from most bubble tea shops - they don't have the typical flavors, more flavored oolong teas, many different kinds of green teas, and option of adding a cheese milk foam or matcha foam to the drink, which was intriguing. Got a rose oolong tea with matcha milk foam. Wasn't adventurous enough for the cheese foam though I'm sure it would've been fine. Cup was cute and study (though it took me a minute to figure out where the straw went, ended up putting it in the hole farthest away from the red thing). The drink itself was meh - very bland and no rose taste. Could say it was "refreshing" but it wasn't satisfying. Felt more thirsty after drinking it, not sure how that was possible. Matcha foam was probably the best part since it at least tasted like matcha. Hubby said after that it might've tasted better if we had mixed the matcha foam into the tea.. no idea if that was what I was supposed to do. In any case, this didn't satisfy my bubble tea craving. Also, at $4.65 ($4.25 + tx?) but didn't feel worth it. Probably would've been better spent on a rice box. They also had a chicken menu at the counter. Initially thought they sold that there too but in hindsight maybe it's the shop on the lower level (see photo of front of shop). Looks like they accept credit card but I went in with only cash in hand since I incorrectly assumed they were cash only. Looks like they also have a stamp card (10th drink free) but I wasn't asked if I had one or offered one.. though I didn't bother to grab once since I doubted that I would return 8 additional times anyway. Decor could be described as cute and modern, bright and clean walls and decor with what appeared to be fake plants... but it felt a bit off. Not sure if the lighting was too bright or something else, but it felt like it was trying to present itself as something it wasn't.. if that makes any sense at all. A strange ambiance. One of the vases with probably fake flowers was still wrapped in plastic with a price label on it. There was loud Chinese music playing in background but the sound of the blenders making the drinks were even louder. I don't know how I should feel about this place. At first I thought it was an amazing find ! Fresh tea with Korean chicken. How can a combination like that not be good !?! But soon after this both me and my friend got a small case of the runs. We don't know if this was really caused by the food here but we didn't have anything that day other than the chicken. Only issue is that the food takes 20 mins or so, I'd suggest you order by phone ahead of time if your hungry, but that does mean their chicken is freshly made to order. The staff have been indifferent towards me. My friend knows one of them personally so they've never really been rude to me. I'm not even sorry for rating this place so harshly during the pandemic. Of all the bubble tea shops in the area they're service is by far the worst and here's why 1. They request customers to cancel their grub hub orders. Upon all the orders made from my household they would either ignore the grubhub order until you call the restaurant to check the status of the order or they would call you and request that you cancel your grubhub order and order on the phone instead. The lady that calls us always claims that it's cheaper if we call instead. The whole rodeo always causes us about 2 hours to get the food. Why bother putting your business on grubhub if you won't let your customers use it? 2. That's another thing. We live roughly 15 mins (with traffic) from this location and somehow we always have to wait up to an hour to receive our food. The last time we called to order they did not deliver until we called to ask for the order and they say they will have it delivered but that wasn't until another hour. We received cold chicken and fries that probably just sat there for over an hour before being delivered. If we are within the delivery range then how come there is such long wait time? 3. Their honey garlic wings and my brother is obsessed so he's willing to wait a whole hour or two. Every. Single. Time. But when he started calling to order again the restaurant would not pick up even after 5 tries. These are all signs of terrible service. We really want to be loyal customers but they make it very difficult for us. Especially when it's still the pandemic and we rely of food delivering services so much. We have had so much patience and understanding with this business but it's been disappointing til the end. So if by chance the business owner or manager is able to read this I hope you can consider overlooking the business operations to see if you work on these flaws. We look forward to be future customers but as of now it's not an ideal go to. Update: this is officially the last purchase from this business. The delivery guy shows up an hour late and requests a certain tip and he receives then proceeds to complain because "the weather is cold. It's not enough". I understand and I empathize his situation therefore I included an extra fee. However he continued to be rude throughout the whole exchange. When i got the drink, it had bubbles in it so i informed them i didn't ask for bubbles and they looked at me really confused until i pulled out the receipt and they took it back to redo. However, the lady that remade the drink didn't personally hand it to me and just left it on the counter by the register until i asked for it.. I am conflicted on how many stars to give this place. I want to give a 2, but I guess I will give a 3 because I understand businesses are hurting. Korean fried chicken is freshly made so I recommend calling in or you'll be waiting for a very long time. When I went to pay, the price didn't match up. My food was $2 more than what was on the menu. They didn't bother telling me that until I pointed it out and they said it was the old menu. I hate it when establishments do that and try to pull a fast one on you. It was only $2 so I let it slide and also let it slide because of the pandemic. I am all for supporting mom and pop's, but please don't pull a fast one on your customers if you want loyal returning customers. The wings were terrible. I ordered soy garlic and the sauce was basically drizzled on top. It wasn't mixed in like how it's supposed to be done. So some parts of the chicken wasn't even sauced correctly. The wings were also terrible because they were so so so so so tiny. They were the size for a kid. I felt so ripped off. I really wanted to love this place, but I won't be returning.
