Came here with the kids after hanging out at the indoor play space around the corner, and we were pleasantly surprised. The $30 sizzling sirloin steak and beef fried rice are a must -- both were so flavorful and the steak was perfectly tender. What makes this place especially great for a family outing is that they also have options for picky eaters. We tried the fried nuggets and French fries, as well as the spaghetti and meatballs, and honestly, both tasted amazing! I also got the ox rib soup, which had a pretty strong wine smell and taste. If you like that flavor, you'll probably enjoy it, but I was hoping for more of the sweet daikon/radiah flavor. Still, the soup was very flavorful and enjoyable. A really nice surprise came at the end when they brought the bill with a bucket of lollipops for the kids and little inflatable Paw Patrol wrist balloons. Such a cute touch! The restaurant itself is small, with only one table that can accommodate up to 6 people, so I'd say it's ideal for a party of 4. Overall, a surprisingly good family-friendly spot with delicious food, reasonable prices, and thoughtful little touches. Note: Cash only restaurant IG: Jubes111

I liked the use of the purple rice and the filling flavor is not bad. However, the ratio of rice and filling was quite disappointing, the first few bites and the last few bites were all just rice. The filling was just in the center and the rice by itself is quite plain. I was disappointed there wasn't fried dough (you tiao) inside the rice roll despite the descriptions, instead there were small fried pieces kind of like the stuff you'll see as a poke topping. The size was also smaller than I expected. Overall, I would say it's not bad for a snack but the flavor doesn't fix my Taiwanese fan Tuan itch.

Our table of six ordered Hainese chicken, stir fried Chinese watercress, stir fried noodles (not sure which ones these were), this taro nest with chicken and cashew dish, and roti canai. Overall everything was pretty solid. No complaints with the Hainese chicken, but it could have been a bit saltier. The sauce with it was pretty decent, but I enjoy the chicken itself being seasoned. I'm not sure which exact noodles we got, but they were decent as well. They were stir fried with beef and had a soy sauce flavor. The taro nest dish was also good with the fried taro being a good balance to the chicken stir fry dish inside. Roti canai was standard, but I wish it was warmer. The sauce was the typical curry sauce with a piece of chicken inside. Stir fried watercress with belacan (shrimp) sauce is good too. The belacan sauce wasn't overpowering which I appreciate. I would come back here again for a quick, hearty meal. It ended up being around $35 ish per person so not too bad for the large amount of food ordered.

Had Em bookmarked for the longest time, because they seemed to be one of the few places that had it. I can attest that this place absolutely hits the nail on the head. We arrived as soon as they opened and it was rather empty, but customers slowly trickled in. The space is pretty small and tight -- probably fits ~20 people total. We were almost elbow to elbow with the table next to us, but don't let that deter you from a good meal. Service is quite fast, because our food was brought out almost immediately after we ordered. They serve hu tieu wet and dry, but I usually gravitate towards the dry noodle with soup on the side. The hu tieu could use a little more meat and toppings, but overall still a very solid and flavorful bowl with a lot of freshness from the herbs. The broth, served with a hefty chunk of pork bone, was very comforting and I usually like slowly mixing spoonfuls of the broth with my noodles to coat them a little more for flavor. Also ordered cha gio and nem nuong cuon for the table to share. Loved how refreshing the nem nuong cuon was and portion size of the nem nuong. I could've done without the cha gio; it was a bit on the smaller side and didn't really stand out to me much. Overall pretty authentic spot that has answered my calling for a solid bowl of hu tieu that I can't find anywhere else in the city.

It is rich in body and smooth in texture. However, the aroma of the tea was slight covered by the milk choice. Typically, HK milk tea usually comes with evaporated milks or condensed milk by request. Using regular milk will covered the aroma of the tea and pushed the texture to a smoother but lost its taste of the traditional HK Milk Tea favor. This is still good for a regular craving though. I also tried this French Toast with Cream of Mushroom. The French Toast in HK should be paired with Syrup and butter with jam/peanut butter within the toast. This one at Like Cafe was fusion with Cream of Mushroom and cheese inside the toast. It made this devilish afternoon tea item a savory meal itself. It's amazing. I cannot stop saying "CS" (Crazy in Cantonese) after trying the first bite. I recommend to try it with Iced Tea with lemon if you are a small eater. Overall, This is an awesome cafe you can try when you come to Brooklyn. Thanks for satisfying my Hong Kongers Stomach. Burn Apetito Calvin
