I get that Chinese bakeries can be fast paced and a little rushy, but usually the staff are still respectful. When I walked in, the space was small so I stepped aside to quickly call my friend about what to order. I grabbed a hot dog bread and asked what was in the jong. The staff told me peanuts, and when I said "no thank you," she asked again with an attitude, "so do you want?" I repeated no, and then asked for just one egg tart. She rolled her eyes, rang me up, shoved the change on the counter, no thank you, no nothing. The bread and egg tart themselves were actually good, but the way I was treated really soured the whole experience. If the service wasn't so unpleasant, I would've been happy to come back.

Extensive menu, but my friends came several times before, so we knew what the good dishes were here: - Curry Fishball Cherng Fun: Warm, soft, and fresh! This curbed our initial hunger and was a good starter for the table. - A + B Breakfast Combo Orders: Both combos come with a milk tea and egg sandwich, along with the main dish (Macaroni Soup or Tomato Beef Mac Soup). Filling for one person and a great value! - HK Chow Mein: Classic, solid noodle dish. One of my faves to have, no complaints. - Beef Chow Fun: Another classic noodle dish. Good flavor and great portion! Plenty of dishes here from breakfast combos to lunch and dinner dishes. Food is decent! This spot is on the smaller end, so expect to wait a bit during peak times. Would revisit for a home-y meal!

This location is just as unorganized as the other one. Sometimes it feels very cramped... they have more tables of goods than tables for seating. It wasn't always like this... only after Covid. Their baos are pretty standard and some are definitely better than their competitors (Sky Bakery and now the new one). We like their Mexico bao, pork floss, their pineapple bun is softer (less dense, which I prefer), and I like that they offer mochi. My son likes their ham & egg bc they use a fresh fried egg for their bao. Sadly their coffee & tea is lacking... but most bakery are the same... have yet to find a good cup of coffee from a Chinese bakery. Prices are still good and affordable, so a good option for quick breakfast, snack, lunch.

First things first, no matter how good the food is, if I'm dripping sweat while eating the food, that's a big no-no because that means I can't enjoy it! That's what it was like inside Kowloon Cafe this afternoon because they barely had any air on in 80+ degree weather. It's also really dark in there, which wasn't very welcoming. Now, onto the food: - Beef Chow Fun: it was good, but very oily. I know you need a lot of oil to keep it from sticking, but it was a bit too much for me. The beef was also not as tender as I had hoped. - Baked Pork Chop Rice: if you like sweet tomato sauce with your baked rice dishes, then this is for you (and me!) I enjoyed this dish a lot, but could've enjoyed it more if there had been AC because it came out piping hot! - Assorted Combination Bowl: I ordered this thinking it was 煎讓三寶, but I was very wrong. It was a mixture of pork skin, fish balls, radish, and squid. I would not get this again because it was extremely bland. If you do decide to get it, go for the one with curry sauce, as I'm sure that would be at least tastier. - Rice Noodles w/ Mix Sauce: very bouncy and chewy rice noodles with a lot of sauce, which is right up my alley. I would order this again if I'm ever back. Overall, my experience here was just okay. There were a few hits and misses. They can do better with a renovation (the booth cushions were damaged) and brighter lighting. Too many competitors in the area with better food make it hard for me to want to come back. I'll consider ordering the baked pork chop rice for takeout in the future.

This storefront used to be Yozi's, which looks almost the same now. It is bright and welcoming, seating is open, and felt spacious. The service was decent, and the food came out relatively fast. For appetizers, I got the salt and pepper squid. For $6.50, I really can't expect much in terms of portion sizes, but I was quite disappointed at how overcooked it was. It was too dark to be golden brown and was very dry and chewy. Each piece of squid was essentially more than $1 each. I would not get this again. The club sandwich was decent, but it's hard to mess up a simple sandwich. For entrees, we got the Baked Curry Chicken Cutlet Rice and the Baked Portuguese Chicken Cutlet Rice. Both were actually pretty good, and portions were good, although I will say the curry one has a stronger flavor. The Portuguese sauce was very coconutty and milder in flavor. The chicken cutlets were seasoned well and were tender. I also love that parts of the egg fried rice base were a bit crispy, similar to the bottom of a claypot rice, but not as tough on the teeth. The rice dishes were better than expected, and the prices weren't that bad. I'd come back to try some of their other things while keeping in mind not to order the squid again! They're also opened til 10, so it's a great spot for a later dinner when everything else is closed.

The Pineapple Bun was huge and toasted up very well. The top crust was crumbly and the way I like it and inside was just very nice bread. This was probably my 6th visit, and the first in a few years, but the dimsum was still as consistent as ever. Our table of six ordered Hainese chicken, stir fried Chinese watercress, stir fried noodles (not sure which ones these were), this taro nest with chicken and cashew dish, and roti canai. I'm not sure which exact noodles we got, but they were decent as well. They were stir fried with beef and had a soy sauce flavor. The taro nest dish was also good with the fried taro being a good balance to the chicken stir fry dish inside. Roti canai was standard, but I wish it was warmer. The sauce was the typical curry sauce with a piece of chicken inside. Stir fried watercress with belacan (shrimp) sauce is good too. The belacan sauce wasn't overpowering which I appreciate. I would come back here again for a quick, hearty meal. It ended up being around $35 ish per person so not too bad for the large amount of food ordered.
