I always enjoy getting Tryyaki! Their drive-thru is a great option for when you're craving Chinese, but don't want to pay for delivery or sit down somewhere. Very reasonable prices, huge servings, lots of options. I highly recommend their shrimp fried rice and their teriyaki chicken. The only thing of theirs I have ever been totally unimpressed by is their sushi, but good sushi costs a bit more. I don't recommend that. Otherwise, try Tryyaki! read more

This place has gone so far down hill it's not worth even considering late at night in a snow storm. Our last order consisted of Beef Kabobs (dripping in blood and completely charred on the outside), Crab Rangoon (we couldn't find the crab...or the green onion, I'm not even positive they had real cream cheese), Teriyaki Beef (I think there was beef somewhere under the onions) and Vegetable Lo Mein (I think it came out of a can). The drinks were hot as the cans had been packed in the bag with the boxes of food for so long. The noodle salad tasted like something one might imagine chilled dog vomit might resemble. Have had to spit out pieces of old, dry, splintering chicken almost every time I ate here. It is cheap and open late though, which is nice.

Sub-Par food with even worse service, terrible communication skills and downright rude. I always think it'll be better when I order but it never is. If you want old sushi that'll make you sick or stringy chicken, or staff that won't even or can't even answer your questions then this is the place for you. Pretty good Chinese food considering it's drive thru only.

Got the honey chicken, chicken wasn't that great and the honey sauce tasted odd, it wasn't very sweet at all. Also apparently you can only order things as a meal but I really don't want the crab Rangoon or the salad or even most of the rice which is not the best. The drink is small too. I have also tried the sesame chicken which is good and the orange chicken which wasn't. Would be better if there was a cheaper option to just get the entree read more

This place has great food I give them that, but they try and bill people an extrat $1.50 bad weather charge with out informing or asking if its ok. I placed an order today weather forcast was cloudy and 35degrees, no rain, now sleat or anything, the road are clear and completely safe, no weather advisery or any bad weather. I was told total was $16 something the driver showed up and the ticket was over $18 and I was told bad weather charge was added. I promptly chewed the guy out told him to take the food back I wasn't paying for it and that they lost a very loyal customer for life! The fee isn't listed on there website or menu. It was fraud and if i'm charged I will pursue criminal actions against them. read more

It's my favorite restaurant in town. You can get good food with cheaper price and faster service. They offer a variety of choices, such as fried rice, lo mein, and sushi. My favorite food is chicken kabob. All combs come with salad and soda with no extra charge. I've been kept ordering their food for more than 5 years, and I'll continue to order. Tryyaki was OK. The portions are large- like two meals worthy, but the quality of food... well that's a different story. I ordered the honey chicken and it was more disappointing than getting an 89.99 with no rounding. The "sauce" was extremely watery and was virtually flavorless. This place is great for what it is; a simple, cheap, fast panasian fast food restuarant. Its nothing special or fancy, its just done well. I love the way they do their combos (usually getting a choice between california rolls or crab rangoon). All the Lo Mein noodles are big enough for 2 people. read more

I was pleasantly surprised when I first had TryYaki. It's super cheap, and gives you a lot of food for your money. You get a hefty portion of rice and your entree plus a side salad and a drink all for 5 bucks. The delivery is fast and friendly, as is the drive-thru. Tryyaki is a great place to get good quality food for a reasonable price. I've tried just about everything on the menu and my favorites are the Teriyaki Chicken and the Chicken Lo mein. The portions of food are huge and for the price that is awesome especially being a broke college student. They also have sushi which coming from a drive thru Chinese restaurant is better than I expected it to be. With that being said, if you're looking for high quality sushi I recommend going to an actual Sushi bar and getting it there instead of getting your sushi at Tryyaki, not liking it, and then complaining about it on Yelp because its not what you thought you wanted...For price, convenience, and taste the sushi is great but its sushi from a drive thru, simple as that. As far as consistency with the prices and quality of the food, I'd say 92% of the time I get what I expect. There were a few times when I came through the drive-thru when they were busy and my food was packed a little sloppy and I have gotten the wrong bag of food a couple times but what fast food restaurant hasn't switched up an order every now and again? The workers were really understanding, they apologized about the mix up and made sure i got the orders i paid for. For the most part their customer service is great. As for the prices on June 1st of 2014 they raised their prices (I asked as I'm sure others did as well) I wasn't upset about it, I mean Chipotle also raised their prices so, i figured it was going around. I also noticed that adding additional vegetables my meals were being charged and its 11 extra cents for more than 1 pair of chopsticks but really who cares? You can't expect things not included in your meal to be added for free! I mean McDonald s charges 22 cents for honey mustard, and Taco Johns charges70 cents for nacho cheese, nothing is free so why complain about it, its to be expected. Now deliveries, first its an awesome and smart idea with Lawrence being a college town. The minimum for delivery is $10 and I feel that is a reasonable price. The wait time is usually 30-45 minutes which is okay and the delivery drivers are nice. if you pay by card they hand you a receipt to sign and that's pretty much it. I have never had any problems with them taking extra money apart from what i tipped them and besides being unusually quiet they are super nice and respectful. Overall Tryyaki is great. The prices are reasonable and the food is good. Sometimes the wait in the drive-thru line can be long but deliveries and drive-thru orders are both being made so that's understandable. The workers at the window for the most part are nice, sometimes you can tell they have had a long shift but I know i can relate so no harm done. On Fridays and Saturdays they are open until 3 am which is freaking awesome, and all in all this is why they got 5 stars from me! read more

I ordered online from them tonight well over an hour or so ago and have not received my food at all. When I made my order, I realized that I did not have cash on me (the ATM nearby was out of order, preventing me from getting the cash I needed to pay the delivery man). With this being said, I called them and gave them my debit card information--to be specific, that includes the number on the card, the expiration date, and the security code. Overall, in conclusion, however you want to sum all of this up, they have my information and I don't have my food. Obviously, this is not a trustworthy place. I at least deserve a call from them apologizing for what they did. Don't order here if you don't want to waste your time and effort.
