Garlic beef not the name but what it is

The restaurant is modest and Un appointed but where the aesthetics and design lack the food and service make up for it. The food was fast, piping hot (on a chilly, rainy day) and quite tasty! Wait staff was friendly and the restaurant was good. Only 3 tables of patrons but a steady stream of take out was in and out the 45-1hour we were there.

Yellow curry seafood stir-fry - A black plastic takeout container holds a yellow curry seafood stir-fry with shrimp, potatoes, red peppers, green onions, and mushrooms in a yellow curry sauce. The dish is placed on a surface with a newspaper underneath, and a white plastic spoon is partially submerged in the food.

I was in town and was hungry for Thai food. I got the Yellow curry seafood stir-fry. It was delicious. Perfect amounts of salty, spicy, and savory. Highly recommend this dish. It was made well and authentically IMO from a Thai person myself.

Pad kee mao (drunken noodles) - The image shows a table at Thai Diner with a plate of stir-fried noodles and vegetables, including broccoli, bean sprouts, and carrots. A glass of water with ice, a cup of tea with lemon slices, and a glass of soda are also visible. The setting includes a napkin, spoon, and utensils, with a person partially visible in the background near a window.

Thai Diner is such a cozy and consistent res. Best drunken noodles I've had in a long time - added bean sprouts & got mild+ spice level. Even the mild has a bit of a kick!

Dining Area - A restaurant interior features a group of four people seated at a table, engaged in conversation. The room has wooden flooring, framed artwork on the walls, and several empty chairs arranged around the space. Vases with flowers are placed on the tables and along the wall, creating a simple, decorated dining environment.

Stopping at Lawrence to spend the night after the game and Chris and I are both starving. Lol. He asked me where/what I want for dinner. Of course. I have to open Yelp for help! Browsing through, I found several restaurants that we haven't tried, so I asked if he was down for Thai food. So off to Thai Diner we went. The place was bright and very clean. For starter, we shared a Green Papaya Salad with Beef which was spicy but it was so good I didn't want to put my chopsticks down! For the entrée, we had Pad Thai Gang Dang which was equally delicious with huge shrimps and Tom Yum Soup which was perfect for a cold winter night! Needless to say, we shall return!

Hot tea - A white ceramic cup containing tea is positioned on a matching saucer with a lemon wedge beside it. A metal spoon is inside the cup. Behind the cup, there is a tall glass of water with ice cubes, placed on a napkin. The setting appears to be on a dark-colored table, possibly in a restaurant or cafe environment.

I really like this Thai restaurant, probably the best Thai restaurant in Lawrence area. I love the pad Thai Gang Dang. It's different from the pad Thai at other Thai restaurants. The secret ingredient is they add peanut sauce to the pad Thai which gives it a more rich and creamy taste. I never had anything like it before and for me this is something unique and special about this place. For me to write this review 10 months later and still remember what I had truly says something. I would highly recommend trying the pad Thai Gang Dang.

Great food! Never a disappointment and the spice levels are nice. Hot is actually hot and thai hot is insanely spicy. Really recommend the drunken noodles and basil stir fry!

Two Thai spring rolls wrapped in rice paper with visible lettuce, herbs, and possibly shrimp or chicken, served in a foam takeout container. A small cup of dipping sauce, likely peanut or hoisin, accompanies the rolls. Some loose herbs and vegetable pieces are also present in the container.

I had reasonably high hopes for this restaurant given all the stars it had received. Unfortunately what little I ordered; shrimp spring rolls, was disappointing. The excess of saran wrap used for the take out order suggested that the rolls had been prepped and stored long before my order was placed. My hypothesis was strengthened as I bit into heavily cilantro'd slightly turned lettuce. The flavor was not bright, fresh and healthy tasting. Rather it was bland. Given that I only tasted one dish perhaps I simply made the wrong choice. Still after a few bites I elected to toss the rest.

"Full" portion of $16 chicken and broccoli; untouched. Pathetic! - A black plastic container filled with cooked chicken slices and broccoli florets in a light sauce is held by a person. The background shows a wooden floor, a small basket with a container and tissue, and part of a child's foot and leg. The setting appears to be indoors, possibly in a casual dining or home environment.

We came back for the Tiger Cry Beef, and we also had the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles). Both were delicious as always!

The Rangoon is amazing. I always get the Gapow or the Pad Thai, both are fantastic. Can't wait to eat here again!

Do not sleep on this place I feel like a lot of restaurants…read morenow are giving small portions of gross food, but this place is so good The food taste and quality is actually worth going inside and eating I am basic I love their sweet pork rice as hot as they can make it ( if it's called something else I'm sorry) The food is so flavorful and if you get spicy it's not obnoxious just trying to be as hot as possible, it blends with flavors and is a wonderful experience I never had bad service here they are so nice and patient It's one of my favorite spots in Topeka Love it

We ordered it Thai hot, and while I expected it to be extremely spicy, it was actually just right--though I can handle heat, so keep that in mind. We also tried the angel hair dish called Phad Woo Ten, and it was awesome. It's made with clear bean noodles and vegetables, giving it a sweet and spicy flavor that really worked well together. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We've been back twice now--once for lunch and once for dinner--and both experiences were great. The service has been consistently excellent. The ladies at the front desk are welcoming and make you feel comfortable right away. The restaurant itself is spacious and warm, which adds to the overall experience. It does get busy during both lunch and dinner, so if you're planning to dine in, it's best to arrive early. Otherwise, ordering online for takeout is a great option. We'll definitely continue coming back.

I've tried pho at several other places, even in Lawrence, and honestly... they didn't compare. This one blew them out of the water and reminded me of what I was used to back in Colorado. We also ordered a dish called backbaam (I may be misspelling it), and it was amazing. It had all the elements of Pad Thai--noodles, egg, cilantro, peanuts--with a sweet flavor and a spicy kick. I ordered it hot, and it was perfectly balanced. The noodles were cooked just right, not mushy at all. We also tried the red curry, which had the perfect amount of spice (I love heat, so if you can handle it, go for it). The rice was cooked to perfection and complemented the dish really well. The ambiance was just as impressive as the food. The restaurant was very clean, spacious, and welcoming. It would be a great spot for a date night or lunch date. The booths are wide and comfortable, and the warm lighting makes it feel cozy without being dark. We will definitely be coming back again!

If I'm to be honest, it felt like it would be expensive (it was not). Then, as I walked in, I realized the interior was even better. It is a "you have to see it to understand" type of experience. From the elegant dishes to the tables and chairs, everything fit together perfectly. It was exquisite. At this point some might say I am embellishing. They may point out nitpicked flaws. These people are those who think art must be perfect and forget nothing ever is. I digress, I'm sure you wish for me to get to food, service, and price. The food was amazing. I ordered the Tiger Cry Beef and the second the perfectly cooked, marinated, meat hit my tongue I wanted to weep. It was succulent, tender, and packed with flavor. The noodles (I had substituted) were cooked just right and the service was great. Everyone greeted me with respect and, dare I say, great cheer. They were professionally charming and warm. All of this felt as if I had found myself, quite by accident, in an upscale restaurant where every bite would cost me a fortune...yet that was not the case. The price, maybe slightly above average, was worth every penny I paid. From the beginning to the end it was an unexpected amazing experience. I recommend coming here, especially if you have a first date or anniversary. It was excellent.

The pad Thai noodles all stuck together and very little chicken for almost $20. The other dish had more meat (beef). But needed more veggies. Portions were fair, but won't be going to Pad Thai restaurant again with other better choices in the area. I'm
