My husband's favorite Thai place since he grew up in Leavenworth--we were in Weston for a weekend so drove the quick 15 min for dinner as most places are closed on Mondays in Weston. Portions are huge! I did not expect that when ordering my salad plus side of steam veg. Good flavors, a bit basic in seasoning, but good. Service was excellent and quick. About 1/3 of the place was full on a Monday night, so it was pretty busy! read more

This review is for lunch on a Monday in mid-March. service: Rusha did a great job taking care of us. food: We started with Larb Gai and it was excellent ($12 as of 03/2026). Note that the Larb comes with a side of rice. My wife had Tiger Cry Beef and thought it was OK ($9 as of 03/2026). I had Khao Soi with chicken and it was outstanding ($14 as of 03/2026). It's a red curry soup with egg noodles in the soup and crispy noodles on top. details: Open and airy inside, with booths along the walls and tables in the middle. The place was busy even for a Monday lunch. They have parking behind the restaurant and the entrance is adjacent to the parking lot. read more

Baan Thai Restaurant - Pad Thai and fried rice - Thai Near Me - Leavenworth, Kansas

When I went to school at Saint Mary this place was my spot! Not too pricey, more for your money, and excellent customer service! 10/10 would recommend to anyone! read more

We love Baan Thai!! They are FAST and so nice. We always get the pad thai, massaman curry and gyoza. We have also tried the chicken satay and crab rangoon and both are very good. We always order take out but would like to dine-in soon! read more

My husband loved it. He had the Dang Curry- I wasn't a big fan of the Green Curry , but everyone there was very friendly

"Sticky Seats & Meh Eats - Not Exactly Thai'd Over" I came in hungry and hopeful, armed with dreams of rich curry and wok-kissed noodles. I left with a mild case of disappointment... and possibly a layer of mystery-stickiness on my shoes. I ordered the Pad See Ew and Tom Kha soup, two of my go-to Thai comfort dishes. The Pad See Ew? Kinda sad see ew. Noodles were limp, sauce was forgettable, and the whole thing felt like it wanted to be bold but ended up just... beige. The Tom Kha had all the creamy coconut promise, but tasted like it missed a few key ingredients--and maybe a hug. Not the worst I've ever had, but certainly not a reason to come back. Now let's talk ambiance: hot, humid, and suspiciously sticky. Every surface, including the air, felt like it had been lightly coated in sweet chili glaze and never wiped down. The chairs were being held together with duct tape--literal tape--and the whole place gave off "last-minute garage sale" energy. Service? Not rude, but definitely not warm. It felt less like being served and more like interrupting someone's day. Quick, blunt, and not particularly welcoming. I wasn't expecting a five-star experience, but I'd at least like to feel like my presence wasn't a burden. Honestly, I've been to a lot of Thai spots, and this one just didn't hit. Based on the number of glowing reviews, maybe folks around here haven't had truly standout Thai food. Or maybe they're grading on a curve. Either way, I'm probably not coming back unless someone else is buying. read more

Slow service but great food. They only have a few workers working the front of the restaurant which makes service a little slow but food comes out fast. We had a party of six and everything we ordered was excellent. The slow service was well worth the wait for the delicious food! read more

We love this place but usually go to their other location in Manhattan. No matter though, service is always wonderful and we drive an hour from Topeka just for their peanut curry. You won't find anything else like it. Highly recommend. read more

Great service and delicious food. The restaurant is very clean, and the portions are generous, so keep that in mind when you visit. We definitely are going to visit this restaurant again! read more

Service was quick. Our waitress explained several dishes to us, describing the noodle and sauce combinations. The crazy noodles were awesome ! There was so much flavor (we got a level 4 spice). The veggies were plentiful and delicious! We also ordered the fried dumplings- they were great! Nice and crispy. read more

Great Thai food. Taste great but very small portions. Nice atmosphere. Enjoyed. Recommend

Very friendly. Great food. Decent ambiance. The crab rangoons were great! Comfy seating.

The restaurant has a cozy ambiance. The Pad Thai with chicken breast was too dry and tough, and it had a fishy taste. The portion size was large for the price. I honestly thought I could make a better one myself.it just wasn't good. The staff seemed more interested in chatting with each other than helping customers, and they weren't very friendly when taking orders or bringing out food. The Tom Yum soup was better than the Pad Thai, though. read more

Favorite Thai ever! I live in Kansas City, Mo and we have a few different options for Thai food close to the house and non of them come close to this place! The price, the quality, and the portions are unbeatable! I work in Leavenworth and I get this for take out to bring to my family almost once a week. Pad Thai with fried tofu and Pad Sea Ewe with beef are our favs. We've tried a few other items and loved them all as well. read more

We loved Baan Thai! We went for an early dinner and had a wonderful waitress. She was very attentive and they were already busy filling to go orders. I find this restaurant to be hit or miss with food and service. I've had great food and great service. Then I go back and no one speaks us for quite a while and the meals were not so good. I have been here several times, but not in a while. read more

Delicious! Server was happy to provide recommendations. I requested the red tofu curry hot and hot was it delicious! I also ordered a tofu basil fried rice- also hot. This was even spicier!! The only thing better than the food was the beautifully decorated restaurant which was well spaced with high ceilings. It was truly a full experience that I look forward to doing again! read more

We loved our experience and food. The decor is great. The appetizers were delicious. The duck was the best I ever had. The server was fun. Park around back. Go Baan! Go Leavenworth!! read more

We dined at Baan Thai in November while visiting Fort Leavenworth. There was an unexpected issue with one of our dishes that concerned us, and we asked our waitress to take a look. She brought it to the kitchen and later told us she had shown it to Aree Proctor, the owner, but that the owner was too busy to come speak with us. We chose not to escalate the matter during our visit and instead reached out privately afterward, expecting acknowledgment. Several months later, we have still received no response. While issues can happen anywhere, the lack of communication afterward is disappointing and worth noting. As a result, we won't be returning to what was once our favorite Leavenworth restaurant. read more

I had the pad see ew for dinner, followed by the mango sticky rice. The place is cute with a lot of Thai decor-so I'm guessing it's been here for a bit. My food was good, but maaaan-that mango sticky rice was raaaaad! Oh and it all came out fresh AND fast, which is typically sus but they obviously workin some kinda magic in that kitchen. Definitely the spot if you find yourself in downtown Leavenworth. read more

I've seen this location before, but I never stopped by to try the food. I decided to stop by and grab a bite on a late afternoon. Food 4/5: Pad Thai w/o Peanuts * The menu did not specify that it came with peanuts, but my girlfriend knew it did, and asked them to not add any. * The thai noodles have good flavors, however, I was not the biggest fan of the sweetness. * You get a large portion of thai noodles and I'm usually good at finishing all my food, but it was a struggle to eat all of it. If you don't eat all your food, you'll definitely have leftovers. Service 4/5 * I made the order to go and the host was nice and respectful which I appreciated. Ambiance 4/5 * When walking inside of the establishment, it was relatively quiet. There were a small amount of guests there, but it felt calming and relaxing. Overall 4/5 * The food was good, and recommend this location to everyone. I will be back to try the other food items on their menu. read more

The food was good and the service was great. The ambiance was very inviting, however, the lighting is dim, which makes it difficult to read the menu. But all in all a great place to dine. read more

Food is good but owner's attitude sucks. She is so disrespectful. Please be more kind and compassionate to civilians not just the military

Food was adequate. The spice levels were not accurate. The servers were so pushy and rushed our table to pack up and leave. Tried giving us the bill three times during the meal. Not sure I will return due to the staff rushing us through the meal. read more

Take out order for 6 people was excellent. Food was exactly as ordered and everyone raved about it. Will definitely be a repeat customer.

Great food portions and not too expensive. Good customer service as we ordered for pick up

Neat building. Very clean. Server was very chill, but did his job. The apps were 10/10. Crab Rangoon with a thin wonton was excellent. Wontons were wontons....always solid. The basil chicken was cooked to perfection, but could use a bit more flavor. The entrees were shrimp pad Thai, which needed a bit more spice and the pad see ew which was bland and the beef was tough.Thai tea was good. I'd come back just for apps. Prices were reasonable. read more

Excellent service, delicious food, big portions, and great prices. I've been here about four times and have never been disappointed. Once I asked for a to-go box, and then accidentally left my food in the restaurant, and the waitress ran out after me to give me my food! Going out of their way to give me the best experience! So thoughtful. read more

Went here for my first time on a lunch date with friends. The staff was very welcoming and our server took our drink orders right away. The Thai iced tea is so good! My friends and I each ordered two. We started off with the chicken satay appetizer which did not disappoint. The peanut sauce was very flavorful. I ordered the pumpkin curry which came with a big side of rice, this dish was packed with so much flavor and was absolutely delicious, I highly recommend! My friends ordered the Black Magic and the Crazy Noodle which were both really good as well. They're dishes are appropriately priced and you receive large portions, all of us ended up with leftovers to take home. read more

Valentines evening and it is so cold in the restaurant that every table has one or more guests wearing coats. We've asked two different servers if the heat could be turned up and we were never answered. It is very difficult to enjoy your meal with your hands too cold to grab a drink glass. Very disappointing! read more

I've come here several times once it was a hair in my food ....the service inside wasnt the best and one day I barely sat down and was issued my check like I was being rushed out so I stopped eating inside and began eating out. I just decided to give it another try today I was seated first and another group if people came after I had to wait was never helped and the white fanily was helped before me I the only thing I can think of that Im black I was here first but never asked my drink or anything and a white guy seated the white people after and helped them firsr when I came inside first its so unprofessional and I do not appreciate discrimination it's no explanation at all so I left I will no longer give my buisness here it makes sense why I was rushed out as soon as I sat down before because no Black people eat inside Im from out of state this town itself is racist sad you go into a buisness Im treated like its still slavery!! read more

Was on an office trip with fellow coworkers and walked here as it was close to our hotel. It was a really chilly and rainy day. Walking in we were greeted quickly as well as easily seated. Ordered the green tea which was very tasteful which is not normal for the average green tea. The food was good and spicy with a decent amount of flavor. The only real negatives was the food was lukewarm and seating was good for a party of more than 4. read more

Thai food is actually one of the few comfort foods that I can actually eat, especially in a restaurant, so I've been trying every Thai place in my area and throughout the region and in my opinion, Bain Thai is the winner. The service was wonderful., from the water glass being continually full to the quick ordering. The young man that waited on us was extremely attentive and helped us make some excellent picks. The lady who filled our glasses turned out to be the owner....that's what I call hands on! The venue was extremely clean and they took extra measures for Covid protocols. This makes me happy, because so many places seem to think that cleanliness is an option. The ambience is great, so it's good for eitherlarge groups or intimate dinners with that special someone. The waiter explained that the first owner of the building dumped a ton of money into the building, then went out of business, the owners of Baan Thai added some Asian art and called it good. It's reminiscent of the French Quarter, to put it best. The food was delicious and they have lots of healthy stuff there. Even the buffet line is fresh. And the Thai ;) breaker went to Baan Thai with their great peanut sauce. Give them a try, you won't be sorry. read more
