Note that the Larb comes with a side of rice. My wife had Tiger Cry Beef and thought it was OK ($9 as of 03/2026). I had Khao Soi with chicken and it was outstanding ($14 as of 03/2026). It's a red curry soup with egg noodles in the soup and crispy noodles on top. details: Open and airy inside, with booths along the walls and tables in the middle. My husband's favorite Thai place since he grew up in Leavenworth--we were in Weston for a weekend so drove the quick 15 min for dinner as most places are closed on Mondays in Weston. Portions are huge! I did not expect that when ordering my salad plus side of steam veg. Good flavors, a bit basic in seasoning, but good. Service was excellent and quick. "Sticky Seats & Meh Eats - Not Exactly Thai'd Over" I came in hungry and hopeful, armed with dreams of rich curry and wok-kissed noodles. I left with a mild case of disappointment... and possibly a layer of mystery-stickiness on my shoes. I ordered the Pad See Ew and Tom Kha soup, two of my go-to Thai comfort dishes. The Pad See Ew? Kinda sad see ew. Noodles were limp, sauce was forgettable, and the whole thing felt like it wanted to be bold but ended up just... beige. The Tom Kha had all the creamy coconut promise, but tasted like it missed a few key ingredients--and maybe a hug. Not the worst I've ever had, but certainly not a reason to come back. Now let's talk ambiance: hot, humid, and suspiciously sticky. Every surface, including the air, felt like it had been lightly coated in sweet chili glaze and never wiped down. The chairs were being held together with duct tape--literal tape--and the whole place gave off "last-minute garage sale" energy. Service? Not rude, but definitely not warm. It felt less like being served and more like interrupting someone's day. Quick, blunt, and not particularly welcoming. I wasn't expecting a five-star experience, but I'd at least like to feel like my presence wasn't a burden. Honestly, I've been to a lot of Thai spots, and this one just didn't hit. Based on the number of glowing reviews, maybe folks around here haven't had truly standout Thai food. Or maybe they're grading on a curve. I honestly thought I could make a better one myself.it just wasn't good. We dined at Baan Thai in November while visiting Fort Leavenworth. There was an unexpected issue with one of our dishes that concerned us, and we asked our waitress to take a look. She brought it to the kitchen and later told us she had shown it to Aree Proctor, the owner, but that the owner was too busy to come speak with us. We chose not to escalate the matter during our visit and instead reached out privately afterward, expecting acknowledgment. Several months later, we have still received no response. While issues can happen anywhere, the lack of communication afterward is disappointing and worth noting. As a result, we won't be returning to what was once our favorite Leavenworth restaurant. read more

Food 4/5: Pad Thai w/o Peanuts * The menu did not specify that it came with peanuts, but my girlfriend knew it did, and asked them to not add any. * The thai noodles have good flavors, however, I was not the biggest fan of the sweetness. * You get a large portion of thai noodles and I'm usually good at finishing all my food, but it was a struggle to eat all of it. If you don't eat all your food, you'll definitely have leftovers. Service 4/5 * I made the order to go and the host was nice and respectful which I appreciated. Ambiance 4/5 * When walking inside of the establishment, it was relatively quiet. There were a small amount of guests there, but it felt calming and relaxing. My friends and I each ordered two. We started off with the chicken satay appetizer which did not disappoint. The peanut sauce was very flavorful. I ordered the pumpkin curry which came with a big side of rice, this dish was packed with so much flavor and was absolutely delicious, I highly recommend! My friends ordered the Black Magic and the Crazy Noodle which were both really good as well. Thai food is actually one of the few comfort foods that I can actually eat, especially in a restaurant, so I've been trying every Thai place in my area and throughout the region and in my opinion, Bain Thai is the winner. The service was wonderful., from the water glass being continually full to the quick ordering. The young man that waited on us was extremely attentive and helped us make some excellent picks. The lady who filled our glasses turned out to be the owner....that's what I call hands on! The venue was extremely clean and they took extra measures for Covid protocols. This makes me happy, because so many places seem to think that cleanliness is an option. The ambience is great, so it's good for eitherlarge groups or intimate dinners with that special someone. The waiter explained that the first owner of the building dumped a ton of money into the building, then went out of business, the owners of Baan Thai added some Asian art and called it good. It's reminiscent of the French Quarter, to put it best. The food was delicious and they have lots of healthy stuff there. Even the buffet line is fresh.
