A Meat Borek

After a great visit with our daughter we had dinner at Truva. We secured a reservation weeks in advance. The inside is decorated beautifully and the staff were so kind and welcoming. We started off with a few appetizers for the table. They provide bread and a delicious oil and tomato dipping sauce. My husband had Turkish pizza and my daughter and I had chicken kabob. Everything was delicious and fresh. We managed to leave enough room for baklava at the end. The service was excellent!

First off- the bread and dipping sauce is outstanding and I can swim in this sauce. Grabbed the appetizer sampler, which had a great variety things to try. Dinner was delicious and portions were hearty which meant we could experience the food again the next day (still good!). The space is big and open, service was friendly and very helpful with discussing options. Excited to visit again.

We came to Truva for a family dinner over the holidays. They were able to fit 14 of us comfortably and we went home stuffed! The restaurant had a nice quiet dinner ambiance-- comfortable and upscale without being stuffy. The food had great flavor, portions were generous and everything well cooked. We loved the mezze (baba ganoush was delicious) and chefs platters. The steak in particular was perfectly cooked and seasoned. For dessert my favorite was the Kunefe which you don't find everywhere! Our server Hassan was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Overall great experience and would recommend.

I came here for lamb chops for my birthday and it was a great time! The food was amazing! The lamb was cooked perfectly! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful! Amazing customer service! I really enjoyed my time here! I can't wait to come back soon because I really enjoyed my food! They have lots of open seating and a large variety of food options!

Appetizer Sampler (For Two People)

My 2 sons brought me here for Mother's Day. We were seated immediately & our friendly server brought us a carafe of cold water. The ambiance is nice but the tables are a bit too close together for my taste. We ordered the Appetizer Sampler for 2, the Chef's Mixed Grill for 2 and Cabbage Rolls. We loved the appetizer, especially the hummus. We also enjoyed the mixed grill but it would have been nice to have a serving fork for that platter. None of us cared for the cabbage rolls. They tasted HEAVY on the oregano which overtook any other flavors. All in all, it was a pleasant experience.

Grilled Fillet of Salmon - great

The service was really friendly. The ambiance is nice and tables were clean. The table ordered salmon, chicken adana and doner kebab. All were delicious! The table bread was good too. Oh and the pistachio and walnut baklava were both really good. For the price, I wouldn't really call them upscale. It was very reasonable for the size of the dishes (all under $30 per person). Nothing bad to say about it and we look forward to going back.

I thought this place was good. It's just a high end Mediterranean spot. I got the salmon dinner with a lamb kebab on the side but they mistakenly just gave me the meal. The service all together was great and server was attentive. The ambiance was also nice.

The hummus is amazing. You can taste the freshness. The bread it was paired with was delicious. They bake the bread there and it's served hot and crispy. I ordered the cokertme kebab. The beef was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The crispy potatoes were nice but got soggy in the sauce. We also got the Shepard casserole. This was lamb with rice. My friend enjoyed it. However I found the lamb a little overcooked. For dessert we got the baklava and rice pudding. Both were really good. The rice pudding had a nice char on it. The restaurant was nice and cocky. Comfortable seating. Our server was amazing. Went out of his way to make sure we had an enjoyable experience.

Very delicious place, The platter for 2 was perfect (we took some home too). There was various meat on the board and we got to try all of them and came with rice and taziki. We also had the baklava which was amazing too nice and warm. Service was great too, ambiance is very intimate

Chocolate baklava, delicious

Probably my new favorite restaurant, definitely my fave Turkish spot. Hubs and I both ordered the lunch special which is 3 courses including dessert. He ordered the hummus appetizer, Doner kebab which is beef with rice and a salad. All delicious. I ordered the lamb kebab with the $17.99 3-course lunch special which is +$7 extra for the lamb. Definitely worth it. The lamb was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The bulgur pilaf was excellent and I prefer that over white rice. My appetizer was lentil soup and it was thick and tasty. Great flavor and piping hot. We both had the chocolate baklava for dessert and it was fabulous. I wasn't thrilled about the thought of chocolate mixed in baklava but it was a nice addition and not overly sweet or chocolately. Just right. Service was excellent. Will be back.

Truva Turkish Kitchen was OK, but I'm not sure we gave the food a fair shake. We arrived for lunch at Noon on a Wednesday. The place was not crowed; the seating was comfortable. The vibe was nice. The wait staff was pretty attentive. I'd reviewed the menu over and over before getting to the restaurant. There were many things I wanted to try, none of which were on the lunch menu. Not to worry, the full menu was available. That said, I was drawn to their lunch special which offers three courses of limited selections for a very reasonable price. This is where I landed. Bread and red colored dipping oil was brought to the table. The bread was dense and the dipping oil didn't provide a distinct flavor. It was okay. For my first course I opted for babaganoush. This was a dish I planned to order and I was pleased it was an option. I ate it with the bread and it was very good. Fresh, chunky and tangy... it was a great start to my lunch. My second course was the Doner Kebab. The meat was tender and was served with a thick, white 'sauce'. I use the word sauce lightly because it was more of a paste. Whatever it was, it was a nice complemented to the lamb and beef. The white rice was white rice. It seemed out of place, though I included some with each bite. I didn't add anything to the flavor of the dish. The small salad was forgettable. The third course was dessert. We all wondered what it would be. It was rice pudding with a thick skin on the top, so it didn't seem super fresh. That said, it had a fine, not too sweet flavor. I would come back and order all the things that captured my attention while reviewing the menu prior to lunch. If that happens, I'll provide an updated review.

This was my first time trying Turkish cuisine. The food wash delicious- I got the chicken kebab and it was very flavorful, tender, and the leftovers even reheated nicely. They also serve pita with sun-dried tomato & some sort of olives oil while you wait for your order. The waiter was hilarious and accommodating to our party of 4. The decor was also beautiful and chairs comfortable, making it nice to have a little gathering with people you haven't seen in a while.

What we couldn't finish (as usual,I forgot to take a picture on arrival.)
Lynn H.

Delicious. My second visit here. The first time three of us had appetizers and could barely finish. This time we had the "mixed grill for two" and didn't come close to finishing. (By the way, their Gin Basil Smash is amazing.). Great service, great food. My only knock is that it's a noisy restaurant.

Our server was very kind, and he explained that the chefs are the owners, and they are in the kitchen every single night. This is their passion project, focusing on super fresh ingredients, and you can absolutely tell. We started with the bread service, which was delicious. It was covered in seeds and spices, giving it an extra punch of flavor. We then moved on to the cheese saganaki and fried feta, which was my favorite bite of the night! For mains, we got both branzinos. The filet came on a bed of rice and spinach flavored with spices. The filet was perfectly crispy. The whole branzino was also delicious, but just watch out for bones! We were pleasantly stuffed so we didn't try dessert this time, but we'll be back soon!

Also there were no paper towels in one of the restrooms. Unfortunately, the food wasn't to my taste. It may be that I LOVE Mediterranean food ( Armenian/Persian) but not Greek food. The olives were too salty for me and the feta-filled phyllo appetizer felt too heavy. The octopus was beautifully presented but not for me. The chicken was fine, though nothing special. I'm more accustomed to Armenian and Persian food, so personal preferences certainly played a part. Our server was attentive and enthusiastic. I would have appreciated being asked about our tastes before receiving recommendations based on what was popular. Overall, I appreciated the the service and setting, but dinner was disappointing to me personally.

First, I have not been to Abigail street in two years, because I now live in Maine. Every time I…read morereturn to Cincinnati I go to Abigail street, EVERY TIME. Heck, my wife was there in June and had the nerve to send me pictures of each course, but I digress. So why write this review now, well let me tell you. I just got back from a trip to Scotland and we went to what was supposedly the best Tapas place in Edinburgh, and it was not even close to Abigail street. So, rather than write a scathing review for that place, I figured I would come on and write this review instead. Food: 7/5 (I know, more than 100%). The reason, the food is beyond exceptional, but the pacing of the meal is great. We usually order 6-7 dishes (always finish with the ricotta and honey) and they will come out one or two at a time. You get to savor each dish, and then laugh and talk with your party about how good that course was and then BOOM, more amazing food arrives. Service: 5/5 - never had a bad thing at all. Watched them handle some very difficult circumstances with some very entitled people with such grace and professionalism. Also, they are so knowledgable, but more than that, they are not afraid to not know something. They work as a team. If one of the staff knows the wines better, they will answer wine questions. It is a rarity to find a staff at a restaurant that truly works as a team like that. Atmosphere: 5/5 - from the second you walk in, relaxed, calm, comfortable. The whole establishment welcomes you in, exuding confidence in the culinary adventure you are about to experience. Drinks: 5/5 - the cocktails may be a 6/5. The wines are delicious. Consistency: 5/5 - every time I go it is an incredible experience. Value: 5/5 - be ready to drop some money, but also know that that it will be so worth it.

We were able to score bar seats without a reservation and had a nice time here. Parking - we ubered here, it looks like they had street parking but that might have been more tricky. We tried: Octopus - great, a tad salty Gambas - my husband enjoyed this Salmon - I especially liked the crunchy chickpeas Chenin Blanc Normandia White Blend Neon Lights (cocktail) - not my favorite Rosé - amazing, a great porch pounder.
