I hired these guys through Thumbtack and was disappointed in the end result... but when I reached out to them because of dissatisfaction with edging, paint on the ceiling, paint on my light fixtures, and paint on my backsplash and tile, I received a defensive response from the company - and that was followed by middle of the night text messages from the painter defending himself, telling me I cost him his job, begging for me to change the review, etc. Their second response to me providing photographs of what I was dissatisfied with was and l offer to come back and fix things, but, I was soured by their first response claiming that despite working on multimillion dollar houses and a claim by the painter that he did a good job. If the customer isn't satisfied, fix it, and you won't have to defend yourself... but defend yourself first, and you lose a customer. Months later, these people have had the gall to call my completely fair review of the poor job they did at my house as "slanderous", called my wife a liar, and would rather fight with customers than own up to their shortcomings. That's what you get when you work with them, apparently, but I have the pictures and the quote they have BEFORE doing the work to challenge all their BS. Not worth your time, or money. Marc was very skillful and knowledgeable about what he was doing. We felt like we were in good hands. He knows a lot about carpentry and made some great suggestions for how to shape our stair railing to match the existing one. I would agree with a previous comment that he did seem a bit disorganized, and it did take a while to schedule him to come out to do the work, but this is a logistics issue and not a quality issue. AMAZING! I just rented a rowhome in Chicago, and arrived to find black mold all over the master shower. I called the landlord and he agreed to remediate the situation, and a guy from Trusty Craftsman arrived. First, he arrived in a nice car and was dressed professionally. I am always leery of having people in my home, and first impressions matter. His first impression was great. He reviewed the shower and explained in detail what he was going to do, which I appreciated. When he was done, he explained to me what he did, and it looked fantastic. We also had a nice conversation where he was polite and interesting. His work was terrific, and he seemed trustworthy. I would definitely recommend them and they would be my first call for my future needs. read more

We Haven't done much work before now so don't know what people typically charge for handyman services. He was here for almost 2 full days (took a lunch break) and his costs included the paint, caulk and any supplies he needed (except for lights that I bought). Hands down the best experience I have ever had with a handyman company. I've been ripped off with other so-called handymen companies that arrive to do the job and take the entire day (wasting my money) learning how to do the job. Stay away from Marc n this company. Terrible services, unreliable, unprofessional, not trustworthy n threatened customer for writing bad review. It was very hard to communicate with Marc because he doesn't answer phone n can't leave messages on voicemail. Marc finally gave me a great quote by just looking over some photos I sent him per his request n said job will b done in 1-2days so I booked him for my house painting n patching holes job. I had an appointment with Marc at 9am n he did not show up until 2:30pm. The whole time i was waiting I tried calling n texting him to see why he was so late n he finally answered saying he's sick on the road n had to pulled over to an urgent care. I was mad because he could've told me that n we could've rescheduled instead of making me wait. I decided to cancel the job bcuz he was unreliable to which he apologized frantically n promised me he would still come n will complete the job in 1-2 days or otherwise it's free. I felt bad for the guy n gave him a 2nd chance. He finally showed up at 2:30pm. We went over which wall will need to b painted completely n which just need to be patched up. I had some major holes n patching job that need to b fixed n did requested him to cut out part of the wall n use new dry wall to fix which he declined n reassured me he can do a better job using "the right material" n his way. We agreed on the quote. On the day of the job, again he showed up 1hour late n his excuse was he was trying to get my paint mixed right at the store. He showed up by himself, no crew n reassured me that he will get things done within that day bcuz there was "not that much to do". He went to work from 10am-6pm. I was deeply regret with my decision of hiring him. He did not cover any of my things nor open the windows. There were dust everywhere from him sanding the walls. He used my nice plastic container to hold his painting stuff that I saved to pack my personal clothings that he did not ask me to use. He kept saying his job is 95% done and I had to show him a lot holes he missed patching. It was dark by then n paint needed to dry still. He told me he will come back the next day Saturday to finish up with only 2-3hours left of work. Again the next day he texted me at the last min n told me his other client had an emergency so he had to work on that n Sunday he has to go to a funeral so he can't come back until Monday to work on my house. I can see the horrible job that had been done with am light. One of the creamy paint does not match well so I can see all of his brushes everywhere from cutting work short. I told him he got a lot more work than he thought n I would like him to bring his crew on Monday to make sure job will b done on time. On Monday he showed up again by himself stating his crew has other work to do n he would finish the job fine by himself. He worked from 9am-6pm again n still missed a lot of cracks in walls n one of the hole I had him fix it was a hole through the wall on both sides n he only fixed one side n not the other because he didn't see it. He did not paint the tall stairway wall bcuz he "couldn't reach that high" n I had to remind him to use the ladder that he brought so he only could paint the wall half way. And the closet patching work was still bad n his reasoning does not make any sense. By now he ran out of patching material n paint n time n now scrambling to cover things up. He had me change my light bulb in closet to make the lighting better to cover his unprofessional work, a plastic socket covering to cover the other large hole he couldn't fix. He forgot to paint my front door. He went at last min to buy paint for the door which was supposed to b brown n came back with light gray bcuz lady at Home Depot told him this was a better color. He used another container of mine without asking to mix his paint n later on left a trail of paint on my wood floor n I had to throw away my bin that I saved for my personal things. He told me he will come back n repaint my door n of course he didn't. After all of that, 1 of my brand new suitcases went missing. I really regret hiring Marc bcuz he's not reliable n his work is not professional nor experienced at all After reading my bad review online, Marc threatened to come after me with lawyers n contact immigration n child services on me n posting pics of my house before he fixed it online so I can't sell it. This is the headache I still have to deal with now? He stated he will also have Google take down my review. You couldn't ask for better service -I called on a weekday evening to ask about installing two window AC units and received a response that night with available times for the next morning. Marc was great and very personable. He explained everything he was doing and took the time to explain how the units worked and how to remove and clean the AC filters.
