This place is soooo good! We were just driving by looking for somewhere to have a drink and a snack and I have now found my new favorite restaurant. The prices are fair for tapas and the food is excellent. The tuna tar tar is definitely my favorite. So much tuna and avocado! And they have my favorite beer, Mission Hefeweizen, on tap which is very rare to find. I can't wait to go back and try everything else on the menu. read more

Since I live very close to this new restaurant I wanted to give it a try. It looked very charming even tho it is in a strip mall type setting. We went in and were cordially welcomed. Our young lady waiter was super nice and told us the specials and her recommendations. We had the stuffed mushroom and they were a 10+++. Just delicious. Then we got the phyllo dough stuffed with spinach and cheese. I Liked them but my companion says too much spinach in them lol. But he doesn't like vegetables so that may have biased him. I got the chicken Kabobs with veggies for my entree and he got the Marsala sauce bow tie pasta. Mine was really good but one bite of his pasta and I was jealous. It was soooo good. Chicken, mushrooms, pasta in this yummy wine sauce. No dessert as we were too full. We hope this cute little cozy bistro makes it here in Orange. Pls try it you won't be disappointed. read more

Not enough stars. My wife and I love this place. It has such a cool relaxed atmosphere. We have tried most of the small plates. Cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and beet salad are some of our favorite veggies. Truffle fries too. I like the meatballs and usually order the evening's special. Tonight it was the Spanish chorizo with grilled croutons and grapes. So good. My wife loves the muscles and clams in the white broth. My all time favorite dish is Jason's Sardines. Not just because of the name but because they are one of the most delicious sea food dishes I've ever had. Love them! Henry is great. He stocks some nice tap beers and wines. The best desert is the homemade Tiramisu. You need to try this place. You'll love it! read more

Truly enjoyed our first experience at Truffle Bistro. Went early on Sunday evening and had great service and food. We ordered mostly tappas style for the table with one entree as well. Stuffed mushrooms were a table favorite, as were the butternut squash ravioli and the caprese salad. My suggestion: DON'T FORGET THE DESSERTS!! The cheesecake rocked! and the lemoncielo (sp?) cake was pretty great as well. I'm only bummed we didn't order the canoli. We will definitely be going back and likely on a regular basis. read more

Great find in the Orange area along Tustin Ave. Wonderfully prepared tapa's at reasonable prices. Out door seating in a patio like ambience considering its a sidewalk conversion that opens to the indoor dining area. Quality of food prep is very high to match the flavor profiles that are mesmerizing. They have a wine list to match that are carefully selected for personal pairings. My husband found this place on yelp and we decided to check it out cause reviews were great. We had the stuffed mushrooms, Cajun artichoke, meat & cheese platter, 3 musketeers platter, lamb chop and meatballs, and Brussel sprouts. Had a few glasses of wine and then dark Forrest cake for dessert. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING. Our waiter was joe and he was very nice. The owner came out and talked to the tables which was cool. I can't wait to go back and try more food there! The tiramisu is made by the chef/owner; unfortunately they didn't have any but he said he makes it twice a week, but by Saturday it's sold. He said the best day to come for it is Tuesday so we'll be going back to try some of that! The place is small but cute and the atmosphere is quite relaxing. But honestly the food is just so great and we'll probably come back more and more because it was just so good. Didn't have to wait long for food even though it was only the owner cooking by himself. Excellent food and service. We had Kitana as our server and she was wonderful with suggestions and just being kind. She recommended the oxtail, and butternut squash ravioli tapas. Wow we're they great. For entree, I had the lamb shank and my wife had the chicken picatta. We met the chef Henry and enjoyed some of his delicious Tiramisu for dessert. I wasn't super impressed with Truffle Bistro, but it was decent and I'd go back to try some of the other menu items. The space is very cramped and hard to move around in, but this is because they were very busy. My group's round of appetizers were mainly great. I enjoyed all that I tried, the chorizo meatballs being my favorite. When it came time for my main course of salmon, I did feel unimpressed with it's preparation and taste. It was relatively flavorless, but the side vegetables were pretty good. In regard to drinks, they have a wide selection from many different parts of the world. read more

We just finished up an excellent dinner at one of my new favorite places. It was my first time at this restaurant, and I went into it not even knowing what tapas is. Seating was immediate, the staff were quick and comprehensive, and the atmosphere is just fun. We started out ordering some tapas dishes, all of which were excellent. The owner was walking the tables during the meal, striking up conversation and really giving the place a family feel. I haven't even gotten to out server, Tony, who by even the most modest of terms, was excellent. His service, presentation, and energy is rarely matched in his profession, especially considering he was handling two other tables on his own (one of which was a relatively large birthday party). Please try this place. They seemed to be relatively new and are still in the process of filling their bar, but it is definitely worth the stop. read more

I would give this a 5 star cuz the food was AMAZING ! But I think the waitress forgot about our food. The tapas came right away but the main dishes were very late. Really enjoy dining at Truffle Bistro, this place has an amazing menu. My favorite are the tapas. Small plates to share but some have really nice portions! Just had an amazing meal at Truffle Bistro! Our first time here. Everything we tried was delicious. Shared tapas and an entree with my hubby. The Mia Bella entree was so good paired with the Raymond Chardonnay. You must try the tiramisu for dessert! Paired with Prosecco and it was delish! Met the owner and chef. Thanks so much to Henry for squeezing our "Yelp reservation" to the actual schedule maintained by the restaurant. Due to change of weekend schedule, we decided to stop by OC before heading to SD County to try to make our original Mother's Day reservation with a restaurant there. Soon after I made the online reservation via Yelp this morning, Henry contacted me about some mistakes in his restaurant's connection with Yelp which led to Yelp not having the up-to-date reservation availability, which prevented him from being able to put us in the original time slot. However, he worked his best to squeeze us into a schedule 45 minutes after our originally "reserved" time. We appreciated his effort and made it there on time. We enjoyed our food, including the ribeye steak, seafood stew, seafood pasta, and the chocolate dome dessert. Everything was delicious. The only "regret", which is minor, was not being able to order the lamb rack as we were told they were running out of it. We'll make sure we'll stop by again to try the lamb rack when we'll be in the area again. read more

Always happy to support a local business, but after five visits, have decided it is just mediocre. Menu and concept is very promising with a wide variety of dishes that are definitely in my wheelhouse, but the execution is somewhat lacking. The food is ok, but there have been definite misses. Paella has been soupy, lamb burnt on outside but way too raw in inside. Quality needs to match the price. On top of that, service is always indifferent and almost haughty, as if they feel they are too good for the area. Most recently we did a pick up during these strange times; seemed slow, we were pretty much the only ones there while the Wingferno next door was hopping, and they pretty much threw the food at us ($180 worth of food mind you) and again, it turned out bland and definitely not worth the price. The owner was almost scowling at us. Yes, times are tough and we should all be trying to help each other out, but a little smile and some graciousness never hurts. read more

Truffle bistro is one of those gems, that are easy to drive by a million times, and miss. It's located in a center between a planet fitness and a dollar tree. When I walked in, I was transported to a cozy, charming little nook, that felt like a hip LA eatery. The menu is tapas, or full plates. The tapas are perfect sharing size. We ordered the duck breast, which was slightly cook more than I prefer, thought the sauce was delectable. The gnocchi was perfect, not too rich, and has a nice bite. My favorite dish was the Gambas Al Ajillo, which is Spanish shrimp in an AMAZING garlic and Spanish brandy sauce, it did not come with garlic bread, so I had to order that to accompany it. We also ordered a beet salad that was made in the most perfect sauce. For dessert we had a chocolate covered cake, with Bavarian cream. If you like hidden gems, with unique dishes, smooth music, romantic ambiance, and a good wine list, you will love Truffle Bistro. I cannot forget to mention the truly amazing service. So I grew up in Orange and still work in the area but commute to Riverside County now. Occasionally I stop by a restaurant in Orange that I had been to since childhood. Alas it was closed this Monday so I spied this little bistro right next door and thought if they've got wine I'm in. What a pleasant surprise, a real gem!
