I went here for happy hour recently. We ordered sangria and the house white wine. The sangria was very fruity and sweet. We had our drinks with an order of calamari. It was freshly fried with pepperoncinis. I've never had them this way and it was so good. The combination of chewy calamari with the acid from the pepperoncinis tasted perfectly together. My only qualm about the place is the happy hour price. Drinks and food were only a 1 dollar off. It really is not much of a discount for a pricier restaurant. Although the happy hour was disappointing, I'm willing to give the place another try. This time it will be for dinner. read more

Excellent food and service! Brussel sprouts, oxtail and garlic bread were exceptional.

This is a hidden gem! Delicious food, attentive service and good prices. We tried the mussels and clams, fried cauliflower, margarita pizza and a few other tapas-style dishes. Everything was excellent. Just as good was the service--our waiter was polite, knowledgeable and right there whenever we needed him. We met the owner also-he was welcoming and made us feel right at home. We will definitely be back! I highly recommend this place! read more

Delicious! We had a great time. We had front row seats to our food being made. Great wine too.

I absolutely love this place! The food is always delicious and the service is always quick and friendly. My boyfriend and I have been coming in here for a few months now and we have never been disappointed. In fact, it has become one of our favorite places to dine. Last weekend 1/13/18 I was excited to try this place as I love giving local places serving non-traditional fare a shot. My girlfriend and I decided to give it a shot without first having a reservation. We walked in the door and there were a couple of open tables and several open seats at the bar. We waited a couple of minutes for someone to welcome us or say "Hi!". Nothing. No one was in line in front of us. Waited 10-12 more minutes...nothing. Someone called the restaurant and one of the servers ran to the phone which is right next to the front door...he picked up the phone and then turned his back to us while chatting (still, no one else was in line.) After a quick phone call he went back to running around the open kitchen. Keep in mind that since they hadn't even greeted us yet, they didn't even know that we didn't have a reservation! While I thought it was actually pretty funny at that point, my girlfriend felt disrespected so we just left. We ended up going to a great Mexican food place in Garden Grove as that was our second choice for the night and had a great time. I hope this place improves to become better than our first experience as I'd like to give them another chance at some point as maybe they were just finding their groove still since they're new. read more

Tonight was my first time at Truffle Bistro and I was definitely impressed. They specialize in tapas so my friend and I shared the Albondigas, Gnocchi, Fried Cauliflower, and a bruschetta-like tapas with goat cheese. Each one was delicious and perfectly prepared. I can't wait to go back! read more

We're talking legit, top of the line cuisine. Highly recommend this place for any occasion! Dine in or take out. Cuz of the restrictions, we were forced to take out. Had a pretty large order. All food was cooked to perfection and off the grill/oven just as ordered ~ so it was still hot when we ate. Will definitely be dining there when we can. read more

The food is great! We always enjoy our meal and evening out when we go here. The atmosphere is so friendly!

I would of loved to have given better review. The food was delicious with a great wine selection, but one server in particular was rude and lacked any customer service skills whatsoever. I called the restaurant for reservations and was informed they don't take any. I proceeded to ask if they could accommodate a party of 6 for a birthday dinner. He asked for what time? I said 8:30pm he said "Oh yeah that won't be a problem." Yes it was since the kitchen closed at 9pm. We arrived and it was still fairly packed so we waited about 15 min for a table to be set up. We were seated and a delightful waitress named Daisy greeted us and asked us what we would like for drinks? We're torn between two different bottles of wine and we asked for her suggestion. She informed us if there were open bottles we should be able to taste each one. The next thing we know a young waiter approached us in a haughty voice and tells us we can't try wines. The wine list we were looking at is sold by the bottle and walks off. Well duh! That's why we were looking that particular list! We decided to order a bunch of tapas roasted cauliflower, roasted Brussel Sprouts, tuna tartar, truffle fries, mussels & clams, fried calamari, Gary's stuffed mushrooms. I need to add we weren't given any plates until the last few tapas were served. As we were eating we decided to order a pasta dish the birthday boy wanted. The same rude waiter walks up to tell us the kitchen is closing as this will be the last order. So we're trying decide if we should get the pizza or the Spanakopita. We ask him for a suggestion and he answers with "do you want the Spanakopita as a tapas or as an entree?" We ask is it big enough to share along with the pasta? He says yes. We get the food and it obvious the Spanakopita is a tapas and no the pasta isn't big enough to share. I honestly feel like he rushed us, he approached us from the beginning with a bad attitude and he didn't bother to listen to give us the proper answers. Like I mentioned the food was good, but it could of been stellar if it weren't for the bad waiter. A great night dining out for a special occasion encompasses good food, good drinks, good ambience, and most importantly excellent service. This place lacks the latter part and I strongly suggest to inform people before they come for a birthday dinner that your kitchen closes at 9 and to not come with a party of 6 at 8:30 especially when you don't take reservations. Also your waiter needs a refresher course in customer service. His attitude was one of worst I've ever encountered. Update: Henry thank you for your response. Like I mentioned your food and wine selection was great! We look forward to trying the rest of your menu. Unfortunately since I posted my review. I've gotten messages and compliments that have personally insulted me. I truly hope these people are not associated with your restaurant. read more

Truffle Bistro - Another message from this crazy person this time to my daughter. Yelp this is ridiculous!!! - Italian Near Me - Orange, California

Super packed for a Thursday night but our party of 4 never felt as if we weren't getting attention. Everyone was so attentive. The ambience was great and the food was delicious. Tried the lamb empanadas for the first time and it was fantastic! The chicken wings are a favorite as well as the salmone carpaccio. Truffle fries, calamari and spanakopita were great too. Topped off the evening with some tiramisu and port. Chef Henry is so attentive to his guests with his easy smile and always with a warm welcome. Thank you also to the two Antonio's (Tony and Tony 2) who took such good care of us! If you haven't gone to check out this place......GO!! read more

I would like to send a warm welcome to my new friends at Truffle Bistro. Holy crap. This food is awesome. The lamb empanadas (9 bucks) and the charcuterie plate (12 bucks and HUGE) alone make an awesome meal. My wife LOVED the Polo Picata. The kitchen is right up front. The owner and chef Henry is on the far left side of the bar. He is there. Go talk to him. He is a nice guy. He will make your food desires his priority. So if you're sitting on the fence, don't be afraid. They're here to help. Welcome to the neighborhood. read more

Fantastic experience! We arrived on a Friday, around 7 pm. The restaurant was full and busy. The space is small with just a few tables. We felt like we walked in to a cute little mom and pop restaurant from our travels to Europe. We were acknowledged immediately. Larger groups were also waiting for a table and the hosts who were also the servers asked if we would like to sit at the bar top since larger tables were full. We like the bar so of course. So glad we did! We got to see the owner in action. Literally one man show. He cooks everything, no help. No pantry cook, line cook, nada. He did tell us it was the busiest day they had ever had, being open around 4 weeks. He was amazing! But in my opinion, after that night, he could probably use a hand on weekend nights. (Good problem to have, restaurant was full with people waiting for tables to get up) I had flashbacks of my old restaurant management days where tickets would go flying and food was getting sent back, etc. At one point, things were getting a little harry but he recovered like a pro and with a smile. On to the food. We tried: - Caprese Salad - Lamb Meatballs - Mussels and Clams - Gambas al Ajillo - Spanakopita Everything was served tapas style so it gave us a chance to try a lot of different things. Everything was delicious! Unfortunately, a few things had already run out like lamb chops and ahi tartar. Understandable. They had NEVER been that busy before. Food was incredibly reasonably priced as well. Overall, a really awesome experience. All the servers worked together well and provided a great dining experience. The owner/exec chef is kind and pushed out delicious food. Obviously have a little work to do but for being open 4 weeks, I thought they handled it incredibly. Can't wait to return and try everything else! read more

Showed up on a Friday night - could tell that this place was full of regulars. Met a very impressive teenager who checked on us and got us water. I just found my new favorite spot to eat while traveling for business in Los Angeles!! Found this place via Yelp of course! The place is packed to the gills at 7 pm on a Tuesday so I sidle up to the bar. It's a pleasure to watch Henry, the owner and chef, work his magic! He's great at not burning anything, keeping his area clean while keeping up with the orders...which keep coming, by the way! He's also taking care of customers shouting his name and needing extra attention while remaining calm and personable. Super place, great atmosphere, excellent food and the wine selection looks uh-maaazzzing!!!! I am (unfortunately) wine free tonight due to an important early morning meeting (). Otherwise I would have added a glass of red! I'll let the food do the speaking. One last note, I watched Henry wash his hands multiple times during my meal. Also, he's kind to his staff...that says a lot about his character. I'll be back! read more

I'm a fan from the beginning. Fourth time here, finally writing a review. Chef is a lesson in zen. Sit at the bar, order a bottle of wine (list is great, but in the summer, ask for a chiller even for red, the have a small space and there's no wine cooler). I absolutely love the tapas menu. I love the beers on draft. I love the staff. The guitar music on weekend nights is beautiful and not intrusive. Visit. Eat. Drink. read more

Love this place. Tapas is delicious. Salad is bright and fresh and the wine selction is awsome. Besides that. Its hard to find good pallea in orange county, and Henry does an amazing job at it. Coming back on monday to try the past night. read more

Truffles make everything better. Truffle fries, truffle burgers, and chocolate truffles. So can truffles make a bistro better? First time eating at the Truffle Bistro, a relatively new, restaurant in Tustin. Overall, a great dining experience. I hope that people give this place a try. Service: Our server, Tony, was very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Loved his recommendation on the fried cauliflower. This was very risky for me because I hate cauliflower, but this was fried and it was very tasty. We ordered the below food and drinks. Tapas: Pita bread - olive oil and feta cheese is complimentary and was a great starter Special - puff pastry with feta cheese, tomatoes and balsamic vinegar. This was good but a little more balsamic vinegar than I prefer Stuffed mushrooms - a good lighter dish Rabo de toro - oxtail was the standout item for me. The oxtail was nice and tender with yummy pieces of fat. The sauce was addicting and the pita bread goes well with it. Fried cauliflower - I'm a cauliflower hater, but changed my mind on this fried cauliflower dish Mussels and clams - this is a go to favorite wherever I can find it. This was not a let down. Drinks: Pomegranate lemon drop martini was okay and definitely drinks wasn't there focus or strong suit. Berry bistro old fashioned was again okay. Overall I really enjoyed the experience at Truffle Bistro. I hope people give it a try. read more

Everything about this restaurant is so amazing! From the ambiance to the servers and food, so so good. We just moved to the area and finally found a sitter, so husband and I went out for a quiet evening alone and Tia place was perfect! We had the mushrooms, butternut squash ravioli, beet salad, and full rack of lamb. I also had their "sting like a bee" cocktail, sooo yummy and beautiful. Can't wait to go back! read more

Hidden gem. 10/10 service, 10/10 food. Seems family run which is a bonus. Would recommend to everyone.

Literally found this place on accident. I was driving around with my fiancé and we stopped to get money out from the ATM at the 7-Eleven and noticed this place. I never even knew what tapas was, but wow I was blown away. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but I liked the feel of the restaurant. I definitely plan on returning and highly recommend this place!! read more

This little jewel in Tustin far exceeded my expectations! When my daughter and I walked in we were immediately impressed with the ambiance. The big band/soulful jazz music and candles on tables provided a unique and enjoyable dining experience. We were amazed at the deliciousness of everything we tried! We love that there are tapas in addition to more traditional servings. The stuffed mushrooms were to die for...the artichokes were amazing! Everything was SO good, including the orange chocolate type bomb cake at the end. yum! (oh yeah....great wine selection too :)). Then to add to all the deliciousness.... we realized that the chef, who owns the restaurant, is the only chef, and openly prepares the food where the patrons can watch from an elevated bar type thing. (next time we'll do this....we found out too late :). Our server was charming, engaging and super attentive to our needs, without hovering. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back! read more

Tried this restaurant out for the first time and absolutely loved it. Small, cozy and clean. Had the lamb shank cooked to perfection. Also the chicken farfalle with marsala sauce was delicious. What a gem in the Collins/Tustin Neighborhood. We came on. Saturday evening and were able to get seated quickly. The restaurant was busy and the ambience was great. Updated: Owner promptly contacted me to apologize for any issues we had with the meal. Based upon his response, we will definitely come back to try again. I hate to leave a negative review for a small business so I'll start with the positives. The staff were really friendly and pleasant. However, the paella was the most under seasoned I've ever had in my life. The lamb was okay. Nothing to rave about. Hated paying so much for so-so food. It has the potential to be great. Incredible food and service, we came back with friends. For small restaurant five stars.

I can't even tell you how good the food is here. It's all about flavor. Wonderful time, wonderful wine and fabulous service!

Maybe it was because it was Valentine's day and the restaurant was packed for a 7PM reservation. We ordered a small salad and some tapas. We didn't see the first tapa, just olives, until almost 45 min after we ordered. Spanish sausages were good. Calamari was very thin so mostly tasted like bread. But the worst was we ordered meatballs that we were waiting for as it was the final tapa after being there almost 1.5 hours. When I inquired from our inattentive server Olivia she advised that they'd run out of meatballs. WHAT?!?!? When did you plan to tell us? Then no real sorry or offer to make it up, so we had to just order another simple tapa that took another 20 min to come out even though our server said "she put a rush" on it LOL. I had high expectations for Truffle Bistro but unfortunately it really missed the mark, and I doubt we will be going back again. read more

We ordered at least eight items off the menu and everything was very solid. Some of the best tiramisu I've ever had... and I've been to Italy many times! The duck was very well prepared. Tony was also a great host... and of course - many compliments to the chef!!! Bellisima! read more
