We went to Truffle Bistro for the first time last weekend. It is tucked away in a strip mall but you feel transported to a cute cafe in Spain, Portugal or Italy. I would recommend reservations since it is a smaller bistro, but they were very accommodating when we were running late. We will be back! read more

What can we say? Chef Henrry and his cuisine...excellent !!!! Anthony's attention...exceptional!!! Just stop by and enjoy!! Make sure you make a reservation...enjoy!!! read more

Henry In response to your rude response to my honest review. The fact that I've only written one review goes to show that I'm generally satisfied with the establishments that I visit. The fact that I was compelled to write about your place shows that it really was bad. You really should learn how to take constructive criticism better. It would do wonders for your business. The table next to us and the table next to them also complained about how hot it was in there. Has nothing to do with the fact that we had wine. If you read through a few of your other reviews, it seems to be a recurring problem as others have mentioned it as well. The other entrees sucked too. Like I said, nothing to write home about nor return. read more

When the Uber pulled up you think "oh is this it?" Inside simple but tasteful décor, staff are great, its a small restaurant and the staff are very enthusiastic and friendly. The Tapas menu is quite extensive with a fabulous selection of small plates. The kitchen is open which I love and the chef is interactive when he has the chance. A new find for us but for sure our new go to Tapas place! read more

The food was so amazing I didn't have a chance to take any pictures of it. But from the ambience to the wide variety of tapas and dinner entrees options this little bistro was 10/10. Aveliana was our waitress and she was so sweet and attentive. We will definitely be back to try more tapas! read more

It was unusually hot when I visited Truffle Bistro and other guests felt the same. I heard another table ask if they could turn the AC on and they got a response that it already was, but a few mins later I felt the air kick in and circulate. Menus were dirty and greasy. Twice my water came with something floating in them and the water wasn't flavored with lemon or lime. We tried asking what cheese came with the assorted cheese and meats, one of the cheese was swiss and we asked if we could replace the swiss with something else or double up on the other cheese and the waiter went back to ask, the response was no. Okay, we just won't order it then. Surprised they passed up on an easy sell. Garlic Shrimp. The shrimp were good size. They just don't give you very much and the garlic sauce it comes in was very watery and not very garlic tasting. Oxtail had a nice gelatinous texture but it was way too salty. Arancini small in size compared to other arancini i've tried. Was also a bit bland. Brussels Sprouts was way too oily from deep frying and they didn't let it drain very much. Literally a pool of oil at the bottom of the bowl. Olive bowl they didn't cook anything on here so it was enjoyable. read more

A special place on so many levels. First, the food is delicious. Everything. The wait staff are charming. And Henry, the creator of these wonderful treats, is in full view as he skillfully prepares your food. Small, intimate, terrific. We love it. read more

Brought a group to Truffle Bistro last night. What a fine restaurant - great food, great folks. Despite our large number (17), the service was very personal (thanks Auvi) and we were all able to have what we desired. As a starter, the meatballs were very tasty - very meaty and well spiced. As an entre, I had the fruitti di mare - loads of shellfish over angel hair pasta in a lemon butter sauce. It was perfect - flavorful but light. Others in the group swooned over the Osso Buco, the Grilled Salmon. For dessert, the tiramisu was light, creamy and delicious. The pastries also received great reviews. Henry (owner/chef) and Tony (co-owner) took care of the wines - both the chardonnay and the cab were very nice, local (as they should be in CA) and right-priced for our group. Thank you Truffle Bistro for a wonderful night. Can't wait to come back. read more

Great food and the service was awesome too! Lots to choose from on the menu. We ordered the paella and gambori - both excellent! Dessert was a white cake with raspberry filling and coconut on top - delicious! read more

We enjoyed the short rib gnocchi, the Chorizo n grapes, the oxen tail, the stuff dates and a salad OMG! So good. We are abstaining from alcohol, but I would've loved to pair my dinner with some of the good wine choices. The service and super nice n friendly. We are totally back read more

Love this hidden gem! My wife and I bought a house in Orange a year ago and stumbled upon this restaurant. The service was absolutely superb. Henry (owner) is funny and very personable and greeted us right when we walked in. We had Tony as our server, and even on a busy Saturday night, we never had an empty drink at our table. The servers and Henry all had great communication and teamwork. My wife and I decided to share tapas/small plates for dinner. The chicken wings, Brussels sprouts, calamari, and mussels/clams were all terrific, but my favorite was the Duck Breast! It was tender and moist and paired well with our red wine. If you're ever in Orange, I would highly recommend giving Truffle Bistro a try. PS - Great restaurant for date night and they play songs by Frank Sinatra! read more

This was my third or fourth visit here and it definitely doesn't disappoint! I took my Dad here for his birthday with my wife and Mom. We ordered eight different tapas and they were all amazing, especially the mussels. We finalized the evening with lemon mascarpone cake and couldn't have been happier. We will definitely be back! read more

I couldn't believe I had not been to this restaurant sooner! This hidden gem is the best restaurant in Orange. The food and the service was great. It was slow for a Saturday night but that just made the ambiance extra cozy so we were fine with it. Definitely coming back!! read more

The food was wonderful, the ambience was perfect for a bistro and the service was fantastic. Made a reservation for 7:30pm. Place looked nice and was excited to eat there. They took our order, ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees. Waited for an hour and not even the appetizers has been made. Didn't want to wait for who knows how long the entrees would take to be made. Walked out unsatisfied read more

Absolutely amazing!! Such a good find in OC! This area has needed a Mediterranean restaurant for a long time now. Each dish was served hot and fresh. Can't say enough about the cauliflower small plate and the pita bread. The chicken kabob is recommended as well. Hoping to be served by Avi again. She is friendly, knowledgeable, quick and enthusiastic about the restaurant!! She was the best...and because of her and all of the other great factors we came back the next night! What a gem! Chef Henry is wonderful and I'm just still so utterly surprised to have the opportunity to cross paths again! Chef Henry was the head chef and owner of a small Italian restaurant called Capone's in Westminster long ago that my family and I used to go to when I was a kid. It's just insanely crazy to run into him with his new venture Truffle Bistro! I truly have to thank Chef Henry - he has helped shaped the foodie palette I have today! So enough of memory lane.. let's get to the food! Wow! Wow! Wow! The food is super delish and yummy! We ordered the calamari and seafood stew and let me tell you we're gonna be coming back for more. Lots of other yummy dishes that I can't wait to try! Congratulations Chef and so happy to have discovered you again! read more

Absolutely delicious food and creative chef, innovative menu, personal and accommodating service.

I have come here quite a few times.. It's in my neck of the woods and I was sent here by client raving about the food. Now that I have been here I would rate it 10 stars I could! The ambience is amazing! Perfect mood lighting with music that makes you relax and feel like vacation even if it's for a few ours. The food! My goodness I don't care what you order EVERYTHING is supreme. I don't know how Henry the cook/owner does it right, he cooks for the whole restaurant with a open kitchen. You can see everything which is entertainment and peace of mind. Exotic and wonderful wine and beer. To pair with your food. The servers Jenna and Tony give amazing service and will give you great recommendations on what wine pairs best with your food. For the first time I got dessert here at the end of my amazing meal and I couldn't believe that was impeccable too! Bo joke this place from the second you walk in up in till the moment you leave is an amazing, flavorful, and quality experience. Everything is so good I definitely recommend tapas plates so you can try a little bit of everything since its all amazing. (Versus an entree. ) read more

Nice little place, good service; however foods were average at best. The chef seemed bored in the kitchen which reflected in the foods.

Everything!!! And I mean EVERYTHING is fantastic here. It is such a quaint place that has such a nice feel to it. My wife and I bring everyone we can here, as often as we can... And when we do, the staff are always so sweet and friendly. One of the top places in orange county period! read more

Really good food. Loved the truffle fries. Service was excellent. Too many small plates to try. Definitely will come back!

Met a coworker after work today at this cute little place. It's inviting as you walk in and it was so nice to be warmly welcomed right away. We ordered a glass of wine from their extensive wine list and enjoyed the atmosphere. I had the lobster ravioli and it was delicious!!! My friend had a chicken dish (can't remember the name) that she raved about. I will be back and will tell my friends that they need to visit this hidden gem of a restaurant! read more

My food was excellent except the rice wasn't cooked long enough. The rice was hard still.

Drinks were good. Food was so so. I ordered a ribeye and got an undercooked New York strip steak which they insisted was a ribeye. Server was very nice. For a $150.00 bill, it was unsatisfactory. read more

This is one of the very few reviews that I wrote. We went to Truffle Bistro because we didn't know that Conca D' Oro Italian restaurant next door is closed on Monday and there are many good reviews on Yelp. There were only two people working in the restaurant, one chef and one server. The food was not that good. We ordered 1) Signature Penne pasta with chicken in creamy marsala sauce $17 - taste ok (pasta night special $15) 2) Truffle Special pizza $15 - taste ok but very small like appetizer 3) 12oz Ribeye steak $28 - the meat was spoiled When the steak came, I smelled some sort of salty fish smell. At first, I thought the chef has used anchioves. But I later realized that the steak has gone bad after my first bite. I told the server that the Ribeye was spoiled, the chef agreed to change the dish for us immediately. I then ordered "Signature Penne pasta with chicken in creamy balsamic vinegar sauce". It took at least another 20min for the new pasta dish to come. I like the balsamic sauce but the pasta was undercooked. In this price range, I guess I would expect more from the food. Also, since the smell of the steak was quite strong, I wonder if the chef knew that the meat has gone bad before serving us. I give 2 stars - one star for the nice atmosphere, one star for the super attentive server. Additional comment #2: With 2 small kids and 2 adults, I believe most people would agree that ordering 3 regular entrees are fair to the restaurant. Also, the Truffle Special Pizza was not under Appetizer. So, it cannot be compared to small tapas portion, especially when you are charging $15 for it. Like I said in my review, the 1st pasta was cooked right but the 2nd pasta was under cooked. Regardless, we can tell huge difference in the consistency between the 1st and 2nd, which should not happen for professional chef. By the way, the bill was only $45+tax last night. With the food quality and the wait time on the make-up dish, I think 15% tips was more than fair. Additional comment #3: 1) The ribeye steak was rotten, it is a fact! I don't believe that you did not know it when you cooked the steak. It is your responsibility to provide fresh food to your customers, DEFINITELY NOT COURTESY! 2) Customers are not obligated to pay tips. It is a "nice gesture" and the amount is based on the whole dining experience and customer satisfaction. 3) If it was not the server who provided good service, we would not even bother to give any tips. If you think the server was being punished, you were the culprit who punished him, not us. 4) Please stop arguing with your customers and be more open for comments, good or bad... Now, rather than keep on arguing, you should probably go check on your food inventory and make sure everything is fresh before serving other customers. Thank you and good luck! read more

Small restaurant that is largely a one man show in an unassuming strip mall location on Tustin Ave in Orange. The neat surprise here is the litany of amazing dishes the chef turns out. Thoroughly enjoyed the food. Had the lamb shank as an entree per chefs recommendation and was not disappointed. Wine list was not too my taste so I brought my own. Food is highly recomended. Second visit. Loved the anchovy dish. Fresh anchovies. Special was sardines also very good. The gnocchi and the duck breast were quite good. In fact by now Ive tried virtually every dish and all are above average. Henry is really a great chef. His staff is generally one gal either Avi or Catania and they do a great job. My favorite local spot. Never disappoints!! read more
