Came in for some groceries and saw this HEB had a Bbq joint. Ive heard from multiple friend thats the Bbq was really good. I came in and ordered a chicken leg quarter and 2 pieces of moist brisket. I got it pretty quickly sat down and started to eat the briaket was pretty good. The chicken was great. The flavor waa completely on point. Spent around 20 buks for a dicent mela that filled me up. Go,but proceed with caution. It's counter intuitive for me to eat at a grocery store BBQ spot. I mean, nothing inherently wrong with it but.... When HEB opened their first store in the north of Dallas suburbs a few years ago, people went bonkers. That's when I first noticed HEB attached a bbq restaurant to each of its stores. I noticed it( you can't miss it) walking in the front door. Initially I was excited about the possibility. The day dreams went something like, "imagine going to the store to shop and enjoying a nice Texas bbq spread before or after"! Yes! But,I've been around the block a few times so,decided to decipher the situation first. Allowing weeks to pass and occasionally checking Yelp reviews at each location I could find across Texas,the news wasn't good. Ratings from 1 to 5 stars ran the gammit from " best bar b que I've ever eaten to well...not so good. So,taking the long wait and see, I would glance over and wonder each time I entered an HEB, is it time? Finally I threw caution to the wind after spotting a post by Kurt V. exclaiming what a bargain and tasty meal the stuffed baked potato is. I made a special trip just for a brisket topped baked potato. Walking up to the counter, my first Oh No! Showed up. No sign of counter help. Just 2 order Kiosk( with no personality) ready to take my order. After looking left and right,staring straight ahead and waiting a few minutes,I decided I would Kiosk. After a short learning curve I had ordered my sliced brisket topped baked potato with butter,sour cream and cheese. As soon as I paid, the back door flung open and a gentleman ask me if I had ordered a drink. Just water please. He handed me a cup and I went to find a table. About five minutes later my name was called and I picked up my good looking $10.99 brisket stuffed potato. Long story short,it was an easy,reasonably priced,generous ,tasty dish. I would return for it but,still suspicious of the other offerings. This isn't a serious Texas Bar B Que offering. That takes a lot more commitment, investment and love than a grocery store business plan can cover. However,it's good enough. You know that urge you get occasionally for just a taste? The first visit I ordered the El Jefe and it was great! Brisket was tender and fatty, sausage was perfect. Went back yesterday and ordered it again. Terrible! Brisket cold, too dry, sandwich soggy. Not sure I'll go back and try something else, sure won't be the El Jefe! read more

The food was excellent and my friend let me taste her brisket and another had me taste her beans both of which were outstanding They have two floors and an elevator for those who do not want or cannot walk up the stairs. A nice setup, and an exciting feature for a grocery store. Unfortunately the food isn't very good. The barbecue sauces are over-sweetened, the turkey is over-salted, the collard greens are nearly inedible due to salt, coleslaw tastes old and wilted. But the real cardinal sin here is that the brisket doesn't have much flavor. Sorry guys, I won't be coming back - even if I'm in the grocery store and hungry for BBQ, I'd still go down the road for something better. read more

I recommend getting it to-go bc the dining room is a joke. Dirty tables, dirty bathroom, a bunch of employees standing around doing nothing. They have self ordering kiosks which are a pain. They do have a cashier, but takes cash only orders and beer orders. The brisket is legit. Ordered the brisket nachos amd a sausage link. They sold out of torpedoes when we tried to order...it was dinnertime so I get it. The nachos would be something we'd get again. My hub and I shared them and we had leftovers. They add chives to them which gives it a whole new spin. The first nachos plate we got had way too much sour cream, so asked them to remake it with no sour cream. They did so happily. read more

Hubby and I decided to stop in for some BBQ before grocery shopping. What prompted was the wonderful smell of that BBQ!! Erika greeted us at the counter and gave the warmest welcome. I don't post many reviews, but the super friendly and fast service we received is definitely note worthy! They served a great variety of beers, so decided to enjoy a pint with our pulled pork baked potatoes. My beer was $1 off. They also have happy hour specials (this was earlier in the day). We sat inside--what is a legit restaurant area with TVs and plenty of seating. Erika actually stopped by to check on us, see if we needed a refill and took our plates after we devoured the potatoes. Such great genuine customer service, so refreshing. . Overall an A+++ experience that we were NOT expecting. What a nice surprise. We will be back! read more

This was my first visit to TTBBQ, and it was a mixed bag. The meats (pork ribs, sausage) were very good. The side (collard greens) was very disappointing - they were so salty as to be almost inedible. I was really disappointed with the sauce, which came in small sealed containers (you get a choice between spicy and sweet). I got the spicy, which wasn't very spicy at all, but it did have a whangy taste that was most unpleasant. It went into the trash and I pulled out a bottled sauce which was much better. What kind of Texas Q place doesn't make their own sauce? Overall, I would give TTBBQ 3.5 stars with the meat getting 4.2 stars and the side/sauce coming in at 2.8 stars. After all I had heard about TTBBQ, I was disappointed overall. Not sure if I will be back. read more

So inconsistent with their food, quality, and service. I do NOT recommend TTBBQ! Go elsewhere! I tried it 4 times and there were issues all 4 times. The best and most consistent item on their menu is the Coke from the fountain machine. I walked in at 8:40 to place a to go order and they told me they were closed (9:00pm). I convinced them to let me place an order, and after spending $55.00 for meat, they told me after taking my money that they were out of just about everything I ordered. They decided to substitute different meats and sides because they ran out, only they didn't tell me. I walked out of there with about $10 worth of meat that I didn't order and about $45 worth of desserts that I didn't order either. Tonight they burned our 2 cornbreads to a black char. I couldn't believe they had the nerve to serve this! The outsides were black and the insides were crunchy and as dry as can be. GROSS! The first 2 times I went, they ran out of every meat I wanted to order, and it was before 7:00pm. It is also very overpriced too. Too inconsistent and poor service & quality for me. Ordering the food has a very McDonald's feel. You order on a tablet despite someone available to take your order. There's not much interaction and had to wait to tell someone an item was missing. The Mac and cheese, brisket beans were disappointing and not good sides. The potato salad was ok. The Texas torpedo is a waste of money. The Texas torpedo consists of a crunchy over cooked outside with a raw jalapeño inside stuffed with cream cheese and brisket covered in a raspberry jam. The turkey and turkey sandwich was good and would order that again. The sausage is just ok. This place isn't busy. It's a good place to sit and watch a football game while you are waiting on someone to finish shopping. read more

Pretty good bbq, but there seems to be some completely incompetent people working the to go orders. I have tried 3 different times with several delivery services to get some damn banana pudding. They are 0 for 3. So clearly it's the morons that work there. Maybe it's a scam and they don't actually serve banana pudding and they keep the money. Screw this place. read more
