This is my go-to place for alignments. I've been here 3 times. You can make an appointment and you're in and out within an hour. If you get on their mailing list they will send you deals like $40 alignments. The young guy behind the counter is respectful and kind. Not like typical teens these days. I lived in North County for almost 3 yrs and I still drove 45 minutes to have my alignment done here. I used True Line once for my personal car and then a few times for our company. Now I trust and believe what they tell me. Larry is very nice and honest. If something can wait, he will tell you. He will give you the risks and let you decide. He doesn't make you feel like an idiot for not knowing your car. or like a cheepskate for not fixing the problem. I made an appt here for an alignment. They got my truck in fairly quickly. I recently had a lift kit installed and wanted to check the alignment. I was told my differential was off center by an inch just by looking at it and so the work required would not be able to completed till the next day. Took it home and did some measuring then took it to a different shop that confirmed my measurement it was dead on. I almost spent way too much money for them to make my truck worse off. Dont know what the deal was but I would be carefull taking my vehicle here. Didnt have any actual work done but dont think ill be going back. read more

I read some of the bad reviews on here about True Line but I have no idea how they could be honest reviews. These guys were friendly, honest, and completely thorough. Larry took my lifted truck and completely restored my suspension. I had driven through a pot hole and mangled the lower control arm and several other parts. Then made it worse by not getting it checked for months. But he was able to correctly diagnose the problems and fix them. Including having to manufacture and weld a bracket to correct a camber issue. Took my car in for an alignment after buying new tires from discount and they told me it was pulling slightly to one side after they had aligned it..... and that I may have a bad tire so, I went back to discount and they checked the pressure(which I witnessed) and it was 45 psi, the info on the car door the tires and the paper work from truline all said 32 psi so I called them and explained the situation....and basically they denied they over filled the tires and said thanks for checking back with us. I've been taking all 3 of my cars there for 10 years now. But after this.... I'm going elsewhere. I would recommend you do the same, their no longer a trustworthy establishment. read more

I stopped in at TrueLine Wheel Alignment in El Cajon with my 54 f100 custom pickup and was very impressed. They looked at the pickup and did a quick assessment. It was in need of a complete front suspension rebuild. I went home and completely rebuilt the front suspension then returned to True Line wheel Alignment. Ryan was very thorough asking the right questions such as what ride height I would like due to the air suspension as well as the rear height. With all of the good reviews I thought they would be great. I had just replaced everything on the front end of my 04 Odyssey. They did a 4 wheel alignment but it still pulls to the right. Checked my front brakes to see if they were dragging. The "mechanic" at TL had torqued my lug nuts with an impact wrench, about 150 ft lbs. No body does that anymore, except maybe at the local llantera. Found out this week that the front right wheel bearing was worn out. Really worn out. You'd think they would have caught that. I think I will look for a better shop next time. read more

Friendly staff. Usually somewhat fast. They messed my alignment up and did so it made the vehicle pull the opposite direction. I went back in and told them it's pulling the other way. Even though they knew they just did my alignment they made me make an appointment and come back. Came back they fixed it and just handed me the keys. I said, "what was wrong" and then he admitted to their fault. No apology, no future discount, no NOTHIN!! Looking else where for alignment. Doubtful will return. read more

I needed an alignment after lifting my 95 4x4 ranger. These trucks are notorious for not being being the easiest to align. I took it to three shops and they all wanted to charge me $200+ to align and install camber bushings. I took it to trueline and Alex was able to align without the cam bushings saving me a good amount of money. He was also able to point out my Dumbass mistake of not tightening the pitman arm bushing and recommend some other fixes to my suspension as well. I'll definitely be back for any alignment needs. This review is only based on my latest experience with True Line from today. I have a set of coilovers for my car that I am looking to get installed. I called and asked for a quote for install and alignment and was quoted $550.00. This is the reason for this review. This price is ludicrous. The install is a 1 hour job. I called several other places after this and the average quote (with alignment) is $200.00 out the door. I have used true Line several times in the past, but it seems like they have a change in management or something and now seem like a joke. I used them almost exclusively in the past for custom alignments on a few of my race cars and was always very pleased with the outcome. Im sorry to say, that no matter how good their alignments are, the have lost their bearings when it comes to prices. I'm still laughing about the quote they gave me. read more

Took a lifted Jeep here and ended up having to go somewhere else to get it fully aligned to spec. Three stars because they did align the front pretty well and they didn't charge me for the rear (only after some debating though). There are definitely better shops out there. read more

I brought my car here today for an alignment. My mechanic recommended the place. When they gave me my car back, it had the check engine light on. I asked them why the light was on and what they would do for me. They simply told me that it had nothing to do with them, and that there was nothing they could do. Thanks a lot guys, I give you my car, running fine, you return it with the engine light on, and it not your problem? That's terrible customer service. I would not recommend this place to anyone! Had a great experience here now three times. I have a 50 year old Malibu they did a perfect job on, even though I have all tubular control arms and aftermarket parts. They just recently inspected and diagnosed my 2005 Dodge truck's front end issues, and did a perfect alignment after helping me with control arms and ball joints. Two thumbs up. I got a toe alignment, and a brake and suspension check. I drive a lowered Import car, and I've been looking everywhere for a place to get my car an alignment because this has been my 2nd set of tires in 8 months.. should be 3 years-ish. Everyone was saying $90 for a stock-height car, but I was lowered and they even gave me crap about it. So then I asked a friend that drives a lowered car, and they recommended me to True Line Wheel here. I looked it up, and their price was $29.99 (special coupon). I called them up and asked about how it'd work, would I need an appointment or anything. They said no just come on in, and then asked about lowered cars and the front-desk guy replies "oh yeah of course, your car could be laying on the ground and we'd still do it"So, great customer service, great pricing so far. I got there and they took my car in after about 10 minutes because there was a little line, the guy who took care of my car was super awesome. He was a huge fan of my car, and we were exchanging stories about our "fun" with Import while he worked. He even gave me some tips, and help on getting the car to function better. Definitely will be returning here for more of my future servicing. Rating explanation: 5 stars for a 5 star job. Great pricing, and great workers. One thing that stumped me was that there's only one location in El Cajon.. I would LOVE to have one further up North to spare me from an hour-long drive, I was kind of scared to drive that far with such bad toe and negative camber. read more

*Slammed car friendly* I needed an alignment after lowering my car. I checked out Firestone in santee, and true line in Chula Vista, finding out that my car couldn't fit in their stations. After doing more searching, I found out true line in santee was low car friendly, which was true. Flat surfaces in the area. I Scheduled an appointment right away and arrived earlier than my appointment time. They weren't busy, so they told me to back my car in for the alignment. Quick and easy! Took no longer than 30 minutes. What I also liked about this shop is that they ask/ help you with the alignment specs you want since they do the alignment manually, instead of using computers to align it. This is going to be my go to spot for alignments from now on. read more

They initially quoted me $1100 for new front brakes, alignment and I needed a new strut. When I got there to pick it up, the price was $800. My recommendation first, followed by the notable elements of my experience. All in all, I really enjoyed working with True Line, have a high level of confidence in the work which was done, and am immensely pleased with their customer service. Larry and Chris are both intelligent and cool, the vibe I got was kind of classic gear heads. Although I brought the coach in right before the holidays, their team was on it, and completed my work well within a reasonable time frame. When my coach required special attention outside of the original expectations, they did not nickle and dime me at each opportunity. I would definitely recommend this company for any suspension/breaks/chassis/alignment related issues.. they can handle all size vehicles, are prompt and communicative, and seem to do quality work. Thanks True Line, and special thanks to Larry and Chris who went the extra mile on my behalf! I brought in my '91 32' coach which suffered from some severe airbag / suspension / other structural issues, some of them requiring welds to repair lost structure, as well as removing axles and such. When I dropped her off, due to the length of the list, I was prepared for them to take up to around a month, however, I was pleasantly surprised when they began calling me by the end of the week apologizing that they were stuck waiting on parts, and didn't expect to be finished until mid next-week.. all in all, they had my coach for less than 2 weeks, several days of which were due to my inability to arrange a ride to pick it up. Toward the end of my drive home, the brakes seized a bit resulting in a very small amount of brakes being applied non-stop. As several months earlier True Line had completed a number of repairs on the braking system, I contacted them to give them a heads up I had this problem, and maybe encounter some suggestions for how I would get my 32' coach 20 miles down the road without damaging anything when the breaks won't release. To my surprise, after describing the braking problem, and confirming they had worked on those brakes recently, Larry and Chris from True Line volunteered to swing by my place on their way home from work (Though it was probably at least 20 minutes out of the way for Larry), and diagnose the problem I had encountered. As my phone call caught them right before closing, they arrived within 40 minutes or so, and proceeded to poke, prod, and generally trouble-shoot the problem, bleeding the brakes lines and such, until they were fairly certain they had identified the problem as a seized piston. Although rebuilding or replacing the caliper was not part of the initial brake job, Larry volunteered to rebuild the unit for free, and after having dislodged the brakes from their initial seized state, I was able to drive the coach back in where they were able to promptly complete the repair on the brakes. read more

Hands down one of the best shops in San Diego do get any alignment work done. The mechanics are very friendly and very knowledgeable. They have the most up to date alignment machines but still have a very good knowledge on how proper alignment needs to be done. They are also very good letting you know of any other issues that might be causing your problem without imposing any up sell. I have brought several different vehicles and have never been let down. Do try to get an appointment or come early since they book very quickly. read more

These guys are the best! I used to get my alignments done at my local Firestone because it was conveniently located down the street from my house, but after several issues with incorrect adjustments and a general lack of knowledge about cars and suspension, I came here and couldn't be happier. Firestone told me that they could no longer provide an alignment for my last car because the one guy who had the right tools had been fired (and I paid for a lifetime alignment), and when they tried, they imputed the wrong car into their computer. Granted my car was on coil-overs and was not as simple as putting it on the rack and turning on the computer like most cars, but really all that was required was to jack the car up, make the adjustment and lower it back down. They basically told me that it was impossible to correctly align to my requested specs. True Line had the whole job done in less than an hour and it was perfectly aligned to my specs. If you are having trouble elsewhere, come to this place and you may find that the impossible is not really all that hard when people know what they are doing. read more

These guys helped me with an F350 that was experiencing "death wobble", the steering wheel shaking violently. They correctly diagnosed and repaired the problem with new tires and tie rods. I also had them change another tire and put new shocks in. Their diagnosis, pricing and parts pricing was fair and the work was done in a timely fashion. I had changed all 4 ball joints, tie rods, pittman arm and idler arm on my old 95 GMC. I had it aligned somewhere else. They did a good job. The truck went straight and the steering wheel was centered. But the steering felt too tight and darty to me. It was much worse than before I changed everything. Not being sure if I did something wrong or the other shop did something wrong I decided to take it to True Line. I talked to Larry and described the problem. He thought the steering gear box might be adjusted too tight and recommended I turn the adjusting screw out 1/2 turn. I went home and did just that. The problem went away and my truck steers like new again. True Line could have soaked me for a full alignment and the gear box adjustment but they didn't. It's hard to fine an honest shop that won't take advantage of the customer. This is truly an honest shop. read more

I have used these guys two times before. They did a four wheel alignment on my Porsche 911 and did a great job. then I bought a brand new Scion Xbox for business that would constantly weave on the highway. The dealers could not get it right so I took it to Trueline and it was fixed... I just put new tires on the Scion and wanted to makes sure the alignment was correct. I took it to Trueline who checked it and rotated my tires to make sure that it was good. Because it didn't need adjustment, there was no charge !!!! I bought 4 tires from Evans Tire & they advised me to make alignment because my car has an issue with rear alignment & they gave me estimate of $190.00 to fix it. a friend of mine advised me to go to True Line Wheel Alignment & he says the owner Mr. Tony is very good. I went to the shop on Wednesday 09/05/12 at 08:00, the front desk young man was very helpful & very polite. After a while, the mechanic checked the car & he came & told me that the hole work will cost me $225.00, I told him that I had an estimate from Evans Tire $190.00 & if it's possible to lower the cost? He answered me in a very rude & impolite way (Take your keys & go to Evans Tire, Why you came here?), I didn't answer him because there were costumers inside the shop & I didn't want to make an argument in front of them. I looked for Mr. Tony, I think he is the boss to tell him about what happened, but I could't find him, I returned home & called him 6 times but he was out of the shop, just to ask him, is the rude & arrogant behaviors of his mechanic, the way to bring more costumers or make them leave with NO RETURN to this shop like me. I will never go again to this shop even if it will have a free services, because I'm ready to pay any money but not to deal with rude, arrogant & impolite people like the mechanic of this shop.
