They were very professional and did the job pretty quick. Tim, the owner took care of me immediately when I went in for my appointment. Value? I definitely cannot complain. There were other shops that wanted to charge me double and even triple for what Import Auto Services did for me. One company I wouldn't recommend going to unless you have lots a money or only own a Mercedes or BMW is "Minsky Mercedes." When I asked why they charge so much more, there answer was quote, "Our name suggests we specialize in BMW and Mercedes, we can work on other makes but it would be the Euro pricing." Unquote. I went in for an oil change. When I was paying Sean said they found some things that needed to be replaced. He said my brakes were in the red zone, filters need to be replaced, my brake fluid and radiator fluid were dirty and needed to be flushed and replaced, my control arms,struts and tie rod needed relacing. I asked if he had any pictures to show and he said no. They don't do that. So I asked him to send me an estimate for all these things. When I got the estimate it was almost $4,000. My car was not acting up in any way, so I went to anther mechanic. They did a very thorough assessment of my car and replaced two filters that required less than 10 minutes of labor. They said my brakes had another 30k miles to go, no other parts needed replacing, my fluids were not dirty and also could wait to be replaced. I will never trust this business again. read more

So I was looking to get my a/c some freon. I went to the military base first and they wanted to charge for the service, but if it needed repairs and I declined the service, they would keep the whole freon service fee? While I have no issues with the owner Timothy, who appears to be a decent person . However his lead mechanic, whose name is perhaps Rudolpho, his front desk manager shawn may have given me the incorrect name because I asked , seems very questionable , either due to his incompetence or dishonesty. After being informed of an extensive and costly list of repairs, I got a second and third opinion. Both confirmed that my vehicle was in excellent condition without any grand issues. Called in the morning to inquire bringing my 2016 LR4 for an inspection for brakes and possible oil change. They were able to take my vehicle right in. They walked out with me to check the vehicle out and at first glance, they noticed that my brake pads were low. After an hour, they called me with a quote and was very transparent that my vehicle needed both front/rear brakes. I also decided to knock out my annual oil change with them. Within a few hours, my Land Rover was ready to go. As I drove it home, it felt like new. Thank you to the staff at Import Auto Service (Shawn and Chloe) for taking care of us. I needed to get my brakes replaced. I got a quote from the Toyota dealership for this (and a laundry list of other items that they felt I needed). The team at Import Auto was able to beat it the brake price, so I went with them. Super glad I went with these guys. They were efficient in fixing the brakes and able to get me in during a holiday week (Thanksgiving). The car brakes are working great! I'm definitely keeping them in mind for future repairs and needs as my Prius continues to rack up the miles. They are a little challenging to find: once you get to their address, drive to the back of the plaza parking lot and look for the American flag at the front of the business. I drive a Range Rover Sport HSE and every time something happened to it I would have to bring it to the LandRover/Jaguar of San Diego. Not only would it take like 7 weeks to get an appointment I was usually always out about $2k. It was just always a recipe for a bad time. Well I didn't have 7 weeks to wait My check engine light came on, my ride was super bad. I had to turn to yelp and google to see if there was anyone familiar with LandRovers. (Not everyone wants to work on them) And I stumbled upon Import. They had an online appointment service that got me in for a diagnosis the same Day. They were very forthcoming with updates and a diagnosis. They're a pretty popular spot. So after I figured out the damage (break in the line somewhere) they took me home and kept the car until they were able to work on it and get me Out of There. I was told Upfront what the worst case scenarios was which I appreciated. It's better to be over prepared. It ended up being much simpler than they anticipated (thank god) but I still had them so give me a transmission flush. (Which would have been a terrible amount at LRSD) They didn't treat me like an idiot for the car I drove. Had $2,800.00 of work done to replace a water pump, thermostat, transmission filter and tension belt. On the freeway during rush hour the radiator drain plug blew and almost caused an accident. They claimed that the plug was never removed or replaced to drain the radiator. There was only two miles difference on the odometer from the time we brought it in until we picked it up. It was never road tested to let the system heat up. When questioned, all I got were rude and degrading responses. Tim told us to just take the keys and go. Very rude! read more

These guys are the best mechanics in the area with the absolute best prices for the quality of work they provide! The staff is professional the mechanics very knowledgeable. I took my Porsche there and the oil change at the dealer is 600 while they charged under $140. I also had my front brakes done there and it was a fraction of the cost I am about to take my jeep in for repairs so we will see how that goes and I'll update the post after!
