My car broke down and would not turn on, so I had it towed here after calling and explaining the issue. They initially couldn't determine if it was a bad battery or the alternator. Rather than charging me for a battery, they suggested I call AAA for a battery replacement since it was still under warranty and then they would check everything else out to figure out where the problem was. After the battery got swapped it was obvious that it was my alternator. They got it fixed within the day! A couple of months later, my car broke down in the same way it did previously. I called them up to explain the issue again, and had the car towed out to them. I wasn't sure if the fix would be covered under warranty, but once a new alternator was installed, they told me everything was covered and I was good to go. Haven't had any issues with it since. Beware of this shop, and especially the person working the front counter, who I believe is named Carl and may be the shop manager. My experience started off fine. I brought my car in to have an OEM motor mount installed, and the installation appeared to go smoothly. However, later that day, while working on my car, I discovered that two bolts connecting the hybrid bracket to the motor mount had been left off. I immediately called the shop and spoke with a young woman at the front desk. She apologized and told me to bring the car back whenever I had time so they could look at it. I called the following Wednesday and scheduled an appointment for Friday. Since I was already bringing the car back, I also asked them to diagnose a clicking noise that occurred during braking and acceleration. On Friday, after dropping off the car, Carl called and told me they believed the noise was coming from the front brakes and that the calipers would need to be removed for further diagnosis. I asked a few questions so I could understand how they reached that conclusion before authorizing additional work. Instead of answering my questions, Carl became defensive and repeatedly said, "I don't think we're the shop for you." As a paying customer, I should be able to ask reasonable questions before approving repairs. That's part of making an informed decision. Rather than explaining their diagnosis, Carl seemed offended that I asked for clarification. I also asked why no one informed me that two bolts from the motor mount assembly would be left off during the installation. Carl's response was, "It's not our job. You brought the part in, and you knew." The problem is, I didn't know. In fact, I had already spoken with the mechanic, who told me he had informed the front desk and agreed that someone they should have communicated this to me. Instead of acknowledging the breakdown in communication, Carl chose to blame the customer and accept no accountability. This situation could have been handled very differently. A simple apology for the communication failure, an explanation of why the bolts weren't installed, and a discussion of the available options would have gone a long way. Instead, I was met with dismissive behavior and a complete lack of customer service. Everyone makes mistakes. What separates a good business from a bad one is how those mistakes are handled. The dealership said over a thousand dollars worth of services were necessary, and as a college student I was not able to do that, and really just wanted a second opinion. I requested some help from Summit via Yelp and got a response within minutes. Carl is SO friendly and able to help the same day. I was able to get my oil changed, and they looked at the other "necessary" services that were suggested by my dealership and told me that over half of them weren't necessary, and even ended up finding a leak in my car that the dealership didn't even find. I ended up needing to replace all four tires, get an alignment, and fix that leak and was able to do it all for an UNBEATABLE price, while also having quality work done to my car. They finished my car within 24 hours even after needing to order the tires for my specific car. They also let me know in advance that it would take a little bit longer because of that, but I didn't mind. I brought my vehicle in to have it inspected and to get a mechanic's opinion about my transmission. Since transmission work is part of the name and reputation of the shop, I expected the staff to be knowledgeable and willing to answer a few questions. Before I continue, I want to say that the mechanic and receptionist I interacted with were polite, respectful, and professional. Unfortunately, my experience with the manager, Carl, was very different. In my experience, he was extremely disrespectful, rude, arrogant, dismissive, condescending, argumentative, impatient, and unprofessional. I also found his behavior to be unnecessarily hostile and completely lacking in customer service, especially considering I was simply asking questions about my own vehicle. I had spoken with Carl a few days earlier about bringing my vehicle in, although he understandably may not have remembered our conversation. When I came in, I was simply trying to explain my concerns and ask questions about my vehicle. I am not a mechanic, which is exactly why I came to a professional shop for advice and recommendations on how to keep my car running properly. Unfortunately, I felt that Carl became unnecessarily argumentative and frustrated simply because I was asking questions. His tone and attitude made it difficult to have what should have been a normal, respectful conversation. Even the receptionist appeared surprised by the way the interaction was handled. Throughout the entire visit, I remained respectful toward everyone because I understand that they were doing their jobs and working on my vehicle. Because of this experience, I unfortunately do not feel comfortable continuing to do business with this shop. I had read the previous reviews, including one negative review, but decided to give the shop a chance for myself. I am disappointed that my experience ended up being similar. It is unfortunate because the other staff members I interacted with were respectful and professional. I sincerely feel for the employees who have to work under that type of management, as it cannot be easy. For 3 days I was promised call-backs that never came. MaxCare told me I was the last person to contact them -- the shop never called once. When I showed up to take my Jeep back, suddenly the parts were "approved" after a week of nothing. The Technician Work Sheet and parts approval I got (attached) prove they had my car, logged the issue, and still did nothing. The people were polite, but that doesn't matter when they waste your time, give you conflicting stories, and don't fix your car. Go anywhere else if you actually want your vehicle repaired. *just got off the phone with MaxCare and the claim was made 6/23 and I dropped it off 6/16. My initial request was to diagnose and fix my AC issue with my 2018 Accord. I was told that any repairs they do would come with a 2 year warranty or 24k miles whichever comes first. They diagnosed that my expansion valve and my condenser needed replacing in order to fix my AC issues of low air flow and hot air coming out. This was in 06/15/26 and costed me $1300. 1 month pass & my AC works fine, but now when I run my AC, it leaks a lot of water causing the passenger floor to be soaked. I came back to the shop with the thought that this would be under warranty and wouldn't cost me another arm. They said this would not be under warranty and would cost me $1650 to fix, I asked if there would be any possible way we could lower the price as this is one month after the initial fix with them and I don't want to drop that much again for AC problems especially when it should have been Done the first time I came to diagnose it with them.I understand business need to make money but I would have hope they took accountability for the issue since this is the first time it has ever leaked and especially after the initial repair by them.
