It's been about 2 months so far and it rejuvenated my love for the truck...now if I can afford the fuel bill to drive it But it came with a 3 year 36k mile warranty and they said if anything happens just bring it in and they'll take care of it. Oh, almost forgot. I had some upgraded parts and new parts to install and they did that for no extra charge when they put it back together .

Rather than charging me for a battery, they suggested I call AAA for a battery replacement since it was still under warranty and then they would check everything else out to figure out where the problem was. After the battery got swapped it was obvious that it was my alternator. They got it fixed within the day! A couple of months later, my car broke down in the same way it did previously. I called them up to explain the issue again, and had the car towed out to them. I wasn't sure if the fix would be covered under warranty, but once a new alternator was installed, they told me everything was covered and I was good to go. Haven't had any issues with it since. Really appreciate the professionalism, transparency, and cost of the fix and re-fix. Will come back here for any future repairs!

Every nut and bolt touched on the transmission is QA paint marked, and the transmission and peripherals are spotless, which is a huge compliment considering the 20 years of baked on diesel grime it went in with that a pressure washer and a can of GUNK wasn't able to touch. The truck drives great, the shifts are quick, but not jerky and harsh. I don't think It's ever driven this good. Caution be warned, however, they'll have your vehicle for an extended period of time (depending on the work needed, obviously). Paul told me they average 10-15 days for a rebuild. Dropped it off Mid November, expecting to not have it for a couple weeks. Got the truck back on December 23, more than a month later. Spent about $1500 in rental fees to rent a truck and $400 in batteries when they told me they were dead (when you let it sit for a month...).

I knew I needed a new catalytic converter and all my check engine lights were on. Joseph kindly checked all the lights and told me exactly what each meant and then reset them, instructing me to return to the shop after a few weeks to see if I was ready for inspection. He refused to take any money, though I offered to pay him for his time. He did a quick preliminary diagnosis and gave me a fair quote for the alternator parts and labor. A few hours later, instead of just doing the expensive repair, he called me and explained that the alternator was actually fine -- the real problem was a wire that was shorting out and causing the symptoms. The repair ended up costing significantly less than expected because they were honest enough to fix the actual issue instead of replacing parts I didn't need. I also had them change the fluids and filters while it was there. He said it looked like my spark plugs needed changing as well. Everything was completed quickly and professionally. SD Transmissions does not let me down at all!!!…read more After going to them for my Explorer's transmission issues, instead of having to buy a new transmission, it was just a O-Ring, I need to get some transmission work done again. Bought a used F250SD and did not have a issues for about two years. I started feeling the truck slip every once and a while then one day I parked at my office and when I went back out to my truck to go home I could not get the truck in reverse. The shifter lever would just go up and down with a lot of play and wouldn't get into gear. I had to rev the engine really high for it to go in gear then it would jump really bad when it finally caught the gear. Took it to SD Transmission because they gave me a truthful diagnostic on my last car so I knew they would do the same for me this time. Turns out everything in my Transmission was slowly breaking and it would have only been a matter of time before I wouldn't be able to put it in gear at all. Vanessa got me checked in and work started the day I took it in. By the end of the day I had the results of their diagnostic. It wasnt what I wanted to hear. The transmission had to be completely rebuilt. Usually, I would have questioned this and took it for a second opinion but because they were honest with me last time and were very fair on the price I didnt have to go anywhere else. They rebuilt my transmission in a couple of days and I got my truck back. Vanessa and her crew are the best. I bought the warranty for the work they did because if you know transmissions you know they are VERY expensive and need a protection plan. Drove out of the shop with a "new" transmission and the truck ran great!!!! Few thousand miles later my shifter lever started having a lot of play in it. I had to slam it up to get into park. I could not put the shifter lever in the lower gears because it just wouldnt get down that far. I was in luck thought, my check up date/mileage was coming up so I made an appointment with Vanessa and she got me in the next week. When I got there (10am) I was greeted in the office by Vanessa who addressed me by name and not just another car to repair. She took my information and I let her know about the shifter lever. She said the truck would be ready at 3pm. 2:30PM I received a call from Vanessa saying my truck was ready for me to go pick it up. When I got there the truck was outside ready to go. Vanessa walked me to the truck and explained what they did during the check-up. She also explained how and why my shifter lever got the way it was and that they fixed the issue. I called about a week and a half ago, around June 1st, to schedule a transmission service for my car. This shop was recommended to me by a family member and this shop did rebuild the transmission for my car about 8 months ago, so I figured I would give them repeat business. When I called, I asked to make an appointment for a Saturday morning and made it abundantly clear that I wanted to make sure someone would be at the shop because I was driving from over 30 miles away. They assured me a Saturday morning appointment would work. Well, Saturday the 10th rolls around. I wake up at 6:00am on my day off to make sure I get through caring for all the animals on the property and leave with enough time as to not keep the shop waiting. I show up exactly at 9am at the the shop, and nobody is there. I called the number I could find for the shop, and the lady that answered let me know she was "really sorry and forgot to cancel [my] appointment, but I did cancel all the other appointments I had on the calendar today." REALLY?! You remembered to call everyone you had scheduled EXCEPT for me, the one who was probably driving from the furthest distance?! AFTER I made that clear when I set the appointment?! Your apology did not put fuel in our vehicles, nor did it get back the hour and a half we spent driving, nor did it negate the fact that I had to wake up at the crack of dawn on my day off to accommodate YOUR weekend schedule. I will never give this shop my business again, nor will I ever recommend them. Their property looks like a junkyard, to boot. I may pay a little more elsewhere, but I'll get the service I expect (which is the bare minimum for customer service. I don't ask for a lot).
