Recently had the pleasure of having my transmission serviced and cooler lines replaced at Certified Transmission. I was dealing with a gentleman named Dennis, he was thorough, honest and very knowledgeable. I brought my truck in because the transmission was starting to slip. He informed me that we caught it just in time and were able to get it driving nicely without a complete replacement. Will always be referring people here and will be a repeat customer if I have more transmission issues in the future (although I hope not to). read more

The staff was friendly on the phone and in person. This is my second time bringing a vehicle to them and pretty soon will be a third time I had that classic shimmy in the transmission at 75,000 miles with my Colorado. My wife has a traverse and the same thing is happening. I was the guinea pig and they did fix it, so now I'm gonna have my wife bring her car in to fix that same problem. Great work. read more

Great service! They know what they are doing! I called many shops to rebuild the transmission in my 59 Cadillac and the shops either didn't want to touch it or they would but couldn't give an estimate . Certified gave me an estimate worst case scenario, new the exact transmission etc! Highly recommend then for classic cars and any car! Thank you! read more

Thought I had a transmitter problem but Dennis assured me that all is cool. Very nice guy, very professional. Highly recommended.

I couldn't be happier with the customer service and results of my recent transmission diagnosis, repair and overall experience at Certified Transmission. Dennis was great at communicating and managing reasonable expectations. The initial quote was fair and is exactly what I was charged. Highly recommend them. Will certainly go to them for any future transmission service or repair. Thanks for doing things right. Best regards, Dave E. read more

Writing this review on behalf of my folks this time. After my folks got a quote from the dealer, I suggested they try Certified Transmission based on the great experience I had. Certified Transmission did not disappoint - my folks ended up paying a fraction of what the dealer was asking. Just a great bunch of honest people over there. read more

I think you can tell a lot about a company by the way they handle their customers problems. I brought my car to them for a repair back in 2009 and they fixed my truck quick and we're upfront and honest with the costs. In 2022 my clutch went out on the freeway and I limped it in based off my previous good experience. It was replaced but unfortunately their supplier made a mistake and my clutch wasn't operating properly. Dennis handled it professionally and made it very easy on me to make things right. Certified transmissions is a good shop and their customer service is excellent. Mistakes happen, I'm grateful that certified transmission and Dennis made it right and my vehicle now operates perfectly. I trust this shop and will bring my vehicles to them in the future. read more

Excellent experience with this shop. The price is reasonable and the service is Outstanding!! The diagnostic process was great! The manager, Dennis and his techs do a thorough job and Dennis walked me through each and every issue that they came across to ensure that I knew exactly what was going on with my 2014 Dodge Durango. I would recommend this shop to anyone that has no idea what may be going on with their transmission or their vehicle. You will be just as pleased, as me with whatever service they may be providing for you. read more

Our van front wheel bearings was making noise. Brought in van on Sat for estimate / diagnosis. It was fixed the save day and had front brakes pads replaced as well !! thank you for your quick service and expertise read more

I chose this shop to diagnose a problem with my car based on their reviews on Yelp. And I'm really glad I did because they're honest, courteous, and responsive. Not to mention they don't charge to perform a basic diagnosis! That's almost unheard of now days, with shops nickeling and diming consumers at every opportunity. Will definitely be back. Let's support our hardworking local businesses. read more

I had my manual transmission rebuilt by recently changed name Factory(see review)to Certified Transmission. After 24,450 miles, it leaks from the gaskets and seals and a bearing is very loud now. I did not run it low on gear oil and suspect it was not a truly rebuilt correctly transmission. I work too hard for my money and would never trust them to do work for me again. Too bad as I liked them :( I am only sharing my experience and recommend a JDM Japan imported unopenned transmission, if you have that option. Ebay has been a good source for me. Good luck read more

Great company! The owner is awesome and so nice and friendly! I am glad I went here when my transmission completely died on me!!!!I highly recommend here, as they do good work and they are an HONEST COMPANY!!! read more

The correct part took a little longer to arrive than expected. But not a huge deal! They seem to be a little busy. This place was recommended to me by a friend who had their transfer case worked on. And everything went smoothly. My transfer case was in need of being resealed and it cost about 900somethjng bucks. I called around to compare prices and this seemed to be a reasonable price for people who knew what they were doing and the assurance of that. I recommend this place. read more

Went to these guys to get my transmission replaced. Upon the first initial conversation I had stated that I wanted a new transmission not a rebuilt. They led me to believe that that's what I was going to get. Ended up with a rebuilt transmission. Upon doing the work they realized I had a leak in my rear main seal and didn't even bother to tell me. They definitely didn't offer to replace it or anything. Went back to talk to them about it and the manager basically stated that they don't do rear main seals. Now I have to pay my mechanic to pull everything apart again to change that. Also have a noise in my front transaxle that wasn't there before they started the work. Once again they're passing the blame and saying that they had no responsibility in causing that noise. Would not recommend these people to anyone ever. By far the crappiest transmission people in town. read more

Prompt response to my Yelp quote request. Super courteous. Accurate diagnosis. Perfect repair. A very fair price. Fast turn around. I was losing about a quart of ATF per 75 miles. This was one of those deals where anyone could have taken advantage of me as I know nothing about transmissions. It's refreshing to find a business that is competent and honest - and customer oriented. No glad-handing or up-selling. read more

Quick response time through Yelp when I emailed them! They were able to see me that day even after I missed my appointment with them the day before. Fair pricing, upfront, honest and I received a phone call from the owner once they were finished. I highly recommend this company if you need your transmission serviced! read more

I needed a new clutch, and I found this place thanks to the favorable Yelp reviews. When I called to have them do an inspection to quote how much it would be, the lady on the phone was super pleasant, so I decided to bring my car in for a FREE diagnostics, which is nice. Shortly after the same day, they called me and let me know exactly what needed to be done, how much it would be, and when the car would be ready. The quote was fair, and the gentlemen was super nice over the phone, one can tell customer service is important to these folks. They finished my car sooner than they projected and now it runs great! I am a happy customer and will make sure to recommend them to everyone! read more

Certified Transmission saved our vacation!!! If 10 stars were an option they would have earned it. Last week my family and I were headed out to Sedona in our Jeep Wrangler. This would be the first big road trip with the Jeep. Unfortunately the transmission started to have trouble soon after leaving town. After calling several transmission shops from the side of the road, I found Certified Transmission. Cindy sounded honest over the phone and assured me they would be able to look at it first thing that morning. We had it towed down to the shop and sure enough they jumped right on it. After 10 minutes of these guys looking at my jeep I could tell they knew what they were doing. Unfortunately my transmission was toast. We would have to replace it. I thought our vacation was ruined, but Certified Transmission managed to have one shipped from Los Angeles over night and have it replaced in under 24 hours. I got to tell my 2 year old son and wife that the trip was back on :) We were back on the road the very next day and made it to Sedona. The jeep is running better than when I purchased it. I will never use another transmission shop and will recommend Certified Transmission to anyone looking for transmission work on their jeep or other. If you need an emergency transmission repair shop in San Diego, call these guys. You will get an honest assessment and they do quality work. read more

This place is honest and very helpful. My son is an active duty Marine, and his truck transmission went. These guys helped him get it towed in, analyzed the situation, found it was the transfer case not the transmission, fixed it all at a very fair price out of respect for his service. As a parent of a Marine, I was happy for their honesty and good service. Thank you very much. read more

I have taken my 2001 F250 to Certified Transmission in Santee two times now. Dennis has been helpful in setting my appointments to change fluid and filter. John I believe has done the work. Both times the work was performed on time and price was as quoted. Seems to be fair to me! read more

I have a 2006 Dodge Dually Diesel with 130k miles. The transmission had shifting issues so I scanned it and it threw a code P7157 ( governed line pressure too low ) I decided to take it to Certified Transmission to get an estimate for repair, and I got a call back from the guy at the counter. He told me that they found metal shavings inside the pan and had signs of transmission wear and it would need a complete overhaul. He told me it would cost me anywhere from 4200 to 4800 for repairs. I wanted to get a second opinion because I take extremely good care of my vehicles and had a funny feeling about his estimate. I had it towed to a reputable business ( East County Diesel ) that was recommended by a good friend and after inspection and tests performed on the vehicle it came back with the same conclusion I had. It needed a Pressure Valve Body, adjust the bands and replaced the transmission Throttle valve. All in all I got my vehicle back and it runs better then ever. The technician told me that the pan had no metal shavings and there was nothing wrong with the gears or bands. The cost to do all this work and still did adjustments to the valves and also included transmission service was way less then what Certified was trying to charge me for some bogus work. Right after receiving my truck I drove it back to Certified to let them know what I though about their estimate. The technician had an attitude and basically rushed me out of the shop. I really hate to do this but I don't want anyone falling for what seemed to me a scam! Be careful and make sure to do your homework or get a second opinion before shelling out that kind of money. Beware!!!! read more

I am a happy camper!! It was a great experience with my transmission repair so a BIG YAY shout out!!! And thanks to John and Cindy what a team!!! I hate when something on my truck breaks because It is always an expensive cost, but not this time. I brought my RAV4 to Certified Transmission in Santee on the referral of Asmars Auto Care after an engine steam clean at Asmars. Dennis at Certified Transmission is great at listening to your concerns & suggested a diagnostic service to be sure my transmission is in good shape. The next day, my RAV eval was complete. Dennis described how they performed the diagnostics & confirmed that my transmission is not leaking & is operating as it should. I appreciate the thorough inspection & integrity of the entire team at Certified Transmission. Peace of mind is worth the check up. read more

Great service. I had my entire transmission replaced with them. They gave me a 2 week window when it would be done, they had my vehicle about 26 hours and it was done! The women at the desk is very friendly, and the owner whom I only interacted by phone is very profesional. Being a female I run into issues in the automotive industry with being talked down to. I have 20 something yrs of experience working in cars, several engine rebuilds, and one transmission rebuild (on a different veichle) so it gets frustrating. He was profesional explained what was wrong and what he suggested to do. I had gone in just wanting to replace it but he still wanted to do his own diagnoses which is understandable. I knew it wasn't worth fixing. His price was cheaper then most other places plus his warranty is longer and nation wide. read more

I found this transmission shop using yelp and google reviews. The staff here are top notch, fair and not at all your typical pushy salesmen. Our car was diagnosed, assessed and fixed the same day. I have been "fighting" with my C4 Transmission leak for over a year. I put in new seals, and three pan gaskets and Lots ofTransmission fluid. I was not happy with the old girl as she kept leaving red puddles everywhere I parked. I put in a request for help on Yelp and several shops called me all trying to sell me a full rebuild. Up to $1,800. I can by a new one for less and put it in myself. Certified called and I spoke to Cindy. She said to bring it down and they would check it out, no charge. I dropped it off on Monday, they check it out and fixed the leak, adjusted the linkage and shifter. Kept it over night to make sure it did not leak. Finally I can park it with out worries. O and all that under $200. These guys are great. I would recommend these guys all day. Friendly and professional. read more

LIEFSAVERS! Yep, that's what they are. The day before Valentine's day my son in-law had plans to drive out about 2 hour distance. While he was picking up some last minute gifts his car broke down. The sound the car did made my son in-law think the transmission just gave out. I did some research and found these guys and boy am I "Happy" I did! They were fast, friendly, and professional, but their most powerful trait was their honesty. They towed the car for free and told my son in-law that it wasn't the transmission. The part and labor to get the car fixed would be a total of $500. What a relief. The car was fixed the very next day and is running amazing. Thank you to everyone at Certified Transmission, you've gained a life long customer. read more

John and team provided excellent service . We had all three of our cars serviced at the Santee facility. The price is very reasonable compared to the dealer estimate.
