Doing our routine vehicle inspection before sending our most expensive truck back into the field. Key turns, engine starts and all chaos ensued. Loud noises we've never heard before. Shut off the engine and while looking under the front bumper, OUT FALLS A RAT!! Sharpe Automotive was our first call. Dean Sharpe dropped everything, showed up in less than 10 minutes and explain what happened. The rat made a home in our filter housing. When we started the engine, this little guy must have been pulled into the belt. Engine cooling fan blade assembly damaged, with one blade broken and another blade cracked. The fan-clutch wiring bracket was also broken, and the fan-clutch wiring had been stretched after the broken drive belt became twisted around it. The belt tensioner was broken in half, and the drive belt was broken. Dean, somehow, drove the truck to Sharpe Automotive without power steering and had it back and fixed in less than 24 hours. Such a phenomenal experience we had to make a reel about it. Thank you Sharpe Automotive team. You performed a miracle in a moment we needed it most. read more

Sharpe Automotive for the second time has done a wonderful job on our older vehicles. Previously we had been in with a 2000 Excursion that was having a problem staying running on the freeway. We had it towed to them from another repair shop who couldn't figure out the problem whatsoever and they quickly figured it out. Now just recently we took our F350 Dually to have it gone through to run better and not jeopardize the engine. They went through and explained everything in detail then performed all the work and the truck is running better than it has in years. A very long and extensive list and we are so happy with the results! read more

First rate operation, professional service. They did a great job replacing a radiator on my 2017 Chrysler 300. Detailed and informative inspection report and easy to understand quotes made the process easy. I felt well informed. I will come back if a need arises. read more

Highly recommend. I was very pleased with their service! The Diagnostic seemed pricey at first (around $175.00), but so glad I did it! They were very thorough. Even listing that the *Windshield nozzle was broken off. Haha. That proved to me that they were good at what they do and looking at everything. After going to Firestone 3 times, with no solution to a intermittent brake light on the dash coming on and then the ESP light, they solved it. Turns out the level was sticking on the brake fluid and I needed a flush. But, they found a bigger problem with bad shocks. I also had almost no oil! WTH? I had just had a complete service 5 months before. Keep in mind that I had been back to Firestone 2 times after. I don't work, so not alot of driving except to pick up donations for Animal Rescue. All local. And local errands. Sharpe was very honest, even with the repair quote. Instead of saying you need to fix it all, they advised what should be done now. They provided a very detailed Diagnostic and actually gave it to me with all the comments. I asked about the next item, brakes, and they gave me a full quote and breakdown. *By the way, ordered 2 new Windshield fluid nozzles. They said pop by will install them. No Charge. May not seem like a big deal to some. But, it was to me and they pulled a mechanic out to do it. Thank you! read more

This place is the most professional shop I've been to. If you can't figure out what is wrong with your vehicle, take it to them. The fee is so worth it. Their inspection includes pictures. They also offer military discount. Highly recommend! The team is also very professional and friendly. read more

Took my c8 corvette in for a transmissions filter and fluid change. The Chevy dealership quoted me $1600. Sharp did it for $1200. On time same day. Thanks. read more

Went in for a check engine light on a 2006 Tacoma. After being told it would take a couple hours to check but then it actually taking all day while I wandered around Santee with no truck, they came back with an estimate for a catalytic convertor for a total of $3300. I went home to think about that exorbitant price tag as it seems like a dealership price. While at home I found an old invoice from this same shop showing that I had actually already had the catalytic convertor replaced 20,000 miles ago. No one mentioned this when going in for the new estimate. They touted OEM parts, as if the original cat was still in the truck but it was actually the aftermarket part that they had welded in, not that long ago. They explained that cats can go bad if the truck is burning oil. There is nothing wrong with the truck other than this. No reason for this to fail so soon, other than a sh** part that they bought and or a sh** weld job. Was given no help, no discounts, no I'm sorrys as they do not stand by their work. They literally said that they do not warranty anything anymore. I mean, they chose the sh** part, there should be some guarantee that I wouldnt need a new cat every 20,000 miles. I know they dont last as long as OEM but come on and then them trying to argue that this is normal is insulting. Another item to note is that I was only charged $200 for labor for welding in the aftermarket cat but the new labor estimate is $700 and all you have to do is unscrew 4 bolts for the OEM cat (which as a women I guess I'm not supposed to know). As a military veteran and a female, I can not stress enough to not trust this shop. When we went there the first time, the owner was super nice as we were referred there by a fellow AMA D38 desert racer. We had an AC unit put in and we got a discount and they even gave my bf a Sharpe shirt. It was a nice, friendly, down to earth shop. Now its sterile, impersonal, and untrustworthy. With hundreds of shops to chose from, best to pass on this one. read more

Called Sharpe Automotive this morning, hoping to get an oil change done on a Friday before Labor Day weekend. Dean was able to fit the job in today's schedule as long as I could bring it in sooner than later. Wifey followed in a separate car while I dropped off and we would return in a few hours. Received text updates when the job was in process and after the vehicle was ready this afternoon. Dean reviewed the completed services along with recommended service items from normal use (tires) and preventative items to consider from the OEM maintenance schedule (spark plugs, serpentine belt) for budgeting ahead. We were delighted to get the overdue oil change done on the same day and appreciate the explanation on upcoming maintenance costs. Thank you to the team at Sharpe Auto! Have an excellent weekend. read more

I appreciate how transparent and fair they were through the whole process. We have been bringing our fleet of vehicles into Sharp for several years now. They are always honest and up front about repairs needed. What I like best is that if they mess up on something they own it and don't pass the blame. They stand by their word and make it right. You don't see that these days and that's a good quality to have. Thanks for always taking care of us. read more

I'm so happy to have finally found Sharpe Automotive. Recommended by my son who has taken his Jeeps here for everything. They are truly hands down the best place for servicing. I needed an engine oil housing unit done on my Jeep and dropped off late in the day on a Thursday. I was called at 1:30 pm Friday to let me know the work has been completed. I didn't expect my car back until Monday. They were very thorough and reasonable with exceptional customer service from beginning to end and explained everything to me. WOW ! I am impressed and highly recommend to anyone needing anything done !! Thank you! It's very rare you find good honest people anymore and this place did not disappoint. I will definitely be back. read more

I fully recommend Sharpe Automotive. They are extremely professional. Every person I encountered in this business was extremely courtesy, polite and took the time to engage with me. This shop was a recommendation from my regular mechanic. He was swamped so he referred me to one of the mechanics at Sharpe Auto - Fernie. I have a C5 Corvette and they replaced/upgraded my clutch and freshened up my torque tube. Fernie was absolutely a pleasure to work with. He kept me informed throughout the entire process. He even took pictures and video which I was able to see them on Instagram. I've never had any mechanic or shop give that level of inclusion. I cannot say enough good things about Fernie and Sharpe Automotive. Even the service after the sale was on point. He shot me a text after to ask how things were going which never happens. Fernie and Sharpe Automotive will definitely get my business and all of my referrals. Do yourself a favor and get any and all of your automotive needs completed at Sharpe Automotive. Any Corvette or LS/LT motor work, Fernie is your guy!!! Check him out on Instagram at ferniebuilt. Outstanding is all I can say!!!!! read more

Sharpe Automotive - My C5 Covette - Auto Repair Near Me - Santee, California

This place is honest and reputable. That is hard to find these days without them wanting to sell you things you don't need. I took my sons truck in for a brake check (light wouldn't go off) and they thoroughly checked everything to make sure it was safe. It needed an instrument panel due to a malfunction but was honest and told me if I said yes they would talk me out of it. It wasn't worth the money for something as costly as it was and I appreciate their honesty. I just felt better knowing the brakes were good and functioning correctly. Customer service was great and they were in time with their appointment and when it would be ready. I will definitely recommend this place and bring all my vehicles there. We had our brakes done on our motor home a few months back and the price was fair and they had it done in a decent amount of time. Very thorough and honest. read more

I traveled from Oklahoma on my way to La Paz. In San Diego I noticed my wheel seal leaking on my low mileage still under warranty Ford Truck. The dealership was two weeks out from making the repair. By chance I walked into Dean's shop around 10 am. He replaced both wheel seals and replaced the oil soaked brake pads and had me out the door on my way to Mexico by 3 pm. What's even better he filed the repair on my warranty and I was reimbursed three weeks later for the entire bill. I was so thankful for Dean and his technicians. read more

XLNT. Customer service. Reasonable and they do great work! Wont go anywhere else. Highly recommend

So this place was amazing. We are from out of town and had an issue with a coil and spark plug. Stopped in and talked to Rick and Dean. They took it around back and fixed the issue in like 15 min. He said have a great day and did not even charge us for the time or issue. Nice to know that there are still business and people who care. We ate from Sacramento and passing threw, back on the road in 15 min.that never happens. Great job guys and highly recommended you to anyone! Thank you! read more

This place hands down was a breeze to go to! My boyfriend works next door and all the work vehicles go here for any service so we figured we would take my car here since there were a couple concerns we had! Mike and all the gentlemen who work there were super great and kind! I brought in a pretty hefty list of what I was concerned about and Mine was straight up and honest with me about pricing. I didn't once feel overwhelmed, ripped off or any negative vibes. I was able to get what I needed done and decide what to do with the rest after hearing more of my options. I would highly suggest you give them a try! read more

It is so hard to find a mechanic that you can trust and doesn't just try to Jack your bill. I have been to Sharpe Automotive twice now with issues that at others places I was quoted huge amounts and Dean found the problems were actually minor. Even though he could have told me the worst and charged me tons, he didn't. Honest, nice, quick. Sharpe Automotive has a customer for life and I will tell everyone I know about this rare find. Dean at Sharpe Automotive is the most knowledgeable, ethical business owner I have ever had the pleasure to work with. He has current certifications and keeps up his professional development to stay on the cutting edge of technology and repair. He has fixed our son's Kia Optima twice now (a year apart, two completely separate issues) and he saved us money by recommending that we contact Kia about an extended service warranty that we would have had no idea about otherwise. He is the kind of person the world needs - ethical, kind, knowledgeable! We will go to him for all of our auto repair needs without a doubt! Thank you, Dean and the Sharpe Automotive Team! read more

If you need a reliable trustworthy mechanic I would proudly recommend Sharpe Automotive. Dean has worked on my car before he opened his own shop, and I can honestly say he is great. Alot of people are sketchy when it comes to mechanics but I never once felt that way. He let me know what was going on with my car in a way that I could understand him. There was one time I got an oil change at a diffrent place and they messed up and the next day my motor blew. Dean went over to that shop to let them know that there was another mechanic looking at there work. What mechanic do you know that would do that. Thank you Dean for looking out for my car and myself. read more
