Never in my life have I encountered an auto repair shop that was so responsive and kind. Todd and Casey saved me several times when my van broke down and always respond to my texts and calls within minutes! Never did they make any questions I had seem too small or stupid, i always left confident my car was fixed. I appreciate how they truly take the time to explain the issues with my vehicle, break down the costs of repairs and my van runs great after its fixed! I will only bring all my vehicles here from here on out and would highly recommend them to everyone who needed their cars repaired. read more

Todd and team performed a PPI inspection for me and they were very thorough and excellent to deal with. Would defiantly go back for any auto needs! read more

Cool honest people work here I had a complicated issue and instead of messing with it they referred me to another shop.

Had an issue with leaking seals and a rough ride on my 2015 Ram 3500 4x4 DRW. Todd's attitude and his shop, told me I stumbled across a place that loves cars, trucks, boats. Lots of beautiful classics are brought to this shop. Barracuda, Studebakers, a DelRey. Many many more. My thinking is that people that own these classics, are not going to trust just anyone to work on their babies. Not only did Todd and his crew fix my issues with new seals and new shocks, he showed me the worn parts and took the time to make sure I understand the the work that was done and why it was needed. He also found that I had water in my differential. They addressed that problem free of charge. And it's not like other shops where you may question about whether something was actually needed or not. The shocks he thought would work were a bit short so he gave me 4 new proper gas shocks, each $35 more x 4... thats ANOTHER savings of $140! We left a 2nd car there because we knew it was in good hands. On my way home I had an unrelated issue. I told Todd about it via text and he made some suggestions. Now I live 2 hours from Cool Masters so I can't just jump in my truck and head there. But Todd continues to text me to see how it's going. He knew I was suppose to be heading out today to buy a new 5th wheel so he continues to check in with us. His love and passion for cars is awesome and his customer service is better than that! An auto repair shop I can trust... ? Yep. Found it. read more

Above and beyond the best experience I have ever had with a car mechanic. He is honest and made the repairs my old Toyota Sienna needed to pass smog and run well. The dealership quoted me over $10,000 and his repair was $1,000. Finding Cool Master Automotive is like hitting the jackpot. He texted me images of what they removed and replaced and kept me in the loop as soon as it was ready to pick up. No question about it. This is a business that deserves a lot of gratitude and recognition. read more

On my drive to work a heard a belt snap. I knew my car was then not drivable so I looked up the first auto body shop in the area. When they called they said they could fix it today, and I take these time estimates with a grain of salt. Within two hours, they had messaged me that my car was finished and good as new. The gentleman apologized for taking so long and I was shocked as it was only two hours and my car was not operable beforehand! Staff was incredibly friendly and efficient. You can tell they care about your car and they will not return it unless they're sure it's fixed. I will bring my car here from now on for ANYTHING I need. I would not recommend any other auto repair shop. read more

Dropped my car off to diagnose an AC issue before a drive back to Arizona. Todd and his team inspected the car and found a broken hose, unfortunately it could not be repaired or replaced in the few hours I had available. No charge so I appreciated the time he took to have a look and advise. Thanks Todd! read more

After posting a need of service due to an engine misfire, Todd was one of the first to reach out through yelp offering a phone consultation to discuss in further detail what was going on with my car. Todd was very quick to respond to my call and eager to provide resource as best and as quick as he could. Even offering me options for drop off over the weekend when the shop was closed, which saved me from having to call off work to contend with my vehicle issues. Todd went over and beyond, keeping me in the loop, providing quality service and test driving to ensure my vehicle was running the way it should when it came time to pick up. read more

Todd is a cool dude. Kept me informed every step of the way. Definitely recommend him and his team for all your auto needs.

My car overheated on the way to work and I had a tow truck take my car to closest dealership. Of course the dealership wanted an astronomical amount of money for something that was relatively easy to repair. So I turned to Yelp and found Cool Master Automotive. There place is a Real Blessing. They are Professional, Honest, and the Communication with Outstanding. There is No Double Talk or BS like you get with dealing with a lot of automotive mechanics. The service Is Outstanding and the repair cost are reasonable. They also guarantee their work. I would definitely use this company again in the future!! read more

The guys at cool master are good very helpful. Good prices always takes care of his customers.

Initially went in to Todd to see why my jeep wouldn't start like it should. I was told by another mechanic that it would be my transmission when it ended up being my battery. I ended up having some engine leaks that needed a bunch of work and the engine pulled out. Todd was sending pictures of my engine throughout the whole process, he was absolutely amazing and very communative the whole time even sending me pictures of my engine and what needed to be replaced. Upon picking up my jeep he went through all the parts with me again (they were laid out on the ground for me to see) I was really nervous finding a new mechanic since I am not from here but now I am assured I have an amazing and honest one! One of his guys even got bored and popped out a big part of a dent I had from running into a pole which made it look so much better!I highly recommend this shop and the team and I will be using them for any future needs for me jeep! Thanks again Todd and Cool Master! Services: Battery, Engi read more

I was selling a 16 year old car that was going to be driven from San Diego to Spokane. I explained the specifics to Todd. Not only did he and his crew deliver ahead of schedule on major necessary repairs, he was able to come in under his initial quote. He takes customer satisfaction the extra mile by explaining the reason for the repairs and showing you the replaced parts so you understand he didn't do the repair for no reason. The car made it the long trip and continues to be a solid daily driver despite its age. There's literally no reason to take your car anywhere else. read more

Good honest mechanic. Those are hard to find these days. Reasonable pricing and overall just nice people. I have already recommended them to friends looking for a place to take their car. I don't own a classic car but they had a few of those around so it seems like they do old and new stuff. read more

We feel totally scammed by the owner. Took our 2013 suburban in to have a transcooler installed, he talks us into replacing the suspension system as well after telling him we wanted better towing capabilities. He charged us over 3 grand and replaces our suspension with $89 shocks and springs, removes our air suspension system as well. Come to find out after taking the truck to a legitimate off road company, the shocks that were initially installed were over $700 a piece that worked hand-in-hand with the air suspension system. It already had the best suspension system set up for towing. Now the truck floats in the rear while driving. It's no longer stable. We asked him about this and his response was "well you drove it and said you were satisfied". We were just happy to see our truck after leaving it there for a month! In addition, he talks us into buying this engine programming device, which is worthless. Paid over a 1000 bucks for that. We found out that we could have bought something similar for 300 bucks. Listen, I know buyer beware and all, but it's unfortunate considering this guy was referral, so we went in trusting him. All in all, we truly feel like we got scammed. Think twice before taking your vehicle to this guy. It's going to cost us over 4 grand to replace everything he did. Essentially just to bring it back to the way it was. read more

Todd is awesome! knows his stuff and happy to answer questions! the work was done professionally and quickly! we'll be back!

Charlie is the man! Could not have been more happier with my service here!!! Just right when the devil's foot hit San Diego's tar roads, I knew if I didn't want to look like a sweaty hot mess this summer, I needed to get my ac fixed. Today it soared to a sweltering 96 degrees! I died and felt my soul go ask the ac gods for help. Which lead me here. Fast and friendly. Straight honest service. Stay cool. read more

My whole family takes their cars here along with a few other people I know. I really wouldn't trust my baby with anyone else. They get busy so its best to make appointments but twice Ive had to have my car towed and they always made time for me. 1 star for free candy/cookies while you wait. 2 stars for fast service 3 stars for a very friendly staff that answers my endless questions about my car. 4 stars for a great price. 5 stars for the owners being Christian. They get lots of business so you know they are good and won't mess with your car so you have to comeback. I was there yesterday picking up my car and even though there were 4 people waiting and the phone was ringing off the hook the owner was making sure everything was good with my car and letting me know how I can prevent over heating my car. read more

Always great, always reliable. I've taken my car here a few times now, and Lynn has helped me out big time. More recently he fixed the Intake Manifold Gasket, and was more than happy to give me a breakdown, in detail of all my current codes. My water pump has been leaking for about a year, and I'll be back in a few weeks to get more work on the car. Won't go to another mechanic, as long as Cool Master is in business. Both times I took my car in, their shop appeared completely full, but the work still managed to be done by the end of the day. read more

They was awesome. Fixed my car same day, communicated well with me and didn't overcharge. Family owned so they're genuine and Todd was super nice. I will definitely be coming back. read more

As I was looking for a reliable, upfront mechanic I was referred to Cool Master Automotive by a friend. My first time experience was good and he temporarily fixed my car issues but afterwards the calling part for almost 2 weeks when I suggested to set up an appointment. I understand people get busy but I am on a deadline like anyone else and my car isn't getting any healthier . This would have been my mechanic but I must continue to other mechanics that will pencil me in for appointments instead of calling to see if there is any available spots. Thank you for temporarily fixing my car issues but I need a more permanent solution. read more

Transmission went out in my truck, Todd and the guys were on it on putting the truck in the lift and getting it replaced. Much quicker and easier to get a hold of then going to a dealership to get the work done. I will be using them again on all work done to my trucks and cars read more

Absolutely pleased with Cool Master Automotive, incredibly professional. Affordable, friendly, incredibly communicative and Todd explains everything right down to the penny. I'm going to them from now on for all my automotive needs. read more

This business gets one star for at least knowing how to hire a good employee. Todd the owner gets defensive very quickly. Todd did not admit he made a mistake the first time and blamed it on the part and the tool. When I picked up my truck for the 2nd time for the same leak I was asking about a new leak that wasn't ever there before in which he overreacted with excuses and didnt know how to talk rationally so it just eneded with him walking away. I know we are all human and we all make mistakes but a business will only grow if the owner knows how to deal with problems and clearly this owner has no idea how to do that. I will never go back to this shop. read more

I am so thankful for friends who give awesome recommendations! Found myself in need of some brake/rotor work and was told to see Todd at Cool Master Automotive. I am so glad I did! Todd was awesome from start to finish. He was great on the phone and was able to fit me in. I left my car overnight and he kept me updated throughout the next day as to the cost, etc. I had my car back that afternoon and it's driving great! The crew at Cool Master are all great to interact with. I will definitely be coming back to get some more TLC for my car. I trust these guys. I take all my cars there for service and repair. Todd is always upfront with cost and awesome about letting me potential issues down the road . They never pressure you to fix all at once which makes it nice . I trust their work to never leave me stranded. I'm currently restoring a 1975 Chevy Blazer that I bought in 1980. I basically grew up in this ride and have taken it all over the Southwest and Baja. My friend, who has a tricked out Sportsmobile, told me about Cool Master and said its the best place in San Diego for 4x4 custom work, he knows how I feel about my Blazer and would never steer me wrong on my K-5. I met Todd and dropped off the K-5 and then I went to AZ, next thing that happened was the pandemic hit and I was stuck out there. Todd looked after my truck for over a month till I could get back, and when I did he refused a cash payment for doing so. The work has been excellent and very well priced for a custom shop, if you have a special ride, or any ride for that matter, I highly recommend Todd and his talented crew at Cool Master to get your motor running! read more

The owners Lynn and Shelly were so nice and accommodating. It was refreshing and a pleasant surprise especially in the car repair business. They offer candy, biscotti and water while you wait. My first time experience at this family biz and I couldn't be more happier and satisfied with my choice. I brought in my wife's 2005 Mazda Miata and Lynn did a great job in doing all the necessary repairs with no hi-pressure upsell. He was honest and trustworthy (he even showed me the full synthetic fluids he was going to use and the dirt that collected on my tranny and differential drain plugs) all at an excellent price. I would highly recommend them! read more

Brought in my 2019 Ram Rebel to have a BDS lift, wheels, and tires installed. A friend has had his Jeep into Cool Master Automotive for similar work, and he referred me to the shop. I am so thankful he did! I had the pleasure of speaking with Todd and Jesse and both were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The BDS kit isn't simply a 'bolt-on' loft kit, so I wanted to have it professionally installed. A professional installation is exactly what I got. Furthermore the customer service is absolutely phenomenal. Upon dropping off my truck, I was getting ready to request a Lyft. Before I could order a Lyft, Jesse offered to drop me off at my house. Todd kept me updated on the progress of the truck throughout the entire process. The professionalism, courtesy, and attention to detail will keep me coming back to Cool Master Automotive as I build more vehicles. It is with absolutely no hesitation that I highly recommend Cool Master Automotive. read more

Todd and the crew at Cool Masters are top notch! I unfortunately blew the engine in my car, and they were very upfront about pricing and the length of time it would take to repair my car. Todd spent the time to find the best parts for the best price, yet my repairs were always done in a timely manner. Every other issue I've had since, they have been fast and very inexpensive. Not only did I get a breakdown, in English, as to what was done and why it had to be done, but they've also taught me things about my car in the process (shown me parts, etc). They are passionate about cars, and they are inexpensive! They've won me as a customer for life! read more

Been looking for a new shop and was told about this place by a friend. When I called, they were eager to help, even shuffling around their schedule to get me in sooner. Upon my arrival, I was greeted with a smile and some licorice. Lynn jumped under my car and pinpointed the problem right away. The part was replaced in no time and he even gave me a printout of what else my car needed. After Lynn prioritized them for me, I made an appointment to come back and get the other work started. Everything about my experience here has brought me to the conclusion that I will be back. Thank you Lynn and Cool Master for renewing my faith in the auto repair industry. read more

Feels like family! The first time I had my truck serviced with the folks at Cool Masters was for some elusive problem that the Dodge dealer couldn't diagnose. They went way out of their way to track and diagnose the problem without overcharging me like the dealers. I felt like they made a personal effort to get it right! Now I bring both of my vehicles for prevention, and all maintenance. Trust, knowledge, and passion is what I experience each and every time I use their services. It's a rare quality and I suggest you take the time to get to know your local neighborhood mechanics. Cool Masters is just that...everything is in the name! read more
