I brought my vehicle in for a whining in the power steering, was quoted $1600 for a new power steering pump + rack & pinion. A week later my lower passenger side ball joint fell out while I was driving, luckily not on the freeway. I came in to let the business know they misdiagnosed my vehicle, and showed them pictures as well. The manager Mike greeted me very rudely and told me that they can't predict the future, and it's an old vehicle. Then ended the conversation with a remark of "I'm trying to close up the shop" instead of addressing or caring about my concerns. Thank goodness my children were not in the car when it happened. I would not recommend this place to anyone for any reason, they will not make sure your vehicle is safe for the roads, your family or others. read more

I messaged them on Yelp the day before Thanksgiving. Keep in mind that this is a holiday where many people travel and they need their vehicles to do so. Mike, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. I asked if he could help me diagnose why my check engine light came on. He could have easily said no, they were busy (which they definitely were). He used his mobile diagnosis machine to detect what the error message was. I really appreciated his time and generosity. Visit your local shops and support them! This was my first time using a mobile mechanic- in the past I've either brought my car somewhere, had my car towed somewhere, or finished jobs I started in my driveway on my own. Watched a couple YouTube videos on replacing front end struts & started the job myself at home ... and managed to get the old struts out but after multiple attempts to install the new struts I realized I couldn't do it- and now the car was in no position to be moved... yikes! Other people's reviews pointed me to A&M in my area and I am so glad to have had the pleasure to interact with their office staff & the tech who came out to my driveway- it's like working with family (those you like to work with) & left me more than satisfied that the job was now done. I called yesterday with a lady stating she will see what they have available and she will call me back . I never got called back .. and no I didn't call to late I called around 3 . We live in North County and Mike was able to squeeze us into the schedule for his mobile van that was up in the area already that day. His employees quickly assessed and figured out the issue. I just couldn't see taking my car to my old place anymore. No matter how many times I told them what the problem was they always charged us for diagnostic ($75) just to tell them what we already knew. So, Mike was referred to us by a neighbor about three years ago and we've been taking our vehicles there ever since. He's honest and very trustworthy. We never need to go back for the same problem twice. Recently, my husband's car wouldn't start for him so we called up Mike. He was going to make repairs on site however, the part was going to come later in the day. He came over to our place, picked up the car and took it back to his shop. We got a call back to confirm it was what I had previously suggested and now our vehicle is up and running even better before. There was an incident when a mechanic caused damage to one of our vehicles. Mike had all the damage repaired and reduced the cost of our bill drastically to compensate for the damage. Based on reviews from Yelp, I took my car to A&M. I'm surprised I had not checked this place out previously since it is only a couple of miles from my home and I like to keep things local if I can. Anyway, I stopped by yesterday to inquire about a tune up for my car. I met Mike and he took a look at my car, went to check if he had the necessary parts on hand and I made an appointment for this morning. I arrived to drop my car off and expected to walk home and return later. He said he could have the job done quickly if I wanted to wait. About 45 minutes later, the job was done! Called ahead to get a quote on replacing a power steering line and belt on my Honda Odyssey, was given a really great quote over the phone (lower than I had expected) I was told that they could have the work done the same day if I brought it in early enough. Well, things did not go as planned the next morning and I was late with bringing it to the shop. THEY STILL completed the work the same day....AND at the price that I was quoted. I half expected to be told that the final price was going to be higher than what I was quoted... (so many others do the old "bait & switch" thing) This did not happen. Mike was very courteous and professional and was straight up with me.... as was the receptionist there (sorry, I cannot remember her name.... but she was very friendly and professional) There was no "up-sell" BS involved here.
