Called around for a leveling kit for my 2024 Silverado for a couple days. Went with the Bilstein shocks. They put my old shocks in my truck for future swap before I return my lease. Truck looks badass now! I'm bad with names but the dudes there are top-notch. They matched the prices of their competitors, super knowledgeable, have a couch & all the streaming services if you choose to wait, and even suggested the possible before & after photo/video which I would've regretted not having. In an era of scammers and bad actors, these guys did me right. Glad I didn't go down the "National City cheap shop rabbit hole" and opted to spend my money here. Drove home with confidence. Went back after 500 miles for a free inspection and tightening and they threw in a license plate frame. Sweet! read more

I had these installed on 5/20/20. I do not offroad since this is my daily driver. When I originally had them installed the top nut holding my shock on came off and my shock was flopping around my coil( thats the super stripped one) the other fell off was well, causing it to be stripped as well. I took my truck back to the shop and one of the guys in the shop came walking out with a Modelo beer in his hand and said he would work on it. I was stupid enough to allow him to work on my truck. When I asked him what he did, he said he just put another nut on it. He said he rethreded the shock and it was fine. Well see above, this is what a trained tech did at an overpriced establishment. It only took me taking my truck to this place once to figure ill never go back to such a shitty business. Be careful, if you need work to your vehicle done, take it anywhere else, ANYWHERE! read more

How often does one read a review of a vehicle suspension product site? I was in Coronado at the Silver Strand SB campground and discovered 2 torn out shackle plates on my 5th wheel rear axle. Thinking I could replace them myself, I searched the internet for a supplier and found SoCal Suspension. I made the trek and purchased a pair of plates, only to find that I did not have the heavy duty tools necessary to replace them. I cobbled together a temp fix to get my rig home and ended taking the rig to a mechanic whoo replaced ALL of my worn out hangers and brackets. Kudos to SoCal as they had the parts available that no one else had. read more

I never leave yelp reviews but wanted to give a shout out to the entire SoCal Suspension team. Extremely friendly/knowledgeable. Upgraded suspension with Bilstein 5100's to get some extra lift to fit 33's with no trim work. Very impressed by quality of work and got me in and out within 1/2 day. I had spoke to Chris on the phone for my quote, and scheduled the installation for the day after Memorial Day. I brought my truck in to SoCal Suspension, dropped my keys in the key bin and left. They began work early Tuesday and by the time I had my lunch break, they had been working on it all morning. I spoke to Chris again at noon, and he said they should have it done the same day. Heck yeah! When I got off work at 4:30pm, I headed straight for their shop, excited to see my ride.. When I got there, they were done, and had just finished their test drive. I chatted with them for a minute, paid, and I was out. Minimal communication is needed when you deal with experts. I am thoroughly pleased with the results, and fully recommend these guys! Came to find this shop via a family members referral and ended up getting suspension work done on my 4Runner. The initial customer service (pre suspension work being done) was great. All my questions were answered and was extremely happy with the end result. However, given this was the first I'd put suspension on my vehicle and given my newness to off-roading I didn't realize that the install later down the road was extremely subpar. One of my rear shocks was installed with the reservoir hose pointed down towards the wheel causing rubbing against the tire. After contacting the shop I was told over the phone if they tried to adjust the hose it could damage the shock, etc. and basically not to worry about the tire rubbing given hose thickness. I thought for the money spent on suspension / their install this was a pretty poor response. Being located in Corona I went to a local suspension shop who informed me a bolt just needed to be loosened to adjust the hose placement. Additionally, I learned they also didn't bend the reservoir bracket correctly causing it to press up against the wheel well. All in all, I thought these guys did quality work but didn't get that experience and ended up having to pay another shop to complete a job they should have done from the beginning. read more

In July, I brought my 2013 Mazdaspeed 3 to see if the team could resolve my premature tire wear and alignment issues after I had installed a Bilstein B8 shock/strut kit. Chris and Wayne had the techs look at the suspension set up and gave me a couple of recommendations on how to bring the alignment back into spec and an estimate on the cost without any pressure to choose one option over another. After deciding on installing a set of SPC UCAs in the rear suspension, the techs went to work after I brought the parts in. They were able to install the UCAs and perform a 4-wheel alignment that brought the suspension back into spec. The car now rides smoothly, tracks straight, and wears evenly on all four tires. I chose SoCal Suspension based on the consistently positive Yelp reviews and because they employ our military Veteran's. I could not be more pleased with the results, so I brought in my suspension-challenged 06 Sequoia in October. The Sequoia had over 175,000 miles on it, with many of the original suspension components (UCA, LCA, UBJ, OTRE) still in place. After another thorough assessment and a discussion with Chris to narrow down what I planned on doing with the, car several options were presented, all of which involved replacing most of the components in the front suspension. The biggest decision involved sorting out which set of shocks/struts would work best to level out the Toyota rake. We settled on a Bilstein 6112 kit for the front and 5100 for the rear, OEM UCA/LCA, Moog UBJ, and AC Delco OTRE since I had already replaced the LBJs, end links, and steering rack bushings in the previous 6 months. I also asked the techs to look at the front wheel bearings while everything was apart, which were assessed to still be in good condition. The end result when I got the Sequoia back after a couple of days was amazing. It sits level, glides over bumps, doesn't nose dive when braking, and tracks smooth and straight. It's awesome! Bottom line - if you need suspension work done, this is the place to go. I appreciated the team listening to what I wanted, presented some solutions, and did the work to make it happen. No fuss, no drama - just doing the work with pride and attention to detail. read more

I had a titan lift installed with this facility, and I will NOT recomend any one to trust these people with your truck, they advertise 4" lift on Craigs list for $950.00 and 6" lift for $1,850, they do not do a good job at all, their 4"cst spindle lift they install rides very poorly. do not let them install their "add a leaf" you will have a very rough ride. I gave these people three opportunities to correct these problems and not one of those time did they do is right. FIRST VISIT--I brought to Eric's attention about my rough ride over speed bumps even at 1-3 mph over them it felt like I was jumping over them. After explaining to him that I had personally checked them out my self, and comcluded they were the wrong shocks with not enough play in them to allow for full suspension travel they were fully compressed and at every speed bum they had no more compression left in them thus why it was making for a rough ride. All he did was grabbed some other shock and guess what they were'nt even the right size at all way too long again. I gave up on the shocks when i realized it was also the add a leaf. SECOND VISIT---I returned to have Eric take out the add a leaf and installed a 1 1/8 lift block, to make the rear suspension ride better and not have the add a leaf. ( I bought block my self ) I left the truck there for about 3 hours I returned to pick it up and I figured after the first visit any one whom wants to run a reputable business would remember a previous mistake, and would make sure second visit was that of making it all right.. Guess what they didn't as soon as I picked it up from the shop, and my wife was foloowing me she noticed bolts falling out from the rear end, and immediately begun to feel a bad vibration on the back of the truck.........NO LIE they left my REAR tires completely loose, one of them was about to fall out. I had to pull into the NISSAN dealer and called to have ERIC fix on the lot, this is where it gets better the excuse given was this " Sorry man you have bad luck or something" I got mad and replied no " you need to pay attention to your work" He stated a girl had come to the shop and needed a ride home after droping her truck off and his mechanics scrambled to take her home in the middle of my repair., and his mechanic forgot to make sure his work was done, and ERIC completely overlooked his mechanics mistake and did not even test drive....... here is a list of things they did wrong from the begining 1---FRONT passenger side Lower controll arm bolt left loose 2---NO front brake lines installed as recomended. 3---WRONG rear shoks used both times ( Second Times) 4---Add a leaf installed should of used 1 1/8 block 5---NO carrier bearing installed (this corrects vibrations felt) 6---REAR wheels not tighten to spec ( on third visit ) DO NOT GO THERE YOU WILL GET WHAT YO PAID FOR VERY POOR JOB DONE Save a little money and have it done right go to the 4wheel store, or ORW. These are reasons why they are in the business, unlike So Cal suspension I had to correct all issues my self, it wasn't really that hard to do once I figured out easy bolt ons by the way I tried posting comments on google or yahoo and could not. 5/5 Stars! I want to give a massive shout-out to Ryan at SoCal Suspension. I was having a difficult time trying to find a specific part for my vehicle today, and even though he didn't have it in stock at his shop, he still went completely out of his way to assist me. I sent him some pictures, and he knew exactly what part it was, told me where to look, and explained what to do to get it. He even told me to give him a call on Monday if I still couldn't track it down. Ryan knew right from the start that I might not be a paying client today, but he treated me with total respect and gave me the best advice ever. I have been going to Eric Conner the owner for all my vehicles for over 10 years now when he first started and was a mobile one man show. Back then he treated me like one of his family memders on the first time I met him and has never changed since even when I wasn't happy on how low one of my cars turned out. He just smiled and adjusted the suspension lower for me no charge and thanked me for being honest and letting him know that he wasn't happy with the ride height. What a pleasant experience. I called Eric twice with questions about lowering our 2014 GMC Siera SLT 4 wheel drive. We wanted lower to accommodate ease of entry and also to fit into the garage with the higher Leer shell. We also did not want to sacrifice the ride. We made an appointment and I was early. I fell asleep waiting for them to open. Eric was kind enough to let me wake up on my own and then completed the work. He even did some extra work at no charge. Much appreciated and would recommend them to everyone. He even insisted we stop back in for a check up to be sure all was working right and to look for loose parts. You can find my first review of SoCal Suspension below on 6/20/16. I just went back in for some additional work. Another 5 star review is certainly necessary. I had the suspension on my Tacoma tweaked a bit, I initially spoke with Nick, followed by shop owner Eric, on the day of my appointment they were both off at an event. Jeremy and Anthony greeted me very professionally and let me know what the plan was. I was in and out in just a few hours. If you're weary of "car guys," like I am, then this is the best place in San Diego by far! I took my car there for repair after an accident and was overwhelmed by how honest and professional everyone there was. They take their reputation seriously and were more focused on doing a great job on my car than taking advantage of me. I paid way less than I thought I would, got way better service and my car looks better than it did when it was new. The other cars I saw in the shop while mine was getting done looked amazing. I took my CVPI Crown Vic there for new shocks/struts. Nick immediately recognized it and referred to it by the sub-model name (a little bit of trivia that most shops/mechanics aren't familiar with). Wow what a place! These guys are awesome. Went in to talk about a lift, not sure if I was even going to commit and they won me over! Hands down the best shop in El Cajon. I was here on a trip from Illinois and when my air ride started having problems I was on the phone with Nick. Right away he knew what the problem was and got me the right parts to get my car going. Amazing customer service hands down. Nick set my truck up really clean for what I use it for. 2006 Dodge RAM 2500 4X4 Diesel for towing and some light occasional off road. We went with a 2.5" leveling kit,Bilstein shocks all around,Toyo all terrain tires 33" and some nfab running boards.The truck also had a slight pull that they were able to dial in with an in depth alignment. This might be lengthy, but these guys deserve every word and a few minutes of my time…read more 2007 honda civic si 2 door coupe with 80K on the odometer. I was saving it for my son when he turned 16. Now he's 16, but the problem is that he's the kind of kid that I don't have full confidence in when it comes to using a clutch and stick. Anyway, I (after looking around for about a year at new civics) decided, "Screw this. I'm not taking on a new car payment for the stuff they're offering. My '07 is awesome, it just needs a little tweak here and there. I'd rather restore what I've got for between $5-10k all in." The first thing was the clutch, because a mechanic at Shell f'd it up a few years back. So I buy the exedy racing clutch on Amazon and start hunting for someone to install it. Just for giggles, I went to Honda in Kearney Mesa (San Diego) to get a quote. Labor alone? $2,652 with a timeline of 24-36 hours. Yeah. Right. I'm sure. Literally TWO blocks away, I stumbled upon Car Tune after some online prowling. Anyway, I found them, and I KNEW I struck gold the second I pulled up. I hadn't even MET anyone yet. All I had to see were the cars they were working on. Fully 80% of the cars in the bay and parking area were what would be considered "street racers," and I know from living in San Diego how SERIOUS these guys are about their cars. They DON'T mess around. They're sort of like the car version of Harley Davidson fanatics when it comes to motorcycles. That alone put a smile on my face. Second thing I noticed? It may seem like a trivial issue to most people, but because I'm in the restaurant business for over 30 years, I notice stuff like this. But here it is. Every guy working there was nearly SPOTLESS. I don't mean they were decked out in matching uniforms or anything. They were just wearing regular clothes, but everything they were wearing had a MINIMAL amount (if anything at all) of dirt, grease, grime, oil and everything else that comes with the automotive trade. In other words, PROFESSIONAL. The garage itself was basically the same way. Think about it. If you went into the hospital to have your BODY "tuned up" and the doctor walked into the room with blood stains all over his outfit how much confidence would you have about his professionalism? Anyway, those 2 factors made a really good first impression on me. After telling them my problem and letting them know I've got the part, they quote me $1,600 LESS than honda, and at least $200 less than other places I had called. Plus, they gave me a 10 hour timeline as opposed to 1-2 days. They came in well under the deadline, and my 8th gen is running like it's brand f'n new. There's more to that clutch story,but you understand the broad strokes so onto the next fix. The air conditioner. Sooo, of course I pull up to my new friends one morning after dropping my son off at his job a few blocks away. Once again, I explain what's going on to one of the guys who's outside and he tells me he isn't "..quite sure what the exact # is, but I think we charge around $250.." That's fine with me, because I've had others quote me figures closer to $400, like Jiffey Lube who charges me $90 for an oil change. Keep those 2 #s in mind because they're relevant. So, I go home and call the next day to make an appointment. When I show up, I find out that the other guy was waaaay off on his #s because it wasn't $250....it was $135. And, once again, I was told it would take about an hour and a half. About 30 minutes in, one of the guys mentions that my oil is low. I was getting ready for an oil change in a few weeks anyway so I said "Go ahead, whatever you think is best." They said it'd be $35 extra. So, air conditioner fixed and blowing air colder than a witch's tit, and an oil change cost me $170 plus tax, and it was done perfectly. Jiffy Lube would have whacked me for 5 bills and taken all day long to do it. Car Tune did it in 50 minutes which is 40 minutes less than the time they quoted me. One other thing and then I'm out. It's not just that THEY'RE good, it's that birds of a feather flock together. In other words, they don't fix headliners, but when I asked them about it they instantaneously knew exactly who I should call, which again is the mark of a pro in any line of work. I need some body work done. 20 years of little dents dings etc. They'll know someone. I eventually want to paint it. They'll know someone. It's people like this that make a difference. There's a line from the movie Rounders that comes to mind. "You can shear a sheep many times, but skin him only once." The team at Car Tune CLEARLY understands that principle.
