My favorite part is ripping them open and the excitement and suspense of maybe pulling those rare chase cards or finding cool artwork. The guy working was very friendly and helpful. He recommended the type of packs to choose from (same set just different packaging). He even gave us a stack of QR code cards that customers had left behind over time. I realize that our purchase is a toy, but it was an $80 toy that my 12 year old spent his own money on. He purchased it at Comic-con and was told it would ship in a week. We got it closer to 2 weeks. I went to the website and it is under construction, so I don't know any other way to contact them. I am reluctant to leave this below average reiview, I will consider changing it if the shop reaches out and offers to exchange the toy. As for our experience at Comic Con with True Edge; it was below average. Poor customer service, poor line management, even when we said we wanted to buy sonething. True Edge is a fantastic airsoft shop in Simi. There is plenty of parking and the location is easy to find. They have a huge selection of hobby weapons and lots of accessories. They also have a shop for repair and maintenance. Rueben is the technician and he's a super nice and knowledgeable guy. If you have any needed repairs I strongly recommend him. Whitley, the store owner has made false comments about my original review/experience at True Edge to which I have proof of my claims. See my initial review of the store below. Summary: Was sold a broken product. Was told I could return it one-week outside of the return period due to being on vacation/Christmas. My return for the item was not honored, salesman (Doug) claimed he did not recall our 5 conversations, and I was charged a 15% restocking fee. Wrote a review on Yelp to share my experience. Comment from store owner as follows: Whitley: 8/7/2014. Jared why are you doing this? We have done nothing but help you. You kept calling us to return your stuff and it took you four months to bring it in. You brought it in heavily used and we still returned it to help you. Doug went above and beyond to help you and waived the 15% on your returns. What more could Doug have done for you? He took back product you said you'd return in three days, but took you four months to return it to us Jared: 11/11/14. Whitley, I have not once worked with you so to comment on "our" relationship on a vendor/customer basis is completely fabricated. Per your comment, you claim that I came in "4-months" with a "heavily used" product which was neither the case. I came in 6 days after the last eligible return day. The product was unused in the field by myself as it was DOA and admittedly tested by your staff which Doug commented: "Of course we tested it, we wouldn't want to sell you a broken product." Nope. Not as good as they think they are. Even if it's on their website, don't count on them having it in stock. What's worse is when they make up some lame excuse that the quantity on the site doesn't represent store quantity but have no worries it's a phone call away and they'll have it sent right over. That was 5 weeks ago. No phone call / follow up on their part after they took my info and guaranteed to get back to me. Thankfully as a consumer I have other choices. Went here for the 7 years I lived in Simi Valley. Back when Jericho Airsoft off of Tierra Rejada was a paintball field then turned into an airsoft field. Now for some weird reason they closed down. That field was the best airsoft field EVER. It had a very realistic urban village modeled after some of the ones that soldiers are fighting in Afghanistan now. They had the greatest staff and the best milsim type games. True Edge has a really good selection of airsoft guns. They have an assortment of spring and gas powered pistols. They have tons of AEG rifles to choose from. I bought my first one from them. The prices are comparable to others in the area but the edge that I like over some other stores is they do not sell back returned guns. Having bought 4 AEG rifles and having experienced buying a returned rifle at Airsoft GI, I appreciate that they don't do that. They have basically everything else you need for the game such as batteries, BBs, gas canisters, pistol/rifle accessories (you can modify these things till your head spins, trust me), and gear for the field. A great plus is their upgrade and repair service. I had a rifle barrel/spring upgraded there and never had a problem. Again the edge here besides being a local business is that they want repeat business so they do it right the first time. I also bought a gas pistol there and they do a free oil service for the life of the pistol. Pretty sweet in my book. read more

Lets see. I'm fairly new in the airsoft community. But from what I've experience so far True Edge is very helpful. My roommate and I got out first guns here about a little over a month ago. Two refurbished AK's and we love it. It came with a mag each and battery/charger. Then we bought an extra mag each for the AK's. Jerry, the guy that helped us if very helpful and answered all the questions we have for them. Also the great thing about buying the guns here at True Edge is that they offer a free monthly cleaning for life, and I don't know but to me that sounds pretty awesome. Then about a week ago we bought our second guns. I got a gas MP7 and my roommate bought the gas Vector, that was on sale. My roommate got a free mag with her gun and 10% off the the gun, as part of their deal that time. And here's why I'm giving True Edge a four is because they didn't have an extra mag for my gun, and my one mag only holds between 40-50 bbs. But other than that I had a great experience buying from True Edge. My roommate and I will definitely come back. read more

Went to this store with my son who wanted to get involved with this sport. The staff there were very friendly and helpful. They took their time explaining everything so that my son and I had a good start up knowledge about costs, upgrades, equipment etc. They have both new and used airsoft weaponry to choose from with just about everything else you'll need. The salesman suggested that I purchase a used "electric" rifle along with the BB's since my son was just starting out and would save some $$ too. What I really liked about the purchase is that the salesman carefully went over the do's and don'ts on the rifle's operation, ammo loading and battery charging. read more

I went in there a few days ago asking if they could fix my grandsons pistol. I brought it online from a different store. The employee (I don't remember his name but he was a very very large man) was very nice to me and got there airsoft tech which I did not even know was a job :). The tech took the gun into his room and fixed it within a few mins. I have never been into this store but I must say they were all very nice to me and did not even charge me for the repair. I would have to say that the best part of the store is that they went over how the gun works with my grandson so that he would not break it again. About 3 years ago I bought one of my sons an Air Soft Gun from True Edge in Simi. The product was a Hunk of Crap that Kept breaking down. They WOULD NOT stand behind their product like the claimed. Yesterday, I spent over $500 at "ANS XTREME" in Simi Valley. They know how to treat a customer. They even fixed my "True Edge Hunk of Crap" for less than True Edge quoted. I decided to do an impulse buy for an airsoft gun for some fun around the house. The staff was friendly and spent the time to educate me on the products. Knowing I was new and not gaming they suggested a lower cost option but I was looking for something on the nicer end. It appears that I received good advice base on my post purchase research. My only suggestion is not to stick to your new customers on the price. I think it is expected that you will pay more at a brick and mortar shop for the service and overhead. But, when you mark up 45% over online, the buyer could have remorse. So next time, check out the merchandise and then order online? Not expecting online prices but I do expect fair. I know retailers hate online competition but they need to play nice on the price if you want repeat business or do not want all their customers haggling over every purchase. Oh, I guess I could have asked, but why did I need to do that? Again, nice shop and good selection. Enjoying the toy. read more

Went to their booth at Wondercon today and I was amazed at the selection and quality of the pieces! I fell in love with The Walking Dead's Michonne sword, and it was in a great price range. The Deadpool swords and the Link sword and shield were awesome too! They even had affordable cowls for cosplay as well! Spencer and the owner were very helpful while I was looking around. Have gone back there 3 times to fix the same gun and they keep saying it needs different parts. Went in just to get my working gun tuned up. It stopped working 2 days later took it back they said it needed a motor, replaced the motor, 2 days later it stopped working, took it back they said it needed a better battery, now the wiring is shot according to them and they wont fix it with out charging me up front.
