The short: Looking for some nerf bars for my truck I wandered up here. The long: Instead of buying what I was after online I wanted to buy local and support local. I found this place online and headed out. When I got there I was wandering around the little shop and a sales member came over and asked if I needed help. I let them know I was after some nerf bars for my truck and after giving him the specs he was able to tell me they were in stock and would be $249 +$90 for install. Problem is I could buy the exact same bars online for $129 and the install is designed to be easy and no drill so anyone can do them in under an hour. Sorry but I cannot justify paying double and then paying an additional $90 for someone to tighten up 12 bolts. What works: Nice little shop with a decent selection of items and stock What to improve: Pricing is WAY off. Over double internet pricing and considerably higher than other local shops read more

Wow! I just read the review from TW. and can't believe he expects a brick and mortar store to compete with a cut rate internet site and wants them to do free installs, this guy has no clue how close small business comes to failing every year and most likely has never been in the retail world. Maybe not even the real world for that matter. With floor space, lights, people to answer your questions not to mention 1st class installers and products you can see for your self. that is worth some thing. Caution when ordering from the internet (product brands may very) in other words ever order something on line and have a cheap 3rd world copy of a brand name product show up, then try to return it and actually get a timely refund? Add shipping and now the price is not so far apart from the internet supplyers anyway. Been there done that. Truck Smart only carry's top quality parts, no crappy knock offs and there knowledgeable installers do clean work that's why so meany local car dealerships use them for upgrading new trucks. They have been a world of help in customizing my GMC 4X4 . They have lifted it,installed a 1st class lighting system with 4 huge Hella lights, trailer hitch and towing package, Add a leaf springs, tail gate lock and a lot of stuff I'm not going to bother to list here. Every time they have been price competitive and done a fantastic job. It doesn't look like a truck that has been added on too. It looks clean and everything fits like it was made that way. I will gladly pay a few more dollars for that. And the owner was right, do all your business on line and soon your living in a town full of boarded up strip malls with high unemployment. Great job Truck smart be seeing you again soon. Jeff read more

I have been in 5-6 times and they have always helped me with different pricing options. They are definitely more expensive than others if you are looking for cheapest price, not the guys. But since I work a lot, they have installed lifts, leveled, light bars on multiple trucks. I have ordered a few other items I did myself. Never late, no issues. Will be in shortly for more. Thanks Ps. I strongly believe in supporting local business as long as they are HONEST, courteous, the best service or supply at a reasonable price. My standards are really high. read more

Came to Trucksmart from out of town with a wiring harness and a brake controller needing it spliced and installed by the next day for my trailer. They didn't have the time to do the install (because they're awesome and slammed with business) but he came back 10 minutes later with it spliced together and refused any payment/tip. This is the attitude that keeps customers coming back! Thanks again guys! read more

Amazing service and they stand behind their work! I purchased a bed extender and drop down side steps both by AMP just over 4 years ago. The other day after riding on a bumpy road one of my steps seemed to come out of alignment and when stepped on appeared to be damaged. In reviewing my paperwork they stand behind their labor for 12 months so naturally I figured I would pay for my repair. We brought the truck and John explained the labor warranty but went the extra mile to get us looked at right away and he had the team getting a us back on the road in minutes. The service was quick and they made me a customer for life by not charging us for what ended up being a simple fix. Other shops probably would have charged us. I really appreciate John and I will probably be back soon for the next upgrade. Thanks John! read more

I wanted to buy some prop rods for my toolbox on my truck. I called, the guy said come down and we'll see if we have something that fits. I drive across town and walk in and say I called about the prop rods. He asks if i took them off, i said no they're right outside on the truck. So he gives me attitude as if I'm a fool for not pulling them off for him to look at and acts as though its a major inconvenience to walk the 30 feet to the parking lot to look and try to help me. I just left, i cant believe someone who's in the customer service business would be so lazy and offended at having to go out to the customers truck to help. I worked in automotive and retail for years when i was younger and we always were there to help the customer, never gave a bunch of attitude for such a simple request as walking out to look at the truck part. Maybe he was having a bad day but i doubt it, he was interested in the sale when i called and greeted me when i walked in but as soon as he had to provide actual service it was just an inconvenience apparently. Btw, there was no one in the store and two other people behind the counter chatting. Hard to believe. Edit: after this experience i called scatt recreation and truck specialties and they were both extremely helpful and though they didnt have the oart in stock they guided me to another contact who can solve it for me. Definitely recommend them over this place if you need help solving a problem. read more

Great owners. Great worker who put my bike hitch and rack on my ford SUV. I could not detach rack as I am a senior woman but they helped me out by adapting it so now I can put it on and off. Thanks guys read more

We needed to get a two inch ball so we could haul our utility trailer. We drove in to Trucksmart where they greeted us immediately, and put the ball on the truck in less than 15 minutes. It was reasonable, and both Matt and another gentleman whose name I did not get were congenial and professional. I would recommend these folks to other shoppers. read more

Rob installed a Curt brake controller on my 08 Honda Ridgeline to pull my 20' Jayco RV trailer. I installed the Drawtite receiver hitch myself, but did not feel competent to install the brake controller. Rob told me that Trucksmart installs these components in their sleep. Couple hours later the work is done with a new 7-pin that connects to my trailer. I adjusted the brake control sensitivity when I got home and all of the trailer lights worked as they should. Rob also looked at my hitch receiver install and noticed that I installed the large area surface washers upside down, and fixed my error as well as torqued down the 7 bolts. Awesome! read more

Really irritated with Truck Smart right now. I had an appt today to get the bed liner and side rails put on and they couldn't do the side rails because they didn't get them delivered. Supposedly they side rails were supposed to be delivered today but they weren't so I have to come back another day to get those put on. They shouldn't schedule an appt if they don't have the product in. read more

Just order your parts from the internet. Went in looking for truck parts and the guy basically searched the internet in front of me. They then proceeded to talk down to me as though I didn't know the dimensions of my truck that I was building. Save your money and just buy your parts off the internet. read more

Great service, got a receiver installed on my truck. I'm seriously appalled at the low star reviews complaining about price at a local small business. If you don't want the whole world to become owned by Walmart Amazon etc support your local business. The reason people's wages are so low working for these giant corporation are the extreme low prices people demand these days. Pay a little extra, support someone's business. Honestly wouldn't you rather have an expert to talk to or just another sales rep that reads the box. read more

This review has been delayed by my own fault when I told the manager I would write one up based on my last experience last year. A couple years ago I had some clown in a smart car decide to recklessly cut me off as he apparently made a mistake being in the wrong lane to exit onto the freeway. Before I was able react, My brush guard picked up his beta-cuck car and lifted it up, carried it several feet and then I tapped my brakes and dropped it. Instead of stopping, this fool decided to run. Well, following him for two miles, I was able to corner him off the freeway where he thought he was hidden. Long story shorter, Due to my dash cam, I called off CHP and he agreed to pay out of pocket after exchanging information. My brush guard only had minor scrapes to it compared to the $1500-$2k worth of damage to his rear end. However, my brush guard has rhino lining on it and that isn't cheap to replace. I went to truck smart and they applied a new type of coating. After six months, that coating was peaking off at an excessive rate. I wasn't happy after paying nearly $500. I went back and to my surprise, the store manager said he'd have them reapply another thicker, more stable coat at no cost. Talk about taking care of their customers. I am very grateful for his professionalism, although he seems a bit grumpy, but who cares, I'm a bitter, salty vet who earned his asshole merit badge. The other members of the team were very helpful and pleasant. Thank you to all of your team. read more

Great service, they told me the exact timeline and kept it all the way. Even finished early. Price is comparable if you want installation, want cheaper price do it your self. Thanks guys my wife loved her trucks new accessories. read more

Quoted me 200 less that linex for doing some running boards on my jeep. The guy handling the rhino lining was super nice and helpful. They sprayed ever part I wanted them too and had them done in 1 day. Will go back for other parts soon! read more

I bought a 5th wheel from a shop down the street and they recommended I go to truck smart. I walk in talk to a woman behind the counter telling her that I have been stuck in town paying thousands in hotels because my truck overheated and I had to buy a new one to haul my 5th wheel home. She acknowledges and says my hitch is over 1300 bucks. I pay the full amount up front. She says come back Tuesday for install. 3 more days of hotels I show up that morning and she says it's for Tuesday next week.i told them my urgency and she didn't care. Owner comes out says I need more parts and he will slide me in when he can. No calls, no nothing. Call the day before and said I'd pay the 700 in labor he was going to lose but refund the hitch. He says after shipping return there is no money left. I don't see a return costing 600 in shipping. He hasn't refunded a penny! I got no hitch, no return, he just took my money! Giving a call Monday, if I don't get satisfaction he will be going to court. Worst experience I've ever had. Avoid this place! read more

Do not give them your business. The older guy that works there, in his high 40s or low 50s he's got white hair. I'm not sure of his name. He drives the blue F-150 always parked right out front the shop. He is a completely unprofessional and does not deserve anyone's money. read more

We just bought a new truck and had a fifth wheel hitch installed at the dealer. It started making a loud clunk sound during acceleration and breaking. Returned to dealer and they said it was fine. Not feeling ok with their answer we went to Trucksmart which is certified install for Curt hitches. John not only took the time to call Curt to address our issue but also adjusted the hitch for a smoother tow. John took the time to fix our problem and got us back on the road. So professional, we thank you! read more

I have been buying from trucksmart for about 5 years now and every time I have been treated fairly and with respect. Recently I had them do some work to one of my trucks and they did a good job and did it the right way. I also made a mistake and had to cancel an appointment with them last minute for one of my other trucks and they were more than professional in how they handled something that was clearly my mistake. Thank you guys! read more

We're a dealer in Auburn, CA, and have used Trucksmart for more than two decades for hitches, running boards, and truck accessories for our clients. These guys know their business. I purchased a pipe rack and tool box. It was installed quickly and at a fair price. Thank you !

I've been to these guys a couple times now for nerf bars and to get the bed liner sprayed in my new Silverado. Both times they have been great. I was told 4 hours on the bedliner and it was done in 3. Accidentally left my wallet on the seat and they had it inside the center console for with zero issues. Won't hesitate to go back again read more

Went in with a problem and came out with a good viable solution. Spoke with John on the phone before going in. Very professional and helpful. Upon arriving he quickly linked me up with one of their techs (Rob, I think) who was super helpful. Looking forward to returning with my new truck for a Rhino lining. Thank you. read more

Cant recommend these guys enough, I had an issue with towing my trailer and another shop told me the only solution was to buy a bigger truck. I took it to Trucksmart and after about $200 worth of work my truck and trailer work perfectly together. I have also had them do other work and always a great job. read more

Nice staff but very overpriced. I went in loaded with Internet pricing. The item I wanted was 34% more than other locations. Owner saw my pricing and stated I should but there to keep my tax dollars local. Would love to support their business but the price difference was a bit much. Perhaps they should offer free install. read more

I gladly left this business after experiencing lackluster customer service. Being a "smart" shopper, I use the internet to purchase goods to get the best price possible like many do. I was interested in paying them to install the equipment. After asking if they would, I was immediately told they wouldn't work with me. As a potential customer the last thing that I should hear is how I should care about how the building gets paid for by purchasing their products. I would encourage others to seek another business for their automotive desires. I was able to find other local shops in Roseville/Rocklin that would gladly accept "my" business needs. read more

They have been able to promptly install a new wiring trailer plug on my truck and take care of a new hitch for me. John also got me my quote and found the exact boxes I want when I get my new truck and you can bet I'll be back for my boxes and a lumber rack when that time finally comes!!! As a business owner I appreciate every bit of customer service I have received since they first picked up my phone call! read more

Was the only place I would shop for truck/trailer parts, but not anymore. After several trips back and forth to purchase truck stepups...when they came in, they were the wrong parts. Then...when I arrived to have the correct ones attached, the owner locked my keys in the car and had to call a locksmith to get the car open. I wouldn't have mentioned this or even written a review, but because my truck ran on the gas I had in it, until the locksmith arrived...well over 40 minutes...when the work was finished I had spent well over two hours in the shop...and my truck (since I had prepaid parts and labor)...was left to me with the low fuel light on. There is a big difference in a heartfelt apology and an offer to perhaps at least give me a discount on the repair...or offer to pay for the gas burned! I have shopped there for years for truck accessories, and several different trailer accessories and parts...as have my extended family members...no more. Another guy in there waiting along with me for two hours, told me he was given a promised time, and he was "let down" too. Good luck! read more

DONT USE THIS PLACE ! DONT GET RIPPED OFF ! Especially don't deal wth Johnnie the jackass. Even a couple of the employees talk bad about him. I am a new owner of a travel trailer and was having some problems with brakes from the truck to the trailer. I took my truck to Trucks Mart in Rocklin ( DONT EVER GO THERE) and they proceeded to tell me my trailer needed new brakes and that my 2004 Ford F 150 needed re-wiring.. They had my truck on 3 different occasions and couldn't figure out the problem. They blamed my brake lights, my trailer and my truck wiring. Trucks Mart also said I needed new brakes on my trailer. I took my trailer elsewhere for a second opinion. They troubleshot everything and said my brakes were fine and my truck needed a switch replaced. That was it ! My trailer is older and I didn't have any idea when the brakes had ever been done, so they could have said they all needed to be replaced along with my truck rewired and I would have gladly paid for it. I wouldn't have known the otherwise.. I took my truck and trailer home and and everything has worked perfect. I'm in a big RV group and I will be definitely referring them all to the place I went. I have also told the same group about Trucks Mart and they have all avoided going there.. They really should replace you Johnnie, not to mention your sort of a douche bag ! read more

I wanted to put a front hitch receiver on my truck and went to Trucksmart. They gave me a decent bid. The sales guy said it would look clean with a neat hole cut through the bottom spoiler for the hitch receive rather than cutting a sloppy notch. When I went to pick up the truck after the install, I saw they had cut a notch instead of the clean hole as promised, leaving the spoiler looking ragged and flappy. I pointed this out to the owner who initially gave me some blowback telling me the install was acceptable. I realize a profitable business can't just agree to after-the-fact whims of picky customers, but this wasn't acceptable to me especially when it was specifically discussed as a condition of the install. When I explained this to the owner, he did some checking and made the right decision. He ordered a new front bottom spoiler for my truck and had it installed with the nice clean hole as initially promised, at no additional cost to me. It looks great. In hindsight, he could have told me to go fly a kite, but he didn't. He did the right thing. I will continue to go to Trucksmart and recommend it to my friends. read more
